CPN : Why the Camera 📸 is driving us mad 🫶🏼

sometimes i forget that not everyone will get the reason why a certain number of cpfs are screaming about something. or if they do, is it because of only the present candy or is there a history behind it. this is something i find hard to gauge and i usually just post very quickly in hopes that people get it. most of the time i have a post about that “history” and link it but for this one i did share some bits but not enough to connect the dots.

that’s the purpose of this post, to hopefully connect events and make sense of the story.

Let’s start with the whole “LEICA” story and why we think it’s a gift to match ZZ’s. Back in April, there was a whole CPN about an alleged camera that was good for vlogging given by WYB to ZZ to take to Milan. It’s a Sony camera, but the point is, WYB gave ZZ a camera to take to his trip abroad in Europe. Now it’s ZZ who is allegedly giving him a camera ( Leica ) to take with him to Paris. Both are big events related to Fashion week and while they cannot be together, giving each other a proper camera is a way to to be connected. It’s an incentive for them to take photos and share with each other after. Apparently, taking photos from their iphones or their team’s camera ( take note, WYB was with someone holding a proper camera with a big ass lens too ) is not enough. They should have their own.

The reason why this made us all 👀 was we were already speculating that WYB had a new camera back in Mid Autumn Festival.

This is personally why I was screaming cause the clowning is correct. Even before we saw WYB in the streets of Paris using the actual Leica camera, turtles were already guessing he didn’t take the Moon photo with a camera phone. Based on the quality, dimensions and size of the file. All the more how accurate the kind of camera is.

Also Yibo-official added fuel to this because instead of reposting and giving the same greeting like they usually do, they praised Photographer WYB. 📸

This was out of the ordinary, it’s like they know something. Turns out, they do. WYB has a new camera that he is playing with ^^

ZZ has a leica camera. This should not come as a surprise knowing part of his job before is being a photographer.

( for reference some of XZ’s known camera/s. the ones used in commercials tho, not sure if it’s his. )

ZZ is Leica Q2 ( spotted as early as 2019 ) and WYB is Leica M11. It’s so freakin expensive. WYB is many things but he is not exactly a photographer. Yes, he takes photos for his personal documentation and shares it to friends. Sometimes, he shares to the public, but I don’t think an amateur will buy something like this. He may be rich and the cost of this is virtually nothing to him, but I personally feel like if you’re starting out, you wouldn’t choose this. All the more buy it as “i-need-a-camera-cause-i’m-going-to-paris” purchase.

The CPN is, ZZ, who knows his way with cameras/photography and only wants what’s best for the love of his life —- gives him this, and what better time to play with it than a trip abroad. The Moon photo is him testing it out, and maybe he already has other photos that he just doesn’t share.

This is actually on brand for this couple. Matching Gucci lion head necklace? Check. Matching Shoes? Check. Matching clothes? Check. Matching phone case? Check. Matching Apple watch? Check. So this Couple Camera is part of a pattern and makes sense 🤍

Idk abt k pop ruining western pop if that’s what you’re saying? I think Korean pop cultures influence has been overall a net positive for quality control in multiple media spaces…but as far as the Illuminati thing …I too miss it. I think now that we’re so post metoo, post diddy/Epstein and so …socially aware…we no longer need the Illuminati as a metaphor. Everyone just looks like corporate drones 😭at least to me like the veil was lifted along time ago. The future of pop culture is Stan Twitter where fans have this fantasy football “brand” attachment and half make fun of their faves in the process. The Taylor swift bubble burst and Beyoncé is always under scrutiny for being spineless. I think it’s healthy people give it a rest because I think people really just want “good” pop culture now and aren’t afraid of asking for it or being seen as fans of pop culture. A shift has to happen….but I think the time pre metoo, pre cynicism was definitely aligned w the Obama era optimism and the Illuminati just was a way of people articulating this idea that everything isn’t as good as it seems…that doesn’t really work anymore because people totally view pop stars as like…athletes/auteurs. Celebrities in general are just assessed on a far less mystical basis then they historically have been. Unrelated but I think lots of people who aren’t famous today but have big digital footprints will be regarded as these big celebs in the future..the distance of time and people becoming memories will feel a lot more myth making that can’t really happen today where everything is so recorded in real time. And a lot of these posthumously celebrated influencers will be regarded for their aesthetic values that are only really well translated on social media and not in real space…there will be an overlap w art history and ….I do think the progression of social media culture and output ….will overshadow a lot of what’s formally declared as art on here. Documenting social media for cultural significance might never happen in a way that is adopted into library/archive systems so I think museums will be truly lost. There’s talented digital researchers today but idk…I go back and forth on whether or not this will be a digital dark age or not.

