Are you stupid?
You can be racist and have POC friends, Jason is way worse than Billy any day. Jason isn't the one being abused by his father everyday, he isn't poor, he didn't get taken from his home and live with a step sibling that he didn't know that well.
Jason is a horrible person and got his friend to tackle Erica, then he held a gun at Lucas. You can't tell me that that isn't racist, you can't tell me that's worse than what Billy ever did. Jason said "I thought you were one of the good ones". That. Is. Racist.
Billy got his bad traits from his father. Billy got beat by his father. Billy was crying into the phone for his mom to come home. Billy had no support system. Steve was the only person that Billy bullied and tormented, and in my opinion, Steve is a worse character than Billy.
Steve threw slurs, while Billy got slurs thrown at him by his own father. Just because you don't care about abuse victims, doesn't mean you have to spread your hate.
I think that Billy just wanted Lucas to stop hanging around because if Neil found out, Billy would be the one getting beat. Neil would probably hurt Lucas way more than Billy could have ever done. Billy was protecting Max and himself, he was scared that Neil would find out. He did care and love Max, he just showed it in some confusing ways.
Also, the Duffer brothers are racist, they wanted Dacre to say the N word. Dacre protested and it ended up not happening. Billy saying the N word isn't canon, cause it didn't happen in the show. Stop always going to that excuse for him being a bad person. He never said any slur.
People say "if the actor wasn't hot, then people wouldn't have liked him" and I disagree. His character is very interesting. He has a backstory, he has trauma, he has an actual interesting plot unlike any other character. Dacre is also a very amazing actor, he was able to make Billy even more interesting.
Dacre has said that his art imitates his life. He put his own life into the character, he didn't have a great relationship with his dad, he has said this.
Max is a horrible person too, she drugged Billy with something that she didn't know was in, almost hit him with Steve's bat, screamed at him before leaving and stealing his car. Billy could have died on the floor, he was drugged and had no car. Tell me that that isn't abuse. Just because Billy grabbed her wrist ONE time, doesn't mean it's abuse.
Siblings fight all the time, it's just what happens. Especially how their family dynamics was. I and many others have fights with our siblings. You get over it in like a day. That doesn't make Billy a bad person. He did some really shitty things, yes. But that doesn't excuse all the hate he gets. He's a complex character, no other character is like him.
That's why he's my baby boy. I relate to him, I'm an abuse victim, I love knowing that I have a character to relate to. Stop blaming abuse victims on how they grew up, they can change. He could have changed if he didn't die. He could have, but nobody let him.
Nobody tried to help him. He didn't have a support system. The people who compare Jonathan to Billy are wild, cause Jonathan did have a support system, his mother did so much. Billy had nobody. His father beat him, hi stepmother did NOTHING to stop Neil, she just watched. She was clearly abused too, but she's the adult, she has to be there for Billy. She has to get Max away from all of this, which in season 4, she did. But she turned into an even worse mom.
Right here. He was trying to get help, he was trying to get the MF to get out. He wanted someone to help him. He kept fighting, and that's how he saved everyone on the day he died. He knew he was going to die, he was sobbing.
Try to think before talking bad against Billy.
Why do people say Vecna/Henry/Jason/Troy/James/Angela are better than Billy?
Vecna/Henry literally tried to kill children and the whole world. Billy wanted to have some fun and games, he would never go to prison for killing a child. He was never going to hit Mike, Lucas, Dustin, or Will.
Troy/James made Mike jump off of a fucking cliff while wanting to take Dustins teeth out. Tell me that isn't fucked. MIKE WOULD HAVE DIED IF EL WASN'T THERE!!
Jason held a fucking gun to Lucas's head and got Erica hurt. He sent a witch-hunt over Eddie and that ended up killing that poor boy. Literally, he was poor and Jason is a rich christian white boy. Tell me that isn't classist. Jason also did this to get information out of a kid.
Angela deserved the roller skate to the face for what she did to El. I would have done the same thing, El never deserved any of what she went through there.
Anyone going to object? Cause you can't, my points are spot on. Why aren't we gonna get mad at Jamie Campbell Bower over saying he relates to Vecna/Henry? If Dacre is bad for doing so, why can't we shame Jamie for the same thing?
I would count the MF taking over Billy like that as a reference of sexual assault. His body gets taken away from him, he is crying for help, he is scared and tried to tell someone. I've talked to SA survivors and they agree.
Anyway, I am pissed at Billy antis and I am just so done with them.

a rich and complex tapestry
When Alex first hooks up with Henry, he's expecting a fun one-night-stand and maybe the occasional booty call. He does not expect to get so completely pulled into Henry’s orbit that it forces him to reevaluate everything he thought he knew about his sexuality. And he's not sure if it makes it better, or way worse, that Henry is actually a professional at all this stuff — what are the odds that Alex would hook up with the one guy on campus who hosts his own radio show about sex? 'Sleeping With Henry' is about to gain one devoted listener.
