Okay. Alright. Here we fucking go again.
S2E4.
I already have one spoiler I'm completely unsurprised by, let's make it more.
I survive the LAST TIME ON HALO and my increasing desire to not be doing this right now, and am rewarded with one of this show's only endearing qualities: Vannak's ongoing animal guy personality trait. He gets to feed the pigeons for 2 seconds before the explosions start.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cut to Perez and Jimmy Rings running through the streets while Perez yells about having to get back to her family and Jimmy yells about how they're gone, Perez! (Also sorry I'm going back to calling him Jimmy Rings because I hate having to distinguish him from actual Chief and might as well do it in the most ridiculous way possible.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we immediately jump to Soren and Halsey in the funbox.
Tumblr media
Did you know that one of my least favorite things TV shows do is cliffhanger on a situation that could've been interesting, then ~subvert your expectations~ by making it completely uninteresting and resolving nothing?
Yeah.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gold star, no notes.
Then the power goes out.
Tumblr media
Soren just kinda leaves because the security system's off. Bye!!!
Tumblr media
Meanwhile again, Perez is very upset for obvious reasons and has a disagreement with Jimmy about what they should be doing. Jimmy wants to go back to FLEETCOM, while Perez wants to start warning everyone to evacuate RIGHT NOW.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Perez this isn't gonna work I'm sorry.
Tumblr media
Anyway.
Suddenly Stealth Elite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry it's so hard to get caps of these guys, I think the sfx people don't want you to look at 'em too close.
On the bright side, Halsey leaving with Soren shows they do have a chance of unlocking the comedy duo power I believed in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back again.
They're really trying to speedrun some shit here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like, this is so close to being in character (even though it isn't quite) but the problem is that they want to have this character say so much shit when the guy they have been trying so badly to emulate doesn't open up and it feels unearned/not worked up to. The problem with trying to crack open a character like the actual Master Chief is that it requires a ton of space and focus on doing that, and this project is so full of subplots and has scrapped so much of its own first season that it has even LESS time to develop enough rapport for me to not feel like I'm being hit over the head. Like I get it, I write insane shit with Chief trying to figure out how to communicate with people after he's decided he might be okay with it, but this just doesn't work for me.
This could work, but it kinda came in from the factory pre-bungled.
Anyway.
Jimmy Rings walking around this random building they're escaping through while holding a fucking axe he found is so funny to me.
Tumblr media
Speaking of the axe, it's apparently an antique!!! And this random building is a shop belonging to a British lady and, suddenly, we are going full WWII stiff-upper-lip blitz speech.
Fuck, hold on, I need another post for full effect-

A quick follow-up to this post about accessibility and sending professional email:
The message templates I mentioned aren't available in mobile Gmail at this point, but you can still set up email templates and save them as Drafts.
When you need a quick text/template/sentence frame, click on Drafts in the sidebar and copy/paste from the relevant draft. Subject lines are visible in message drafts, so you can use that line to name your templates if you have a bunch and use them regularly.
And speaking of mobile writing, there are a lot of people, again of all ages, whose phone is their primary device. They might have access to another device at work or through school, but the device they own, where they have an expectation of privacy, is their smartphone, and if they learned how to touch-type on a standard computer keyboard they might struggle to write fluently or quickly on their phone, which could result email that sounds less than professional.
If that's the case, speech-to-text is going to be helpful, but that method is far from perfect, and might feel awkward in spaces that aren't private. My suggestion is to practice typing on the screen.
I do a lot of writing on my phone, and I know there are other people with really fast fingers out there, but for those of you who struggle with this and want to increase your wpm and accuracy on your phone, I've got some tips!
Adust the height of your keyboard and the size of the keys. Gboard does this and there are some other useful settings like editing-mode, clipboard functions, and a text scanner. Gboard is great, but make sure to be aware of and adjust your privacy settings as appropriate.
Go into keyboard settings and adjust vibration and haptics to so there's a slight vibration when keys are pressed. (I have pop-up on key press enabled too and I think it makes me more accurate.)
Adjust your body position so you're comfortable, and ensure that you're holding your phone far enough away from your body that you can see the typing area and the whole keyboard while you type.
Sit to type whenever possible, and rest your hands and forearms on something that elevates your phone slightly so you're not folding forward over it. Ergonomics is especially important on mobile. Don't hurt yourself!
Turn down your screen's brightness and/or use a night mode setting so you don't exhaust your eyes.
Practice! We've tried a few typing programs with students, most of them paid, but I recommend MonkeyType because it's free, fun, and works well on mobile. If you try it and decide to create an account, go to settings and adjust test time to your preference. If you're not sure start with 2-5 minutes. Play with the Funbox settings to customize the test, and see if you can beat your best score for speed and accuracy. You can customize the keystroke sound too! Some of them are really annoying!
Take breaks, stretch, flex your fingers, rotate your wrists!
Apps for mobile writers (my favorites):
Proton Drive has a free version with a few GB of storage
Markor is a free offline text editor for Android. It supports markdown and is customizable, and sharing from Markor to other apps is simple and fast.
Obsidian is another markdown editor with a free version, is cross-platform, has options to sync files across devices, and supports organization of notes with tagging and linking.
Personal Dictionaries. On Android this is literally called "personal dictionary" in settings, and on iOS I think it lives under the autocorrect setting. Depending on what you're writing, proactively adding words like proper nouns to your personal dictionary instead of waiting for autocorrect to learn them will improve your typing speed!
There are tons of apps and cloud storage out there and I haven't tried most of them, but those are the apps I feel most comfortable using.
iOS has a built-in notes app but apparently a recent update made it hard to use? (I don't have an iPhone but this was an issue for someone in my family who said it takes forever to open now. I hope they fix that because so many people rely on it.)
If you have a Google account, Keep Notes is pretty reliable but as far as I can tell the note "file" seems to be indistinguishable from a Google Doc -- every note in Keep has an option to move it to Google Docs -- so if you use Google Docs for writing this might be ideal. I don't use Docs for personal writing because I have to use it for work, but it's reliable and easy to use on mobile.
Please reply or reblog if you know of any mobile writing apps that are easier for everyone to use, more reliable, or have better privacy/encryption options.

