'Portrait of Jacques Wittewronghele' as painted in 1574 by Cornelis Visscher the Elder. Wittewronghele (1531-1593) was a London notary, which is to say that he was the legal official who officiated over the authentication of signatures, one of the oldest recognised roles for lawyers which extends into different areas of law including probates and wills, and the sale and purchase of property. Please left click here for a multi-lingual history of the role of notary. Please left click here to read more about Wittewronghele.

One of the socialist things I’d like to see ALONG WITH UBI (not instead of) is a government option for all basic neccesities. I am aware that the government option would -suck- and as long as it’s survivably functional, I’m fine with that. When I was a kid, we got monthly commodity food boxes. They’d be filled with food that looked like this:

And in lean months, it would be that and whatever we could get from the garden, or forage/fish, or trade with friends and neighbors. My mom had this awesome recipe for peanut butter balls that utilized the powdered milk, shit-quality peanut butter, and maple-flavored corn syrup that we routinely got in our box and actually made it good.
I think that these things should be available for purchase at every supermarket, and that the prices should be fixed with relation to the minimum wage. All brands should have to compete with the government option - if SPAM is going to be more expensive than LUNCHEON MEAT in the silver can, then it needs to justify that cost by being better quality.
I want the same thing for housing. I want fucking Commie Blocks to be an option.
This would combat runaway inflation by putting a price cap on survival needs. It would guard against shrinkflation, because a consumers could compare the Government Standard portion to the brands. UBI ought to be such that it covers The Government Option for food, housing, clothing, transit etc. with generous wiggle room for emergency savings and little joys in life.
Everyone should get their own UBI account in their own name at birth, along with their social security number. It should follow the individual regardless of guardianship. Parents/guardians should have incrementally less and less control over said funds as the child gets older, and should have to provide itemized receipts of how money taken from a child’s account is spent (Similar to what you have to do if you’re in control of an elder’s social security money).
https://www.ssa.gov/ssi/text-repayee-ussi.htm
'Each year, we will ask certain representative payees to complete a Representative Payee Accounting Report showing how they spent and saved the money they received for you during the 12-month report period.'
These are steps that would could easily institute tomorrow be reallocating funding, and they’d have a huge impact on cost of living for everyone.
This rant brought to you by the fact that store brand canned luncheon meat in my local grocery held fast at a dollar for the better part of two decades but now costs $2.18.
#I was my mom's representative payee while she was still living in the community#Now the memory care home she lives in recieves her SS directly

While strawberries certainly are a reddish-pink color and are roundish in shape, the origin of the name “Strawberry Moon” has nothing to do with the Moon’s hue or appearance.
• June's full Moon is typically the last full moon of spring or the first of summer. The June Full Moon will be extraordinary. For the first time since 1985, Full Moon happens precisely on the summer solstice, when the Sun is highest up. Because the Full Moon is always opposite the Sun, this year, you will see that the Moon is 10 widths lower on the horizon than the Sun ever is.
This “Strawberry Moon” name has been used by Native American Algonquian tribes that live in the northeastern United States as well as the Ojibwe, Dakota, and Lakota peoples to mark the ripening of “June-bearing” strawberries that are ready to be gathered. The Haida term Berries Ripen Moon reflects this as well. As flowers bloom and early fruit ripens, June is a time of great abundance for many.

The history of Litha reveals its deep connections to ancient agricultural societies & their reliance on the sun's power. Celebrated as part of the Wheel of the Year, Litha symbolizes the balance between light & darkness. Throughout history customs such as bonfires, herb gathering & the construction of sunwheels have marked this festival. Today, Litha continues to be celebrated by various communities, with gatherings at sacred sites & private rituals in natural settings. It serves as a reminder of our connection with nature and the cycles of life.
• The traditions of Litha appear to be borrowed from many cultures. Most ancient cultures celebrated the summer solstice in some way such as the Celts celebrated Litha with hilltop bonfires & dancing. Many people attempted to jump over or through the bonfires for good luck. Other European traditions included setting large wheels on fire & rolling them down a hill into a body of water.