This was such a satisfying fic to write! It was genuinely one of those that felt like it wrote itself - and I don't know about y'all, but that's not how it usually works for me. Right from the start, I felt so certain of what I wanted this to be: I wanted to write one that really dug deep into Alex's bi realization. That's a theme that features in a lot of RWRB fics, including my own, and of course it's also a vital part of the RWRB canon. With this fic, I wanted to explore that deeply, to really take my time with it and write it in a way that felt vulnerable and heartfelt and very, very real.
I'm bi. And whenever I write about Alex being bi, I am writing a little bit about me being bi - never completely about me, but y'know. It's one of the things that really drew me to Alex's character in the first place, the way his bisexual realization was handled in the book. That realization is something I almost always include in an AU as well - but oftentimes in a oneshot, the timeline for any type of emotional character development can become quite condensed. And while I immensely enjoy both reading and writing oneshots wherein Alex's bi realization takes place over the course of a few hours - in fact, that can be so fun! - in this oneshot, I wanted to let it take quite a bit of time.
Also? I very desperately wanted to write Henry as an irresistibly confident sex guru on late-night radio. What's not to like about that?
In the excerpt below the cut, Alex and Henry have just had sex and Alex is about to tell Henry that actually, he still sort of thinks he's straight. Mostly.
Henry slumps down against him, but he doesn’t immediately pull himself off. It gives Alex a few moments to assess the feeling of his dick in Henry’s ass in a more technical sense, without the burning urgency of an impending orgasm. And it’s… well. It’s nice? He shifts his hips a little, biting his lip when that makes Henry groan slightly.
Suddenly, he’s infinitely curious about the opposite side of the experience.
Henry nips at Alex’s throat, possibly in retaliation to his wiggling. “You alright?”
“I’m fantastic,” Alex drawls. Except then Henry starts to pull off, and Alex instantly palms at his shoulders. “Hey, could you… stick around? I’m having a moment.”
“Is that so?” Henry wonders. He sounds mildly confused, which is way better than put-out. Alex will take it. “If you’re suggesting another round, I’m going to need a bit longer.”
“I mean, we could do that,” Alex says quickly. It’s a great fucking idea. “I was just kinda taking it all in.”
He feels Henry go still against him. “What do you mean?” Henry asks softly.
“Um.” Fuck. It’s possible Alex should’ve mentioned this earlier. “I’m, y’know, mostly straight? Like, about ninety-six percent or so. Historically it’s been a hundred, but recent data suggests otherwise.”
Henry makes a noise Alex can’t quite decipher; it’s both startled and a bit weak, but when he speaks there’s distinct amusement in his voice. “Christ, Alex. I'm not sure you're aware you're saying that with your cock still in my arse.”
“Fuck right off.” Alex couldn’t fight his dumb grin if he tried. This is exactly why he and someone like Henry, regardless of gender, could never work out for real; Henry is way too good at cutting through Alex’s bullshit. Alex wouldn’t stand a fucking chance.

Some fun little tidbits that didn't really fit with the longer lore rambles about my version, but felt too short to get their own posts
.
William Afton: ADORES the circus and clowns. Absolutely collects those clown porcelain dolls you always see at thrift stores. If he never met Henry he probably would've just been a professional clown or something
I don't mean this in a rude way at all and I will not be accepting clownslander at this time
Phone Dude: there are SO many I could give to him but Furby Customizer speaks the most to me right now
Henry Emily: ignoring his love for animatronics, he also really liked arcades! Arcade cabinets and games of all of sorts. I do not know his opinions on pinball however
Also liked murder mystery games n movies. But ah. I think he might have stopped liking those
He would enjoy camping I think. I can imagine him being good at survival in the woods and such, but hm can he fish?
Michael Afton: Would love animal jam. And of course loves those TV drama shows. Actually just for that I'm gonna give him a hc based on my great grandma who loved tv operas, he collects fancy dishes and likes apple themed things. Would have a tiny dog if he trusted himself to take care of it properly, Helpy is a good tiny dog substitute
Mrs Afton: Very much enjoyed dancing and ballerinas. When William was buying clown dolls he would also be on the lookout for ballerina dolls or figures to give her. She definitely owned like at least one ballerina music box
.
Fun fact! In my lore Springtrap named himself that, and wasn't given an "official" name by Fazbear Fright's staff. However Peter (phone dude) liked to call him Wallace
.
I'm thinking that Evan witnessing William's springlock failure definitely played a part in his fear of animatronics. Because I've already put that before the bite in my lore's timelime
.
