dancing with the devil - alexia putellas x reader
Tumblr media
pairing: alexia x singer!reader
warnings: mentions of drugs and alcohol
Meeting Alexia hadn't been an accident. If anything, meeting anyone, for you, was an accident, because more often than not, people were screaming into your face, demanding pictures and autographs and spinning theories about your private life that you were pretty sure could be considered conspiracies.
You hadn't intended, however, to meet Alexia. And she hadn't intended to meet you. The first time you'd seen the Catalonian woman had been on Keira's instagram. Your lifelong best friend and childhood neighbor was the only reason you were interested in women's football - or sports in general. You'd never shared your father's passion, or joined the local team like your brother had. If it wasn't for Keira, you would have no ties to the sport whatsoever, and even this way, you grew annoyed every time the strawberry blonde and her insufferably confident girlfriend tried to explain the offside rules to you.
Still, you followed Keira's life everywhere she went, and although you hadn't been happy with her move to Barcelona, you had forgiven her the minute you'd spotted the Catalonian woman on the sidelines.
Keira had warned you, but really, she should've warned Alexia. You enjoyed the lifestyle that came with being a singer, relished in parties and one-night-stands and rebounds that Keira doomed forbidden. More often than not, she'd threatened to hang up on your FaceTime call when you'd phoned her from London to tell her about your latest hookup. But Keira, as different as the two of you were, was still your best friend, and so she listened to every word you said, or sung, and was your number one supporter. This wasn't missed by her new teammates, who started following your socials the second Keira had first shared the promo picture of your new album. That's when Alexia had followed you. Keira should've warned her then, but a few years down the line, you were glad she hadn't. Because what was supposed to be a bed for you to spend a night in when you next visited Keira and Lucy in Barcelona blossomed into your second home, and the woman who was supposed to be yet another hookup blossomed into your girlfriend.
You had spent the past year somewhere between London, New York and Barcelona, desperate to spend time with Alexia, Leah and your producers all at the same time. The fans had quickly taken notice of your and Alexia's relationship, although, to be honest, not one of you had tried to hide anything. Alexia was easy, Alexia was simple, and most importantly, Alexia was safe. She was the one to ground you whenever you struggled with your mental health, whenever you were overwhelmed with pressure, anxiety, or any emotion alike.
But a few months ago, with Alexia's return to the pitch, the World Cup and the crippling pressure to perform, at all time, that grasped your every cell, things had taken a turn for the worst.
You were on tour, and had witnessed the public abuse of Alexia and her teammates via FaceTime and instagram, trying your hardest to console the captain as best as you could from so many miles away. It hadn't been an easy task, and with the everlasting rehearsals, concerts and afterparties, you had neglected to take care of yourself.
Drinking was easy when you had the excuse of missing your girlfriend. Using was easy when you had the excuse of just living a little.
Nothing was easy now, as you stood in your girlfriend's flat in Barcelona, the woman halting across from you.
"I'm... home", she breathed, taking in her surroundings. There was no way to hide the bags packed behind you, the way you were still wearing your shoes despite the fact that Alexia had taken so much time to drill the habit of taking them off at the doorstep, the way you seemed to be ready to leave when you had just come home.
"What is going on?", she asked, dropping her bag with a soft thud. Alexia had expected you on the couch, with a mug of tea in your hands, in her sweatpants and fluffy socks, just the way you liked during the colder months. She had expected you to be nuzzled under a blanket, perhaps napping as she knew the jet lag robbed you of energy whenever you took the plane from the States to Spain.
"I'm leaving", you breathed, staring into her face blankly. You tried to remember. Tried to take in every dimple, every freckle, the color of her eyes and the baby hairs that were flying off her hairline. If you could have, you would have taken a picture. You had so many pictures of Alexia in your phone, ranging from ones to her sleeping, from her at training, from her during matches, from her at dates you took her on or standing in the crowd of your concerts. They were never going to be enough - realistically, you knew that. But, realistically, you could never forget Alexia either, no matter how much time you would spend away from her.
Alexia looked confused. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly as she opened her mouth and closed it again. Her lips looked like she had been picking them, the way she always did when she was stressed, but you wanted to kiss them anyways.
