Hello this is my first post here on Tumblr
I am not one hundred percent - or even 50% - sure how it all works.

I like fly fishing, freshly ground coffee and philosophy.
And writing fiction and non fiction and verse.

I know we like to highlight the anglerfish as like the pinnacle of some kind of natural horror, but how much more awful is the flyfisherperson who, using the guise of natural prey, traps the fish and yanks it into a world in which it simply suffocates to death or, if the fisherperson is feeling generous, let's it suffocate only for a moment in a world it cannot understand before plopping it back into the water as if nothing ever happened.

I went to Malabar park last night. It was a stark contrast to the action earlier in the day on the lake. There was very little activity on the water. I had two strikes and caught two fish. The little Bluegill I caught on a Mighty Micro could not be photographed due to low light. The good news is the fly this Bass smashed is (you guessed it) another test fly. I made a feather tailed fly that could be cast easily with a 3wt! I wanted the benefits of a larger profile with the ease of casting with a light rod. I am also playing around with multiple color flies. This is the second time tan/yellow has proven itself on an otherwise slow night. I think the slow bite has something to do with the heat and humidity. A lot of little storm fronts and high water temperatures. I think the Bass are looking for larger offerings. All the usual productive flies did not get a single hit. Probably too small to be worth the fishes effort. I will let everyone know when the new flies are for sale on ebay.