I know it wasn't really meant to be seen as this but-
I take the fnaf 2 phone calls (first night specifically) as implying the 87 location is the first to have walking/freeroam animatronics, at the very least the first to let them leave stage while open
Foxy go go go is generally seen as before that, being in '85 location most likely. So it's fun to imagine that the foxy running is just a guy in a suit who's about to have a terrible day
.
It's not strictly important when or why. but Elizabeth and Mrs. Afton died at the same time in my au, and it was at least before the baby animatronic could even be considered
This is because I removed Sister Location from my lore. And I'm not sure what to do with Elizabeth now. If anyone helps me come up with a good idea, though, I'd definitely consider bringing her back! I miss her </3
She'll still have to die around the time she did in canon though, so yknow
.
Evan and Elizabeth collected My Little Pony together, and later would've collected Ips too
.
"Tell us about Vanessa!"
Right off the bat I can tell you my Vanny and Vanessa are the same person! No weird secret double confusion like what sb did, they're the same!
While I'm still not sure if Security Breach exists in my au, Vanessa is definitely staying anyway! I'm determined to squeeze her in somehow, she's so much fun to work with ^v^
(I wonder if I can work Glamrock Springbonnie into my version's Security Breach somehow. I'm definitely gonna try >:)
The hardest part about adding vanny (and security breach as a whole) is that my version of William isn't nearly as determined to kill kids as canon, I think the first dip in old man consequences' lake wouldve stopped him. BUT! He STILL hates fazbear ent, so now I'm imagining that instead of possessing Vanny to kill kids, his ghost(?) just tries to convince her to try and close the place down. Causing mechanical failures and breakdowns and such. I think that'd be fun ^v^!!
Less of murder and more of shenanigans
Also also, bonus fact. William is definitely bothering Vanessa specifically because she looks like Elizabeth. Vanny and Jeremy are both characters he sorta mentally adopts because they remind him of his dead children
#darlingsfnafau: lore rambles#darlingsfnafau#i dont. want to tag all this#reluctant follower#William afton#henry emily#phone dude#Michael afton#mrs. afton#crying child#elizabeth afton#fnaf#five nights at freddy's#purple guy

I'm angry about Ted leaving to go back to Kansas but thinking about it, it is in character? Ted is not a person that would ask his ex wife and son to uproot their entire lives to go to London for him he is however, the type of person to put his own wishes and happiness on the back burner to make his loved ones happy. Also, realistically coaches usually don't stay coaches long, so it doesn't make since to ask his family to move to London when he might not have that job forever? So yeah Ted leaving sucks but it does make since if you think about it. Perhaps we will get a special with him coming back to Richmond one day? I can't wait for all the fix it's that are coming tho!
You and me both, anon!!! I fully plan to immerse myself in fic this weekend, as I know the speedy writers will have gotten at least some stuff up by then :D And I never thought about a special... Honestly, I've been praying for a Season Four after that ending (even though it would feel weird after the show "finished") but hell yeah, I'd take a short, canonical special to patch at least some of this up.
Regarding his characterization, I do think Ted has made great strides when it comes to speaking up for his own wants and needs. Just this season I'd point to things like his judicious use of the Diamond Dogs (turning to others for advice before making big decisions, something he notably didn't do with Kansas), his playful "You know how I feel about winning and losing, Trent" (acknowledging his newfound balance between striving for professional goals and people pleasing), and his entire speech to his mom, complete with cursing her out multiple times (recognizing when he hasn't been treated well and acknowledging that with full emotion behind it, rather than trying to bury it all behind a smile). I think that last one is nicely paralleled with what Beard and the others think is happening with Ted and Nate. Meaning, they believe Ted is once again burying his anger and feelings of betrayal, not realizing that he's already worked through his disappointment and come out on the side of forgiveness. The point though is that until Beard realizes that Nate is simply him X number of years ago -- a friend of Ted's who betrayed him and now needs a second chance -- he continually calls Ted out on (supposedly) burying those emotions and the need to acknowledge them.
All of which is to say that one of the (smaller) reasons why the Kansas ending hurts is because it does feel like Ted has gone backwards in terms of his growth... but I do get where you're coming from. 100%. Ted remains an incredibly self-sacrificial person, even after all the work he's done, so I think we could make a case for him being averse to putting Michelle and Henry out like that, or even putting them in the position of making a choice by saying, "I've decided to stay, you decide whether you'll move here or we'll keep this long distance." So yes, it's potentially in character for Ted -- or at least a Season One/Two version of Ted -- but that still leaves the rest of the cast OOC as a result. If Kansas was meant to stem from the flaw we've seen Ted embodying since day one -- AKA putting aside his own happiness to make it easier on someone else -- then EVERYONE should be calling him out on it. He has a support system now that is tailor-made to spot Ted's unique pitfalls and, like they've done in the past, gently and even not-so-gently correct him. If this was Ted's line of thinking, I would expect the writing to have him verbally acknowledge that at some point, leading to one of Rebecca's exclamations of "Bullshit!" Roy going, "That's fucking stupid." Beard muttering an "Oh my god" and looking like he's reading to kill him, a la the Paris assumption. Higgins shaking his head, Trent hesitantly raising a hand with a pointed correction, Keeley coming in with a bucket-load of concern, the team all sharing confused mutterings as they try to work through this ridiculous perspective, Ted's actual therapist getting to talk to him for the first time in an age and providing professional insight.