Her feet guided her into the kitchen, walking straight past you as she inspected the apartment. She noticed your favorite mug - one that she had given you for Christmas last year - wasn't where it usually stood next to her favorite mug. Why would you take your mug? You never took your mug when you went away from her, to concerts or recording sessions or award galas.
If she looked any closer, she might've noticed the broken handle of it laying next to the trash can. The dish had been sent to the floor when you had frantically grabbed at it, desperate to leave the flat before your girlfriend came home, and shattered into a million peace. Each one of it was tucked in a plastic bag in your suitcase, but you had forgotten the handle. Alexia didn't notice. Her eyes were back on you.
"What are you talking about?", she asked. In that moment, you were grateful more than ever that Alexia had taken the longer route to grab your favorite sushi from the one restaurant on the other side of the town, the only one you liked, because it had given you enough time to pack everything before she came home. You had almost been out the door - you had put your shoes and coat on already, leaving your favorite scarf, the pink one that she liked to wear, in the hallway.
"I'm so sorry." Your voice was barely above a whisper, and you had to tear your eyes away from her, down to your dirty sneakers, when you felt your lips wobble. If you took another glance at Alexia, you would cry.
The handle of your suitcase was cold as you gripped it tightly, bending down to pick up the bag still on the ground.
"I'm so sorry, Alexia."
It wasn't just another statement one said during a breakup without any meaning. You truly meant it. You truly were sorry. In the past months, both yours and Alexia's life had spiraled completely, and although you had been there for her as best as you could have, and lost yourself in the process. The shell of a person that was left of you was nowhere close to what Alexia deserved. You weren't sorry for leaving her, you were sorry for the person you had become, and you were sorry you couldn't be the person for Alexia anymore. You couldn't be her loving girlfriend anymore, the one that loved her endlessly, that made her laugh, that took her worries away with soft kisses and whispered nothings. You couldn't be the person to make her happy anymore. If Alexia took a closer look at you, maybe she would notice your blown pupils, the redrimmed eyes of yours, the bags beneath them. Maybe she would notice the amount of weight you lost, the leftovers of white powder beneath your nose, maybe she would've noticed how broken you were.
You didn't give her the chance, instead tearing your gaze away from her and shuffling towards the door with soft steps, desperate not to ruin her hardwood floor with the crunch of broken glass and splashes of alcohol on your dirty shoes.
You heard Alexia cry behind you, heard her pleas for you to stay, heard her questions, her yells, but you were out of the flat quicker than she could've pulled you back. The air of Barcelona hit you colder than it had before, and a part of you wished you would've worn the pink scarf, knowing it would've kept you warm and smelled of Alexia's perfume.
The black SUV was still parked right next to her driveway the way you had instructed Lois, your driver, to wait. He didn't ask a single question as you slammed the bags into the backseat, following in shortly after, tears streaming down your face. You needed to leave. You were doing the right thing. Alexia would realize it, at one point.

⚡️ ROCK N'ROLL HALL OF FAME 2024
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
➖ The performance of Dua Lipa and Cher and her introduction
Dua Lipa performed a song in honor of Cher, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony
At the beginning of the evening, the pop star performed part of the 1988 hit "Believe", and then Cher herself joined her to sing the rest of the song
➖ Induction into the Foreigner Hall of Fame and their performance
Foreigner were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night. The award ceremony was attended by original vocalist Lou Graham, keyboardist Al Greenwood and bassist Rick Wills.
Mick Jones and Dennis Elliott did not attend the ceremony, and Ian McDonald and Ed Gagliardi died in 2022 and 2014, respectively. Sammy Hagar, who hosted the band, said:
I'm really sorry Jones isn't here today. Mick, we love you, miss you and congratulations
Hagar also talked about his experience listening to Foreigner music, especially songs like "Jukebox Hero" when he started out as a rock singer himself.:
When you first heard this song, you realized that you were jealous. In my opinion, this is one of the greatest rock vocal performances in history.
After Hagar's performance, a joint performance of their songs took place with the participation of Hagar, Slash, Chad Smith, Demi Lovato and Kelly Clarkson
➖Peter Frampton 's speech and his introduction
Peter Frampton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and several music industry stars came to the event on this occasion
Roger Daltrey of The Who was tasked with officially inducting Frampton into the Hall of Fame. He began his opening speech with what many in the audience were thinking:
I was surprised that this guy wasn't inducted into the Hall of Fame 35 years ago. All I can say is it's about time.