Litha is often associated with Midsummer, a celebration that extends beyond the pagan and Wiccan traditions. Midsummer festivities are observed in many cultures around the world, including Scandinavian countries where it holds a prominent place in their cultural heritage. Midsummer dances, bonfires, & feasts are integral parts of these celebrations, often accompanied by folklore and traditional rituals that honor the sun's energy and the abundance of nature during this time.
The summer solstice is the longest day of the year & in some traditions, Litha is when The Sun(The God) is symbolically at it's peak time of power & the World will soon be ripe to harvest. It is also when The Goddess is pregnant with The God who is to be reborn at Yule.
• In the Northern Hemisphere the Summer Solstice occurs when the Sun reaches its highest and northernmost points in the sky. It marks the start of summer in the northern half of the globe. (In contrast, the June solstice in the Southern Hemisphere is when the Sun is at its lowest point in the sky, marking the start of winter.)
Some also believe the history & spirit of Litha revolve around two deities, The Oak King & The Holly King. In Wiccan and Neo-Pagan traditions, each King rules the Earth for half of the year. From Yule to Litha, the Oak King rules. On Litha, the two battled for the crown and it is then that the Holly King triumphs. The Holly King will rule through fall until Yule, and the cycle will begin again.
Related festivals:
• Vestalia- June 7th -15th
Was a Roman religious festival in honor of Vesta, the goddess of the hearth & the burning continuation of the sacred fire of Rome. It was held from 7–15 June & was reserved as a women's-only event. Domestic & family life in general were represented by the festival of the goddess of the house & of the spirits of the storechamber — Vesta & the Penates .
On the first day of festivities the penus Vestae (sanctum sanctorum of the temple of Vesta which was usually curtained off) was opened for the only time during the year, at which women offered sacrifices. As long as the curtain remained open, mothers could come, barefoot and disheveled, to leave offerings to the goddess in exchange for a blessing to them and their family.
For the last day, the penus Vestae was solemnly closed, the Flaminica Dialis observed mourning & the temple was subjected to a purification called stercoratio: the filth was swept from the temple and carried next by the route called clivus Capitolinus and then into the Tiber.

Celebrating Imbolc as a solitary practitionner
You'll find that some of these ideas wander a little outside your typical Imbolc rituals, as I've included many of my own experiences alongside your more traditional practices!

Baking sweets or bread! Oatcakes, honey cakes, scones, herb bread (bonus points for use of rosemary), and lamb are among my favorite Imbolc dishes. Anything herb, oat, dairy, or honey is typical.
Cleaning your home, coupled with cleansing of the rooms and objects of your choice.
Make yourself a nice cup of tea! Lavender and chamomile tea are staples. Bonus: sweeten it using honey and milk, both traditional ingredients of the season.
Learn about the Goddess Brigid! I'm a heathen, but I've always found it rewarding and fulfilling to learn about other mythologies and deities of other pantheons! You'll find the myth of Brigid is tightly intertwined with the celebration of Imbolc, and understanding one leads to a better understanding of the other.
Decorating with white, blue, red and gold! Lambs, the moon, corn dolls, fire, brooms, sunwheels, eggs, candles, and snowdrops are imagery associated with this celebration.
Work with the moon, or with a moon deity that you worship.
Making or decorating candles, and crafting Brigid's crosses.
Enjoy a glass of milk! Feel free to flavor it using honey, blackberry syrup or leaves, chamomile, or elderflower! (Important note: elder flowers, not berries or other parts of the elder plant, which are poisnonous when uncooked.) Bonus points if you enjoy an apple alongside it! I've taken to making apple quarters to eat when night has fallen on February 1st.
Make a list of elements of your life that you would like to see "grow"! What are your current ambitions? What projects do you want to see bear fruit?
Start a knitting project, or learn how to knit! Making a cloak, referred to as Brigid's mantle, is a common way to honor the Goddess Brigid.
Visit a local body of water, especially springs! They are the perfect spot to notice the end of winter, when their ice begins to melt. It's common practice to make pebble offerings to bodies of water, in order to thank the earth for its gift of sweet water.
Make an offering to the faerie folk (for example, milk and biscuits), or start learning how to work with them.