It might be in character for Ted to self-sacrifice like that, but it's out of character for everyone else to just let him do it. So we're left with this strange, dual reading of a) Ted is Totally Happy about going back to Kansas... he just doesn't look or sound or act like it. Funny that! or b) Ted is Very Unhappy about going back to Kansas and everyone around him (with the exception of Rebecca a bit) just shrugs and accepts that when they've never let Ted wallow in his self-damaging decisions before.
As for the other bit, I don't know anything about coaching, but I do know that Ted Lasso has played too fast and loose with those rules for it to really matter. I don't think we can argue for realism now when we started this whole story with a totally unqualified American football coach getting hired, the kitman is made a coach in like a year, Roy accepts his job by dramatically walking onto the pitch in the middle of a game... Even if coaches don't last very long irl, it's not like the show has ever adhered to such real world rules before, so there's no reason for them to start informing our reading of the story now.

I guess that's the general problem when it comes to "canon ship with history" vs "fanon ship with chemistry", because whereas the ship with history is going to be an endgame no matter what despite trials and tribulations, fanon ship is only for a moment and usually it could be a weaker link when you think longer about it so there usually is put a bit more work into making it more believable just to confused the audience and keep them on the dark on who actually gets the win in the love triangle. However, because of that, the endgame ship just doesn't feel as engaging because it Has pointless drama in hindsight and there's hardly any focus on why they would work because it should be obvious right off the bat, but need flash: it absolutely isn't, and that's rather bad writing of an overused cliche trope that in itself started to be just bad and almost impossible to make it work.
While Lena and Max also had their issues that were also an agony to watch, ultimately the show did focus on building their relationship more and properl, whereas they kept the distance between Lena and Henry and any potential build-up they had Has already happened before the series started and why I don't mind Lena and Henry together, I do think that they Simply just should have drift Apart while perhaps being close friends. They changed each other's lives, but they also grew up individually while doing so, so I would say it would be realistic.
Agreed on Nico.
I can understand why no one searched for Pinky since: he told Frank directly he quits, and Frank would respect that (especially when at one point he did intend to actually fire him in season 1); Clive is such an airhead that no such thought would cross his mind; Lena and Thea don't particularly care that much to bring him back as they're not that close; Ines Has a fatal flaw that she refuses to face her hurt feelings head on, especially when it comes to heartbreak and if her memory returned, so would return the memory of breaking up with him and Ines never learned how to talk with her exes. It's still a crime he was left behind, but no one have those kids a proper lesson about ✨healthy communication ✨
Not me picturing Pinky and Frank having a fight while annoyed Clive is working on some time piece only to turn around with a flare while Frank and Pinky are just too scared to actually upset Clive (he's too Smart and powerful, they're done if Clive turns against them) so they act like best bros as he looks, while also being visibly scared.
Yeah, I agree Frank and Lena as chosen ones should be enough, and it would also add more legiteness on finding out who the actual chosen one is, because on one hand Lena is MC, on the other Frank Has serious prezencie in the show do if he was the chosen one, it wouldn't feel cheap. Perhaps that way there would be a better way to figure out how to redeem Nico/Max in a believable and satisfying way.
To be fair, I barely can find anyone active in this fandom, but I've seen this take mostly but indeed, it absolutely made sense for Dash to leave and it was a good writing move. What was a bad writing move was to never bring him back. He was more valuable than Claudine who for some reason kept coming back (no hate on the actress, I guess she was more available). What defones a hot take is nlt whether it makes or makes no sense, but if there would be a majority people disagreeing or even losing their minds over it, viewing it as controversial because of it
Find me in Paris or how not to give a proper send off to a character
Find me in Paris tells the story of Lena, a girl from 1905, who ends up in 2018 because of Time Travelling. She is hunt down by the Bureau an organization who is controlling Time Travelling and time travelers. Lena not being in her time period constitutes for the Bureau an offense. She is also chase by the time collectors, outlaws time travelers who do not respect the rules of the Bureau and who are also hunted by him. In the meantime, Lena is trying to be a ballerina in the Opera of Paris.
