OcTober day 9: Relationships

Didn't have the energy for it yesterday but I wanted to give appreciation to these two! I feel like they're often overlooked when talking about Pink, which is criminal because their found family relationship is incredibly important to the story

The two of them meet eachother when Pink looks for Evan, him being a well known hitman in the criminal side of the city. Knowing that he has killed superheroes before, Pink wants him to train her to kill her father. Evan just sees a starved young child, so he takes her in to take care of her, refusing to let her go down the same path of crime he did.

While Pink hates Evan at the start since he refuses to help her, the two eventually begin to care about eachother more. Upon learning more about her story and seeing that she won't give up, Evan eventually does agree to train her, with one condition: that this will be the only person she kills.

With Taylor having her debut as Parr Friday evening in Cincinnati (a thousand bravos to her, she looks great, I bet she sounded great, and I envy anyone who got to see her!), we have a slight insight into what appears to be the second alternate put-in rehearsal that happened 26 April:

Based on this photo, it seems earlier the same day (Friday, 26 April) the alternates had their second put-in with the following performers:

Kristina: Aragon

Taylor: Boleyn

Amaya: Seymour

Danielle: Cleves

Aryn: Howard

Carlina: Parr

This indicates that Taylor's first put-in was for Parr, and Amaya and Carlina were either on for Aragon or Cleves (smart that production had Amaya and Carlina start with either of these as it's the two roles Wesley doesn't cover and can't entirely help with). This leaves the outstanding put-ins to be Taylor for Howard, and Carlina and Amaya for either Aragon or Cleves (which ever one they haven't done yet).

I'll be seeing this tour tomorrow evening, so I'm incredibly jealous to be one-night off from seeing a debut performance (I got to see Jimmie "J.J" Jeter's debut as Hamilton in Chicago and it was SUCH a special treat!)! But regardless, I'm so incredibly excited to see this production and all these new perspectives on the queens (and to see Cassie as Boleyn for the first time in a well-deserved principal status after seeing her twice as alternate Boleyn)! They're just going to SMASH it!

warfare will be a biographical film about ray mendoza, played by d’pharaoh woon-a-tai, who was in the navy, served for over 16 years, got awarded a silver star for his role in operation iraqi freedom in 2006 (likely will have something to do with that? but we dont know for sure)

production will start in london on may 13th and is planned to wrap on june 17th

the cast: obviously joe quinn, and then d’pharaoh woon-a-tai, kit connor, will poulter, cosmo jarvis, taylor john smith, noah centineo, charles melton, michael gandolfini, finn bennett, evan holtzman, aaron deakins, adain bradley, henrique zaga - BASICALLY 14 pretty men who are all doing a military bootcamp in london rn to get EXTRA buff (and cant go out for carby dinners or for nice drinks, so have to bond in other ways ie go bowling together)

So I got to see Six this past weekend on tour in the US (third time seeing it, first time with an all principal cast, my last two were with the Aragon tour with, ironically, Cassie Silva as Boleyn) and holy crap it was amazing! Literally all 6 of them killed it, and it was so exciting to see so many performers either promoted from alt/rehearsal swing to principal or from cruise to dry land! Kristina, Cassie, Kelly, Danielle, Alize, and Adriana ALL ABSOLUTELY killed it! Get your tickets if it’s near you while you can before they go (I know the largely predicted end date is during the gap that begins in July, but I absolutely wouldn’t mind if any of them stayed!!)

Also it was BCEFA donation season, so as I was exiting the theatre I saw Taylor Sage Evans holding one of the red buckets, and as I dropped in a $20 bill I made sure to congratulate her on her Parr debut the evening prior, and I think she was kinda surprised I recognized her and the fact she debuted lol

Also, embarrassingly, I’m a bad downtown driver, and I didn’t realize the road next to the theatre had a stop light between the two roads perpendicular to the theatre, and almost ran it. As I started pulling forward I realized there was someone crossing the street, looked up, stare the stoplight, and hit my brakes. I looked again at the person and saw a Six beanie and green eyeshadow. I almost hit Cassie Silva with my car (going like 10mph but also the day after she had her mic injury… I shouldn’t be allowed to operate a vehicle, clearly)
