first publication of my academic career dropped yesterday btw. and i? am so fucked up about it
#it was supposed to be a standalone paper i was supposed to be first author#and it got cut up and worked into a bigger piece and i got a 4th writer credit#a semester's worth of work and a national second place with my research and all there's left of it is 2 paragraphs and a figure#FOURTH. not even last. just in there somewhere. thank you :')#i'm so fucking disillusioned with these people. they promised me i could publish it on my own. that i WOULD publish it on my own#and then they decided yknow what. let's cut it up. toss it in there. it's small enough to justify not giving it a full spot in the journal#gonna cry i think#FOURTH AUTHOR. that's worth NOTHING. i need publications FIRST AUTHOR PUBLICATIONS. for my GODDAMN PHD. fuck this for real#veni veni#there are many disadvantages to being a geologist#<- my geo tag but i do mean it this time