Find me in Paris is one of those shows that have an endearing charm to it that make overlook all his flaws. But there one aspect of the show that i dislike a lot : it's how in season 3 they end the storylines of 4 characters in a very disappointing maner. This, probably way to long, post will approach the way the show handle the departure of Max, Thea, Pinky and Clive.
I want to preface that i don't know and don't want know the behind the scene details which led to the departure of the actors/characters. The writers have to work with a minimal time frame to make those exit, since 3/4 leave in the second episode of the season. It's wasn't an easy task. But the way they chose to send off those 4 characters wasn't great . I will now discuss each of them separately to explain why it's doesn't work for me and why i'm even mad at the way they handled those characters.
Max : After be one of the main love interest of Lena for 2 season, Max vanish at the start of season 3, leaving behind only a letter (accompanied by a voice over). After being seriously injured in season 2, he leave the school because he can't be cured. He is the only one we don't see on screen, only a montage of some of his scenes after Lena read his letter. His dream of becoming a dancer is now out of reach. A very depressing end for someone who was until that point one of the main characters. Max is in weird position because if you had asked me before that who is gonna end up with Lena, i was sure it's will be him. I'm not even a big fan of Max and Lena's relationship mainly because at the start of the show they were both in a relationship with someone else. But Max was the best of Lena's love interests: Henry, her boyfriend at the start of the show, was very tiring at times and Nico, a Bureau agent's introduced in season 3 is an interesting concept but it didn't work (at least for me). And the weirdest thing was that before Max left, it was clear that they would end up together. Max's father is also still in the series even after his departure.
Thea : After be for two season my favorite character, Thea chose to stay in 1905 to focus on her career. Alright, she was in 1905 in the first half of Season 2 and wants to go back to that time. In addition, her encounters with the Bureau leave her very afraid. So it makes sense that she wants to leave behind all this time traveling stuff and focus on her career right ? It's not like season 2 spent a lot of time trying to bring Thea back into present time. And also show her altering history and Lena fuming seeing that. Its also don't make sense that no one declare her disparition because, unlike season 2 where Lena and Ines where alimenting her social media account, no one do it in season 3. Pinky said she is on tour and that's it. And above all, it does not fit with the personality of Thea who until now don't give in on nothing. At the end of season 2 she wanted to live both in present time and 1905. Settling for less, for only 1905, was out for her character. Later in the season Frank said that he miss her and to quote him "the tour is only a few more months" implying that he is waiting for her. But that's it (the show had another love story in store for him). The funniest thing about her exit is: since Thea isn't in her proper time period now she can be a target for the Bureau...
Pinky : After Ines's had her memory erased by the Bureau, Pinky chose to not time traveling anymore. Since season 1, their love story has been built and it was interesting because Pinky was one of the time collectors and Ines Lena's best friend. After Pinky lose, as he said, the only girl he ever love he quit in episode 2. During episode 10 Ines regain her memory. One episode later she have a exchange with Franck and both of them are sorry for the loss of their respective love interest. I find Ines answer's strange when Franck said that he is sorry about Pinky to what Ines said "not talking about it". For all we know Pinky is still in the present. Why Ines don't try to reach to him ? And mind you it's in the same conversation that Frank says that he miss Thea and is waiting for her return form the tour, what Ines acknowledge. ... then few episodes later they start to date each other. The worst thing is : there are pretty cute together and work pretty well as couple. If we ignore the fact that Frank's friend that he see as his brother is somewhere sad that the love of his life lost all memory of him...
Clive: In the seventh episode of the season Clive go to the present with Claudine. He leave her there and mention going back in time to ride the dinosaurs then pass the portal to never be seen again...AND I WAS MAD... In season 2 Clive is erased by the Bureau and it's a huge deal for Frank to get him back. Finally after almost a season the trio of the time collectors will be reunited again...for Pinky to leave. But I was still hopeful the first time i watched the show. We didn't have Clive for most season 2 but we will have him for season 3....until episode 7 i guess...And Frank never ask about time again...
So to resume, for all we know : Max had to give up his dream, Thea is stuck in 1905, Pinky is wandering sad and alone in the present (meanwhile his bff is dating the only girl he had ever love) and Clive could have been eat by a dinosaur.
What all of those characters send off have in common : they never got an actual ending of their story. The show end without giving us a proper closure. If we have to keep the same exit for all of them there a solution to give them and us closure. At the end of the show Lena overtake the bureau and form a new bureau with Frank and Nico. Why not having a character saying that there are searching for a time period where Max injury's is curable or saying that Max is now is the futur and follow a traitement. Or if we don't want to involve Max in time travel why don't we see his father talk about him and say he's fine. For Thea you can have Lena fuming seeing all the change that she curently making for dance's history and that she will send someone to take her back in the present. For Clive, Frank find his painting and that he become a famous peintor in the past (referring to the painting of the time collectors painted by Clive in season 2). And for Pinky....actually he is one of the most screw up by the show (Max too but not in the same way)... so someone (maybe Henry ? Pinky helps him in season 2 and I don't see Frank mentioning him and i can't think of someone else speaking about him) can say he is doing fine traveling the world in the present ?