The posthumous introduction of Jimmy Buffett
Jimmy Buffett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024 as a recipient of the Outstanding Musical Achievement Award. Despite being nominated since 1998, Buffett was never inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The singer-songwriter received the award posthumously on Saturday night during the opening performance of Dave Matthews, who became one of the winners in 2024. Matthews performed a solo acoustic version of Buffett's 1974 song "A Pirate Looks at Forty".
James Taylor inducted Buffett into the Hall of Fame, noting:
For many of us, Jimmy was like a hero from a Greek myth. His adventures were our adventures. We shared his great love of life. He loved being Jimmy Buffett.
He was out of this world, but at the same time he was always sane and always himself. Jimmy was a man who achieved everything on his own, and there will be no other like it.
Ozzy Osbourne 's performance and introduction
Ozzy Osbourne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, becoming the 27th artist to be inducted more than once, and joining celebrities such as John Lennon, Stevie Nicks and Neil Young.
Osbourne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by actor and Tenacious D frontman Jack Black:
The greatest frontman in the history of rock and roll is Ozzy Osbourne. Blizzard of Ozz cover "was the most metal thing I've ever seen, and I didn't even know what metal was" Then I went back to Ozzy's early albums, to Black Sabbath. And I thought, "Damn it, that bastard invented heavy metal... the darkest, heaviest shit the world has ever heard."
➖Completion of the ceremony
The ceremony of induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024 ended on Saturday evening with a performance by Talking Heads with the song "Burning Down the House"
On Friday, it was 40 years since the release of Stop Making Sense, a concert film by Talking Heads, which included the song "Burning Down the House", as well as accompanying live album

"Being Better: The Story of Robbie Williams"
youtube
A teaser trailer for the movie "Being Better: The Story of Robbie Williams", a biopic of Robbie Williams, has appeared. Unlike most films about musicians, here the main character is played not by an actor, but by a computer monkey, which was voiced by the singer himself.
At the beginning of the trailer, Robbie Williams admits that he has always felt somewhat wild – which is probably why he appeared in the image of a monkey. The video features one of the main characters of the music, "Let Me Entertain You" and the album "Life through a Prism" (1997). The original title of "Better Man" is the song "Sing When You Win" (2000), which is part of the Robert Williams song of the same name.

ERA NOTES
Andrew’s Sweetune era. Maybe he’ll be in Monotree in five years. You never know.
Also their singers who sing era. They were extremely serious about it. Andrew made an appearance on Lee Mujin Service, where he covered Bibi’s “Bam Yang Gang,” Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves,” and Song So Hee’s “Moon Halo.” They also parodied Dingo's Killing Voice, performing the closest songs they have to hits and a few popular b-sides.
Both of their encore stages were part switches. The first one was fan-voted through Twitter polls. Intak asked fans three times on Weverse to please not make him sing Haksu's part. Fans obliged and gave him Andrew's part instead.
The second encore stage went viral after they randomly pulled names while Andrew was still finishing up his acceptance speech. Haksu did mangle Intak’s part while Intak looked like he wanted to die and Byeonghwi forgot Andrew’s lines twice but it was more endearing than anything.
Despite the album’s commercial success, they continued to face criticism from netizens and self-proclaimed former fans upset about their concept switch-up. The video essay “the problem with fable” saw its second moment in the sun. There were no responses from Fable this time around.
Their fandom is slowly beginning to fracture into OT7/8 fans and OT5/6 fans, the latter of whom would rather not have Mingeun (known liar) and Andrew (ruining the sanctity of the k in kpop) in the group. At the end of the day, they’re all buying albums and streaming songs and attending concerts. For the most part, the group is fine with pretending this isn’t happening.
As per usual with any negative attention, Mingeun's scandal was dragged up for the nth time. OT7/8 fans came to his defense with Demi Lovato Instagram-style Tweets.

NCT AG Fun Facts
Here's some facts of Kun and Moxy's relationship! Enjoy ~ Author Izzy
Tumblr media
Moxy joined SM a month before Kun and Renjun. A lot of fans don’t know how close Kun is with Moxy and her family.