Acquire a new house plant, or even better: sow a seed for a new plant to grow in your home!
Work with the element of fire, for example, by practicing fire-based magic, by lighting candles in the house, or by lighting a bonfire/hearth fire.
Play calm music, especially harp music!
Appreciate the quiet and calm of nighttime, for example, by leaving your home in the dark once the sun sets, and lighting it up with nothing but candles as a symbol of the returning sun.
Reading or reciting poetry! Especially poetry pertaining to the night, winter, spring, nature and the like. Feeling inspired? Why not try writing some poetry yourself!

WIND BREAKER | squid games
Synopsis ✰ would they survive the squid games, how long, what games they fumbled, etc.
Characters ✰ Haruka Sakura, Hajime Umemiya, Hayato Suo, Akihiko Nirei, Kaji Ren, Toma Hiragi, Mitsuki Kiryu, Jo Togame, Choji Tomiyama
Contains ✰ sfw!, death mentions, squid games mentioned (obvi), mix of season 1 and 2 games, not meant to be taken seriously, squid games spoilers (no plot spoils but game spoilers), character focused, no reader mentioned (sorryyy, brief mention in kiryu’s), kind hearted!Ume, hero!nirei, choji and jo are stuck together like glue
Haruka Sakura ᡣ𐭩
☆ Sakura is a natural leader so you’d figure these games would be a breeze. they were not. he made it pretty far through but definitely struggled at the mini games challenge. most likely led a rebellion during the entire commotion. finds it stupid that everyone’s expected to follow through on these dumb games for someone else’s entertainment. he’d most likely try to save as many people as he possibly can. passes every game on a whim. definitely is the kind of player who has your heart racing at every moment as he always wins at the very last second. is most likely fucked at the glass bridge challenge. Mingle was also a struggle for him as he wanted to help everyone but also needed to help himself. definitely tried to fight a guard or two a couple times and got himself put in time out. if his friends are put into the same games he’s in he tries a lot harder to win and help them. definitely prioritizes his friends and will make sure they’re okay before he deals with his own fate. definitely gets into a bunch of screaming matches and fights with the yes voters.
Hajime Umemiya ᡣ𐭩
☆ similar to Sakura where he prioritizes others over himself. he makes it to final game due to his kindness. he was helpful towards everyone and they wanted to return the favor. definitely helps out the girls and elders who got themselves caught up in this crazy situation. everyone hides behind him during red light green light due to his large figure. he doesn’t mind and encourages them to do so. if his friends are in his games he always ensures their safety. surprisingly good at ddkaji. makes many new friends and creates close connections to those around him. gets very overwhelmed and frustrated when people keep voting to continue the games. stands up for anyone who is getting pushed around or corned. 100% confronts the greedy people who are sacrificing others for the money. gets challenged to a lot of fights but is good enough to dodge all their punches causing them to just to embarrass themselves in front of everyone. lots of women feel safe around him.
Hayato Suo ᡣ𐭩
☆ he’s such a safe space it’s unreal. he’s so gentle and kind towards everyone there. unless they’re major douche bags, he can see right through their facade. makes it past a good amount of the games. he’s skilled at many things so the games actually happened to be pretty easy for him. he can most likely win the game if it was just himself. if his friends were also there he wouldn’t get as far. not because they’re holding him back but because he cares too much about them to ever bare the idea of taking their place. definitely is the kind of soul who would sacrifice himself during the marble game if it was one of his friends he was playing with. doesn’t engage in any physical fights. he doesn’t see the point in fighting with each other, it’ll just make things worse. doesn’t mean he won’t defend himself or his friends. he only steps up if it’s one of his friends getting threatened, like Nirei. he’ll 100% stand up for him and wipe the floor with that guy.