New contest furby info/confirmation

So I recently got a poster/advert for the “design your own furby contest” and made some scans, aswell as translating all the info! This advert serves as a mini time capsule and contains all the information for the contest! I’ve updated the wiki but will put the gist here.

Entries for Contest were from 11/9/1999 until 7/7/2000.

After that, 2000 first prize winners were selected and received an unspecified “Electronic Furby Toy” and from those 2000 first prize winners 12 were randomly selected to appear on the furby website for voting from 8/1/2000 to 9/1/2000

After voting for the Grand Prize, the winner (Brittany) won a trip to the furby design studio. The trip consisted of 4 round-trip coach class tickets to Chicago, 4-days/3 nights in a hotel room; car rental for four days and $1000 spending money and of course a tour of Furby Design Studio with their furby design being produced (The rainbow furby)

The Rainbow Furby is the only Furby that is known to have been produced, excluding the Contest commercial furby.

But ye! It’s good imo to have concrete evidence for furby contests, as most info floating around currently is a bad game telephone! Like for instance, no one knew about the 2000 people who got a furby! Like, quite literally 2000 furbys were distributed and no one knew.

I’ll be on the lookout for any kid cusine/hic furby documents I can nab to also hopefully get some whole answers for their stories!

The written synopsis must be submitted in Thai. The synopsis should be submitted according to the following format: 1.1 Page 1 - Must include the writer's relevant information: Legal First and Last Name, Age, Address, Telephone and/or Mobile Number, E-mail, Line ID or other social channels for contact - Title - Genre - A brief description of the story's original inspiration (if any) 1.2 Pages 2-4 - A 3-page synopsis, size A4, to be submitted as a WORD or PDF document named according to the following format (1 submission per one 1 applicant limit): Title_First-LastName (please use your legal First and Last name, do not use a pen name)

Each applicant can submit up to 2 synopses, not restricted to the same genre, according to the specified format. Applicants can only submit once, with no more than 2 synopses included in their submission. Once the document has been successfully submitted into the system, information can no longer be edited or changed. In the event that an applicant has submitted duplicate (or more than one) documents, only the first submission will be considered and accepted.

Applicants must be Thai citizens. There are no age restrictions.

Submissions must not purposefully replicate any previous publications, broadcasts, or depictions in media. This includes works that have been previously submitted in other contests, whether in written form, online, or through other various channels.

The Company can use it's rights as it deems appropriate, not limited to reproduction, adaptation, and novel and/or poetry publication: The property can be produced as a drama (series) and/or film to be distributed to the general public through any partnered media company; The Company can collect any benefits relating to the copyright of the property, including sales, payments, and transfers for authorized lending of the property to others; Benefits can be collected from any commercial or non-commercial use of the property; And/or the Company can make any international distribution decisions throughout the span of it's property's copyright protection and/or the rights of the property according to the law. GENERAL STUFF

I've gotten a few asks about this, and while it's covered on the official site, I wanted to lay things out here so that people who haven't checked out our beautiful hub (check it out! I like to think it's quite pretty!) know it in no uncertain terms

RI47 HEAVY INDUSTRIES fully supports all fanworks within the extent permitted to us by international copyright law, which we unfortunately must obey. would that I could tell you to break that, but I can't, so I shan't.

you can make zines, comics, fanfiction, games, songs, whatever you want. you have blanket permission to produce crafts, physical and digital, as long as you don't attempt to impersonate RI47, pass it off as official, or otherwise operate in a for-profit capacity. we ask that, in cases where you do want to sell something, you run it by us first (and send us a copy!)