One night Moxy stayed too late rehearsing her song for monthly evals. It was way past midnight and her grandmother would kill her if she went home by herself at this time of night. Just as she was walking back in to see if anyone stayed late someone said, “Do you need someone to walk you home?”
On their way to her house, The boy introduced himself as Kun and they both got to talking about their performances for the evaluations. Streets and quiet homes passed by them and before she knew it, Moxy was home.
Weeks after it became routine. Whenever Kun and Moxy stayed late, Kun would walk Moxy home then head back to the dorms. One night, Moxy’s grandma got curious about the young man who brings her granddaughter home safely every so often.
As the two approached her house, they didn’t notice anyone until a elderly voice said “So you’re the young man escorting my granddaughter home.” Kun, respectfully, introduced himself. He was in the clear when Mrs.Jin invited him inside.
Like any grandma, she stuffed him with food. Every time Kun arrived, there were boxes of food to take back to the dorms courtesy of Mrs. Jin. The boys at the dorms always devour whatever he brought home wondering where he got this food from
Mrs.Jin loves Kun. She treats him as if he were her own grandson. Mrs.Jin got in contact with Kun’s mom and the two regularly call back and forth. Mrs.Jin will let her know how Kun’s doing
Kun and Moxy have recorded some songs together. One of the best ones is No Promises By Demi Lovato. Mrs.Jin loves how Kun and Moxy’s voice sound together
Moxy’s little cousin likes Kpop and WayV is her ult group. She surprised Mrs.Jin with tickets to WayV’s fanmeeting in Korea. The staff noticed Mrs.Jin and got them both backstage after the concert. Kun sent pictures to Moxy afterward. She didn’t even know her grandma and cousin were going

↳ Teen Titan: I low-key hate Scooter Braun.
Even though I grew up as a die-hard Believer and probably had around thirty posters on my bedroom walls, I never knew much about Scooter. I LOVED Justin Bieber until I attended his first concert in Chilean territories in 2011, and the moment he started singing, I flashed a skeptical yet comical look at my parents and expressed, "This is not how he sounds in his songs" —anyways, what will you say to a seven-year-old regarding playback. Years passed, my taste changed utterly, and my vague knowledge of Scooter Braun became non-existent. I heard some things here and there, and to be fair, before I read Teen Titan, my emotions toward his image were primarily negative.
But now, I am a 20-year-old who is pursuing a major in Film and frequently wonders if she will end up living comfortably in Beverly Hills with a pair of expensive Pomeranians, walk-in closets or will be returning to her third-world country to be miserable and live off jobs that are not related to the audiovisual field.
Scooter Braun is a genius, and that's what I was trying to get to. The truth is that profiting off art and entertainment is horrible yet brilliant. But I also firmly believe Braun's luck was present because taking as a reference the business model of Basketball is risky, merely because sports and arts are different and attract publics that really differ from each other. I mean, yeah, we do have the SuperBowl and the FIFA WorldCup, but how often do we see sports fanatics acting like a 2012 Justin Bieber, 2013 One Direction, or 2014 5 Seconds of Summer fangirl trying to get noticed by their faves? That's what I thought.
What stood out for me the most was Braun's shark mentality. He didn't want to be perceived as a one-hit wonder, and that's fine; I doubt anyone would. But he worked towards it. Hard. He got The Wanted, Rae Jepsen, who might be nearly irrelevant nowadays, but Jesus, they did their thing for a good couple of years. And I know Scooter Braun also worked with stars like Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato, so that wasn't the end for him. The hitmaker mentality worked amazingly for him, and I acknowledge he is —besides maybe a little lucky— an intelligent man who didn't get twisted between loving art and making people love art.
On the other hand, it is interesting to read an article from 2012, considering that, as of 2024, Braun has retired, and people like Justin Bieber are no longer in his life —sad, to be honest. And as a conspiracy theory, I think retiring and working with HYBE shouldn't have meant drifting away from people I assume held emotionally substantial ties with him. One explanation is money. It is public knowledge that Bieber is one of these artists who have had enough multiple times, presumably from becoming too famous at a young age. Maybe, just maybe, some mixed feelings related to occasional borderline exploitation from Braun pushed Bieber to not remain friends with Braun. I guess we will never know.