Akihiko Nirei ᡣ𐭩
☆ if he’s alone without his friends he most likely dies during the killing spree at night. he dies trying to protect the friends he’s made during the games. makes it sadder since he’ll prolly die right before the lights get turned on and before the guards can stop everything. he couldn’t bring himself to just watch as his new comrades were fighting for their lives. however, if his friends are there things go differently. they go out of their way to help him and make sure he’s okay after every round. they definitely support each other and have each others backs during the fight. poor guy has his adrenaline rush at every moment and second of the day. he probably feels like he’s having an heart attack at some times because of it. maybe he actually is. it’s possible with the amount of shock that is entering his body after every event. definitely plays more of a hero role than usual. with the way the adrenaline is always hitting him he gets more bold as the games continue. ready to put himself on the line at any moment he needs to.
Kaji Ren ᡣ𐭩
☆ probably dies within the first game ngl. his hearing has gotten so bad during all his years of blasting music into his ear drums. this makes it really hard for him to actually hear anything during red light green light. due to the robot also yelling every other second it triggers that small ringing in his ear to continue throughout the entire game. might mishear the robot and walk when he wasn’t supposed to. mutters a small “oh shit.” if Hiragi is in the game with him he most likely uses him for cover. especially after getting scolded by Hiragi to stay behind him and not to move until he does. uses others as a guide to know when to move or not. super skeptical for the rest of the games. lwk doesn’t trust anyone except his actual close friends. develops trust issues after this but survives. he can’t stand the amount of greed that can be found in the crowd at times. questions humanity altogether. will join sakura is openly arguing with the yes voters.
Toma Hiragi ᡣ𐭩
☆ he’s making it to the finals. he’s a mix of being skilled and also getting lucky. he definitely carried his team during tug of war but still felt guilty at the aftermath. his win during tug of war was more impressive as he ended up with a weaker team in comparison to the others. he felt bad for them since it looked like no one else wanted to team up with them. he probably ditched whatever group he formed to make sure they had at least someone who can help them. he for sure can be seen being visibly uncomfortable with the situation. he hates how everyone is a pawn in this incredibly sick environment. he for sure had to save Kaji a few times during the games. he tries to ease a lot of the tension. is always the one deescalating the fights whenever he can. or as much as he can. won’t throw the first punch but will help defend his friends no matter what. he definitely keeps a look out for the more weaker players. he hates to see anyone try to take advantage of them or their weaknesses.
Mitsuki Kiryu ᡣ𐭩
☆ every girl’s bodyguard ngl. he’s for sure the type to find an epic romance right in the middle of the games. not the appropriate time to persuade someone but he manages to anyway. it’s too easy for him to swoon people off their feet especially when they’re all alone during mingle and he’s taking the cutest thing he sees and running straight into a room with them hand in hand. he figures if there’s any chance of him going out during this he’s going to experience having a lover before death. he’s just a romantic at heart, he can’t help it. he’s probably really shy and slightly nervous after if both of you survive. his friends are for sure in shock at how he managed to get himself in a relationship at such a bad time. he probably gets pretty far into the games but depending on who he’s with he might not make it all the way. his best game was surprisingly glass bridge. the man’s luck is insane!
Jo Togame ᡣ𐭩
☆ this man is glued to Choji’s hip like crazy. He takes the games super seriously and tries his best in all of them. his best games were tug of war and the spinning top. he was surprisingly crazy at the spinning top. he was pretty familiar with most of the games due to Choji always wanting to play some whenever he was bored. the reason he’s with Choji is because he wouldn’t have even joined or found himself in this position if it wasn’t for him. Jo had a “if you do it i’ll do it.” mentality when he first agreed to participate. neither one of them had assumed it would ever be this serious. he looks fine asf in the set ngl. (SORRY NOT SORRY). he has the jacket half zipper, the sleeves slightly pushed up half way past his forearm, you can see his muscles and veins showing as they’re flexed during tug of war. honestly he doesn’t really care about anyone else there. he’s just so focused on choji’s safety he can’t bring himself to worry about others with his hands being full already. however, if Sakura and his friends are there he also cares deeply about Sakura’s safety. he’ll try to help them out whenever he can.
