yeah shows with awesome first seasons are great and all but I have such a fondness for shows that have a strong and promising start, like good television for sure, but then each season just gets even better! it’s truly a joy of TV

How far are you into Arc-V? What are your thoughts?

I just finished episode 49, so I'm officially done with Season 1! Takin a lil break before I get back in it...I'm really enjoying myself so far :3 Arc-V's cast is just delightful, I swear every ygo just puts something in its ensembles that makes me so happy to see all of these guys bouncing around dueling and getting into shit. Also action duels are an absolute blast, one of the best decisions yugioh ever made--they're literally like "what if duels were a Pokemon battle, but also a mid 2000's network tv obstacle course game show ala Wipeout/American Ninja Warrior" and it FUCKING RULESSSS.

also shit is Just Starting to Hit The Fan Enough that I'm getting Scared. slash POS!!! Sick and twisted evil duel academy is already starting to cook me a little. Living in mild fear of Things to Come!!

SO yeah, havin a good one so far, I am... deeply curious to see how the series progress from here. I'm especially on the edge of my seat for when Arc-V supposedly gets Bad. I Love When Yugioh Is Bad.

Lu saves Guzman’s life on the bridge - 1.08

Guzman is in so much pain. Lu is so in love with him. And even though they are so bad for each other in the long run, they get this beautiful moment here, where Lu saves his life, and Guzman for once says exactly what she needs to hear: “I need you, Lu.”

Is it just me or does Cate look super similar to Carla from Elite. Even her hairstyle looks the same. Carla had that same straight blonde hair with the straight side bangs in s2. I feel like they even have similar expressions when they act. I feel like the styling/character was somewhat inspired by Carla’s look

idk if i believe they were inspired by carla, just bc cate’s styling is definitely more casual and comfy than carla’s but i do see the similarities in their characters.

thinking about a fbaf au where Kevin gets put in the squid games, and also thinking about the dragon au, so I guess this is going to be an au of an au so here goes.

Alex in this one is human but has more of his dragon personality/general vibe. Kevin is acquired in similar ways to that storyline, and is that level of prisoner/slave. Mild box boy vibes.

Alex is one of the elites, and he and the other elites aren't shy about having their pets on hand to watch the games, and so the pets get to 'enjoy' the show as well, the way a bouncer would still be able to hear the music of the club.

And since it's canon to squid games, it's possible to have a player be 'safe' as well as being shot without the intent to kill (quickly anyway). I'm imagining a scenario where the elites on occasion send their pets into the games, mostly as a punishment.

Sometimes when the pet loses, it gets shot non-fatally and immediately patched up. This would be if it just needed a bit of a scared-straight approach. But it's always a possibility if it loses it's eliminated properly.

I'm thinking the best stage of kevin's mental journey for him to need a scared-straight kick into the games is about half a year since doing anything remotely suicidal, but still not exactly loving life as a captive, mostly just in the headspace of "death will come eventually I just have to wait." but then got too defiant of Alex and shoved in.

I don't think he would be as obvious as Seong Gi-hun (main canon character) in telling everyone he knows what's happening, or tell people it's a death game before they figure it out (though he may casually refer to it as a death game, anyone who hears would likely assume it's a joke before red light green light starts.) He wouldn't hide his status either.

He would be fairly confident he's not going to die. He is Alex's favorite, after all. Though the pain of being shot and surviving is something he'd rather put off. Essentially, he's trying to win, but if he can sacrifice himself to save another, he'd take it.

I can see him telling anyone who asks about his overconfident attitude that too. I can see him pointing out the cameras in the bedsroom. Can see him saying things like "well, I know the rules of this game, can't say I've actually played it." Can see him almost flirting with the Suits, thanking them whenever they hand things out, and blowing kisses sarcastically, calling them all Dave or something. (Which could be a total guess, but like, what if he actually knew main square guy's real name. What if the elites treat them like favorite announcers/hosts. "Ever since Dave replaced Steve, the orders are so much clearer. He keeps them so well in line, they actually listen to him. What was Steve even doing?")

I can see him being such a brat, trash talking the elites as a whole to other players, if he goes after Alex specifically it's with a sarcastic "master dearest" in there somewhere. Another player asks if it's a good idea to goad someone who has that kind of power over him, and he asks "Oh, what's he going to do about it? Kill me slowly for his amusement?"

The Suits going on about consent would get a wry laugh out of him 100%. During each vote I can see him pretending to think about which option to pick and wasting time, when there's absolutely no way he's voting to stay.

Generally his attitude would be blase, not taking things too seriously. But when important discussions come up, like when phrases such as "and when We win..." start getting thrown around, he gets serious and insists there is always only one winner. Because he knows. Because he's seen the last 7 years worth of games. He knows there's always about x many players left after y game because they run as many rounds as they need to to get it there, or there's natural limits like tug of war or marbles that halve the population, or mingle where you can only fit so many teams of two into those rooms. When the games start he shares popular good strategies with anyone who asks, or his team if he has one.

He'll form alliances but not friends. He'll try but he won't kill another to win. As much as I would want him to participate in the raid for the control room, the simple fact is he would have stood back during the mingle game. He would have done the math like the canon players did or just known from past seasons that this is a musical chairs game and to survive is to kill another. He would have let a Suit shoot him in the leg or shoulder and drag him off in a box to the medical wing. (bonus points if it's 11 shooting him non fatally because obviously. She can shoot to wound when that's the orders.) But damn I'm going to imagine him in the raid anyway.

Legit. The cycle of abuse junk sucks after and is definitely very clearly present from Megatron and Starscream's dynamic and Mes' impact on Star who mirrors those toxic behaviors. It's unfortunate that all of this combined really just adds to the lingering fissure amongst the brothers that just continues to widen with moments like this. Certainly doesn't help with Skywarp looking up to Megatron either I'm sure. It just becomes that much easier for Star to become alienated from them as he lashes out in very direct ways like this.

And it's jus like, auto response too because of stress. I love Stars expression when Warp stepped in, where he has the air of "how dare you" yet with a hint of "wtf". Which I think goes to show that he doesn't rlly connect it in his processor what he did to elicit that reaction.

Our lad just wants to be on the side of power instead of feeling helpless but his bros be like "glitch don't turn that slag on us tf is wrong with u-" which is absolutely fair