Francois Klark "Beautiful Universe"
Tumblr media
QUOTE: “Over the distant hills and sun-drenched roads of Guatemala, Juno-nominated artist Francois Klark beckons with mesmerizing vocals, warm acoustic guitar, lush orchestral strings, and vivid storytelling lyrics. ‘Beautiful Universe’ reflects on how we are made from the same dust, living on a mere dot of light in the great and beautiful universe.” ABOUT THE SONG: The idea for ‘Beautiful Universe’ came while I was backpacking through Guatemala. One day, I took a minibus from Rio Dulce to Tikal. During this ride, I realized how despite our cultural differences and backgrounds, our human experiences are remarkably similar. Across from me sat a young mother with her two children, next to them was an elderly lady coming back from the market, and behind me, a middle-aged man heading home from work. Each person on that bus reminded me of someone from my own family. What struck me the most was the kindness of everyone. I was a foreigner and clearly out of place, yet, despite the language barrier, the young mother and elderly lady kept offering me their snacks and wanted to ensure I knew how to get where I was going. This experience stuck with me long after I returned from my trip and eventually inspired the lyrics: ‘We are from the same dust. We are all we’ve got. Just a drop of light in the ocean of our vast and beautiful universe.’ ABOUT THE ARTIST: South African-born, Canadian singer-songwriter & producer, Francois Klark (Francois Clark Mulder), is a JUNO-nominated Universal Music Award winner who has opened for such acts as Grammy winner Jon Bellion (Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Eminem). He has shared stages with top Canadian and international artists including Shawn Desman, Karl Wolf, and Ginuwine. Klark has worked on projects with UMG/Decca Records UK and signed a licensing agreement with Universal Music Group/U-NXT. Francois wrote and performed the lead single in the award-winning Netflix film “Feel The Beat” featured alongside artists including Demi Lovato and Alessia Cara. His songs have been recorded by Hollywood Records artist Sofia Carson and choreographed by Mia Michaels (So You Think You Can Dance). Klark’s exceptional independently released 2022 sophomore album, “Adventure Book” landed him a coveted JUNO nomination in the 2023 Adult Contemporary Album of the Year category alongside decorated artists including Michael Bubl and Jann Arden. He garnered over 20,000,000 streams, 460K Shazams, earned a coveted feature on NPR’s Live Sessions, and his songs appeared on several Spotify editorial playlists, the Viral 50 Singapore and Norway, the American Top 40, and US Top 100 Charts. From pop anthems doused with provocative hooks, flickering synths, and cinematic soundscapes, to delicate singer-songwriter piano ballads – Klark’s music contains a world of songs with a colossal amount of slickly addictive polish and an undeniable vocal, sharply dressed onto storytelling lyrics. His most recent album ‘Adventure Book’ is a wanderlust memoir journeying through a world of wondrous pop production that dauntlessly ventures into awe-inspiring symphonic concert halls and small villages. i’m not coming for you but how do you know taylor “did nothing for the family” she is usually very quiet about what she does donation-wise. she’s been donating to local food banks on every eras tour stop and we only know bc the food banks post about it. she donated to kesha’s legal fight against her abuser dr luke (we only know this bc when demi lovato called her out for not posting about kesha’s legal issues kesha’s mom said like “taylor actually donated 250k to her legal fees” and demi was basically like “well. posting about it on twitter is actually more important than money” it was so messy lol)
Ana Benevides's family confirmed that Taylor did not reach out. Here is a source in English, but I have TONS of it in Portuguese.
She did not comment on it. Not even on her shitty letter she mentioned Ana's name.
Little Miss Jet Fuel, on the following day, refused to show up (which she is well within her rights, I'll give her that) for another show. She didn't warn the organization behind her show or even her fans before they were already inside the stadium FOR HOURS. Mind you Brazil is going through a severe heat wave. On the day that Ana died, the thermal sensation was 60°C. There were people who got 2nd degree burns just by touching some metallic structures of the stadium. The source I found is in Portuguese.
Another fan had a sudden death and was found unconscious just outside the stadium. The source that I'm linking calls him the third Taylor Swift fan to die because another one was stabbed and died, but this has nothing to do with Taylor.