TRANSLATION STUFF

because VesalBlood Project is the work of a small team (presently consisting of two permanent members and a few contributors), it's not currently viable for us to work on releasing anything in multiple languages. not gonna attach any sob stories here, but every member of the team is below poverty line and works on the project as a labour of love.

English speakers, as it stands, make up the majority of the audience. this means that releasing in English is the most viable way to make sure that VesalBlood is available to as many people as possible with a budget of zero. I regret that it's this way, but officially translating an unfinished work is unfortunately just not in the cards.

all that aside, while you have permission to translate and distribute things related to VesalBlood to your heart's content, we do have an official book of translation documents that has been maintained for the entirety of the project's existence. while these documents aren't publicly available due to containing spoilers for future projects, we would be happy to share relevant sections with anyone who would like to translate VesalBlood for a wider audience

if we haven't released something in your language, whether or not it's commercial, we'll look the other way if you happen to be offering it somewhere that it's otherwise unavailable.

while we have general translation notes for most localisation efforts, mainly detailing connotations of certain terms and which ones should remain untranslated, there are slightly more specific translation notes available for French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Polish, Portugese, Russian, and Spanish efforts. these notes mainly contain information specific to speech patterns and the characters used in names, but contain a few "official" translations for trickier setting terms that don't exist outside of VesalBlood

all that being said, I don't personally recommend translating Diesem Fernen Traum yet, unless you specifically want to translate the beta version of a work-in-progress

translation is the greatest show of love that I, personally, think can be given to a work. sharing something with others even when it's not easy is a deeply beautiful thing, and I'm eternally thankful to everyone who's ever set out to do it

A month before qsmp start, the Twitter account Quackity Studios upload a picture

The picture have a message and some codes, the message is in Spanish and English, the translation is:

The codes lead to a document on Google that updated its content almost all the time, whenever you opened the document it had a different message, the messages were always in English or Spanish

But some of then are really strange and reminds me of some participants, one of them talks about a muffins purchase, another talks about a show and asks the person to attend their next event

@/M0THERDUCKR in Twitter mention about the clock in the background of the photo (which was posted on QSMP accounts to show the event) and is a clock that are similar to pocket watches, these watches were started wearing in the early 16th century, and by coincidence we have a message that speaks of the 16th century

Villainous Observations/Theory: Flug's Flight Education, Pilot Licences, and How He Might Have Met GoldHeart

How Flug Might Have Met GoldHeart

The youngest age to get a Private Pilot License is 17 years old and for a Commercial Pilot License, it’s 18 years old (as highlighted in red below)

In Flug’s Research Book and Dem’s Diary (see link below), Flug met GoldHeart in his “juventud” which translates to youth in English.

According to Wiki it’s mentioned the age range of youth is estimated around and between 14-21 years old or 15-24 years old. (+/-)

So, given this time period it is possible that Flug has met GoldHeart during the time he was taking his Pilot Licences as well as studying in Black Hat Academy.

Around the age of 17 years old.

There is also a high possibility that Flug might have met Miss Heed before he met GoldHeart (or perhaps around the same time, if he forged his age to get his licence, earlier) as it was shown that she was 17 years old when she got her powers to evaporate liquids before becoming a Hero. What does Flug’s Pilot Licence has to do with Meeting GoldHeart ?

Flug’s must have gotten his Licences in a Legal Institute, if it was revoked according to his P.E.A.C.E. files.

