The fact that Light was sadder about Rem's death then Misa was and only planned to kill her because it was necessary/she posed a threat, whereas Misa wanted her dead from the start drives me INSANE.

One thing I think is interesting is how much a parallel Will is to Nico. Not just cause "oh,dead siblings-" but how that whole situation pays out overall.

Both are raised by their mom for first decade of their life, why Nico grows up with a sibling, Will only has his mom to lean on, why not shown(praying so hard for a Naomi moment in tsats 2-) it's very clear he has a close bond with her why Nico hardly is able to remember his.

Both end up attack at young age with their moms. Nico losing his from Zeus, and Will being attacked why in the city with his mom. Something that sticks to him so much despite fighting in like 3 wars that he still is scared of those monster birds.

Nico and Bianca are taken to the Casino and years later camp, why Will it's taken straight to camp, and only then does he get siblings to lean on.

Nico loses the only stability(nonfataly at first) he's had his own life when she decides to join the hunters (which, as a younger sibling with similar age gap,definitely gives the feel of sibling struggling with being left behind as the older grows up but that's a different ramble-) Will like makes the decision to not be able to see his mom as much anymore for the safety of her and himself, becoming a year rounder, or having to do so after the war for sake of his siblings. Either way loosing that stability as well.

Of course Will loses a brother before Michael, not only that he looses almost all his siblings.

And this where most interesting comparing the two.

Nico has to stay in camp, he entrust Percy to look after her and when she dies in his young grieving mind he blames Percy. He was there when Nico couldn't be and didn't save her. Add on to the fact that Nico felt her die. He's left with his sister dieing why he was stuck and camp and couldn't be there with her.

Then for Will, he likely not only felt some of his siblings die(if why trying to heal them they died right there) but he saw them die. He was there and he couldn't do anything.

He sees not just Michael being knocked off the bridge, but some of his other siblings too a bit prior from Kronos. A year prior he likely also had to see many other die as well including his other brother.

I don't think most of his anger is in Percy, though I'm sure he has some mixed feelings about it at this point after botl Will is fully aware they're in the middle of war and what comes with that. They had to act fast in both breaking the bridge and getting to Annabeth. Michael wasn't the only sibling somewhere under that bridge, leaving his cabin to search and regroup why he went with Percy was the best option.

But,I think if he'd be upset at anyone, it be Clarisse and her cabin. Even if by a little bit.

A reverse of Nico's situation. Instead of "i couldn't be there, you were" its "I was there, you chose not to."

Not that they particularly could 100% saved Michael just be being their sooner or whatever, but if they were there would've been room for reinforcement. That maybe at least some of his other siblings could've survived.

They're then given something that just becomes a sour reminder of what they lost. Nico's given the figure Bianca got that led into her death by Percy.

Will's handed over the chariot, which was the reason Clarisse refused to assist in the fight why his siblings died, by Clarisse.

But, Nico left camp after. Having no ties to it and no responsibility other than taking care of himself. Only having to get back on contact with Percy after months without it. And why still going through a lot he's finally able to talk stuff over and start on a healing journey.

And honestly,I thinks why Nico and so much further in not just acknowledging his trauma and issues,but actually get moments to think it over and talk and connect to someone over it.

Think that's why I hate that idea that will just came in and "fixed Nico" or whatever. Because Nico was already on the way to healing by the end of the first series! Of course he still struggled,cause healing doesn't happen over night,but if wasn't just Will that helped him. Will was just the person to help him find his place in chb and settle in a stable place where he could finish his healing.

In contrast, Will had hardly any of that. As soon as Michael and his siblings died he was responsible for not only what little siblings he had left(Kayla and Austin were like 11 or so btw-) but a whole army of his peers and others.

He had to become a head counselor mid war, afterwards he had to burn bodies and empty shrouds of his siblings and peers why still having to take care of his living peers.

He couldn't risk the energy to argue or be mad fully at Clarisse. He just had to put on a steady face why she gives his cabin back the chariot like that would fix anything. Only for that to get broken but too long afterwards

It is non stop for over the next 1-2 years. To the point he centered his worth around helping others to an unhealthy degree that it even affects his relationship with Nico.

Which took up to tsats for Nico to really sit and talk to Will about it. Nico's aware of how hurt by his sibling's lost Will is, but i think up until tsats he hadn't fully processed the fact that Will never got the closure he did. Will never got to say goodbye nor had time to do his own thing. And I think tsats it as much of a start of Will's healing journey as it is Nico fully coming to terms with his. Obviously trauma like that doesn't go away, but Nico it's a lot further ahead than Will, and think just interesting how differently their life led them to that.

Will,despite having me stability with camp and his two siblings, he never really had anyone he felt he was allowed to lean on even a little bit. Even with how close he is to his mom, there's only so much he likely would tell her.

Idk. The parallels are so interesting to me.

Also, idea of Clarisse being to Will as Percy is to Nico and kinda fun to think about. I'm just a sucker for Clarisse being a big sister figure to Will hdgd

Also, not saying Nico is there to work Will through his issues either. I bet much rather him just be part of it in the way Will was with him. Nico had Jason and Reyna and Hazel as well. Let Will have that support system. Obviously I'm sucker for him and Jake having heart to heart. But also others.

Dr. Coomer is the EMBODIMENT of a old and broken AI. Silly man, just a very old guy who has a crisis over realizing that he's in a game because he went out of bounds. He runs into the same trap/enemy constantly because of one area at the beginning of the game, explodes anything with the word explosive on it, cannot stop greeting the player, recites the entirety of the 2012 Wikipedia article for chairs because was was sitting in one, and is basically a permanent tutorial npc. Someone fix this man's code please.

he's a broken tutorial npc who becomes aware that he's trapped in a game and repeatedly tries to escape. he wanted to be a boxer instead of a scientist. he wants to live in super punch out for the super nintendo entertainment system but instead he's stuck in half life. you wouldn't leave him in half life, gordon? fucking half life? let him ou-- HELLO, GORDON!

