DNAngel keychains now in production!
I really love Towa and Argentine, but I’m afraid that they might not be popular enough for me to make keychains of them too
In the meantime I’m designing other DNAngel fan merch. As a longtime fan I’m soo happy to finally make my dreams come true

Daisuke, sweating: Riku, there’s something I need to ask you-
Riku: Finally! You’re proposing!
Daisuke: How’d you know?
Riku: Daisuke, you’ve dropped the ring five times during dinner.
Riku: I even picked it up once.

Shows up 5 minutes to midnight with one (1) Whumptober prompt
AI-less Whumptober 23: Fever - Daisuke & Satoshi
Daisuke had had the feeling before that he would inevitably break into Hiwatari's house one day. He had never quite imagined under what circumstances, though.
If Hiwatari was going to miss school, he always made sure to call ahead to inform the staff of his absence. Like in most aspects of his life, Satoshi Hiwatari was organised. Hence a wave of anxiety overcame Daisuke when their homeroom teacher asked if anybody knew anything about their classmate. Sure, he had been looking a bit worse for wear the past couple of days, but that itself wasn't unusual for him; the waning and waxing of his health was at this point well familiar to those who saw him regularly. Daisuke, too, knew. He usually didn't keep an eye out specifically, but there were times where he looked the other over thoroughly, just to catch a glimpse of anything unusual. Maybe injuries that didn't make sense with that last encounter with Dark, maybe signs of not having slept, concealed bandages under ironed clothes. They were both aware of it. As much as stealth was one of Daisuke's strengths, he was mostly oblivious to how much or little he emoted; with worry or concentration written straight across his face when he looked at his classmate for more than a second. The subtle changes in his body language and demeanour when he was falling ill were on Daisuke's mind, and he still thought about whether he had spotted them the days prior when he was walking towards Hiwatari's apartment after class. The spring semester had just started, and the chill of winter was still crisp in the air, only mellowed out by the newly bright yellow sunlight. His school blazer fit comfortably loose and was just warm enough for him to not need any other jacket, but even if he had felt cold, there was anxiety buzzing inside of him that ran him a little warmer regardless. When he walked past the balconies, he tried to get a glimpse inside from the streets, but there wasn't much to see from his position. Like he had done a few times before - with explicit permission usually - Daisuke let himself in via the passcoded keypad. Sprinting up the flight of stairs, he felt another shudder, and he jumped up the last three steps to ring the doorbell frantically. He had to push the new morbid thoughts away that were gathering in his head and threatening to spill all over his nice, rational ones.
'Calm down, Daisuke. Surely Krad hasn't killed him yet.'
"That's not funny, Dark."
He rang another five seconds and waited.
'Take a breath, Jesus, Daisuke. You're freaking out.'
"I know that!"
Nothing continued to happen; no noise from behind the door. Daisuke bit his tongue hard enough to make himself wince.
"I'm going to pick the lock."
'Do what you will. It's not like it could be a trap or anything...'
"Shut up.'
Daisuke sat back on his haunches, peering close at the keyhole and lock. He did usually carry around some lock picking supplies out of habit, along with a little sewing kit that his mother had taught him to use just as early in his youth. He didn't really use it much, preferring the old-fashioned way of entering places - being asked in - but in a case like this, he could not deny that this was convenient.
Click.
He was very relieved that the kid acting as police commissioner did not have a complicated security system on his door, as unwise as it probably was.
"I'm coming in!" Daisuke announced as he actually opened the door with baited breath and stepped inside. The apartment looked like the last time he had been there. No sign of a struggle or a move. As usual, it looked sterile and barely lived in. The collection of shoes and coats at the entrance were reassuring at least.
"Hiwatari?"
He closed the door quietly and stepped further inside. For a moment he considered running through the room in his shoes; if something was wrong, he maybe couldn't afford to lose any more time. He slipped them off anyway and crossed the living room on swift socked feet.
When he finally pushed open the bedroom door, he could breathe a sigh of relief: Hiwatari was in his bed, seemingly fast asleep under two large duvets.
"Hiwatari?"
