The journalists but pokemon The original intent was that they're a PMD team, but I forgot to add anything PMD related during the sketch so they're just pokemon now

Explanations for all of my choices under the cut

I just chose a luxio for Clive because it's the evolved form of the pokemon I associate most with Luke, shinx.

Emmy is a lucario because I wanted a fighting type, and I like lucario, so it stuck. Also shiny lucario is yellow.

Carmine is an aggron because I wanted a pokemon that had a fairly high defense and also looked kind of intimidating, so aggron was perfect. Also something I wanna point out, I made Carmine's horns intentionally short compared to a normal aggron, because an aggron's horn length is supposed to tell their age. So basically, the implication is that, while he's still the same age as everyone else, he's like level 50-something because of his habit of getting into really bad situations, and it just power-levels him.

It also just so happens that my choices also worked out for my headcannons for their heights, with Clive being the shortest, Carmine being the tallest, and Emmy being somewhere in the middle, albeit exaggerated.