After all is said and done, is Taylor Swift guilty of anything I have exposed here (besides the CO2 emissions that aggravate the climate cataclysm)? No. This is beyond her, the organizers were greedy by putting soundproofing material just so nobody would hear it from the outside, which worsened the heat inside those walls. The organizers also prohibited concert goers to bring water so they would buy overpriced 200 ml cups. This is not on her hands.
But, I think it's VERY insensitive to not mention her name, Ana Clara Benevides, even once. To not offer comfort for her family. To not even pay for the transportation of her body back to her home state. Swifties did this, raised a lot of money just so she could be decently buried, not the billionaire singer. Some commentators said that Taylor's apathy towards Ana would never occur to fans from the USA or France or the UK, seeing as us from the "third world" are guilty of having lives of lesser value by imperialistic standards. I don't disagree with 'em.
Either way, I hope this desgraçada doesn't come back.

Rising Above: Aruna's Journey to Creating Her Own World Welcome to our interview with Aruna, an up-and-coming artist whose latest single, "Real World," delves into the challenges of navigating authority figures and cynical voices. With a central theme of empowerment encapsulated in the lyric "we're gonna rise up and take our place," Aruna explores the concept of owning one's power to create a world that resonates with personal values and dreams. Aruna's journey in music began at a young age, drawing inspiration from her musical family. Her father and grandmother, both musicians, instilled in her a deep love for the art form. However, Aruna only started writing her own songs a few years ago, constantly evolving and experimenting with her music along the way. Her musical influences range from Taylor Swift's songwriting prowess to the vocal stylings of Tori Kelly and Ariana Grande. Aruna's creative process is deeply personal, drawing from her own experiences and emotions. She sees songwriting as a way to express herself authentically, using her music as a journal to convey her thoughts and feelings. Reflecting on her journey in the music industry, Aruna highlights the challenges faced by emerging artists due to limited resources. She stresses the importance of support and representation, particularly as an Indian woman in the pop music industry. Aruna aspires to bring positive change and greater diversity to the music industry, aiming to be a role model for others. Stay tuned for Aruna's captivating music and be inspired to rise up and take your place in the world you create. Listen to Real World below   Follow Aruna below Spotify Soundcloud Bandcamp Youtube Instagram What is your stage name? Aruna What was the role of music in the early years of your life? I’ve always had a passion for music and have been singing and performing for as long as I can remember, but I only started writing my own songs about 3 or 4 years ago. I’m constantly discovering new things about music and learning and growing as I go. This song, for instance, has taken a very new direction sonically to my previous releases and that’s what I love about it! Are you from a musical or artistic family? I am! Both my father and my grandmother were musicians so it’s definitely in my blood and something that I grew up immersed in. My grandmother is the first person I ever performed with when I was 6 or 7, and she taught me a lot about music when I was growing up. Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry? I’ve always wanted to be a part of the music industry especially because I saw my father and grandmother doing it too, and I’m really grateful for that. If we’re talking about my early inspirations in music, they included artists like Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, Demi Lovato, etc. They were the reason I became interested in pop music, and I’ve always wanted to follow in their footsteps. What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform? Interesting question! Growing up in India, not a lot of bands and artists would tour in my area so I actually didn’t experience my first concert till very recently. I remember there was this German band called ‘Fotos’ that performed at our school once if you can count that- but my first real concert was only in 2021 when I went to see Arlo Parks at Chalk in Brighton and she was truly amazing! How could you describe your music? I have a really wide range of influences for my music- I’d say a really big one is Taylor Swift when it comes to songwriting, and then vocally artists like Tori Kelly and Ariana Grande have always inspired me. Lyrics and vocals have always been super important to me so I try to reflect that in the songs I release- but sonically my music has gone from being acoustic to more commercially pop, and now we’re doing pop punk so I’d like to say there’s a lot of range in there! Describe your creative process. Writing songs to me is almost like writing a jou