Daisuke knelt by the bedside, and put a careful hand on his shoulder. From up close, he could see Hiwatari's face and feel the heat his body was radiating. A little sweat had pooled at the nape of his neck and left stains on his shirt. When he opened his eyes, they were glassy and red and his voice was scratchy and wobbly when he spoke.
"Niwa?"
"You didn't come to school."
Hiwatari stirred, slowly sitting up to lean against the headboard. He allowed Daisuke to steady him - not explicitly, but neither did he protest when he did.
"Ran a fever last night and couldn't sleep." He glared over at the nightstand where an empty glass and foil scraps probably meant that he had taken some medicine.
"Do you need water?" Daisuke didn't wait for an answer, sprinted out the room and returned a minute later with a fresh glass.
"You should really drink, here."
Hiwatari took the glass and took a large sip while Daisuke watched eagerly.
"I'm sorry for worrying you. It must be past noon."
"It's...it's fine. I'm sure the school will understand."
"Niwa, do I understand correctly that you broke into my apartment?"
Daisuke shuddered guiltily,
"Yes. I'm sorry, Hiwatari. I didn't break the lock so you should be good. But I'll pay for you to have it replaced if you want -"
"Stop talking so much," Hiwatari mumbled, "You're making my head hurt."
"I'm sorry!"
"Please. Stop being sorry." He sighed and pulled the blankets back over himself. He was shivering a little again, Daisuke noticed.
"Did you take your temperature? Should you go to the hospital? You look really unwell-"
"Niwa, please. I just need to sleep it off another day, I reckon. I appreciate that you are here, but I am not much of a host right now."
"I'll be here to take care of you."
"I'm not asking you to."
"You're my friend. I want to."
"You're too soft-hearted."
"I'm. I'm choosing to do this, Hiwatari. You can't imagine how much I was freaking out! I thought, I... maybe something happened and I am too late."
"Your empathy will forever be inconvenient for the both of us, Niwa."
With his eyes closed, Hiwatari looked more sickly again, curled up in bed.
"You're my friend," Daisuke repeated, "and I chose to be there for you."
"I suppose I couldn't destroy you in this state, even if I wanted."
If he tried to be funny, it didn't come out as such, at least not to Daisuke. It was the kind of thing Hiwatari said sometime, like he needed to remind the two of them that there was something predestined for them. Something that was going to come to an inevitable devastating end sooner or later. That they shouldn't keep hopes up.
But there were times when Daisuke made an effort to ignore that knowledge. Times like these where they depended on one another and for once, just sat in a room together as two 15 year olds with their complicated families and homework due. When Dark was graciously quiet in his mind as long as Krad was, too.
"I'm going to take care of you."
Daisuke walked back into the small bathroom and rummaged through cabinets, where he easily found an infra-red thermometer and the opened pack of the medicine Hiwatari had taken the night before.
"Stay still."
He settled down with the things in his lap on the edge of the mattress., "I'm taking your temperature, just to be sure. Don't panic."
Hiwatari glanced at him with half-opened tired eyes, "I am still awake, you know."
"I won't mind if you fall asleep again, though."
"Psh, hold that thing still."
Daisuke carefully moved some hair out of the way to touch the thermometer to Hiwatari's ear. His skin was still too warm to the touch.
"Since I'm quite lucid, I don't think it's too bad."
"Still."
Bleep.
"Still in the verge of "high", though. No wonder you've been so out of it."
"I haven't been. I just said I'm lucid enough."
"You didn't hear me ring for five minutes and didn't call the school. You have been out of it."
"You're a such a mother hen, Niwa. I don't know why this still surprises me," He said it with quiet amusement, avoiding Daisuke's gaze, "as uncomfortable as this is, I guess I need to say thank you after all."
"You really are graciously ignoring the whole breaking in thing now, huh?"
"I do not have the energy to be angry at you for this, Niwa. I appreciate your help."
"And I'll be there for you until you're better, okay?"
"I don't think it's such a good idea for you to stay."
"You said it yourself, you couldn't kill me in that state."
"I guess I did say that."
