The world premiere of Miloš Forman‘s AMADEUS happened in Los Angeles 40 years ago today. The eight-time Academy Award winning film includes one of the greatest performances I have ever seen in F. Murray Abraham‘s Salieri.

If I had a nickel for every time Danny Pudi starred in an ensemble sitcom where the actor playing the "token problematic old straight white man" turned out to be a problematic old straight white man and had their character killed off because of their inappropriate behavior on set, I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

You knew Pootie wouldn't like it. Yeah, of course I did. But you knew that too, right? You're always three steps ahead.

F. MURRAY ABRAHAM’S unexpected departure from Mythic Quest last year ahead of the Apple TV+ show’s third season stemmed from sexual misconduct complaints, Rolling Stone has learned.
The 83-year-old’s exit was announced last April with little explanation other than producing studio Lionsgate confirming the news regarding the Oscar-winning actor. “Beyond that, we do not comment on matters concerning personnel,” the studio added. Abraham did not comment at the time.
But Rolling Stone has learned that at least two concerns were raised about Abraham’s behavior. The first incident resulted in Abraham being given a warning and told to keep away from some of the show’s actresses, according to a production source. After a second incident was brought to creator and star Rob McElhenney’s attention, Rolling Stone understands that Abraham was let go from the show.
In a statement to Rolling Stone, Lionsgate said, “We take allegations of misconduct seriously and investigate them thoroughly. As a matter of corporate policy, we do not discuss our personnel actions.” Abraham did not return requests for comment, nor did McElhenney, the show’s other creators, and lead actresses.

Star Trek Insurrection premiered on December 11, 1998. Insurrection was penultimate Star Trek film of the first Star Trek film franchise. It is the only film in the original franchise to not speak or show a Stardate. The events in the film took place in 2375. It was one of the few in either the original or the rebooted film franchise to not have any scenes filmed on or near Earth. It was the last Star Trek film to be rated PG. There was talk of killing Data (Brent Spiner), but the idea was ultimately rejected. This was the second Star Trek film directed by Jonathan Frakes. ("Star Trek: Insurrection", Star Trek, Film Event)