Choji Tomiyama ᡣ𐭩
☆ he’s probably getting swung around all over the place by Togame. he doesn’t really care though he’s still enjoying himself while having his hand in Jo’s and being dragged everywhere. he’s probably laughing to himself in amusement at Jo’s efforts to protect him. unlike Jo he doesn’t take the games seriously. he has fun with them. he figures if anything happens to him he might as well should live in the moment. his favorite game was red light green light. he was definitely skipping during the green light sections. probably swinging his arms around while doing so until Jo would pull him back behind him right before it turned red. he’s always curious about what else is in store for the next event. despite having somewhat fun he never votes yes to continue the game. he gets tired of it quickly and wants to go home after like two games. he also cares a lot about Jo and finds his efforts nice. unlike jo he actually is awful at a lot of the games. despite him being the one to teach jo how to play a lot of them he’s never fully mastered any skills himself.

The Tsenahale, the ancient giant eagles [Navajo mythology]!

In the distant past, humans were hunted by a group of giant, terrifying monsters collectively known as the Naye’i. Though mankind persevered, they were spread thin and had to live in hiding and in fear. The Naye’i were a diverse group of strange monsters, all of which enjoyed hunting and eating humans. Among them were the Tsenahale, a pair of colossal bird monsters somewhat resembling giant eagles.
They were born from a pile of eagle feathers and they enjoyed grabbing people with their enormous talons and carrying them to the nest, where their unfortunate victims would be eaten by their young. The Tsenahale employed ravens as spies, and these minions told them the hiding spots of humans.
One day, a group of gods and humans came together on a mountaintop and performed a ritual upon two small images of a woman: one made of turquoise, the other made out of a white shell. The group sang a magic song and turned these two small images into real women, fashioning a body for both out of deer skin, corn and magic. These two women were named Estsánatlehi and Yolkaí Estsán, meaning ‘changing woman’ and ‘white shell woman’ respectively. They were left on the mountain, clueless and lonely, but after four days they began to explore their surroundings.
Estsánatlehi, the elder sister, was impregnated by the sun while her sister was impregnated by a waterfall. Four days later, both siblings realized they were pregnant, and another four days later they gave birth to two baby boys, which would later be called the Hero Twins of the Navajo people. As the sisters were not human, neither were their sons, and in only four days they had reached the age of twelve.
As the boys grew older, they longed to meet their father and set out on a journey to find him. Along their travels, they met the spider spirit, a kind old lady who told them that they were fathered by the sun. Spider gave the two young men a magic charm made from eagle feathers, which were potent because they were plucked from living eagles. She also taught them magic to prepare them for their quest, and so they set out to find the sun. This journey is an important story in Navajo religion: the hero twins overcome many challenges and strange creatures using wit (rather than strength), Spider’s magic and the protection from the wind, which had grown fond of them.
Eventually they reached the house of Tsohanoai, the sun god. They found his wife and told him that they were fathered by the sun.
When Tsohanoai came home (and hung the sun on a rack on his wall), he was angry at the intruders, who were too afraid to say anything. This silence was then broken by his wife, who was furious at her solar spouse. After all, if these two young men were indeed his sons then it meant he had been unfaithful to her. So Tsohanoai made them pass a series of deadly trials to prove that they were indeed children of the sun god, and they succeeded using the help of the wind and their eagle feather charms. Tsohanoai admitted defeat, these two lads were indeed his children, and so he armed them with magical weapons so that they could set out and slay the Naye’i. The boys received armor made from flint, an enchanted stone knife, and a series of powerful magical arrows. Upon returning to the world of mortals, one of the twins shot a lightning arrow at the Tsoodzil (which is called Mount Taylor today) and made a large cleft which is still visible to this day. And so, the two heroes set out to fight the Naye’i.

After successfully killing two of the giant beasts, the older brother left to fight the giant eagles, the Tsenahale, which made their nest on a tall black mountain which was shaped like a bird. He had received the name Nayenezgani from his brother, meaning ‘slayer of the Naye’i’. Before arriving at the nest, however, he heard the mighty sound of the monster’s wings, which sounded like a whirlwind, and the beast grabbed the boy in its talons. The Tsenahale dropped its prey from a great height, and the fall would surely have killed Nayenezgani if he didn’t have Spider’s magic feather charm.