Ultraman X propaganda:

X canonically lost his physical form and lives in Daiichi's phone. His presence caused Daiichi's phone to turn gold, instead of the standard-issue silver the rest of XIO's employees have. It's possible for XIO's scientists to send powerups to X because he lives on Daiichi's phone. There's also a couple episodes where X gets trapped in cyberspace and Dr. Gourman and friends have to design something for Daiichi to help him escape. (Dr. Gourman is the first to notice Daiichi is secretly Ultraman X. Also in the crossover movie, Daiichi and X got separated and X couldn't live on Daiichi's phone so he jumped to the nearest computer (which belonged to Naomi from Ultraman Orb, air date 2016) and began pulling up photos of Daiichi in a "Have You Seen This Nerd?" sort of way. The enemy goons saw Naomi and her cryptid hunting gang putting up missing posters for Daiichi and tore them down bc they had him captured at their crystal witch's base, a creepy haunted house. Eventually when Daiichi and X reunited as man and lil alien on his phone, they were so happy they ignored everyone else in the room. They were grateful enough to fight alongside Naomi's sad space cowboy, Kurenai Gai, in battle.

He's used the phone's vibration function a few times to try and get people's attention, and he doesn't like being turned face-down because he can't see. In order to take on a physical form he has to essentially fuse with his human partner Daichi. (also they get a power up form after Daichi nearly Dies to save him and it's rainbow themed.) While X is very chatty and enjoys talking with his partner, he's often a formless voice while they're fused.The exception being one occasion where he looks like an entire network. tldr this alien is gay he is very polite and deserves your vote.

Book Thoughts 2024

Tagged by @docholligay, everything in italics one hundred percent stolen from her. Anyone else who sees this can do this if they're interested, but maybe @sinni-ok-sessi if you feel like it? (challenge mode: only one patrick o'brien, super challenge mode: only one with a nautical theme.)

Best three books i read this year, that are new to me. In no real order. In so far as I think they have craft, in addition to me enjoying them.

Rebecca, Daphne Du Maurier

Orlando, Virginia Woolf (don't look at me)

A State of Freedom, Neel Mukherjee / Forest Dark, Nicole Krauss, tying because I couldn't choose between them, and they occupy a very similar space in my reading. I would probably say the Mukherjee is better done from a craft sense, but I felt more of a connection and also a greater ratio of enjoyment to intense bleakness from the Krauss.

Book I expected to love and hated: Hyperion, Dan Simmons. I don't think it's a bad book, but I did not enjoy it at all.

Book I expected to hate and loved: The Diamond Age, Neal Stephenson, although "expected to hate" is a bit of an exaggeration - if I read something I usually expect to get something out of it. Expected to be far more annoyed by and less interested in than I was, maybe. And "loved" is also a bit of an exaggeration for 'had a pretty fun time, far more thought provoking than expected, still said "Neal what the fuck" intermittently.'

Three recommendations for when you're drinking on a plane:

Moonraker, Ian Fleming (surprisingly fun romp, brought the Tranby Croft affair to my notice where it now haunts every piece of britlit I read, probably improved because my expectations were very low after Live and Let Die)

Spectacles, Sue Perkins (just a fun time, and very touching in places)

1Q84, Haruki Murakami, because you can let the plot do what it does without caring how much sense it makes, and no-one will care if you sometimes have to close the book to stare into space and mutter under your breath such things as "what the fuck, dude, why" or "please stop" or "you've met women before, right? or like, people?" (I read this on an international train journey and I wasn't drinking but wish I had been. but I'll tell you what, I wasn't bored.)

Book I will absolutely reread: I did already reread both Gaudy Night and Busman's Honeymoon, but maybe The Hunter, Tana French.

Book I found overhyped: The Goblin Emperor, Katherine Addison - I didn't hate it, I thought it was ok. Everyone else seems to absolutely love it. Maybe because I saw it billed as court intrigue, for which I need a book to have much more court and much, MUCH more intrigue.

Author I read the most this year: Dorothy Sayers

Favorite author I discovered: If this is "favorite author whose work I hadn't read before", Dorothy Sayers and Virginia Woolf, but it feels a little weird to talk about "discovering" them. If we're meaning "favorite author I'd never heard of before", probably Nicole Krauss, though I've only read the one of hers so who knows.

Reread that was better than I remembered: I don't track rereads, and also don't think I did much rereading this year, aside from some Dorothy Sayers and a couple of poetry collections, and those not with enough of a gap to forget anything about them. So not sure of an answer for this. I'll come back to this if I remember something.

Book I would have bled for and died over if the cast had been all/mostly women: His Majesty's Dragon, Naomi Novik. Now, I enjoyed it reasonably well as is. But I think I could have gotten properly deranged about it if, as well as a universe where the Napoleonic wars are fought with dragons, we suspend our disbelief one step further and also have there be lesbians instead of institutional misogyny.

Favorite nonfiction: Portrait of a Marriage, Nigel Nicolson (don't look at me!!!!)

The worst three books I read this year, in that I think they utterly lacked craft, in addition to me not enjoying them:

Elephants Can Remember, Agatha Christie

On Basilisk Station, David Weber, which I'm being extra harsh on because I think I could have really enjoyed it in a trashy scifi way had it been maybe 20% better written.

Live and Let Die, Ian Fleming, although it did bring us the immortal line, "According to the CIA she's a corker."

Magnus Archives Relisten, MAG 13 Alone

If a ghost tells you to turn left in a forest, and no one's around to hear it, do you still get hit by a car? My apologies to Ms.Herne for the tasteless and offensive humor. MAG 13 analysis, spoilers ahead!