My theory is that Flug obtained his licence at a P.E.A.C.E. Institute, because I feel that if P.E.A.C.E. has a Space Division and can produce a Space Military Hero like Airlock,

It is highly possible that they have a Flight School where they are able to teach people how to fly planes and get pilot licences…

How GoldHeart Comes In

Another thing that is possible is that in Villainous, if a school for Villains like Black Hat Academy exists,

It is also mentioned in this article that there is a sidekick mentorship programme that teaches sidekicks to be the next benefactor of heroes and G-Lo also mentioned that she was a heroine in training in a comic, so there is a high possibility that P.E.A.C.E. also has a school of heroes which train the next generation of heroes.

Maybe heroes start out as sidekicks like G-Lo and have to do a mentorship programme to prove themselves to become heroes. Or it could be that if heroes do not do well in that school, they end up graduating as sidekicks and alternatively have to prove themselves in order to become heroes.

So, GoldHeart would be in a school in order to train himself to become a Hero after he got his powers.

Conclusion on How Flug and GoldHeart Met (Theory and Headcanon)

Flug wants to get his Private and Commercial Pilot licence at P.E.A.C.E. Academy School of Heroes (this is a headcanon placeholder name), which was part of their co-curriculum, while at the same time studying at Black Hat Academy. Being a genius, he was able to balance both at the same time while also taking his bachelor degrees at Diablo University.

The reason why Flug took wants to get his licenses at the hero school was that the flight curriculum there at P.E.A.C.E. was well known for being one of the best. Additionally, being surrounded by heroes will help him gather inside information about the heroes and also enable him to steal classified documents (as mentioned in Flug’s files, this is one of the crimes in his record) from the school which will help him in his career as a Villain after after he graduates.

So, it was like killing two birds with one stone…

So, afterwards he notifies Black Hat Academy of his plan, after they agree to the arrangement and help him with his school schedule, he forges his documents and fake identity in order to be accepted as a part-time student in the P.E.A.C.E. Academy School of Heroes where GoldHeart was also learning to be a Hero and control his powers.

Flug and GoldHeart probably cross paths there, my guess is that despite GoldHeart being a hero and GoldHeart suspecting something off and suspicious about Flug’s enrolment in the school, they end up becoming good friends.

It was then that Flug might have some second thoughts about Heroes, that maybe “not all heroes are as bad as he thought”, if they were like GoldHeart, which lead to him revealing the truth about his identity as a Villain to GoldHeart.

…Then, something happened between them that caused them to have a feud that has evolved into hatred.

I think it’s the combination of Flug seeing GoldHeart’s true colours and his “friend with a heart of gold” wasn’t who he thought he was and Flug not wanting to reform and become a real hero, much to GoldHeart’s frustration.

Then Flug had a big dramatic reveal at the Hero School that he was actually a Villain, the day he finally got his Commercial Pilot Licence. Then, he probably stole a plane there, got into a fight with GoldHeart, and destroyed some property in the school while trying to escape. As a result, he got both his private and commercial licences revoked on the same day and he was charged with all the crimes in his record. (Man that would be hilarious 😂)

And the rest was history…

V.A.S.A

I also noticed that Flug's shirt says V.A.S.A. instead of N.A.S.A.

N.A.S.A. stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. So, my theory is that V.A.S.A. stands for:

Villains Aeronautics and Space Administration

(Or maybe the “V” stands for Villainous)

N.A.S.A., in addition to being a space program, does build and develop advanced aircraft and planes and have pilots fly their advanced aircrafts.

So, I headcanon that V.A.S.A. is a space program for Villains, that also specializes in aircraft development and technology and also have programs that enable evil students to fly spaceships and advance aircrafts.