Clever as always, the hero decided to play dead until the monster’s children approached him and tried to eat him. Nayenezgani hissed and the giant chicks recoiled, telling their father that this human was still alive and had hissed at them. The monster ignored it and told them that no human could survive a fall like that, so they probably just heard the sound of air escaping from the corpse.
Then the Tsenahale left and Nayenezgani immediately got up and pointed his magical arrows at the chicks. He demanded to know when their parents would return, and where they usually landed. The young birds told him everything he wanted to know, and so Nayenezgani set up an ambush. When the male and female Tsenahale returned, he knew exactly where they would land and shot them with lightning bolt arrows.
Upon seeing their parents dead, the chicks were terrified, but Nayenezgani was wise and thought it would be unjust to kill them too. Instead, he used his magic to turn one of them into an eagle and told it ‘You will provide bones for humans to craft whistles, and feathers to use in their ceremonies. The other chick was turned into an owl and Nayenezgani said to him ‘your hooting will be used by the humans for divination’. And so, instead of growing up to be man-hunting monsters, the chicks were turned into animals that were useful for mankind.
Now the beasts had been slain, but the slayer was stuck in the giant nest with no way to reach the ground below. As luck would have it, the bat spirit happened to pass by and offered to help the young man down in exchange for the feathers of the Tsenahale. Bat put these feathers in her basket, and Nayenezgani warned her not to enter the nearby sunflower field while carrying the monster feathers. Bat ignored his warnings, however, and as soon as she set foot among the sunflowers, all the feathers turned into birds and a large variety of birds suddenly flew out of her basket and dispersed among the world. And that is why there are so many bird species today.
Bat, having no feathers left to embellish herself, was so ashamed of her appearance and decided to never go out during the day. And that is why bats are nocturnal animals.

Tears In His Ferrari - 10
Character: Bucky Barnes x Farmer!Reader
Summary: Bucky Barnes, used to a life of luxury, takes on farm challenges in a bet with his father. Mud-stained Ferraris and a rustic farmhouse lead to unexpected personal growth, guided by the stern mentorship of Y/N, a farmer making his city-boy life difficult.
Theme: Fluff, Slice of Life, Heart-Warming.
Main Masterlist || If you enjoy my work, please consider buying me a coffee on: Ko-fi 🙏🏻
Thank you to anyone who gave a like, reblog, and left a comment. It motivated me to write more.
Chapters: Chp 1, Chp 2,Chp 3 , Chp 4 , Chp 5 , Chp 6 , Chp 7 , Chp 8 , Chp 9 , Chp 10 , Chp 11 , Chp 12.
Bucky's heroic story of helping Toby's grandmother and bringing her to the hospital with his red Ferrari became the talk of the town.
The next day, he went to the fresh market with Y/N's parents to buy fruits and flowers.
He was planning to revisit Toby’s grandmother. He didn’t know why, but he felt a sense of melancholy toward elders, especially since his own grandparents had passed away before he was born.
As Bucky looked at the oranges, the locals greeted him warmly, especially the elders.
One grandfather said, “Thank you for helping Toby's grandma, young man. Here's some fresh corn and potatoes for you.”
Bucky smiled warmly and replied, “Oh, yes, we should help each other.”
Another grandmother approached him and said, “Are you the Barnes kid who helped my friend? Here's an orange for you.”
The kind old lady handed him baskets of oranges, her eyes twinkling with gratitude.
Then he felt someone tap his shoulder. He felt like a big shadow towering over him. It was Thor.
Thor exclaimed, "Buddy, you were a great help yesterday. Here, I'll give you my biggest catch today."
Bucky widened his eyes in surprise. "Oh no, it's alright. Urghh."
This was the first time in Bucky's life that he carried a heavy fish.
With each step he took, someone would greet him and give him something. He had never experienced this sense of community back in the city, and he appreciated how supportive the locals were of each other.
Samanta chuckled upon seeing Bucky looking clueless. “You've become the local celebrity.”
Bucky blinked in surprise. “Really?”
“Yup. Oh, my daughter just called. Some people are at your farm.”
“That's right. I have to go back.” Bucky clapped his hands excitedly. He suspected that what he requested from his dad had arrived.