All to say that never really mentioning them again after their departure of the show was very strange. At least we have Jeff mentioning time to time that he miss Max and Thea...But he is the only (Jeff MVP of Find me in Paris). Maybe i'm over dramatic (just a little). But I like this show and its characters. When I watch the show again I wonder if I should stop at the end of season 2, but it's not really an ending. So I'm watching season 3 and I'm pissed off at how they treated these characters.
You have reached the end of my wanderings. See you somewhere in time !

- A masterclass in worlds between worlds - (Hey, what do you get if you put every Henry into a designated bar? A very bad time and not only because of the theoretical possibility that Hans Dsaftale might be there with the others. Now, what do you get if you LOCK one of the Henry’s into the bar as punishment for almost getting his own universe destroyed? A very exhausted Henry who’s just trying to make sense of the things he is seeing. If he hates it, at least he wants to understand it.)
- - - “Okay.” Henry started. Everyone was listening up as soon as that simple word was leaving his lips. This would be entertaining. It always was. Sure, there was some groaning in the back, but even they knew that would be hilarious. Lengthy, but hilarious. Well, maybe they would be the only ones laughing, but they don’t count their losses. Free entertainment is free entertainment. Henry stared into the people around him, before scoffing and pulling out an incredibly large board, with multiple pins on it, as well as notes and photos. “Hear me out. I have cracked the code.” Ah, one of these. “This will be one of the more lengthy of these, so you will need to bear with me.” One final cough from the audience and he was good to go. “Fantastic. Now, I want to introduce a concept to you. And I think it is something groundbreaking, as it is connecting to the very concept of souls. Alright, let us start off with the core concept of a soul. If it is an imprint of our very self, of our deepest emotions, desires and motivation, what truly moves us… then it is not only logical conclusion, that it also what dictates what draws us in or repels us? Of course it is. Thus, we can easily conclude that our soul ITSELF has needs and desires. “We like what we like” and “you should not fight over taste” are very wise statements indeed, absolutely true. But where do these tastes even come from? From our soul? Our liking for colors, aesthetics, for food and for music? Yes, surely there is a very psychological connection to it, due to experience, but… I think it runs deeper. What does this imply? That our souls comes inherently with NEEDS, with desires coming from our deepest core that we cannot possibly satisfy ourselves. This is further proven by our DEPENDANCE on other people. “The human is a social animal”- but what does that mean? How can a creature perish merely because of lack of contact? Perhaps it is hardwired into our spirits to need the interaction of ideas, the essence of others, because we cannot provide this for ourselves.“ The place broke out in quiet mumbling, while Henry adjusted the board behind him, to connect the dots visually. “Now, that we have established that every soul has needs, I think we can directly move onto the concept that every soul has DIFFERENT needs. It would make sense to try to find similarities in the needs from soul to soul, as you would assume it has the same baseline… but due to our experiences with souls, we have to accept that in terms of needs, souls differentiate severely from each other. Much like plants are awfully different based on species, I am willing to admit that souls CAN be similar in their nature and have similar needs, but souls exist in borderline endless versions, meaning most souls widely differentiate from another.” He paused, dramatically. The room was silent. “What does it mean, you ask?” Nobody actually asked anything. “I am glad you asked. Why is this important? Simple. Self-control and optimization. During my studies of multiple different multiverses, I realized an abhorrent flaw in the mental system that is me. Mainly, and believe me dear audience, I hate to say it, my draw to what I tend to consider “weakness”. Yes, I know, I know. Implausible. Impossible! But it is true. Except, it is not WEAKNESS." He smashed both of his hands on the bar in front of him. "It certainly seems like it and technically speaking IS weakness, but it is not outright weakness. It is not cowardice, it is not indecisiveness, it is not ignorance, which I all would call true symptoms of weakness. Fragility might also be a part of it, but not necessarily. That is what makes it so intriguing. And by fragility I do not quite mean instantaneous shattering. It is more a mixture of dependence and- okay, I think there is a lot of it to do with dependence. But what is there to dependence? Whatever would make that alluring? I will tell you. It took me a while, but my working theory is this: There is some sort of... resonance, dare I say. An echo of our own fear and worry, we see in them something we fear to be in us! And thus, caring for that person, defeating the weakness within them, satisfying the dependence, it proves to us we can defeat it within ourselves as well!" One of the attendance rose his hand. "Okay, but what about simple narcissist function? Occam's razor. The easiest answer is that we are simply searching for supply for our ego." The presenting Henry wildly