Facts: Statement of Naomi Herne regarding the funeral of her fiancé Evan Lukas. Statement given January 13, 2016.

Statement Notes: RIP Evan Lukas. RIP king. You would have loved Bo Burnham's Inside.

It's so exciting to have our first live statement. The beginning of the episode stands out because it establishes that the digital recorders not only fail frequently, but at specific times. It is likely that by this point Jon understands the tape recorders must be used for the "real" statements.

Naomi's behavior at the beginning of the episode is also a bit strange. For one, she states that a paranormal investigator laughed at her for suggesting the Magnus Institute. I've always found it odd that investigators like Melanie mock the institute or find it illegitimate because they are an academic institution. They do extensive research, have significant funding, and even though they don't actively interfere in paranormal occurrences, they appear to be conducting and publishing legitimate studies. Why are they disregarded so often?

Naomi also appears actively antagonistic towards Jon. She needs his help, yet still ices him out. This is exemplative of her unconcious commitment to remain alone. Even when she asks him to stay while she gives the statement, she doesn't form any connection with him.

The religious aspects of this episode are so profound. Herne had found solace in religion her whole life. The only person she aside from Lukas and her mother that she could form a connection with was her priest. Yet, in her moment of desperation and fear, when she seeks shelter in the church, the door is locked. Her priest had advised Naomi to bond with others, and while she does get close with Evan, she doesn't actually make more friends and instead depends on religion to give her a sense of connection. But religion alone couldn't help her when everything fell apart.

The idea of being locked out from your religion is also particularly powerful. Being metaphorically and literally locked out of her religion amplified Naomi's loneliness and drove her further into misery.

Lukas' death, while not necessarily supernatural, has this particularly stinging bit of symbolism. A man from a strongly connected yet chronically isolated dies of a genetic broken heart.

The "turn left" line is frightening because I can't pinpoint where it came from. There seems to be a few possibilities:

A) It actually was the dead Evan Lukas. His ghost was using the car crash to jar her out of the Lonely and save her. This insinuates that he wasn't killed by an illness, but by his family or at least some aspect of the Lonely which absorbed him.

B) Evan Lukas had been killed/absorbed by the Lonely, but he wasn't the one warning Naomi. The Lonely had taken and brainwashed him, compelling him to force Naomi towards the car in an attempt to kill her.

C) Evan Lukas' ghost was stuck in the Lonely, and in an uncontrolled spiritual state, thought killing Naomi could reunite them and free him from loneliness.

C) It wasn't Evan Lukas or his spirit, but a manipulation of his voice by the Lonely/the Lukas family to kill Naomi for invading their space and taking one of them away.

Entity Alignment: Pretty much in the title. Great introduction to the Lonely, really gets to both the heart of the fear and the methods it uses.

Some people have mentioned the elements of the Buried in this episode because of the open coffins, and while I do think it's present, these coffins are more so an extension of the Lonely. In the cemetery, Naomi is not afraid of being buried alive or of dying, but of dying alone. Hence the gravestone she carries out with her reading "Forgotten."

I also noticed Jon's Eye abilities beginning to develop in this episode. While he certainly isn't compelling Naomi to speak, he is certainly leading her. Naomi is mad at him, she doesn't want to speak, but his mention of the stone and attempt to diffuse the situation with a joke urge her to give the statement.

Character Notes: This introduction to the Lukases is very frightening. Very classic "isolated rich family" horror, but taken to another level because the isolation is the fear, not just a storytelling device.

hi guys earlier today while i was straightening my hair I was thinking abt how alot of ppl always say "oh I think naomi should've died instead" but that is absolutely wrong because seiko would've ended up dying aswell due to darkening related deaths,,,,,, like seiko couldn't have gone through heavenly host w/o naomi so she would've died from the darkening if naomi died instead

Ok what is your honest opinion on Neelix?

Okay I think Neelix gets a lot of shit, because he is so sweet and he just wants to help.

Now, I will say, that his relationship with Kes is prone to a lot of jealousy on his end, which is not healthy. However, people like to say he's dating a child, which Kes is not. Her species lives to be 9. At the oldest. She's the equivalent of young 20s, and I think Neelix is supposed to be like young 30s.

Everyone is always getting on him about his cooking, which I think is not as bad as we're told. After all, they are eating it. And he's doing his best with ingredients that this crew is not used to eating, and after they went farther than he'd ever been, he wasn't used to them either!

His role as morale officer is definitely a bit exaggerated, but it is good that they had someone on board who's goal was not "Get home as fast as possible" and instead was "Keep these people happy and sane."

And his relationships with Naomi and Samantha Wildman were so sweet. He came from a big family, he definitely expected to have kids and nieces and nephews and then he couldn't, because his family died, but then he joined Voyager and got a family again.

Oh wow this got long, but tl;dr, Neelix gets a lot more shit than he deserves and I love him.

Thoughts on Bleach Cour 3 Episode 1:

>Opening was ok. not my favorite (it certainly isn't the openings in soul society arc or after dark). but it's ok and does its job of explaining what will happen in the arc.

>Senjumaru's bankai was epic. I love the whole Kirby's epic yarn/arts and crafts vibes it has. Very creative bankai. also have to give her some credit where it's due. unlike most of squad zero, she actually accomplished more during the fight against Yhwach and his guards. Also gotta give props to her Japanese voice actress Rina Sato (aka Japanese VA of Naomi from Corpse Party, Velvet from Tales of Berseria, and Makoto from Persona 5), she did an amazing job as the character too. Squad Zero actually got to fight and we actually got to see Senjumaru's bankai unlike the manga, where the Sternritters just destroy them offscreen. Hell, the anime adaptation in general did a way better job with squad zero than the manga (also gotta give the anime some more credit for actually showing the entire scene of Aizen having a conversation with Yhwach in Muken instead of it all just happening off screen).