He stepped on the gas and drove fast to his place. When he arrived, he saw a few teenagers and kids standing near his house.
Y/N was also there, looking a bit overwhelmed as she guarded the youngsters from entering the house.
The truck stopped, and Bucky got out of the car.
He greeted Y/N with a smile. "What's up?"
Y/N sighed in relief. "They want to see your car, but I thought they needed your permission first."
The group of youngsters looked at Bucky with puppy eyes. In a second, he remembered being a young kid, also interested in sports cars when his dad brought him to the F1 race car. The experience was amazing, and it made him fall in love with fast cars.
As a fellow car lover, Bucky welcomed them. "It's alright. Do you want to see what it looks like inside?"
"Yeah!!" The youngsters cheered in excitement.
Bucky showed them his Ferrari car and enthusiastically explained the engine and the machinery.
Y/N observed Bucky, who looked genuinely excited. She remarked, “You've become the celebrity.”
Bucky chuckled, unable to contain his enthusiasm. “I can't help it.”
“By the way,” Y/N continued, “your father sent a pick-up truck. I didn't know you needed another one.”
Bucky's eyes lit up. “It's here? Yes! And it's not for me.”
“Then for who?” Y/N inquired, curiosity piqued.
🏥
At the hospital, Toby was speechless when he saw the pick-up truck. It looked brand new and far superior to the old truck they had to sell to pay his father's debt.
He walked around the truck, inspecting it from front to back, then turned to Bucky and enveloped him in a grateful hug. “Thank you, bro,” he said earnestly.
Bucky returned the hug with a smile. “You're welcome, buddy.”
After Toby rushed back to the hospital to share the news with his grandfather, Y/N approached Bucky. “That was really nice of you,” she remarked.
Bucky nodded, a sense of fulfillment washing over him. “I realized how important a car is for Toby. He needs it to drive his grandma and carry boxes of honey.”
With the means to help, Bucky felt compelled to use it.
Y/N smiled warmly. Witnessing Bucky's generosity and compassion, she couldn't help but admire him even more.
Bucky's generous gift quickly spread throughout the town, making him the hottest topic of discussion. Suddenly, he found himself at the center of attention, not for his wealth or status, but for his kindness and willingness to help others.
The children in the town looked up to him as a cool role model, inspired by his actions to make a positive difference in the community.
With Toby's grandmother gradually improving, and Toby himself working diligently to sell honey at markets and to local households, the spirit of gratitude and determination seemed to infuse the air.
Despite initially finding farming challenging, Bucky began feeling accepted and belonging in his new life.
Though he still encountered difficulties, he realized that the rewards of helping others and being part of a close-knit community far outweighed any hardships he faced.
Bucky hadn't opened his social media for a while since he was already busy with farming.
******
His story has also spread widely on social media. However, it wasn't Bucky who initiated it.
But who did? Of course, it was Kate. She inserted herself into Bucky's story as if she were a part of the effort to help him.
During her live session, she recounted the events with a touch of theatricality, emphasizing her own role in the act of kindness.
"And that's when Bucky and I sprang into action," she exclaimed dramatically, her eyes sparkling with manufactured emotion. "Together, we rushed Toby's grandmother to the hospital, our hearts filled with determination to make a difference!"
Her viewers were quick to shower her with praise, captivated by her portrayal of a compassionate and selfless individual.
"You're such an inspiration, Kate!"
"Wow, I had no idea you were so involved in charity work. You're amazing!"
"Thank you for using your platform to spread awareness and help those in need. You're truly making a difference!"
With each compliment, Kate's smile widened, basking in her audience's admiration as she skillfully crafted her image as a philanthropic icon.
She kept smiling as she scrolled through the comments until she noticed someone mentioning "What about Y/N?"
Kate's smile faltered, and she let out a sigh.
"What's wrong?" inquired one of her viewers.
Kate sighed again. "Well, we only know what people choose to show us on the outside, not what's really going on behind the scenes."
The viewers were intrigued. "Is this about Y/N?"
Kate hesitated, then replied cryptically, "I don't want to name names, but let's just say there's someone who's been quite influential in Bucky's life, and it's had some unfortunate consequences for my brother."
