#Feyre being the main character she should've been

I will always believe that Feyre should've been Rhys's reckoning, on some "I'm lying to him and he's lying to me, fuck it, guess we both ain't shit". It would've been so delicious
Feyre Archeron, but as Feyre Cursebreaker instead of the High Lady. What if she had to visit the courts to understand and master her powers? Since the whole High King crap didn’t work the first time, Feyre could instead take on the role of keeping peace and balance between the courts, as well as saving and protecting Prythian’s magic (Atla reference). Have Tamlin’s paranoia come true about people coming after her because she possesses the High Lords’ magic. It would add layers of tension and danger to her journey.
It would also be interesting to see each court as equally powerful and none can survive without the others. Imagine the dynamic between Rhysand vs Tamlin, with the Spring Court being such a vital core of Prythian- interconnected with and as necessary as the Night Court.
Feysand, but with Rhys as a morally gray character who cares only about his own gain. The sole reason he kept Feyre alive Under the Mountain was because she was the key to his freedom and nothing more. After Feyre gains power from each High Lord and becomes a symbol of freedom and peace (something similar), Rhys begins to see her as a weapon- a means to make his court the most powerful of them all (he lies to her that he needs her to win the war and save Prythian). But will he stay true to his ambitions when he finds himself falling in love with her? 😏 (They both aren’t aware of the mating bond)
Idk, this is just a fun concept. Let me know what you think.
#she should've found out about velaris and then ran to the Illyrian steppes and Court of Nightmares to be like-#“hey guys you know your leader has a secret city that y'all are dying for 😁”#should've snuck the ⅔ of his court out from under him#appealled to being poor and also fae jesus#when Rhys thinks he's playing her just to be met with her instead of Keir 😭#“you're my mate” and she's gonna make you regret that!#and if he tries to get her#she just dips to like Dawn#cause once against fae Jesus#her remaking the cauldron>>>>> her fighting in the final battles>>>> her protecting the illyrians and CoN citizens cause she knows-#what it means to be left for dead by leaders>>>>>#Feyre being the main character she should've been#Rhys being the anti-villain turned anti-hero he should've been#feyre archeron#rhysand#acotar

I’m pretty new to the fandom but am I the only one who doesn’t think Feyre’s been sidelined? We had 4 books of her as the only or main POV where the series very obviously resolved around her then one spinoff book where she’s not the main character but feysand are clearly the next most prominent characters in the book after nessian and even though the pregnancy plot isn’t well liked, it doesn’t change the fact that so much of nesta’s healing arc and the kickoff of her journey, the rock bottom, and climax of it in book revolve around her relationship with feyre. We even see feyre having so high lady moments even though nesta is avoiding her for parts.
And then I thought given the story that sjm ended up writing for CC3, it’s obvious why feyre isn’t there- she wanted Bryce to use the mask and needed nesta to give it to her and for Bryce to be skeptical of prythian. Feyre is not born fae, ruler of NC, and less prickly then both Az and Nesta (and Amren and Rhys even), she’d hurt the distrusting conflict and wouldn’t give the mask like nesta without getting more involved (at least involving Rhys). I suspect sjm wanted a different plot at first but decided to change it and maybe it’s because she didn’t want the acotar side to take over (Bryce even considers asking Rhys for help because he’s so strong but decides against it because she can’t trust him not to become a conqueror). I thought it was purposeful that the friendliest members of the IC were basically absent. She may even be saving aspects of that original plot for a larger team up later, maybe in an acotar book since prythian’s (and Feyre/Rhys/the high lord’s) power is given such focus. It’s not even an acotar book, like should Az’s greater presence in it be seen as a sign that he’s more important than Rhys in acotar?
If the next book comes out and feyre is just not a factor, I’d get it more. But I just don’t see what’s got everyone convinced sjm isn’t interested in feyre or whatever.
People talking about Feyre being sidelined in acosf are just looking for something to hate lol because even I knew Feyre wasn't going to be the main character when sjm made pretty clear this is Nesta's/Nessian's book. Feyre doesn't even have a pov in acosf ffs (except that bonus chapter) and still, she has an important role in Nesta's book because she's the biggest part of Nesta's guilt and self-hatred. And yes in my recent semi-reread of acosf there are so many times that we see Feyre as High Lady (and I absolutely love those!!)
