Forest Guide

Shade listened to the other talk for maybe a minute before swinging her ax down, only bothering to use both hands to make sure it cut the wood nicely. It went through the lumber clean, sticking into the tree trunk she was using as a base under it and making a large gash. She left it there, stuck in the wood, as she grabbed the pieces and took them to her slowly building tinder tower.

“I’m telling you friend, going into that forest just isn’t worth it. Farrian’s got some pretty strong magic, and I’m sure the being in it wouldn’t like me showing you around.”

This is a story of mine that I kind of want to do a graphic novel of.

When I started it- a year or so ago- I didn't think I had the art skills to do my imagination justice, and honestly that's still kind of true, but eh.

If I wait 'till I'm perfect I'll never do it.

This is just a bunch of sketches based around two brothers.

I spent around an hour away from my laptop sketching stuff. Which is pretty fun. I don't do it that often though. Probably should keep off my 'technology' more, but my self control isn't really there yet.

Anyway.

In case anyone's actually curious,

These two brothers are called Farrian and Fen.

Farrian gets bitten by a snake which has various side effects,

Which I'm not going to go into too much detail about here-

But the prominent one being he's more scared of anything to do with how he got injured, along with struggling to get better. His little brother Fen recovers before Farrian. (they were both in a bad situation, but Farrian was the only one who came out injured)

Being the older brother and all Farrian wants to get better faster (how else is he supposed to protect his little brother?) but it doesn't happen.

He still has nightmares, which he tries to hide as much as possible.

It works for the most part.

Fen can tell something's off, but he's just happy to have his big brother back and doesn't realise just how badly Farrian's coping.