waved his hand around in disgust. "No! That is not what it is. Obviously. Otherwise, the codependency that at least somewhat evolves even from our side would not grow WORSE. We would grow tired of it. But that is not happening. No, the longer it goes on, the worse it gets! The only reasonable solution is to assume that our traits are calling out for those that will COVER them. Our loyalty and capability calls for NEED in the other soul, for insecurity and reliability. Trustworthiness, for our loyalty. Our detachment from any given reality calls out for something that we directly can control and influence, a real, breathing example of our effect that we can have. There is an incredibly fragile balance to be struck, of need and trustworthy purity, as well as absolute willingness to give up everything that makes them themselves in the first place, as we have some sort of all-consuming ego, with our individuality being our most important part, so important in fact that we need to be able to impose it onto others to feel secure-" He was interrupted. "So you are saying we are some sort of former eldritch abomination given human flesh for some reason still trying to live out or former desires?" Henry paused a bit irritated. "I mean... maybe? Unlikely, but-" Another voice. "Hey, does this "calling out" thing not imply that people who get attracted to people who torment them deserve it? Because if so, that is pretty fucked up of you." "No! I mean- well, we are talking about underlying NEEDS, that does not necessary equate to it being lived out in-" A pink Naga leaned back. "No, no, I agree. Prey isss prey. It cannot bear being anything different. It needsss to feel like it." "Shut up, nobody asked you." A bit annoyed Henry tried to dismiss him. Desperately he tried to get back to the point he was trying to make for what felt like an hour by now. "I propose the following: There is not actually such a thing as soulmate, but it is more akin to a spiritual form of chemical bonding. Some bond easier than others, like hydrogen. For souls that mean they have less specific requirements to keep up a truly fulfilling bond, or have an easier time filling the other's lacking traits without needing much back. What is needed from their bond is what we call out via our souls, creating a type, but said type is intended to cover the things our souls cannot satisfy or eradicate within itself. Thus, my conclusion is that a soul bond forms for a soul much more on what people lack than their strength. If the lacks fit well with the lacking of the other person, they manage to fall into place-" This time he wasn't even allowed to rant. The bartender Henry next to him gave him a flick with his demonic tail and poured himself a drink. "I love it when people who never had a relationship try to explain them. Very cute." "I- TECHNICALLY speaking you can become an expert on everything via the theory, I did a lot of studies-" "Oh god, wait, so you cucked yourself?" The succubus watched with delight as the most annoying Henry's face went from pale to red. "Cut it out you filthy whore." "You are merely jealous that unlike you, I not only get to fuck my boyfriend all day, but also get magical abilities for it." That was enough, the poor Henry, who was just trying to find answers, held his ears closed like some sort of child and had a silent breakdown. It wasn't easy hanging out with such an awful version of yourself. Especially if that version couldn't stand you and loved to tease you about shortcomings that he would of course know by heart. The other Henrys lost interest at that point. Show's over. And nobody learned anything. No, it wasn't quite the void, but Henry surely wished to get back there instead of being stuck here, serving drinks to his much more pathetic, yet somehow much more successful versions. Oh, hell had many faces. For now he had to deal.

Eeeeehhhhh *Makes happy sort of teakettle noise as Belle goes from 'foot placed between his legs' to 'climbing onto his lap'. Adds in huge grin as she tells him to use his words and starts getting off on his meekness and obvious praise kink* Ugh I want to play with his hair, too. '(He) felt taut and strong beneath her legs' is an EXCELLENT phrase.
Him not using his first name because he was named after his shitty father was a good idea...I'm not sure if I've seen that in a fic before? It makes sense, not to mention the inherent confusion of having two people with the same name living together, unless they share a name that can be shortened in different ways. (Edward could be Ed, Teddy, Ned, Ward, etc.). I like Rowan as a Gold name; it's one of a handful that I don't mind seeing re-used because it seems to fit him well. And it's kind of fun because it's a wood that's supposed to keep away the fairies, and canon Rumple certainly doesn't have any fondness for them.
And...apparently Belle now has other things on her mind than asking why he was stealing a children's book. "A SUBSTANTIAL SUPPLY OF CONDOMS"? BELLE, WHY DO YOU A DRAWER FULL OF CONDOMS IN YOUR LIBRARY OFFICE? LIKE IF YOU WERE FEELING HOPEFUL FOR FUTURE ENCOUNTERS OR USING THEM ON TOYS, SURELY THEY WOULD AT LEAST BE IN THE BEDROOM OF YOUR APARTMENT? WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THERE DURING THE DAY? Oh thank you for having Gold ask this question, and having a reasonable answer. Except now I wonder if MM has a demonstration dildo that she uses to show how to properly apply a condom and I don't know what to do with that mental image.
