Diamon Fire by Ilona Andrews
<b>2.5 stars</b>
the prologue >>>
<b><u>things I liked:</u></b>
× the prologue of Nevada meeting Connor's mom for the first time (I was ready to throw hands when we didn't get to see it at the end of book 3, so this made up for that) - that alone would be an easy 4*, its just the rest of it that dragged this down
× seeing a lil more of Connor and the rest of House Baylor, my beloveds
× meeting poison girl - Rune? - who I'm pretty sure is gonna have a thing with Burn (hell yeah)
× getting to see Rogan's extended fam, even if most of them were terrible and I totally understand why he likes to avoid a large chunk of them
× Rogan & Nevada's wedding (even if we only got crumbs)
× wrapping up the Kelly situation - it was v quickly done and not at all the way I had hoped to see it play out, but at least we got some resolution, which I was v much missing at the end of wildfire
honestly, all of the above would have me considering a 3 or 4* rating, but sadly there's more, so
<b><u>things I did not like:</u></b>
× Catalina 💀
× nah but fr, i was not a fan of her POV at all, soz
× some of her thoughts / descriptions of Nevada really didn't sit right with me (particularly when she was thinking about how Nevada kept firing the wedding planners and then the whole boque issue, let the girl have some blue flowers if that's what she wants god damn) - idk they just rubbed me the wrong way & she came off p disrespectful to me at times & i so not condone the Nevada slander✋
× (i've seen ppl say Rogan & Nevada get some p unfortunate character assassination in catalina's books, and reading this i can believe it💀)
× (also been considering soldiering thru the catalina trilogy in large for the Rogan&Nevada crumbs, but I just read a review that said they went for the R&N crumbs too, but there was barely any..)
× I get that she's only 18 and having insecurities is tots legit an all, i.. just.. really didn't vibe with her thoughts & issues and it all came off as v bottom ya - no thx
× tbf I love House Baylor and would've loved to read about p much everyone in that fam, except for Catalina, she was OK as a side character, but I didn't really care for her, gimme Arabella, Burn, Leon, hell I'd even be down for meemaw Frida (badass that she is) and Penelope's stories, that fam is full of awesome characters and instead we get saddled with wet noodle Catalina😭🤧
× don't even get me started on her powers💀 she now apparently has wings and sings... cool cool cool <s>not</s>🙄, but nooo that's not enough, turns out she can basically do the same thing as Nevada & their "evil" meemaw, but in a nice, non intrusive, humane way, where they don't feel violated, in fact!! they won't even remember, if she doesn't want them to!! <b>meet the new & improved Nevada 2.0</b> it now comes with a bunch of insecurities too!! - hard pass
× i saw someone describe C+A as the angsty ya version of Rogan & Nevada (but worse, sm worse lmao) and if this book is any indication, I'm inclined to believe its true
i wish this was written in Nevada's POV and more focused on Rogan & Nevada (its their damn wedding after all), but I get why I.A. would use this as an opportunity to segway into Catalina's trilogy - it makes sense, doesn't mean I have to like it🤷🏻♀️
at least we got some resolutions I was missing at the end of Wildfire & it was worth the read for that prologue and the crumbs of Rogan, Nevada and the rest of House Baylor
(I really love Rogan&Nevada, and I really wanna see more of them, there's also a lot of side characters I'd be interested in seeing more of, but if that means having to suffer thru 3 more books of Catalina's POV + some of the other stuff I read about.. I think I might be better off cherishing the memories of the first 3 books, at least for the time being, and if we actually get around to Arabella's trilogy I might have to reconsider..)
(audiobook
first 44% on 2x, the rest on 2.8x
I think that speaks for itself)
(the narrators were good)
(PS.: was doing audio - obvi - so idk how the guys name was written and I don't claim to know how it was supposed to be pronounced, but they are Spanish, right, so whenever i heard CHavier I kept thinking wtfff isn't it supposed to be Javier pronounced as Havier? or is it some secret other name I wasn't aware of🤔 honestly CHavier sounded so bad I'm having a hard time believing they weren't just mispronouncing Javier💀)

well i know i owe you guys a huge apology if i promised you so many things that you think i've been absent due to the simple fact of disinterest or lack of ideas, when in fact it's the opposite, the list of requests and pending comics are always at the order of the day plus the duties of school, home and business, don't worry I have everything under control, what was promised is everyone's debt, but only if you can have a little patience to think of new projects apart from the torture I suffer as an artist because of the damn artistic block that doesn't leave me alone. I emphasize that this image is from an AU that I am doing so it would be like I don't know 5 projects in total (all obviously fanfics) so I thank you very much for your support and that motivates me to continue working and improving, and yes, I recognize that my desire to show you my projects has exceeded what I expected kisses from mexico for all -Over and out. oh, the proyect possibly will be a lot of edits from the existing episodes of the series, you know what i am talking about

'Hidden Legacy: Nevada's Trilogy' series - Ilona Andrews
---
Burn For Me (#1)
Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile case. Nevada isn't sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.
Then she's kidnapped by Connor "Mad" Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run or surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.
Rogan's after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she's getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.
---
White Hot (#2)
---
Wildfire (#3)
The door behind me slammed shut. Fire flared in his eyes and burned through the darkness. It was more than lust. More than need. Nobody else ever looked at me like that. Anticipation gripped me.
He strode toward me, confident, unhurried, a dragon in his domain.
“Am I trapped?”
“You walked into my lair.” He circled me, stalking.
The first drop of his magic fell on the back of my neck, hot and soft like velvet. Breath caught in my throat.
“I gave you a chance to escape.”
The magic slid over my spine, setting every nerve aflame.
“You didn’t take it.” He was behind me.
A quick feather-light touch brushed over my shoulders and dashed down my hips. I turned. He was standing a couple of feet away.
“Now you’re mine.”

