Have you considered that maybe you should broaden your palette and watch things that do have more well written female characters? Rather than just saying they don't exist? Like do you not think that only enjoying things that disregard women to such a degree isn't part of the problem????

i dont really know how to articulate this but its crazy just how many people dont even realize they dont care about female characters. all their faves are men. they never talk about girls without being led into it. and when you try to point this out to them they try to defend themselves that their faves are just the archetypes they like, despite clearly not caring when that same archetype is a woman. like i feel like at a certain point it is your problem with the common denominator if you cant find a single female character to enjoy

I'd like to theorize that the red tokens are alterations to the character's stories. The more tokens, the more nightmarish their stories become.

The reason I say this is because of how Rosamund got her first one. She didn't go down or die it was a spell the Fairy Godmother had AND the effect of that spell was remembering the blue fairy covered in worms.

When we were told Rosamund's story the first time, the 3 fairies were good, and gave her the gifts they were meant to. Then it changed. The Faury Godmother contaminated the fairies in Rosamund's story.

We dont get to see how the stories are changed as they die - they're too busy having their final moments - but I think we get some hints. Gerard's retrieving the golden ball might go worse for him. Pinocchio's dad might be worse off or dead. The Gander might be bolder than just a shadow in the woods next time around.

At the same time, Red's vision doesn't have much of an effect on her story. She learns new information, but none if the other characters make an appearance. Only the Big Bad Wolf does - which is her to some extent. She doesn't see anyone but herself in her vision, so she is the only one that is changed. She is the only one that will remember this loop, I believe. Because the trade off is this: either you are changed or your story and the people you love are changed.

I think the tokens are a quantifiable measure of how recognizable their stories are and, to some degree, how recognizable they are at the end of their quest.

Nombre d'entre nous sommes effarés par la montée globale du fascisme dans le monde. L'Europe est loin d'être épargnée et ce qui vient de se passer aux USA et en Allemagne dans la foulée est extrêmement anxiogène.

On peut se sentir perdu et découragé. Je sais que ce sont des sentiments très fort chez moi en tout cas. Et j'ai très très peur pour 2027.

Ce qui me fait du bien, c'est d'être un peu pro-active et d'apprendre, chercher des stratégies. Si d'autres personnes francophones sont dans la même situation que moi, j'ai deux ouvrages à vous conseiller (chassez la bibliothécaire et elle revient au galop) :

Des électeurs ordinaires: Enquête sur la normalisation de l'extrême droite de Félicien Faury

Les deux ouvrages sont disponibles dans toutes les bonnes librairies et dans de nombreuses bibliothèques.

Résister est à 4€ en epub et le Félicien Faury se trouve dans quasiment toutes les bibliothèques, y compris la Bibliothèque numérique de Paris qui est accessible avec un abonnement gratuit)

Un autre ouvrage que j'aimerais beaucoup lire pour avoir un éclairage historique et qui est souvent cité dans les bibliographies que je consulte est : Manuel du résistant : guide pratique à l'usage du maquis en territoire occupé de Stephen Hart & Chris Mann, mais il est très difficile à trouver car épuisé et peu présent en bibliothèque (si vous l'avez, contactez moi !)

We unexpectedly got some new stuff!

So Zag shared a video in his stories focusing on Angie Nasca, a character designer for Zag, as you probably already know. And it's going to be part of a series, so I can't wait to see more creators and their work!

Anyway, in the video you can see a lot of concept art for Melody: the Movie, and it reveals bit by bit Sunny's backstory. She has a childhood friend named Nina, she used to herd sheep and dream of the big city and one or both of her parents passed away, leaving her with a pink guitar.

Then Angie says she's working on design and story for the next project without saying what it is, but you can clearly see it's Fairy Force.
