#ENSHA ART LETS GO

After several hours last night, most of my folders have been transferred from my old portable hard drive. They're all organized and consolidated better, too. Except for my Lord of the Rings folder. Tons of early 2000s fic, art, and photoshops. I've got lots of art from Japanese artists, and several fics that are no longer to be found on the 'net. There's stuff where I wonder if anyone else remembers it, or has nostalgia for it. It'll take and age and a half to truly organize that one.
And now that I can type on a real keyboard, let's talk some more Elden Ring.
I started as a samurai, but I got curious about other play styles and started another new game as a confessor. And now that's my new main character. I've got 19 hours into the confessor run. I'm most comfortable with shields and guard counters. And I'm not into the great swords. I'm still using the starting straight sword (Square Up is a great Ash of War), but I can also use the flail. I'm working toward leveling faith just a bit more to use the Winged Scythe. I'm kind of inspired by Mercedes Lackey's Heralds (books I loved when younger, but are due for a reread now).
In that run, I'm currently in Liurnia. And getting my ass handed to me. But, it's fun. It's brutal, but fun. I'm mostly chill about all the dying, surprisingly. Quite frankly, I don't believe the story is all the amazing (nor told very well), and as much as I adore the NPCs, I don't think anyone could figure out how to do most of them without a guide. But the environmental story telling is amazing. Discovering everything I can has been the most rewarding part of the game for me.
I've become fairly comfortable with the Weeping Peninsula, so I'm being way more careful in Liurnia. I need some better upgraded weapons, so it's going through the mines for me. I'm waiting to find some cool white-ish armor for my Herald, but how could I pass up wearing Ensha's gear? And while I've beat Margit, I should go back to take on Godrick sooner or later.
And it's interesting to see how familiarity can change how you play. Going back to play as my samurai, I knew to get the Bloodhound's Fang, and absolutely wreck the Leonine Misbegotten at Mourne first try (after upgrading twice). If I'm playing after my confessor, then I do so much better.
And now I'm kind of wanting to try another new game as a spell caster (incantations are cool and all, but I want some true spell casting). At this rate I wonder if I'll ever make it to Altus.
Also also whoever made trap chests that warp you straight to the hell that is Caelid is the devil.