This question is made on a misconception that a Vriska is defined by their controversial place in the fandom, but this is disregarding that Vriska was not merely a hated character in Homestuck’s wider discourse. If we define a Vriska as a widely hated or controversial character, then would that make Scrappy Doo a Vriska? No.
The thing that made Vriska unique amongst her contemporaries is that she was a character who was just as easy to hate as well as easy to understand and sympathize with. She was fundamentally a troubled person living under a stressful situation, yet she was manipulative, a murderer, and an extremely toxic person. She had a bravado and ambition that was equally annoying and compelling. She's a well-written character who was a terrible person, who also continually stole the spotlight and inserted herself into places she probably didn't need to be.
But I’d say the greatest thing that makes a Vriska a Vriska is if people argue about their morality. Is this character a victim or a villain? Or both? Have they already gone too far? Do you want to see them succeed or do you want to see them fail?
Erebus doesn’t really have any of these traits. At the end of the day, hate him or love him, you know what Erebus is about. His motives are clear, we know his true alignment. There's never much debate about that, he's a character who is easy to hate and dunk on.
But you know who *actually* causes lots of debates over their true morality with a million different interpretations?
Tumblr media
is erebus the vriska of 40k?
I don't know what a vriska is. *Googles it* I never watched homestuck, am I still allowed on here?

Jigsaw Puzzle Fever Review (PlayStation 4)
Tumblr media
For this Jigsaw Puzzle Fever Review, the pieces are laid out on the screen - the player simply scrolls through the available pieces and selects a piece. Otherwise, this is just digital puzzles and you cannot possibly lose the pieces!
Jigsaw Puzzle Fever Review Pros:
- Photo graphics. - 424.9MB download size. - Platinum trophy. - Jigsaw gameplay. - A brief tutorial pop-up. - Five difficulties - Easy, not so easy, normal, hard, and expert. - You can pick up and drop pieces wherever you want on the board. - Correct piece drops click into place and cannot be moved again. - Every level it timed. - Puzzles can have modifiers like the ability to rotate pieces or not. - End of puzzle breakdown. - Grid on or off. - If allowed you can see the completed picture. - A limited number of hints on a puzzle. - Puzzles are split up on the menu and you complete puzzles to then unlock more puzzles. - All puzzles are themed. - The puzzles can be special ones like a timed one, no hints, or limited picture lookups. - Simple controls. - Online leaderboards. - Choose your own route through the puzzles and their order. Jigsaw Puzzle Fever Review Cons: - Cannot rebind controls. - The music is really bad generic royalty-free music on a loop. - The menu in the puzzle is clunky and not clear. - Has a mobile game look and feel to it all. - General piece management is a real pain as you cannot freely roam the drop zones on the puzzle. - It just doesn't play well or move as freely as it should and other Jigsaw games do. I am kinda glad Erda is the way she is in canon because i find that most concepts of Mother of the Primarchs take a very "The Emperor's Loyal Tradwife" angle; which unfortunately are very uninteresting.

if i had to guess it's most likely because 40k fanfiction is spread out amongst different sites. There's Cold Open Stories, fanfiction.net, ao3, spacebattles, and hentai foundry alongside scattered 4chan threads. Meanwhile COD may not seem like the fandom for fanfiction, but i could see it being popular amongst people who are into military/war fiction. And fujos, of course.
How does Call of Duty have way more fanfiction than Warhammer 40K? Or does 40K have more but it's scattered across different websites?

Contraptions 3 Review (PlayStation 4)
Tumblr media
For this Contraptions 3 Review, where on every level there are a number of objects and monsters...The goal is to rid the level of the monsters. This can be achieved in different ways...The objects are affected by the laws of physics and play a key part in solving the puzzle. The objects form a “contraption” which is placed in such a way, which creates a chain reaction that will wipe out all monsters. The catch is that the contraption is broken - some objects are not in the right place. Your goal is to fix the contraption. You do this, by repositioning, flipping, or connecting the different objects.
Tumblr media
Contraptions 3 Review Pros:
- Nice cartoon graphics. - 147.8MB download size. - Platinum trophy. - Works on Playstation 5. - Puzzle gameplay. - 200 levels to play. - All levels are unlocked and you can play in order. - Basic tutorial on the first level. - Any object with a purple outline can be grabbed and moved around. - Attach belts to machines to have fans move or platforms shift. - Uses a strong physics engine. - OK, soundtrack. - Full-level editor - with 200 locations, you can lick and flip parts, and add/remove a grid to help with placement. - The goal of a level is to eliminate aliens by any means. - Levels allow multiple and unique ways to finish a level. - Can replay levels. - Gives your brain a bit of a workout.
Tumblr media
Contraptions 3 Review Cons: - Cannot rebind controls. - The tutorial is so basic that it only actually helps for the first level then you are on your own. - The music feels like one track on a loop. - Doesn't take advantage of the touchpad on the controller. - The level editor doesn't have any way to share your Creations. - No online interactions in any way. - Doesn't have a pause menu. - Cannot bring up the controls. - No way to get help or tips. - Feels and looks like a mobile game blown up.