rnal. It’s been a very healthy way to express my emotions and personally I find it hard to write about things I haven’t experienced firsthand. So my songs are always very personal to me. For instance, the song I just released -Real World- came from a moment of anger after my ex boss made a sarcastic comment that I would never make it in the “real world”. I put the lyrics and melody down and then my partner Kamran Ramsden put it to guitar chords and arranged and produced the music. What musician do you admire most and why? The musician I admire the most currently is definitely Olivia Rodrigo. I think she’s able to bring together both beautiful lyrics and impressive vocals in her songs, and that’s the ultimate goal with my music so I’m definitely taking notes from her for all my future releases! Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career? Oh yeah definitely. I started off by top lining on electronically produced tracks that were never fully mine, and now I’m finally writing and releasing music true to my feelings and I’m achieving the sound I want. I’m so glad I have the resources now to write the kind of music that I myself love listening to. What are your interests outside of music? Music is my biggest interest, but outside of that I love reading, spending quality time with my friends and family, going to concerts, etc. My biggest interest outside of music, though, would probably be reading. If it wasn't a music career, what would you be doing? Well, I am currently working full time in PR! As growing artists we’re constantly hustling to move ourselves forward, so I’ve got a really busy schedule- as I know a lot of my friends in the music industry do as well. A lot of us are working other jobs and pursuing music in our down time- that’s why it’s so important to support small artists, we work really hard! What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music? I think one of biggest challenges I’ve faced in the music industry is that there are not enough resources for budding artists and it’s really difficult when you’re starting your journey to know where to begin. Thankfully, I had some support with that as I was able to network and surround myself with other musicians who were doing the same thing as me. If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be? The one thing I’d change about the music industry is definitely the lack of diversity. As an Indian woman in the pop music industry, there are not a lot of people like me and I didn’t have a lot of representation growing up. I’m really passionate about this issue and really want to bring more positive representation into the industry. https://open.spotify.com/artist/6daCidClR9EFJorFuwv60l?si=Gb1qMkr7RCCeO6r3XzwB9g Why did you choose this as the title of this project? I’ve often heard people use the term ‘real world’ in a negative way. People have preconceived ideas of what the ‘real world’ is, and it got me thinking about why I would want to live in a world where my dreams are not achievable, or where there’s only one accepted path, or where I’m constantly trying to fit in to someone else’s standards. The song is supposed to send an empowering message that no matter what anyone else says, we make our own paths in life, we set our standards, and we make our own world- that’s where the lyric “I don’t wanna live in your real world, I like the space that I create” comes from. What are your plans for the coming months? I have more releases coming! Not just that, I’m also playing a gig at Fiddlers Elbow in Camden on the 28th of July. If you’re around, you should come- it’s a great venue, it’s always so much fun, and it’s gonna be a great night! What message would you like to give to your fans? Take your time to figure out what makes you happy and what you’re passionate about, and then do more of that. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise, because at the end of the day you’re the one who’s going to be living this life- not
them. Create your own space and rise up and take your place.

Weekly BillCharts Top 50 - 2023 Week 15
This season has been unreasonably good to Ethel Cain, who now boasts an impressive 5 songs in the top 10. This comes only weeks after she locked down the Top 3, and after spending a total of 10 weeks at #1 since last October. Plus, Lanterns on the Lake break through with a #1 smash, and Tim Janis hits his highest peak on the charts since 2020.
More info after the break.
Lanterns on the Lake hits #1 with their newest single, "String Theory". The group first made their appearance on the charts late last year with "Through The Cellar Door", whose run was fueled by its appearance in Life is Strange: Before The Storm. The song charted for 7 weeks, but wasn't able to peak higher than #23 in that whole time. Interestingly, the song itself uses the topic of alternate universes as a way to comfort oneself over a failing relationship, which could be seen as a Life is Strange-adjacent topic.
Ethel Cain and Wicca Phase Springs Eternal hold the #2 spot for a 2nd week with god's country (demo). Despite failing once more to get the #1 with this newest hit, Ethel Cain herself is doing very well for herself, as she has locked down half of the top 10's positions:
2. god's country (demo) 6. American Teenager 7. Sun Bleached Flies 8. Thoroughfare 9. Crush
This is a very notable achievement, as Ethel Cain is the first artist to lock up half of the top 10 without an explicit album bomb of sorts.