Like you said I'm not too fond of Feyre's pregnancy plot either and I think it shouldn't have been in Nesta's book and it definitely shouldn't have been used as a redemption arc for Nesta. In other words, both Nesta and Feyre deserved better than this. Feyre deserved a beautiful pregnancy after all she's been through and Nesta deserved a better journey where other characters weren't used for her, the focus should've been on her and her relationship with others.
Now about CC I was one of those people who wanted to see more Feyre and were disappointed. Not because I think she was sidelined, no. But because I expected to see her at least in one scene? I mean it could be totally because of my love Feyre that I wanted to see her again, that's my only disappointment and not because I think she should've had a big role or something.
I expected Nesta to have some major role in CC (not this much tho) and for Azriel, I fully anticipated him to be an important character because of Truthteller and Bryce bringing Starsword with her. I still think sjm focused on these two a lot because even after CC people are more focused on acotar characters than the CC characters. And if Feyre had joined the focus of readers would've completely been on acotar so now after 7 months I think sjm did the right thing. Feyre being a mother is a nasty way for the fandom to talk about their displeasure and bring down Feyre for being a mother which isn't surprising at all since everyone thinks she's now "less cool" because of it.
Now about Azriel, I don't think he's more important than Rhys (call me biased idc lmao😭 and my beef with him) I think the reason why he's so focused on, is because he's going to have the next book. We're going to see his back story and how he's possessing TT and who is going to possess Starsword (and as I said before I think it's going to be Gwyn and she's going to be a Starborn because we have no idea who her father is so sjm can put anyone as her father) and I know some think Azriel is the Starborn and I THINK NOT!!! Idk how to explain it, I just know he's not hehe :D
I think Feyre is still going to be in the next books because she's the main character of the series and she's still a high lady after all, but it will be something like acosf. And I think she's going to have a same amount of page time (lol) in Elucien book like she had in acosf.
#IF ANYONE...#and I mean ANYONE#comes in the comments and tell me elucien will be the next book I'll block y'all...#everytime someone only mention their opinion about who is going to be the next book and if we say that it's azriel#some hardcore elucien will turn up and aggressively say nope it's about elain and lucien#I haven't changed my mind all this time and I believe Azriel is the next book since acosf and hofas only cemented it#the last time I said this so many people attacked me and... yeah...#I didn't asked anyone opinion and I have read why people think elucien would be the next book and I disagree#end of discussion...#that doesn't mean I don't like elucien I'm just tired of elucienS behavior#sorry if this come off as rude I just don't have energy to argue#anyways#feyre archeron#pro feyre archeron#nesta archeron#azriel#gwyneth berdara#gwynriel#let me tag#pro gwynriel#as well to keep the antis away hehe

Did I genuinely miss something in the SJM books? Because why am I seeing so many posts about how Cassian is toxic and Nesta should've ended up with Eris and Lucien is the best character in the series ...
What???
Is this because Nesta giving up the mask in HOFAS? And Cassian not stopping Rhys from yelling at her?
Listen I love Nesta but that was dumb as hell? And Nesta can defend herself so not sure what Cassian was even supposed to do in this situation? He stood by her when she nearly bit his head off like 4000 times, he loves her, and he HAS defended her countless times.
What is with this fandom? The cherry picking is insane?? Also why have they latched onto these background characters like Eris and Lucien and Gwyn and put them on this weird pedestal instead of our main group?
Nobody is saying the IC are saints but ... they are the main protagonists of this story?? This is so weird to me that people are truly treating THEM like the bad guys here?
Some Nesta stans have somewhat of a weird attitude, and they feel like Cassian was supposed to grovel perpetually at Nesta's feet. Always take her side. Always support her.
And yes, part of me understands it. You want to have your MMC supporting and being very devoted to the FMC. However, the IC and Cassian arent EVIL and they didn't 'imprison' Nesta. They dealt with this escalating issue imperfectly, but the best they could. What would be the alternative? Allow Nesta to self-destruct completely? Yes, it's similar to the concept of rehab and yes, it's not ideal, but you do what you can.
Cassian is rough. He is written as rough n tumble kind of a dude. A man's man. Yes, his approach isn't delicate, and sometimes thoughtless, but I always felt that putting him against the IC and questioning his loyalties is never fair. Cassian's known Nesta for 1 year. He's been part of the IC for all of his life. He wouldnt just drop everything and take Nesta's side in everything, and just shrug off the IC.