But how could she, when she had met the perfect person for her, her classmate Megumi. Warning, lots of slow-burn, like 3 years of slow-burn. Link

The Lucky One - Love Interest: Yuta Okkotsu. Kazumi Osada wasn't schizophrenic. She wasn't, she couldn't be. No matter what any medical professional said, she couldn't believe that. Then one day, someone visited her, someone who believed her instead of the doctors. Satoru Gojo, who had taken the girl under his wing, leaves her to deal with a cursed boy alone. She had to kill him if he couldn't get the curse under control. But this isn't the story of how Kazumi killed Yuta Okkotsu, this is how they fell in love. Link

Anti-Hero - Love Interest: Toji Fushiguro. Minori Fushiguro, nicknamed the devil by her former peers, was a very scary curse user. A First Grade who left after graduating from Jujutsu Tech with her husband Toji. A Mother of two children, one with the cursed technique of the Zenin and one without any cursed energy. The widow of the Sorcerer Killer. Her reentry into the school, unceremoniously forced into a deal by Satoru Gojo, was strange. How does a dangerous assassin become a mundane high school teacher? Holden was acting jittery. 

That wasn’t anything new. Hell, it was closer to his natural state than calm Holden was. But it also meant he probably wanted to say something and didn’t know how to say it, or found something new to stress about and was tearing himself up for it. Amos had no clue why he’d put himself through that. But then again, there were many things that others did and he didn’t understand.

“Just spit it out, Cap,” he said when he finally got enough of Holden pacing up and down the galley.

A part of him hoped that this whole thing didn’t involve him changing his mind about Clarissa. Hoped. Shit, that was new.

At least, that’d pulled him out of it. But he, still, wouldn't say what he was thinking. He was avoiding eye contact, which wasn't as usual with them, and it bothered Amos how he couldn’t tell if that was a good or bad thing.

When Holden, finally, did speak, his voice came out shaky. “When the rocks hit Earth, I knew logically if there was anyone that would survive it’d be you,” he exhaled sharply and only now, dared to look him in the eyes. “But every day that passed without contact, not knowing if you are dead or alive…”

Amos wasn't entirely sure why Holden was putting himself through this. Things had sucked, and being away from the crew had affected him more than he could have imagined but it was over. They were back. Most of them, anyway. There was no point in digging into those painful memories.

Although, he'd learned a while back that it was better to let Cap talk it out. It wouldn't be the first time he freaked out over Amos nearly dying. So, he listened. 

“I tried to push it aside because there were a million other things to worry about and I couldn't do anything about it. But seeing you again brought it all back and,” he cut himself off like it was hard to say. The look Holden gave him reminded him of Ilus. Desperate and pained and Amos wanted to wipe it off his face immediately.

“I don't know what I'd fucking do if I lost you.”

As soon as Holden said the words, he grimaced because he felt like an asshole. Alex's death felt like a cave inside him, but even the thought of losing Amos or Naomi made it near impossible to breathe. Losing them would be like losing parts of himself. And the guilt for even feeling that made the cave bigger. 

Now he didn't have the distraction of the protomolecule he was chasing all the time they were apart. And every feeling he'd tried, as much as he could, not to feel all this time apart, came rushing to him all at once.

It was overwhelming. 

The lump in his throat had returned and kept growing inside and he feared it'd slowly swallow him whole. 

The hand on his shoulder nearly startled him. He hadn't noticed when Amos had crossed the distance between. But the touch was enough to ground him some. 

“You won't lose me, Jim. 've told you before, I'm the last man standing." 

Jim. That only ever came up if either of them were about to die. Or if Amos wanted to please him. 

“You almost never call me that," Holden argued weakly, betting it was the latter and trying not to focus on everything he spilled out prior. 

He still felt his heart nearly beating out of his chest, but instead of the loss and helplessness, he tried focusing on Amos' steady presence. On the way his muscles flexed when he touched him, the short distance between their bodies, and his intense blue eyes that searched every inch of his face. 

The exact moment his gaze briefly lowered to his lips.

Suddenly, Holden leaped forward, crushing his lips against Amos in a desperate manner. He could've died. Amos could've died and Holden could've lost him.

The fragility of it all, always hit harder in the moments before. This was the first time he felt so frantic after.

Amos reciprocated, pulling him flush against him and kissing him with the same intensity. 

Moment by moment his anxiety faded with Amos's tight hold on him. The grip on his shirt and hip was nearly tight enough to hurt, his steady torso against Holden's, and the feeling of those soft lips he loved so much against his, grounded him like nothing else. 

Every time he felt like he was about to float away, Amos grounded him better than mag boots. He didn't know if it was the fact they were both from Earth that did it. It's not like they had similar life experiences anyway. So Holden was inclined to think it was just who the mechanic was.

His best friend, his rock, his… lover. 

Funny how he'd describe Naomi the same way. He needed all of them like he needed air. 

The part of his heart that belonged to Naomi had come back weeks ago. The other that Amos had, was just now returning after all that separation. Brought back by their closeness. 

His lips lingered, catching up on all the contact they'd been missing. It wasn't like their usual ones. Sure they'd kissed desperately and passionately before, but they'd been fast, hungry kisses chasing their need to touch each other. 

Now that the desperation had faded, it seemed like neither of them wanted to pull back and be separated from each other again. That was new, and Holden wanted to take advantage of every second of it.

His arms wrapped around Amos's shoulders in a last attempt to prolong their touch and the contact was burned into his brain. Amos was here, alive, home. Not everything was lost. He could breathe again.

When they eventually pulled back, Holden's eyes took a minute to flutter open. 

“I'm right here,” Amos said softly, patting Holden's side. He took it as a sign to pull back from the embrace. They'd already been holding on to each other longer than Holden expected, anyway.

