Summary: Jessie Montgomery is about to get a rude awakening when she meets the notorious California bad boy. But what he doesn't know, Jessie's not some fragile little play thing falling at his boots.
Jessie Montgomery is my O.C.. I do not own any characters relating to Stranger Things.
The desk squeaked behind her as her best friend sat down. Jessie ripped out a page from her notebook, quickly scribbling a note on the paper. She folded it quietly in her lap, keeping her eye on Ms. Anderson as she paced the front of the room, reading from the biology book in her hands. Jessie adjusted in her seat, slipping her hand behind her to pass the note. Her fingers brushed a muscular, blue jean covered thigh. Her eyes widened but she was too late. Fingers snatched the note before she could withdraw it.
Jessie spun in her chair to find the new boy she had heard so many whispers of in the locker room. His blonde curls were styled to perfection, his ocean blue eyes hidden by thick dark lashes as he read the note in his hands.
He smirked, looking up to meet her eyes. God he was gorgeous. "What do you want to do?" Jessie snatched the note from his hands, drawing a chuckle from him. She turned in her seat, crumpling the paper and stuffing it into the open compartment of her bookbag.
She ran her hands through her hair. He probably thought she was a horny tramp like every other girl at this school, throwing herself at him. 'What are we doing tonight?' The note had read. Her best friend Emily was supposed to be in that chair, not him. That was meant for her. It was Friday night and she and Emily always found something to get into.
Jessie tried her best to concentrate the rest of class but it was a useless attempt. Fuck she was probably failing anyway. The bell rang out, signaling the end of last period. Jessie grabbed her things, rushing out the door and to her locker. She had just shoved in her last text book when a pair of boots stopped just on the other side of her locker door.
She watched quietly as he pushed the door closed with his finger. "You don't get to ask me a question like that and then run off sweets." Her dark eyes snapped up to meet his. "You don't get to tell me what to do California. I don't know how they do things out there but that doesn't fly here."
He nodded, licking his lips. "Fair enough, let me try again." He pushed himself off the wall of lockers from where he leant against them. "I'm Billy. Billy Hargrove." Jessie nodded. "I've heard about you." He chuckled again. God she just wanted to jump him right there in the middle of everyone. He smelled like cigarette smoke, cologne and mint gum. His voiced dripped sex. This guy had been around the block. He knew how to play the game.
"What about you?" Billy asked, not getting a response. Jessie swallowed, adjusting her bag over her shoulder. Her badass demeanor was failing her in the presence of an even bigger badass. "Jessie," He nodded once. "Well Jessie, if you're not busy tonight, would you like to see a movie with me?" He had no intentions of seeing a movie. Jessie could see it written on the smirk playing his lips. She had been with guys like him before. Well, not near as good looking but close. Hell her first time had been King Steve of all fucking people. She knew players and their games.
And she also knew what it felt like to feel the heart break when their game was done, tossed aside for the next big adventure. "Maybe next time." Jessie slammed her locker shut, turning away from the boy and heading to the parking lot.
Jessie raced toward her car, seeing Billy cross the parking lot, a cigarette hanging from his lips. She could tell he wasn't used to being rejected. "Jessie!" She turned toward her second best friend, Carol Perkins. Her boyfriend, Tommy H. right behind her. "Are you going to Tina's party tonight?" Jessie tossed her bookbag into her car, beginning to answer her when the midnight blue Camaro roared past them. A angry redhead sat in the passenger's seat yelling at Billy.
Jessie raised her eyebrows in a questioning look. "That's his stepsister or something." Tommy supplied to her questioning look. Jessie nodded, taking the cigarette he offered her. "Yeah, I'll be there. I'm going to pick Emily up first if I can find her." Carol bit her lip. "Good luck with that doll, the last time I saw her, she had disappeared into an empty room with Andy."
Jessie rolled her eyes. Great, she would never find her friend. She lit the cigarette in between her fingers, blowing the smoke into the chilly October air. "Is he going to be there?" Jessie asked, nodding her head toward the Camaro tearing out of the parking lot onto the main road.
Carol looked over her shoulder. " I assume so. Why? Are you looking to play a little game of cat and mouse?" A smile split Jessie's face.
List of Jewish Characters for the Panfandom Hanukkah Bingo
I've gotten a few requests for a list of Jewish characters to help people brainstorm for the bingo -- just as a reminder, Jewish headcanons and fanons are totally allowed for the event, so if you don't KNOW whether your character is Jewish, it's totally fine to make them Jewish for your fanwork! :)
But, since people asked, here is a little starter-list of 225 fictional Jewish and Jew-ish characters (characters who are "nebulously Jewish," played by Jews, are Jewish in at least one variation of the character, only make sense if they're Jewish, etc.)
Feel free to add! This list is alphabetized by first name.

I had a huge reading year this year because of my gruelingly long commute. The list below the cut is mostly for my own edification, but I’m a nosy person who supports other nosy people, so if you want to know what I’ve been up to, have at it. Almost everything I read this year was from the library.