So, continuing the theory, after Flug got his Private and Commercial Licence revoked, Flug decided to continue to study and train at V.A.S.A. in order to further develop his passion for planes and learn to fly advanced aircrafts. And, possibly get his Flight Instructor Certificate and Airline Transport Pilot Licence. (highlighted in red below)

Although Flug’s private and commercial licences, as mentioned above, we’re revoked legally, V.A.S.A. being an evil space and flight school probably didn’t care about that and allowed Flug to pursue his further flight education in their facility. In fact, they were probably impressed by Flug’s infiltration to the Hero school, which contributed to him being accepted to V.A.S.A.

Considering Flug kept a couple of shirts and a bomber jacket with the V.A.S.A. logo there, he probably enjoyed his time at V.A.S.A. and proud that he was able to go to the evil facility to further advance his passion of planes and flying.

Been thinking about a Modern!Babel AU centered around colleges aimed around Silicon Valley

Immigrant kids being funneled into CS because it’s the field where the money is (linguistics? Where’s the money in that? You want to starve?).

International students coming to America because all the Big Programming Languages and their documentation are in English, because translations of documentation is to err and to betray, because English is the programming lingua franca, because if you don’t know English then you’ll be “trailing edge.” Source

And of course, the students from countries on the Indian subcontinent are acutely aware of the unbalanced nature of the work they do, the way they’re expected to do export IT work, despite the digital divide in India, Bengal, Pakistan, etc. Especially since it’s a sign of being well-educated (wealthy) to speak English fluently thanks to the history of British Imperialism on the subcontinent.

Chinese IT students sink or swim thanks Mandarin monolinguism making it difficult to learn English. Americans programmers struggle not to link choppy English with choppy code, even while being monolingual themselves!

But can’t they tell that progress is inevitable? That this is the future and to try to stop it is foolish?

QSMP messy lore summary - Day 65

As a reminder I write these for a friend and drop them on here with little to no editing. May contain mistakes, personal opinons, or be out of order. Enter at your own risk and all that.

The start of the day was pretty calm! Foolish logged on to learn that Bad had set up the scavenger hunt for the pritzas he had wanted (he says pritza. I don't know what else to tell you. It's a pizza) and waited for Leo to be up to start. The two had a lot of fun doing it even if it was pretty easy and overall it was just adorable. 10/10 Foolish Leo moments.

   Tazercraft duo logs on to see that Quackity took Richarlyson and while there was notes left for Cellbit and Forever there wasn't for them. They often feel like the forgotten dads of the Brazilians even tho they love Richarlyson and it's :(((

Lore can't wait forever tho, and Forever logs on (lmao) to hear about it too. He interprets such as Quackity kidnapping Richarlyson and plans on working to get him back. He sees Cellbit is in the federation base under the wall thanks to the map and goes to stalk him once he's out. 

Cellbit wakes up in the same Federation hospital that Max did after getting attacked by the code, noting that the federation saved his life. As they leave, he insists he wants to join the federation and Cucurucho indulges this. He asks Cellbit to gather information on some of the new members that Cucurucho did on day 1. Cellbit agrees, not knowing that Forever is spying on them. Also the federation is building something in the wall apparently! 

 Cellbit gathers everyone in the Favela to apologize for being in a silly funky mood yesterday, sorry but he's fine he swears! He just thinks they shouldn't leave the island and maybe they should help the federation! No one, not even the French, are buying his shit. He tries to subtly ask some of the French the questions Cucurucho gave him and Etoiles is just NOT having it lmao. He presses Cellbit who lies and says he has a book with information on everyone on the island. Etoiles also has like 10 jobs apparently. (detective, soccer player, half of the French daft punk, adventurer, akdbsknd god he's funny) 

Forever and Cellbit have a conversation that is badly translated AGAIN but Cellbit doubles down on taking Richarlyson from Forever and says the Order means nothing to him and the federation is right. 