"Your brother, the celebrity chef Paul?" another viewer asked.
"He can't cook anymore because of a car accident, right?"
The comments continued to pour in, each one adding to the speculation. It was precisely what Kate wanted. She leaned back in her chair, a satisfied smirk playing at the corners of her lips as she watched her fans dissect the situation for her.
Glancing down at her ruined shoes, a reminder of her unexpected encounter with the mud earlier, Kate clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Never underestimate me," she murmured to herself, a hint of determination in her voice.
🏎️
Bucky, who had been feeling clueless, had just finished cleaning up the sheep's stable. He made his way back to his house to freshen up.
Archie, the puppy, had eagerly awaited his return, wagging his tail excitedly. "Woof."
"Hey, buddy, I missed you too," Bucky greeted, bending down to pet the eager pup.
Once inside, Bucky headed straight to the sink to wash his hands, feeling the grime of farm work clinging to his skin. As he scrubbed, he couldn't help but notice his phone incessantly buzzing with notifications.
"What's going on?" Bucky wondered aloud, setting down the soap to check his phone. He was met with a flood of messages and tags from various people. Among them was a tag that caught his attention: #Y/N and Paul.
Curious, he clicked on it, and his screen filled with photos of Y/N dressed in a chef's outfit, standing beside none other than Paul, the celebrity chef who also happened to be Kate's brother.
Bucky's heart sank as he read the accompanying captions and watched a reel detailing Paul's accident, along with rumors suggesting that it wasn't him driving the sports car, but rather a woman whose name was still unknown.
His thoughts racing, Bucky was startled when he heard a familiar voice behind him. "Here's the dinner."
He nearly jumped out of his skin, turning to find Y/N standing there, a concerned expression on her face as she looked at him. "What's wrong?" she asked, noticing his troubled demeanor.

Hello friend! Thoughts on creating your own PCP/PCW holidays? Could use some advice!
I've done this before actually, so I'm happy to share all that I can!
Basic step by step, which is probably obvious, but I'm gonna say it anyways!
Firstly, pick if it's gonna be for a certain entity or group of entities, or not. Then, pick the general theme of the event. Is this a harvest event, or is it a social event, or something else entirely?
Pick a day for it. Say you're going for a harvest holiday, based on specifically corn, so you'd pick a day in August or October if you live in the USA which is when corn is ready in that region. You can also pick a fluctuating date, such as "This holiday is celebrated when my corn is ready to be harvested" instead of specifically August 24th or whatever day.
Then you gotta pick what you're actually doing that day. Is your harvest holiday including a feast with that meal? Are you making offering to the Gods? What'cha doing?
Some possibilities for PCP/PCW holidays:
new years day
spell ritual days
planting/harvest days
summoning days for Gods or other spirits
revering the dead day
solstice/equinox celebrations
season change days
feast days
sacrifice rituals
prayer day for some end goal (ex. for a good year)
silly goofy haha day
social holiday
offering days
and more!
I also want to note that adding your own rituals/celebrations onto already existing holidays is valid! For example, I celebrate New Life Festival from Elder Scrolls, which is on January 01st, and thus overlaps with New Years.
The main thing is to make a day you want to actually celebrate. Make the ritual and/or celebration fun. You're making a new tradition for you, so go nuts and make it something you want to celebrate.
Don't worry about others being into it as well, because solo celebrated holidays are still valid!
Let me provide an example of a created holiday that hasn't actually passed for me yet: I have decided to honor Yevon and the Aeons on July 19, which was the day FFX released in Japan. This is a deity/guide honoring holiday, where I make offerings to Yevon and the Aeons.
I might, however, also make a social holiday on, say, April 1st to honor Clavicus Vile and Sheogorath by being an absolute fuckin' menace upon society.
I could also make a day for the longest night, Dec 21 this year, the Winter solstice, for Moonlight Cookie, and spend the night awake as much as I can be and perform some form of ritual that I'd have to make up to do so.
The opportunities are truly endless, and what matters really is just earnestness.
I feel like this answer is a bit chaotic, so feel free to return to my inbox if you have more questions lol, thanks for dropping by!
