Should I Stay or Should I Go?

He was both excited and nervous as fuck, but the latter he was doing well at hiding. He just met this man tonight and already he invited him on his boat, on a sailing trip, and already he was being invited into his home. Which both men accepted, respectively. Flint wasn’t one to just… jump into bed with anyone, he didn’t much care for one night stands, and this isn’t at all what that felt like. The connection was instant, the chemistry was palpable, and both men felt it. He wasn't quite sure where it would lead tonight, if anywhere, but he was simply looking forward to learning more about him. About this handsome, talented and passionate bartender he just met.

He steps inside after Izzy opens the door, allowing him to enter first, and instantly he's met with that same homey feeling that he felt in his bar. He glances around the living room after venturing further inside, his attention immediately grabbed by the numerous posters on the wall, some of bands and movies he recognized and enjoyed, himself. "Great taste in music. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that," he jokes with a smirk, but the praise was honest. "I remember seeing The Clash in concert a few years ago. Fucking amazing performance." Among some others. One of the many benefits of being able to travel. He continues his walk through the living room, loving his whole set up, both silently and verbally appreciating what he sees. Some that James was familiar with and some that he wasn't which he did admit to Izzy as they made their way around while conversing.

It's then that they enter the dining room where his table was indeed filled with the laundry he warned him about. "You weren't kidding about the laundry." He says with a laugh, unable to help but tease him. He really didn't care, it was just too good a moment not to tease him a little. "I've no right to judge. I have laundry in my basket, on the drier, from three days ago." He was brave to admit that, but hey, he's been busy. And okay, not very motivated to put it away. "Those posters back in your living room," he starts, turning to look at him, about to clarify exactly which ones. "Were they ones you were part of?" @unicornondeck

Israel wasn’t even in the tavern at Nassau port. He couldn’t go in there. How could he after what happened? He couldn’t show his face to those fucking ingrates and he didn’t want to risk running into that asshole Vane or any others of his treacherous crew. Fuck that. Instead, he’d found a place on the beach to get shit-faced in The Wrecks. He hadn’t moved from the spot for days, having spent a significant amount on rum. Shirt was untucked, his tie loose. He didn’t like taking it off because his mother’s ring was on it. But the leather vest was on the sand. His usually kempt hair an utter mess about his face. The pirate sat quietly enjoying his cheap rum before a fire until.. that voice.

He thought he knew that voice, turning his head, his eyes meeting boots. He followed them up to the man towering over him. Eyes winced as if he was trying to make out who he was in the darkness and flames of the fire, oh. This guy, the new guy to Nassau. The prick that made Captain in only a month’s time. The man that DARED to speak to Edward Teach as if he was his fucking equal. Izzy sneered, quickly looking away. He’d sneered at the thought of the memory, the thought of his former captain. His grip on the rum bottle tightened.

“ What the fuck do you want? Can’t a pirate drink in peace? Or do you know —- “ Izzy stopped his sentence, his lips dropping into almost a pout. He hung his head, there might have been a sniffle but there was no way the new kid heard it over the crackling of the fire. That’s right, Izzy. You were no one now. You were once first-mate to motherfucking Blackbeard. You were once his quartermaster. Now look at you. You were nothing. This negative self talk continued in his drunken mind as the silence between them lingered. He quickly changed course.

“ How did you find me? If a man comes the fuck out here, he wants to be left the fuck alone. “ His leg slid into the dirt and found its home with a thunk. The pirate had nothing now. No ship. No crew. No allies. Vane. He was going to kill that son of a bitch if it was the last thing he did on this earth.