 I have to leave around here so things are fuzzy but! Cellbit talks to Roier who has been through a bad betrayal on the island and agrees to stay by Cellbit's side no matter what. My ship keeps winning. Cellbit ends his stream by letting notes from his document scroll through on stream, revealing that THIS IS A PLAN!! It's not going how he originally planned it, but the commercial and the lying (which did hurt a bit? I think?) gave him a good excuse to 'betray' the others. The Richarlyson court case gives him a chance to publically reveal anything he learns in front of the whole server, and if they hurt him, he gets to be a martyr for the Order. He believes that revealing it to stream this way stops the Federation from learning about it (he believes that maybe the Federation can watch streams) and it seems to have worked! The update accounts, who canonically are part of the QSMP census bureau, have made no comment on his plan :) 

 Forever meets up with Baghera and Bad individually. Baghera doesn't trust Cellbit and stands by Forever's side 100% (my FAVORITE siblings on this server I stg) and Bad seems conflicted, still wanting to believe this is a plan, but stands by Forever 100% as well. When Richarlyson's "kidnapping' is brought up, Bad explains he saw them last night and kept an eye on where they went so could possibly get them close. 

Bad and Forever do manage to find Richarlyson, who explains he's not kidnapped and wants to be here. However, Quackity is cringefail as usual and didn't even make a good safehouse for Richarlyson. Forever tries to convince him to at least stay with the Tazercraft duo and Richarlyson talks to Pac and Mike offstream. It's thought that he's staying with them :) 

Finally, Bad and Dapper show off their sick new base that they're making from a huge old dungeon that they found. I'm convinced this man doesn't sleep. (Unironically Dapper seemed worried bc Bad was up basically until Dapper woke up after leaving the night before. These two...)

Japanese culture lives against western culture

Hi, it's Benjamin Espinoza, and I came to write about a little curiosity regarding the commercial opening of Japan. When Japan first opened its borders, the country was compelled to participate in an already advanced economic competition. Western technology and products were far more advanced than what Japan had to offer. So Japan had to struggle against the advanced countries and had to adopt some of the technologies and techniques in response to this global challenge; this was the first stage of Western influence in Japan.

Some of the adopted techniques included the use of cameras to replicate products such as animated films, with Mickey Mouse serving as a major influence and example.

One curiosity about this process is that, despite the strong influence of Mickey Mouse and all the American references and history that come with its comics, the Japanese, instead of translating that type of comic, used the technology to record their own culture and history. This is evident in the first Japanese animation, "Namakura Gatana" or "Dull Blade," where they adopted a comical sense similar to Mickey Mouse animations but set it in the context of Japanese culture, reminding the audience of the samurai's existence.

This is no surprise; another example was the arrival of the camera in Japan. Its introduction was a great opportunity for the Japanese to document and preserve their history and innovate in forms of art that were more common in Japan, like shadow plays.

What I wanted to say is that despite all the Western influence that was making its way into Japanese culture, there were many opportunities for Japan to improve and innovate in various aspects of Japanese art.

This journal page prominently features an individual identified as the party chaplain, described in text as well meaning but high strung and easily startled- note the overcoat vest ancesteral to many modern Duhr outfits, though they would not take off until almost thirty years after first imporation. Also on the page are depictions of one of the earliest commercial models of Driftboat style aerobarges, of which few intact models remain [1], old growth tinderbox algae stands [2] alongside the period popular landscape greatmoss WormWhisper. Also of note is an extinct heritage breed, one of many scribbled throught this journal. The journal's actual lexical content is of particularly special note, predominantly being written in an pre-ascendency orthography which most modern inhabitants of the Temple States would have difficulty parsing, given that shining branch script was both far more angular and did not closely follow spoken phonetic conventions. Furthermore, this journal contains rare examples of External Kait vernacular speech transliterated into shining branch. Early Modern Duhrspeak is also gratuitously incorporated, and while nouns are usually correct, the small sections of text written in Duhrspeak contain numerous grammatical and spelling errors consistent with an inexperienced L2 learner.

This unique historical document will be up for auction pending full translation in our main auction house, Ward 33, Duhr proper in twelve days. We look forward to your enthusiastic arrival!
