Kat had been patiently waiting in a nearby tree for almost an hour until he finally walked under her hiding spot. With a grin she began to shake the snow covered branch above her and stomp on the branch she was standing on, sending a large amount of snow falling from the tree. "Heads up!"

Elwin had, quite literally, walked right into the ambush.

Whatever he had been discussing with the Lord Commander was abruptly interrupted and just as abruptly forgotten at the first round of snow coming down upon him. The Archduke looked up just in time to be greeted face-first by the next downpour, this one far greater -- and far colder too, clinging to his hair, face, shoulders...

Rodney was the first to react. What started out as a vain attempt not to laugh soon gave way into a full-bodied roar of laughter. Once the surprise had faded -- and the dark-haired man had shaken some of the fluff from his person, he peered up at Kat, and his lips pulled upwards into a broad grin.

"Well played, my friend! Of course, you must know that this constitutes a declaration of war, yes?" He burst out laughing, too. He was teasing -- well, partially. When she least expected it, he would be getting his revenge for this.