Tumblr media
Only Lena Raine's 2 bouts in late 2018 were not explicitly fueled by an album or concert bomb, though all 5 of her songs did come from the Celeste soundtrack. Ethel's songs, meanwhile, are split across 2 projects and an unreleased demo. Here's a quick rundown of how each other artist has landed this record:
Harry Mack: Slime Rancher 1 OST (5 songs, 2019); Slime Rancher 2 OST (10 songs, 2022)
Christine and the Queens: Chris era concert bomb (8 songs, 2018); Redcar les adorables étoiles album bomb (6 songs, 2022)
Serena Ryder: Christmas Kisses concert bomb (7 songs, 2018)
Penny Parker: DeReconstruct EP bomb + another song (5+1 songs, 2021)
Barrett Wilbert Weed: Heathers soundtrack bomb* (5 songs, 2021)
*Heathers' soundtrack was able to lock down 9 of 10 songs in the Top 10 that week; Barrett Wilbert Weed simply appeared as an artist on 5 of those.
"Joys of Spring" from Pom Poko's soundtrack holds steadfast at #3, holding the highest peak for any Ghibli soundtrack song thus far. Tim Janis' Amazing Grace cover from his newest album, Songs of Spring (interesting theme running through these songs!) debuts at #4. This is Tim Janis' highest peak since 2020, when Ever I Love You landed at #1. Rounding out the Top 5 is last week's #1, Margaret by Lana Del Rey featuring Bleachers, falling 1-5.
Rapid fire through Ethel Cain's songs: American Teenager returns at #6 after nearly a year since its original run, Sun Bleached Flies dips 5-7 in its record breaking 25th week in the Top 10 in a row; Thoroughfare moves up 9-8, and Crush makes a big leap 42-9, after the song had all but been written off as a flop.
And finally, rounding out the Top 10 is Niontay and MIKE's "WHEREDEYAT???", holding the top 10 for a second week as it falls 4-10.
Outside the Top 10, Linkin Park's Fighting Myself hits a new peak as it rises 36-15, as does Demi Lovato's Heart Attack (Rock Version) which moves 18-16. The Lumineers' Stubborn Love debuts #21, continuing the push to chart faves from 10 years ago as part of the upcoming 10-Year Anniversary of the BillCharts.

We can see big young artist making covers of greats song, camila, demi lovato, niall, jesse j, ariana, consolidated singers, but Lauren
No matter how much shows they do always creat a great show, but Lauren.
No matter how much we love her, if she wants to keep alive in the industry even as a indepent artits, she needs to improve her shows, add more songs even if they are no belong to her, I start to believe that she truly is a very proud women incapable to take advices, she needs to change, love her genuineness but baby is your public image.
She is so talent but she must accept supporting from other songwriter, accept the visión of other producer, take song from anothers songwriters, she can create deep meaning song with comercial rhythm, her ex partner band Camila i a great example of that, great lyrics with comercial rhythm.
Love Lauren And a I bought ticket from prelude 2, i wont buy tickets again to listen the same short set list if she only try to improve I will, but as much as I love her, she will pass away in the industry is she doen not change the way to do the stuff.
Is imposible that she recives invitaciones to performer at festivales with a emo EP, and Im not saying she is bad, not at all, i just saying she can have both deep song great show and better rhythm.
God, I could totally agree with everything you say, anon. All. But there is a huge problem with your long comment, no. Not problem, but error. You have made the big mistake of putting the word commercial in all your speech.
It's a mistake because Lauren has said ad nauseam that she IS NOT A COMMERCIAL ARTIST. Therefore, she does not go along with the artists you have mentioned who are MAINSTREAM AND DEEPLY COMMERCIAL ARTISTS.
You have to learn to understand what it's like to be an independent artist, anon. You and all those who hope to see Lauren on big stages like Rock in Rio, for example
You have to look for what kind of concerts are the ones that have the most independent artists to know where to go to support her, because we want a lot for Lauren, but nobody ever wonders what Lauren wants for her career, for her music. What makes her feel most comfortable when she makes music and it's kind of sad to see. It's sad, because that means that you don't accept to see her as anything other than a commercial artist and she doesn't deserve it.
Personally, I did. I agree with everything that makes her happy and takes away the burden of having to be a commercial artist who fills the pockets of money for a group of bastards who only care about what they can get from an artist and stop beside the artist himself and the art that means making music without being trapped in a toxic and empty environment such as the industry
And with that said, I'll end with this story of Lauren on IG saying more than I can.