“Welcome back,” Holden breathed out, this time laughter shaking his voice instead of anxiety, almost as if he said something ridiculous and the sanest thing he'd ever uttered at the same time.

pinto (my friend's oc)- unfortunately comes into henry's grasp n being a demon; is subject to coming under henry's care bc. her mom fucking sucks n doesn't go to look for her (<- pinto even says "yeah my mom leaves the door open so it's ok if i go out ! +v+")

yadda yadda henry manipulates pinto just like dave while raising her (BARELY. PSIKE IS THE ONE WHO TAKES CARE OF HER MORE. Ne's a big brother to pinto until ne dies 2 years later)

henry has her kill.. has her come with him on one of his freddy trips (where he gets peter KILLED. but it's ok bc peter got to see pinto breaking it down) (IT'S NOT OKAY?????????)

anyways yadda skip 2 years later, psike dies while pinto watched nem work (ne died protecting pinto this time), days later, pinto gets springed; and some time after is when peter becomes more actively involved now that it's just 2 souls in a bot

ok main jist mostly down right?

fast forward to dayshift 1 + cue jack. he goes through dayshift 1 normally and then it's dayshift 2 and... caroline ??? is there as a phone-head? he doesn't know why, but something just feels. off abt this. but he goes through it (<- note, i don't have any of this written out. the lambchop au mainly focused on pinto's perspective)

then dayshift 3.. he goes through with the good end as normal, but WITHOUT evicting naomi bc caroline is there now (she didnt get into a crash! yay!)

but like he gets to the end- the final level of the flipside. and there is a woman he has never seen before (it's martha btw) and for some reason he feels ANGRY. like this isn't supposed to happen.

...and he abandons the run.

he does this a couple more times- repeating everything. but it all ends the same: that woman is there, instead of someone else.

he knows peter is missing. for some reason he feels like peter's supposed to be here, but... peter isn't. and jack doesn't know why.

so he finally gives up. goes for the normal end. buys lambchop, not knowing pinto and PETER are in it. peter had only seen jack from after the newscast of dee happened, but then nothing else. peter recognized his little brother, but he couldn't bring himself to call out to him. in this au... peter and jack hadn't reconciled (or at least the best they could) over dee's death not being jack's fault, so this affects the both of them in different ways.

so, peter thinks it's better to keep pretending to be a 'normal' animatronic (minus the occassional accidental murder. henry put that mechanic on the lambchop animatronic. she's like baby except she really does harvest souls)

ne wayz jack big bucks! he finally buys out his old house and moves out of caroline + naomi's house... for the best. he couldn't stay there any longer

naomi catches wind of smth going on with jack, and knowing that jack was fond of lambchop (note: he tolerated her more. but it was the same 2 naomi) fae breaks in with the intent of making lambchop sentient! (fae doesnt know.)

naomi eventually picks up lambchop isn't just ai but is ok.. still takes her home.. also vicktor works there! soon learns that not only is lambchop possessed by pinto, but peter too! naomi doesn't know who peter is

anyways.. christmas day; yadda yadda; jack + naomi get into a fight over naomi bringing lambchop 2 keep him company.. naomi lets loose that A SMALL CHILD IS IN THAT FUCKING ROBOT because jack was being stubborn abt not being alone and wouldnt accept the 10 ft robot into his home and jack is like "🧍‍♂️ you have to be shitting me." and keeps denying that he doesn't need company, he's better alone, and leaves.

anyways. naomi breaks into jack's home (aka she drives there with lambchop to jack's home and politely knocks. also davetrap bothers them for a bit (he may or may not have spotted depressed jack and went to his house. it was totally fine.) but it's ok because naomi tackles her and lambchop apprehends him)

naomi tries to force jack to tell lambchop straight up why she couldn't stay with him, but jack, stubbornly refusing to, snaps at naomi and the two of them fight in front of pinto, causing peter to take over for lambchop and um. god. peter speaks and jack just. tries to deny that lambchop is possessed. because he knows that voice. he's starting to realize where peter went .

and they talk abt it and oh my god this kinda detracted from the point i was gonna make. huh. fcuk. sorry the lambchop au makes me feel things .

jack still argues at peter, still trying to place himself in the right until he just... tells peter to go away. n peter knows his brother. he knows aggravating him more would do nothing.

i think jack does regret arguing with peter still, ESPECIALLY with that being their first interaction after... god knows how long.

...it pertains to when naomi gets caught up in trouble and pinto (<- only she was able to go through to the flipside), jack, and co have to go through the flipside and reach the end again.

even thought jack claimed to be angry and frustrated at peter, and even though he knew where his soul was.. jack was even more frustrated that martha was still in his place. that he still couldn't save him.

........that was literally the whole point i was trying to make. anyways that's all. hope that help

Aight, you left this nice and vauge, so Im gonna go over the basics (which might still get long we'll see)

Firstly, Stella: She's my OG blorbo. We love a vampire babe. She died when she was 17, she had leukemia. Her brother couldn't stand the thought of her dying, so he broke her out of the hospital and took her to a coven of vampires. Her transformation was violent and she doesn't remember any of it. She woke up in an alley covered in blood with no memory, and her family has no idea what happened to her. She does get horrible dreams of the night her brother took her from the hospital, and they always end with her waking up from intense phantom pain. So fun so edgy. She's a loner, she's mean to everyone because she wants to stay isolated, but she's secretly a softy. So when she sees a teenager hudled in the rain on the street late at night, she takes him in.

Enter Elliot: He's my sweet baby boy, and I love to make him cry. He can see ghosts, like literally. Almost ghost whisperer sytle, but ghosts rarely interact with him. He saw his first ghost at his sister's funeral, at which point he was distracted and really couldn't care. Then the next year his dad died, and he ran away, because he's convinced he's cursed. He jumped on a bus, hoping to runaway to Hollywood, but he ended up in Seattle with no money, following a random stranger home. Then he slept on her couch for so many nights he ended up becoming roomates with a vampire. Stella would never admit it, but she has a huge soft spot for him, and Elliot somehow sees past her cold facade. They are comfy cozy found family, and I'm so normal about it I promise.