The only thing that bothers me personally, is the way he is obsessing over Mor. I dont know why this is necessary, but I am not interested in that dynamic at all. It's weird and unpleasant.
But no, to me, it would be entirely unbelievable if Cassian took Nesta's side in everything and disregarded Feyre's and Rhys's orders.

Most people see motherhood as a weakness which is the most toxic thought I've ever seen. In my opinion being a mother shows how strong a character is because being one is no easy task. Creating a human in your body and raising them to be a decent person is the hardest job ever. People undermine mothers because there's this idea of woman being able to get pregnant is something natural and they were made to do it so it's not so important or a big deal.
And people keep saying "she's young" and "she should be in a club" are weird to me. Because she chose this. And no she's an adult, even in the eyes of modern society. She's 22 ffs!! She's not a child. Yes she's young but like I said she wanted her child. They say Rhysand could mist the baby in her (istg I've seen them say this and I almost got sick) or why Feyre didn't shapeshift, when there was a risk of killing the child as if she would've deliberately kill her own baby... The baby she wanted so much. Of course they would try to find a ways to save her.
Beside Rhysand kept it from Feyre for 12 days... 12!! And the idea of people thinking Rhysand was going to let her be in the dark proves to me they don't know him at all. He was waiting to be completely sure of everything. He was going to make sure there was no way to help otherwise stressing Feyre which would harm her and the baby even more was pointless. And Madja told him not to tell Feyre. She knew the dangers of it and she, the trusted healer of Rhys, told him not to tell her. She saw fit and thought it's more safe to not tell her for now till they could find a solution to this and Rhys listened because from what Madja said, he didn't want Feyre in any form of harm.
I agree that they, specially Rhysand, should've trusted Feyre more. Like she said, after she find out about it, that she wouldn't let this situation affect her, for her child. That's the main reason why I think we should've had a Feysand pov because this could've been a character growth for both Rhysand and Feyre and their relationship. But we all know, this whole pregnancy plot was solemnly written for Nesta's story which I hate and I take issue with sjm writing.
Okay, I understand people not liking the pregnancy trope but with Feysand I never had a problem. Maybe it had to do with it not being from their pov but if we had read it in their pov I still wouldn’t have hated it.
I’ve seen people argue it contradicts acotar/acomaf Feyre’s wishes, but literally people change their minds in the span of weeks Feyre changed hers over a year and half😭. There was an entire scene and buildup in acofas where Feyre realized she wanted to start her family. Which is entirely okay and her choice. I don’t really see the problem? Also, acotar Feyre was human and disliked the fae and wasn’t at a happy mindset or safe place for herself. It’s completely fine and understandable for her to change over the books, it would be a waste of time for her to stay the same over five 100+ page books😭.
The other argument I’ve seen is that sjm turned Feyre into a boring sit on her ass character with motherhood, this honestly disgusts me. Motherhood should be seen as powerful and in a good way, Feyre wanting to be a mother does not take away from her strength as a character, if any thing it added power to her. And no Rhys did not force Feyre into becoming a mother💀. Feyre literally told him she wanted to start their family, he did not force her or manipulate her into becoming a mother. Now, I hate that he hid the truth from her about the full danger of the birth, but I can also see his side. He didn’t want her to worry the entire pregnancy, that’s not a bad thing. I still think he should of told her the truth but I understand why he didn’t🤷🏼♀️. My biggest complaint is that he ordered everyone else not to tell her the truth, that he went about a family matter in a high lord way.
I hate how people say he sat on his ass the entire time not looking for a solution because he in fact did not do this 😭. He went to Helion about a shield to protect Feyre, asked Drakon about their experiences and solutions with winged births, looked through libraries of his court and other courts, and talked with healers about the best way to save Feyre. He wasn’t wallowing in self pity. He was trying to save her but couldn’t find a way. I personally see this as a bad plot from sjm to make a way for Nesta to redeem herself but it’s whatever I guess 🙄.
