...Doctor Who?

I am a huge fan of Doctor Who, especially his 12th incarnation in the person of Peter Capaldi 💘

For me, the 12th incarnation of the Doctor is the most worthy and logical conclusion to the entire history of the Doctor as a whole. The series with him are full of not only interesting stories, puzzles and confrontations. Questions are asked that the Doctor himself thinks aloud on a more philosophical level, asks himself if he is a good man and what weight banal human kindness has in our world.

He differs from all other incarnations in his maturity not only externally, but also internally, which makes him my inspiration and motivation, gives me principles that I would like to follow in life.

Mortality - a small blurb of The (12th) Doctor x reader

“I don’t like flowers much, what about you?” You say, spinning the daffodil between your fingers. 

The Doctor looks up curiously, plucking the plant from your hands. “Flowers are beautiful. Sad, but gorgeous.” he stops to smell it. “They’re the most mortal thing on this planet.”

“How?”

“Well, for starters, they’re constantly being plucked and pulled from their homes and—”

You start to laugh. “Homes?” 

“Yes, homes. How could you think that where they live, eat, and grow weren’t their homes?” 

Your face falls. “Well, i mean… They’re plants. They’re not like us.”

“I’m not like you either.” he gestures to himself. “I’ve got two hearts!” He begins to pluck more flowers, setting them gently in his other hand as he slowly forms a bouquet. “And you’re not like me.”

“So?” 

“So, I haven’t got you chained up, do i?” He smiles as you shake your head. “That’s the problem with humans. If it’s different, it’s either wrong or entertainment.” 

“But—”

“No,” he snaps, “drop it.” He hands you the bouquet.

“You do realize you just did what you yelled at me for doing, right?” Yet, you smile as you smell the flowers. 

“Yes, it’s usually how i work best.”

how to watch the 2005 reboot of doctor who in the correct order (more or less)

i couldn't find a good enough list for my friend, so i made my own using everything i could find! i put all of the sources i used at the end of the doc.

many articles skip certain mini-episodes and specials. lists that show up on google can be intimidating and confusing, or lackluster, so i tried to make it comprehensive and pretty!

i also took the time to find the best links for everything not on bbc iplayer!

it could save beginner viewers so much frustration and ensure that they actually get to see these wonderful mini-episodes!

i didn't include classic who or anything outside the realm of official/official-adjacent video because i'm not really qualified to and it's outside the scope of this particular list.

some of the decisions for the order and for what was included/excluded are my own informed opinions, but feel free to disagree and i'll change things if i'm convinced! it's not technically chronological or even perfectly by release, but that goes out the window with a time travel show on this scale! this is the order that makes the most sense. also, i didn't add the release years of things because it would've been too confusing with the sheer amount of stuff.

please feel free to take full use of it and spread it around as much as you want! i think it's SO GOOD and i had to share it with the world!

Best thing about Doctor Who, and I mean this so genuinely, is the way it goes from ‘haunting Celtic folk mystery about death and penitence’ to ‘what if your group chat banter was so dire that your phone developed sentience and tried to kill you’

im a doctor who defender (defending this show from like the worstests ever. this show is terrible and wonderful but if your critique of 13th/15th is "they don't feel like drwho" how do you think classicwho fans felt watching 2005 drwho. this show evolves. you could even say this show.... regenerates.......)

okay, so you know that theory that series 14 is a tv show, that's why there are so many fourth wall breaks, etc, etc. well, what if we had a weeping angels episode this season? it's the climax of the episode, ruby and the doctor are surrounded by angels when...nothing happens. they forcibly close their eyes just to check, but the angels aren't moving. the doctor does his signature rambling as he tries to figure out what happened, and then it dawns on him. he turns slowly, stares directly into the camera and says "oh. it's you. all of you. you're why they can't move." the doctor starts jumping around, shakes ruby for a bit (and ruby's just like wut the hell is going on), does a thing with the sonic screwdriver before starting to run when he suddenly stops and turns back. looking directly into the camera, he says "don't blink." and then he runs off to save the day.

couple minutes later, he tells ruby to stare at some angels that were out of frame by saying "babes, the camera angle's changed."

there are 2 versions of any dr who season at the time it comes out:

1) the actual dr who season

2) the much cooler version of the same season created, goncharov-like, by fans theorizing about what everything could mean, which will slowly dissipate like sand running thru an hourglass as more and more episodes come out
