As much as I want a new 7th Dragon game, Code: VFD's ending being the player remaking the 7D universe without the Dragons makes these the only options:
Remake any of the existing ones (which would be retreading old ground)
Make a new game between 2020-II and VFD (which screws with VFD)
Make a new game after VFD (which retcons it)
Make a new game before 2020 (which screws with 2020 and 2020-II).
