Yeah, it's called professionalism. And it really sucks when you need to be civil to someone who is actively hating on you, but you have to eat. If you're lucky your management team will have your back and will kick the hater to the curb and ban them from your business.

And in non-work settings, sometimes I need to interact with family members I don't like, and I can still be civil. I'll limit my contact with them and make my interactions as brief as possible, but for everyone else's sake (including mine) sometimes the best choice is civility. Sometimes it's not, and if you have good judgement, you'll know when to deploy the appropriate "fuck you" instead of "thanks".