Since why he wanted the book was never addressed, I have a helpful suggestion! After he explains, she could suggest that, until he can find a copy of the book to order, that he could record himself reading the stories for Henry to listen to. It would actually be kind of nice for a young Henry who doesn't get to see his grandpa that much because they live in different cities to be able to hear the stories read to him in his grandpa's voice. (Imagine Belle inviting Gold over to do this after the library closes for the day, and enjoying listening to him herself as she putters around tidying up. Or she could even lend her voice when there's a female character speaking in a story! Or imagine a group of kids clustering around Henry at recess to listen to the stories because they don't have the book yet either, and Henry actually making some new friends out of this and being able to pass along the kids' gratitude for Gold's doing this, and comments like "Paige says you have a really nice voice" lol.)
Caught, a sequel to Distractions
Rating: E.
Summary: There are certain things money can’t buy. Like love, or trust, or a copy of a newly released best-selling book your son might desperately need. And for those things his chequebook could not provide, Mr Gold had the Storybrooke Library.
Sequel to Distractions.
Author’s Note: @phoenixwrites suggested the idea for the sequel to Distractions, an angsty plot bunny about misunderstandings and miscommunication. And though there is some of that, this is mostly sex.

Okay, let me try to clarify things as there seems to be some confusion... Henry Walsh Avondale Estates, GA DEC 20, 2017 — Oiy and vey this has been difficult... Okay, it seems people mistook my last update and got an implied meaning that I never intended, so I am going to be as blunt and direct as possible. I never slammed the supporters of this petition. Contrary to what ComicBook.Com wrote (twice) first accusing this petition of being spoiler laden, and then second saying that I had reversed my position and slammed supporters. Neither of those things happened. I still do not like this film. I only know that the petition, which was made in a moment of compromised common sense, can't achieve the goal that was set for it. It was meant as a way to blow off steam, and in the grand scope of realism there is a 0% chance that Disney would strip TLJ from canon, and they absolutely won't delay Episode IX to remake Episode VIII. That was a flight of fancy, and a sarcastic statement. Do I think The Last Jedi is good? No. I feel that it doesn't get characterizations correct. I feel that it was poorly written and that, intentionally or not, Rian Johnson insulted the hardcore fanbase repeatedly and made poor use of the assets he had available with regards to classic characters. Killing legendary characters off-screen then introducing new characters in roles that classic characters could have filled better and losing the emotional impact and weight those classic characters would have brought to the series. I feel that some of the decisions made hurt the franchise. I am still torn up about the ending. I have not been, as some people accused, bought off by Disney. I wish I *was* bought off by Disney, I could use the money, but no I didn't change my tune on the liking of this film. If you can please stop sending me threats I would greatly appreciate it. What I did do, however, was urge you to all aim your signatures and donations into a better direction. That isn't me saying you shouldn't sign this petition to show Disney you're annoyed at them. Please feel free to do so. That being said, we have, at the time of me writing this, over 25,000 people in one place. We are all passionate about Star Wars. This is a tremendous amount of power that can be used for good. So yes, I still urge everyone coming here to sign petitions that are important, I urge them all to help people who are in need, because we are people and we are gathered, and it is the holidays, and that is just a decent thing to do. This petition probably shouldn't have hit this critical mass. Certainly not to the point that it has been featured in pretty much every news site out there. I shouldn't be getting threats, and worse, over a petition, and I have been dealing with such all day. So to clarify: 1. No I don't like The Last Jedi. I would actually love Disney to strip it from canon, I just know such a thing isn't (and never was) a realistic goal. 2. You should all help people, as we always should help people, because that is just a decent thing to do. My concern is that the popularity of this petition could pull the focus off of things that might be more important. 3. You should *not* be throwing threats around at people. This was a way to blow off steam, I have said that from minute one, and show that people were displeased, but you shouldn't be threatening people. That isn't cool. 4. To restate one last thing: "I am not slamming anyone who signed this." I am passionate about Star Wars too. I didn't like the Last Jedi. I was very upset at the film. I just don't want people to have unrealistic ideas of what this petition can actually accomplish. 5. I'm going to use this thing to do good... So each and every day I will use the ability to send out an update to direct people to worthy and good causes. Why? Because that is a decent thing to do. Today I'm going to direct Star Wars fans to visit "A Force For Change" https://forceforchange.starwars.com/ I'm not saying like the current film. I don't. I'm not saying don't sign this to show Disney you're upset, by all means please do. I am saying that you can do that *and* still help people. The Force Will Be With You, Always... Source: https://www.change.org/p/the-walt-disney-company-have-disney-strike-star-wars-episode-viii-from-the-official-canon/u/22155487 But hey let's mock everyone who hated it regardless of their reasons because they must all be paint-huffing basement dwellers.