There's also Zack: Elliot's childhood best friend and love interest. He's known Elliot since they were 5, and had a crush on him since they were in middle school. He loves puzzles, games, and he runs a FNAF theory blog. So when his best friend up and dissapeared without a word, his response of course was to track him down clear on the other side of the country. He was not prepared however, to find out that Elliot has secret ghost powers, is living with a vampire, and that magic is real.

Also the twins: Forest and Sky. They're human (mostly), but their mother owns a store for magic clientel. The front is your typical corner store, the back is like if a 7-eleven got freaky with every YA fantasy novel ever. They're both practicing magicians, perfectly capable of spells and potions. Sky is fun and energetic. She's outgoing and loves to get into mischief. When she was 7, she made a deal with a loteral demon, and now her right eye can literally see into the future. Forest is much more shy and toned down, prefering to follow rules and avoid attention from others. He went fully deaf at a young age, and prefers to speak using ASL, so he's literally more soft spoken than his sister. He does however have a hidden sassy streak and can be just as mischievous as Sky when he wants to.

I could keep going, but Ill keep the others short. I have Oliver, who's Stella’s older brother. After taking her to the vampires and losing her anyways, he became a vampire hunter under the assumption she died. Naomi, a vampire who works at the shop with Sky and Forest. She's a fruit bat, so instead of drinking blood she eats a metric fuckton of fruit. And lastly Mariana. She's an ancient forest nymph who owns a flowershop. She absolutely HATES Stella, and by the wonders of fate, she offers Zack a job and her extra room when he shows up looking for Elliot. That's right, I've got not one, but TWO boys who unknowingly stumble into being roommates with supernatural beings!

Yes this is the basics, yes I can go more in depth on any of them, Cooper you asked for this and I love you for it.

Naomi retained most of her memory after becoming a vampire, unlike Stella, however her turning is very fuzzy. All she remembers is being bitten by a woman with long white hair, which saved her from a stab wound after being mugged. She's madly in love with this woman and wants to find her so badly.

Forest has a huge crush on Elliot. Zack also has a huge crush on Elliot. Elliot is a sweet boy and everyone has a huge crush on him. Naturally Elliot is oblivious af and would combust if he noticed.

Ultraman X propaganda:

X canonically lost his physical form and lives in Daiichi's phone. His presence caused Daiichi's phone to turn gold, instead of the standard-issue silver the rest of XIO's employees have. It's possible for XIO's scientists to send powerups to X because he lives on Daiichi's phone. There's also a couple episodes where X gets trapped in cyberspace and Dr. Gourman and friends have to design something for Daiichi to help him escape. (Dr. Gourman is the first to notice Daiichi is secretly Ultraman X. Also in the crossover movie, Daiichi and X got separated and X couldn't live on Daiichi's phone so he jumped to the nearest computer (which belonged to Naomi from Ultraman Orb, air date 2016) and began pulling up photos of Daiichi in a "Have You Seen This Nerd?" sort of way. The enemy goons saw Naomi and her cryptid hunting gang putting up missing posters for Daiichi and tore them down bc they had him captured at their crystal witch's base, a creepy haunted house. Eventually when Daiichi and X reunited as man and lil alien on his phone, they were so happy they ignored everyone else in the room. They were grateful enough to fight alongside Naomi's sad space cowboy, Kurenai Gai, in battle.

He's used the phone's vibration function a few times to try and get people's attention, and he doesn't like being turned face-down because he can't see. In order to take on a physical form he has to essentially fuse with his human partner Daichi. (also they get a power up form after Daichi nearly Dies to save him and it's rainbow themed.) While X is very chatty and enjoys talking with his partner, he's often a formless voice while they're fused.The exception being one occasion where he looks like an entire network. tldr this alien is gay he is very polite and deserves your vote.

"but have you seen y/n-san?" atsushi asked

atsushi, tanizaki and naomi were stood in front of nekoma's gym, trying to look for the girl, as per the president's wishes. "its been about a day since you guys went out to the arcade, right?" tanizaki chimed in "has she shown herself to you, or atleast texted any of you?" 

kenma frowned as he shook his head no. he looked back at the team who were trying to act like they weren't eavesdropping. 

"no.. i just assumed she was busy with work" kenma muttered 

"hmm, i tried to ask ranpo-san but he's too busy" naomi chimed in as she hugged tanizaki's arm to her chest 

"oya oya, sorry to barge in on the conversation-" kuroo interjected. the captain had a sly grin on his face as he walked towards the group. "but we just so happen to overhear something about our manager going missing?" kuroo mused 

"yes, sorry if we're intruding" atsushi bowed 

"but y/n-san went missing again, and the president ordered us to find her in under four hours" tanizaki sighed 

"or else we get our asses handed to us" atsushi shuddered 

kuroo and kenma gave each other a look and nodded along. "we'll try to look for her later" kuroo said "we'll let you guys know" 

"thank you so much!" atsushi exclaimed with a smile "would you mind calling the agency if you find her?" he said as he handed them a piece of paper with the agency's number

he's been running around the streets of tokyo, passing through every street and alleyway to try and look for the girl. so far he hasn't seen a single trace of her, not even a single person who has managed to pass by her. 

"y/n.." kenma huffed out. he was currently by a riverbank, leaning against the metal railings of the bridge while he tried to catch his breath. 

"you called?" 

kenma jumped at the sudden emission of her oh-so-familiar voice, and turned around to face her "what the- y/n?! where did you come from?!" kenma shrieked out 

"also, where have you been?! atsushi-kun and a bunch of people from your job came to the school today looking for you" he said 

y/n chuckled and strode over to his side, jumping over the rails and sitting on the flat surface of the bars. "if i told you that the port mafia took me hostage and threatened to execute me, would you believe it?" she mused 

"no." 

