It's important to see Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya for what it is doing with Illya as a character. By figuratively passing her through a prism multiple Illyas are created that can explore different aspects of her story.

Miyu allows for Hiroyama to offer a view of what Illya's good ending might look like. Despite being forced into acting as a tool to collect the Class Cards, she is able to connect with others and unlearn the negative behaviours she developed. This parallel is made even stronger with her backstory in 3rei, which essentially presents Hiroyama's take on an Illya route where she is chosen over Sakura.

Kuro is also interesting, as she incorporates Archer's aesthetic, paralleling Shirou's concept of being a 'faker'. Just as Illya in FSN sometimes views herself as a fake human, Kuro is a fake Illya, created through artificial means. Her self-sacrifice in the latter part of 3rei, while a deliberate callback to Illya's at the end of HF, also draws a clearer connection between that and Shirou's own suicidal, heroic tendencies.

Even Pandora is a sort of inverse Illya - a homunculus cursed with too long of a lifespan, rather than too short of one. Her tragedy is not in being abandoned by her family, but in being held too close - Darius's centuries of obsession landing her in the same detached, fatalistic state as Illya in the beginning of FSN.

There are of course other characters that could be mentioned - I think Beatrice is quite interesting for one, and even the use of both kid Gil and Angelica shed some light on this kaleidoscope approach to FSN, but I think those are the most important ones.

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Manga Gets Official English Release

Seven Seas Entertainment have licensed Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya for release in English.