I think it’s cute how Feysand decided to have a family. I even like them being parents, I think they’ll be great at doing better than their parents. I like how the ic have a baby to love unconditionally and spoil. I’m excited to see the relationship between nyx and his aunts and uncles in the future books. Especially his relationship with Nesta considering how much it’s clear nes loves nyx in hofas. Plus in acosf she said she’d protect the baby no matter what. I’m very excited to see how perfect of a mother Feyre is since she was described to be one in hofas.
I never saw the baby move and motherhood as a bad thing, but if anyone did please tell me why. I’m open to look at it from a different perspective so long as it’s respectful.
#the way sjm wrote it as if there's no other way to save Feyre shows how much this storyline is unserious lmao#she wanted Feyre's pregnancy to be only a plot device#Both Nesta and Feysand didn't deserve this sort of plot...#feysand#pro feysand#nesta archeron

OOOOO....this is gonna be fun!! For context, I've read all SJM books so my answers might contain spoilers...read at your own risk! I also have strong opinions that many of y’all may not like, I don’t care. It’s fandom, it’s fun, it’s my loves. So if my opinion makes you irate, we don’t need to be book friends anyways 👍🏻💕
1. This is hard...but I gotta go with Queen of Shadows. I fly through that mf every time I re read the series.
2. Throne of glass, it's ELITE
3. Lawd......okay. Aelin is #1 always! I love how badass she is, how much she goes through, grows, and changes, etc. Also even though her independence annoys her team, the way her brain works is mf WILD. Also SJM was scared of what she could do at MAX, GIVE HER HER POWERS BACK!
4. So many, but I got two quotes tattooed on my body so I'm gonna list those. "To whatever end." "Through love, all is possible."
5. Rowaelin and Nestaq (they are so underrated)
6. Gwynriel. Elriel truly makes me want to VOMIT PROFUSELY. I just can't deal with a ship that would be sooo boringly predictable; also those two are not compatible at all in the way other SJM mates/ships are, it would be a disservice to BOTH of them.
7. Kaltain and Emrys, Malakai, and the other dorky kid that are with Aelin in HoF
8. Danika, that bitch had too many secrets jfc. Also the Pack of Devils in general.
9. I don't like Elain right now, she annoys tf out of me, and pissed me off so much in ACOSF with how she treated Nesta; but I know once her book comes out I will be obsessed with her. I don’t mind her softness, I think SJM does such a good job with her soft & strong characters (Yrene, Elide, etc.) I just need that hoe to get a backbone and find herself, bc she is LOST. Not her fault, they had a traumatizing asf childhood, I’m just ready for her growth. I also don't really like Amren, she irks me. Mostly now after ACOWAR; she should've sacrificed herself and died in my opinion, it would've been more impactful. Tharion is also close, but he redeemed himself halfway through book 3, mans is just dumb as HELL.
10. Cassian
11. Dusk court or Night Court
12. I hate all of those mfs; but based on badassness and audacity? Maeve
13. JFC there's so much I would change, Aelin and Nesta should've kept their powers, Feyre didn't need to be pregnant yet, Aelin and Nox should've had a reunion, and I go on. But the main thing I want to change? Lehabah didn't need to die, BRING HER BACK YOU ASSHOLE
14. I don't follow any of the fandom theories bc y'all are wild and so off base most of the time, it's too much 😂😂 though I love the creativity. But I love the CC world that opens up how the universe's are connected, like Lidia and Aelin being related through Brannon and Mala
15. Nesta
16. Overhated? Nesta, y'all are fucking ridiculous about her jfc. You don’t have to like her, bc we all have characters we don’t like for whatever reason, but if you still hate her with your entire soul? you need to grow tf up and touch some grass I am sooo serious 🤣
17. Aelin all day every day
18. Aelin, Nesta, Ruhn
19. I'm not even going to attempt this one
20. @charincharge, @sydneymack, @acourtofheadcanonsandfanfic-blog, and many more that I can't list off the top of my head
21. I have so many saved on archive of our own: queenzoftherealm; on tumblr some of my favorite writers: @morganofthewildfire, @whimsicallyreading, @rhysismydaddy, @acciowests, @darling-cas, @wingsofanillyrian, @feysand-is-life, @thewraithsofmorhogg, & @charincharge again!
Anybody I tagged for awesome blogs/writing I'm passing on the challenge to you & anyone else that would like to do it! Also @unoriginalunethicalslut
Thanks for the tag!!!🥰🥰