"then i won't bother to say" she shrugged 

kenma eyed her warily. her port mafia story could actually be believable, now that he thought about it. given as, her bandages were loosened and torn, almost as if they broke off with too much movement. and along with the dried blood resting upon her cheeks and hands. 

"are you okay?" kenma asked worriedly 

even if it was believable, it could've been just her trying to kill herself yet again. not that it was any better

"of course" she smiled "though my body is a bit sore.. chuuya really doesn't hold back"

kenma froze and slowly turned his head towards her with a blank and emotionless look on his face. 

"chuuya doesn't what." kenma spat out "did you seriously disappear to hook up with that dog? that-that man child? that eyesore? that-" 

"what are you talking about?" she laughed

kenma huffed and propped his elbow on the cold metal, resting his chin on his hand as he pouted 

"you're really funny, kenma-kun" she mused 

"really? cause im not laughing." kenma grumbled "i ran around the whole city for you, only to find out you ran off with some guy" his honey hued orbs eyed her down, watching her chuckle softly as the golden rays of the sun illuminated the surroundings around her

"y/n.." he mumbled "why did you really disappear?" 

"i already told you" she replied with a sigh "the port mafia is truly a force to reckon with" 

"that's why you gotta stay safe, kenma-kun" she mused "you never know who and when they'll strike next" 

kenma sighed and nodded along. it was old news -- the port mafia, that is -- its been stirring up the whole city for the past few months. 

"ne, kenma-kun" she called out "if we do end up dying alongside each other, i suggest we drown ourselves in this river." she said 

she stared down at the flowing water, the golden colour of the setting sun reflecting off of it. "its clear and pretty, not much people are around.. its quite tranquil." she hummed

"i never really understood this.." kenma muttered "but why are you so intent on dying?" 

"and i never understood you, and so many others." she replied "tell me, kenma.." she turned to face him, her bandaged hands loosely gripping the railings, as her legs and feet dangle off the ledge. 

"do you really think there's any value in the act of living?" 

kenma didn't answer. instead he stared at her, and her clouded eyes, each orb holding an unforgivable amount of sin and deciet that he could only imagine. 

"well.. is there any value in the act of dying?" he asked back 

she blinked dumbfoundedly at him, fairly shocked at his question. 

"isn't there anything else you desire? life is kinda cool too yaknow?" kenma said in a sheepish tone 

she stared at him a few minutes longer before averting her gaze. she chuckled and closed her eyes as the cold wind breezed past. "man fears death, and at the same time, man is drawn to death" she said 

"its a singular event in one's life that no one may reverse" she hummed "and that is my greatest desire." 

kenma didn't know how to reply to that, so he didn't. he simply looked down up at the setting sun, letting silence wash upon them both. 

"hey kenma" she called out. kenma looked at her, curious and wary. "yes?" he asked 

"wanna hang with an old friend with me?" she suggested with a soft smile

"me? won't that be intrusive though? i don't really know them.." kenma muttered nervously

"it's fine. he'd probably be happy i even talk to people my age" she said with a chuckle. she jumped off the railings and landed on the ground with a grin. she stretched her aching arms over her head and patted kenma's back. 

"he's a lot like you" she mused "always saying life is worth living and all.." 

"okay then.." kenma agreed reluctantly "but if i sense that person doesn't like me one bit, im leaving." he groaned out

"im pretty sure that won't happen" she chuckled sheepishly 

"why are we in a cementary?" kenma grumbled 

"is this where you kill us both?" he scoffed playfully "i wouldn't be surprised if you already have a hole dug for us" 

she chuckled and shook her head "no, no" she mused "were just taking a small stroll" she cooed as she looked around the awfully empty surrounding  "ah! there it is" she perked up "it's been so long since i went here that i almost forgot my way around" 

kenma followed her as she skipped away, though he was quite confused, he didn't question her. 

"hurry, kenma" she called out as she watched him struggle to walk faster "i hate you" he grumbled back, which she chose to ignore 

she smiled softly as she stood infront of the oh-so-familiar grave. 

"geez." she mumbled "its been so long since we hung out, odasaku" 

"shame we couldn't meet at the usual place" she chuckled and sat down on the grassy ground. she leaned back on the gravestone, resting her back against it as she waited for kenma to arrive 

"y/n?" on cue, kenma chimed in. he was panting slightly, most likely from running and walking around for so long "what are you doing?" kenma raised a brow at her 

"kozume kenma-kun.." she called out

"yes?" he asnwered

"do you know whose grave this is?" she mused, pointing her thumb to the gravestone she was leaning on 

kenma eyed the name engraved on the stone and shook his head. "no..but it's someone dear to you, right?" 

"what makes you think that?" she hummed out in amusement 

"i've never seen you pay visit to a grave before" kenma muttered. the pudding head hesitantly sat down infront of her, bowing at the grave before settling down on the ground. 

"does it look like im visiting a grave to you?" she asked with curiosity 

"it does.. why?"

she smiled softly and leaned her head back, letting it fall and her eyes to land straight at the cloudy sky "well, i thought of it as hanging out with a friend but.." she trailed off 

"i guess that works too" she sighed out 

kenma frowned as he watched her close her eyes. her smile faltering as a wave of comforting silence washed upon them. "im sorry" kenma muttered "i shouldn't have said anything.." 

"its fine." she chuckled "its been years since he died." she smiled bitterly "i guess it's time someone snaps me out of my daydreams" 

kenma didn't respond. he simply toyed with the grass on the ground and the few flowers littered around. 

"yaknow, kenma" she said with a smile "you're the first person i brought here" 

"me? why?" kenma asked in surprise and confusion 

"because this friend of mine was a good man." she said "he told me to try and look for my reason to live."

