Dear moominpappa French,

Thank you for the very friendly letter which was sent to Lasse and me from Benn's! I gave Daniel's strip cartoon to Lasse who very much appreciated to have a helper on the Equator. If one has been drawing strip cartoons for seven years or more there's an everlasting hunt for new ideas and sometimes one ends up in desperation.

We were very thrilled by the Moomin game - it looks good! And it's a real joy and a help in the job to know there's a whole family liking the stories so much that it has gone mooministic! I don't know if you have the very first strip cartoons? Say, m. on the Riviera, m. valley goes djungle, The lonely island, The dangerous winter (where Mymble falls in love with Mr. Brisk). Ten books with m. strip cartoons - three synopsies in each - have been published in Swedish by Gebers förlag, (Stockholm, bot 159) but maybe they're already in the tremendous collection of your son?

Here in Helsingfors the cold has ceased and Lasse and I are beginning to wait for spring. We have a small island each, the very last into the sea, in the Finnish gulf east from H:fors and go out there as soon as the ices break up. On my island there are no trees, only rock and wild flowers and in the middle a mysterious, rather deep lake.

You would have liked the Big Storm (biggest in 60 years) last summer - 11 beaufort! The cellar was full of seaweed and sand afterwards, the boats moored to the hut and breakers going over most of the island. My Moominmamma (aged 86) was enchanted. Afterwards, a helicopter landed on our islands counting the survivors. Lasse was inspired to a new synopsis. Don't you think the Associated Newspapers at Fleet Street should send him to Africa to get new ideas?

2. AOTY! I loved javelin, probably my favorite sufjan since age of adz. tied between that and influx by anna b savage. although again my real aoty was a brief history of amazing letdowns by lilys, my assigned random 90s album of 2023.

Best month for you this year? you know what I think my happiness was really evenly distributed this year. august was awesome because i saw a million friends but i also got covid so that loses some points. let's go with september a month that every single year makes me go my god i love september. went to boston and maine, saw some beloved friends, reconnected with some old friends in a really emotionally significant way, deepened some newer friendships, saw megan rapinoe's last uswnt game, had some top notch culinary experiences. and it looked like this:

19 What’re you excited about for next year? I am so stoked for next year and it's all somewhat filtered through the fact that i'll be turning 30. over the past few years I have worked very hard to put a few pieces of my life in place which is ofc an infinitely ongoing process but i am feeling very good about where i am and very optimistic about a new decade. knock on wood but based on how some things are going i think i will start a new job and that it will be great. two of my oldest friends are getting married and i'm really excited to sob through their weddings. i have been working a lot on figuring out my priorities and how to treat them like they are priorities and i just have this feeling like i am going to enter my 30s with friends i love and healthy creative habits and a pretty strong understanding of myself. and that it will be awesome.

El primer single de Lia Pamina, “How Come I”, del año 2014 y ya descatalogado, surgió a través de las redes como una colaboración imprevista con Roger Gunnarson, miembro de PUSHY PARENTS, aquel grupo que estaba pensado sólo como un proyecto de estudio y que estaba formado por él mismo, Amanda Aldervall y Daniel Jansson. Gunnarson ha recibido el reconocimiento de grupos como NIXON, FREE LOAN INVESTMENT, THE HAPPY BIRTHDAYS y THE GARLANDS, lo que le ha granjeado gran estatus en el mundo del indie-pop al igual que sus composiciones y producciones para Cloetta Paris y Sally Saphiro. Pero, de todas aquellas sesiones, hay una canción que se quedó sin publicar. Diez años después, este tema se ha recuperado y sale ahora en un single muy especial. La canción original, con su letra en inglés, viene acompañada de una nueva versión en español escrita por Lia Pamina. “Love Lies, Ya No Quiero Soñar” tiene una producción muy inteligente con Jonas Nordin a los mandos. Gunnarson comenzó a componerla como una canción de baile, pero al quitar todos esos detalles pensados para darle empuje, surgieron las melodías y la voz. Lia, Jonas y Roger se dieron cuenta de que así es como debía sonar, pues le da luz a la voz de Lia y su color vocal remite a Lynsey De Paul, Claudine Longet o a nuestra Jeanette. El productor Jonas Nordinnació en Estocolmo y lleva desde principios de los 80 componiendo, produciendo y creando música para artistas de todo el planeta. Lia graba y produce sus voces y, entre todos, han creado esta maravilla. Una canción intensa y preciosista que completa el rico y diverso repertorio de la cantante castellonense. Lia, admirada por medio mundo gracias a su voz y su talento interpretativo, compositivo y conceptual, es una de las cantantes más especiales del pop atemporal de nuestros días. Se inspiró en el cuadro "Ofelia, sentada junto al estanque", de John William Waterhouse, para la portada, que representa las falsas esperanzas que se desvanecen. Santi Díaz hizo la foto, Jon Alcaide la edición del color y el diseño final de la portada es, como siempre, de Luis Elefant.