Connor Caldwell Class Blog Post
I am going to address how content influencers are using AI and other Artificial intelligence platforms. One way designers and online artists are using AI is by utilizing its text-to-image ability. Some AI software that is available and free to the public is able to create beautiful and captivating images using only text. Another way creators on social media are using AI to help their content is to come up with different concepts, dialogue, scripts, and storylines for videos. This allows them to be more creative and efficient when it comes to brainstorming. Both of these methods that are described can be seen as unoriginal or controversial. However in my opinion I feel that if you don't adapt you will fall behind, and with the efficiency AI presents you will be left behind fast.
Another area in which AI is being used by influencers to benefit their platform is education. AI, depending on which version you are using has very accurate and eclectic knowledge on very basic and also very complex topics. For example, I personally have used AI to code my own website before. Not in the sense of asking it to do it, and spitting out a website. More so in the sense that I already had basic background knowledge of HTML and coding. So I used this to combine my knowledge with AI and fill in the missing gaps, to result in a complete webpage. This same method is used by educational influencers to help their community and followers realize the extent of their knowledge doesn't end at what they learned but in fact how they can seek that knowledge and also manipulate it. This is for the better of society in my opinion, as prior people's knowledge went only so far as they can remember. Now your knowledge goes as far as you can think and seek because the AI does the remembering for you. All one has to do is to know how to properly ask/ seek out that information.
Lastly, the final area in which influencers are using AI nowadays to benefit their content and online platforms is farming content and clips. Influencers are using the fact that AI has a vast database of their appearance and mannerisms, to create content and clips without them actually being in it. For example, this is not to anyone's benefit, but there is a page out there that has utilized all public knowledge on joe rogan and all clips of him talking. To artificially create podcast clips and audio messages that sound almost identical to the actual man and his rhetoric. This is a detriment to society as now people can falsely defame humans by artificially creating a dialogue or agenda that was not put out by the original entity. I feel as if in the long run people will come up with a method of identifying if the voice and audio clips the real people and not fake.
These are just a few ways people in the present day(influencers) are using AI to help boost their online presence and businesses.

• What are the influences on them and what engages you in their work?
Each designer and creative have a wide variety of design styles and motifs in their work, some similar and some very unique.
The modern bold style of type, bright vibrant colours, and simple design used in many of these creatives work, is what really intrigues and influences me.
The use of collage, pattern, texture and animation used in many of their works/ websites inspires me to incorporate more of these techniques in my own work.
Particularly within the NZ Designers and companies, it is really interesting to look over their design work and the companies they work with, that I have seen or purchased products from myself. I am now able to put a name to the designs behind products that I have really liked. (eg. Curious Studio has designed for companies Bockingford sketch pads, Me Today vitamins, and Kapiti ice cream - all products I have purchased and always been drawn in and captivated through not only their product, but the packaging/ design).
• In what (if any) ways are they collaborative and engaging communities?
Particularly the local NZ designers and design organisations may collaborate in many ways whether it be working together on a project by combining their styles to create unique product designs, or simply gaining inspiration from one another work, helping each other to gain new perspectives and ideas in design.
• What impacts, concepts, thematics, and organising principles are at play in the creative practice?
Creative businesses have a positive knockoff effect on the places around them, where new ideas spread to other sectors/ designers, improving their ability to absorb innovation.
Creative practices produce the means for collaborative relationships.
They can be the means to start a creative business - commission design work, and work with clients of other businesses to create product/website media designs.
Collaborating with organisations/ people in different industries to share skills and knowledge, and merge together their qualifications/ specialities to create something new.
New and emerging design styles are becoming common throughout different designers work (eg, colours, font types, website/advertisements using animation, shapes, symbols, etc). Similar styles and ideas among these factors are being shared among companies, where they recognise what is currently trending in the design industry, and follow this to appeal to their audience in the changing times. Although this could limit diversity in design, designers ensure that their work is their own, and unique in its own way, to create points of difference.
Designers are following trends, but incorporating unique techniques, styles and ideas to add something new and different, consequently providing a wider range of design diversity throughout these trends.

“To design is to plan and to organize, to order, to relate, and to control. In short, it embraces all means of opposing disorders and accidents. Therefore, it signifies a human need and qualifies man’s thinking and doing.” — Josef Albers
“Design is the method of putting form and content together. Design, just as art, has multiple definitions; there is no single definition. Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that’s why it is so complicated.” — Paul Rand.

Week 1: Designers
A great resource I had to bookmark in my tumblr. These are alive and relevant designers or studios that the class mentioned during the class. This will be a very relevant resource for this project because of the modern and relevant sources that we need to represent ourselves and design in todays age.

read in 2022 📖 Hidden Legacy series (Nevada Baylor’s trilogy) by Ilona Andrews
“So, are we still on tonight? For our dinner?” I asked. “Hell, yes. We’re on for tonight. We’re on for tomorrow. We’re on for the foreseeable future. You’re not going anywhere without me.” And here I thought he was being romantic. “Would you like to wrap me in bubble wrap?” “If I can find the bulletproof kind.”