"and i think i found it" she whispered as he looked into his eyes 

kenma blinked in shock as he basked in her awfully heartwarming words. 

"my reason to live is to die with you." 

"of course. its gonna be about suicide again." kenma sighed dejectedly.  "but y/n, if you think of me as your reason to live.. then i'll take it upon myself to keep you alive" kenma smiled at her, tucking his blond hair behind his ears as he kept his honey hued orbs trained on hers. 

"kenma.." she teared up 

she blinked repeatedly as she opened her mouth to speak. 

"i.. I DON'T WANT THAT! I WANNA DIE WITH YOU!" she whined loudly "i already had our suicide planned! i even suggested the whole river thing a while ago!" she exclaimed 

kenma deadpanned as he watched her ramble on and on about her ideal double suicide. "i really don't care." kenma groaned out "i don't want you to die." he whined "why do you keep trying to kill yourself" 

"just because, okay?!" 

"just for that, im gonna call your agency and hand you over" kenma sighed as he dialled the agency's number 

"traitor!" she shrieked "kunikida-kun will undoubtedly beat me up" kenma ignored her as he started speaking on the phone. 

"yes, she's with me.." he muttered "is she behaved?" he repeated the question as he sent her a pointed glare 

"no, not really" he scoffed 

"kenma, you're heartless!" she shrieked in horror 

"cmon. let's atleast pay respects to your friend before we leave" kenma said with a sigh "dont worry, kenma-kun! i already thought this through" she grinned. she then pulled out a bottle of sake and a book and placed it on the ground. 

"you brought him alcohol? seriously?" kenma furrowed his brows 

"hey, it's two of his favourite things, okay?" she defended with a laugh 

"do you know how ridiculous i looked while buying these things at the store?" she chuckled "they thought i was a madman or something!" 

"i would've too" kenma answered back 

"you're so mean to me, kenma" she pouted "anyways, we should go." she said as she dusted her pants and unravelled a thin layer of her torn bandages. 

"i can't wait to tell you about this suicide method i learned about." she beamed. she tugged on his arm and pulled him away as she continued to blabber on his ear "apparently this one does the job right away!" she exclaimed 

"can you believe it, kenma?" 

"wow. crazy." he replied dryly 

"yeah, and all we gotta do is shoot ourselves with these guns-" 

"no." 

"oh my, this almost feels like a welcome home party!" she cheered. she gave the detectives a close eyed smile while they simply stared back at her with a look of agitation and worry 

"where the hell were you?!" kunikida exclaimed angrily as he tapped his foot on the ground 

"the port mafia!" she answered back nonchalantly 

they all perked up in surprise from her claim. "huh?! the port mafia?!" 

"hai hai! but don't make a big deal about it!" she chuckled as she waved her hands dismissively 

"you could've died!" kunikida exclaimed  "now, now! i'd like to think of it as akutagawa-kun needing some attention that's all" she joked 

"jesus christ" kunikida sighed as he adjusted his glasses "that boy could kill you and you still won't take him seriously" 

"anyways, why is he here?" he asked as he pointed to kenma, who simply ignored him and avoided their eyes as he played on his phone 

"oh! he's the one who found me, so i thought it'd be right for me to repay him" she smiled brightly as she squeezed kenma to her chest, all while he unbotherdly continued on with his game

"i've thought of so many fun things we could do back in my dorm, hehehe~" she chuckled mischievously as kenma's face paled. she only gripped him tighter when he tried to scurry away. 

"i- i see.." kunikida stuttered out. he looked at them with wide eyes as she started squeezing him tighter while kenma tried to pry her off 

"y/n, you're strangling me!" kenma huffed out "i know!" she grinned 

"we'll leave you two alone then!" kenji said with his usual smile as he ushered the others away 

"they're worse than tanizaki-kun and naomi-san.." atsushi shuddered "that's because she's trying to kill him" tanizaki sweat dropped 

"and herself, as well" yosano sneered "go get your man!" she cheered as she sent y/n a sneaky wink 

"yosano-san! don't encourage her!"

Hey mortals and fools, Time for the death note meet-up!

(I'm pretty sure this photo isn't enough to know my face for writing the death note, AND it expresses my personality pretty well so I figured it would be PERFECT. )

Anyways, I'm Sofia, Ukrainian, lesbian and 14 years old.( I know this is actually pretty young for this fandom but I'm glad to be here anyways. )

My interests include

art(duh..),

reading/imagining fanfics instead of sleep,

musicals (although I suck at singing),

Ukrainian politics and history (I have a tragic backstory ™ about having to move because of the war with Russia and my old house being destroyed, but I was to young to be strongly affected),

higher-then-school-level math for contests (although I've kinda lost motivation for it this last year),

Philosophy (this is recent so I'm not too educated in it yet),

And Fandoms, where I spend most of my energy these days.

The story of me getting into death note is actually kinda funny. I often put off recommendations in fear of getting obsessed with them and I wasn't actually going to watch dn for about a year because it was an anime, and I didn't wanna get into anime in the near future. I literally spoiled the timeline to myself because of Film Theory's "how many people died" video.

However in the start of last winter I *tried* to come out to my parents and it ended badly. They told me not to watch shows with gay rep ( they thought I was like this because of 'gay propaganda'). I needed a new hyperfixation they wouldn't bash me for and I conveniently had a death note based dream after a few days. But it was still an anime so I was hesitant.

Then, my girlfriend at the time (who my parents didn't know about) asked me to watch the first season of Tokyo Ghoul with her. I couldn't say no. And then I realised I have already watched an anime, so on the first(second, technically) of January (when I had to wake up early for a trip) I bingewatched like 8 episodes instead of sleep. My phone was lagging though, and I have vivid flashbacks of my anger at Naomi's death scene not loading. In the next two days I finished the show watching it in every possible minute while being on the trip. Then I got absolutely obsessed.
