So Fisch flew in late Friday night.. I swooped him up from the airport, and we raced back to the house to load gear. I had just got the wife a new Rubicon, and it was woodsy Jenga getting her loaded. Feeling good with the Yetis iced down we hit the interstate west driving all night for Cokeville, WY. Population a few.. sheep a plenty. Now I’m not going to hotspot any particular creeks we fished… if you recognize a spot.. keep it to yourself I kindly request. Our native species have existed in these creeks for eons, and If we all do our part they’ll be there for many more to come. If you want intel and are interested in the how, what, where, and why.. look to the Wyoming Game & Fish website for general locations and get out your maps and follow the blue lines. So we got into Cokeville about nine am, and the vets driving separate were scheduled to rendezvous at 1pm. We took the morning to scout the water I had fished for my slam previously, and good thing because it didn’t look healthy. Few fish were seen.. mostly whities at that. We bounced over to a nearby stream and hiked the beaver ponds back in. There were berries o plenty back in there and the bear prints and scat to match. There were however fish holding in the little pools and downed timber tangles littering the stream. It was bush whacking and bow and arrow casting up that canyon, but we found success. All anglers in the party had their Bonneville Cutthroats by dusk of night 1. We were feeling good at camp that night… chicken gyros and it was lights out. #bonnevillecutthroattrout #cutthroattrout #cuttslam #flyfishing #tellicooutfitters #tailfinn #finnprovisions #wyoming #catchandrelease (at Wyoming) https://www.instagram.com/p/CUWFFDqDO4Y/?utm_medium=tumblr

Marbled Godwit (Limosa fedoa), Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge, WY, USA
A large shorebird that stops on its way north at both Seedskadee and Cokeville Meadows NWRs. It was actively probing the mud and pulled a number of large aquatic earthworms from the bottom of the wetland as I watched. After spending a few days resting and feeding, it will push on, headed for the prairies and wetlands of Northern Montana and central Canada. Photo/text: Tom Koerner/USFWS

Browns Park, CO to Idaho Falls, ID to Tucson, AZ - Plans Change
We left Browns Park on Tuesday, May 29th. We spent Tuesday night camped next to the City Park in Cokeville, WY. We were right next to the train tracks, but it was a nice spot under the huge trees in the park and it was free! The next day we made our way into Idaho Falls, ID and parked in the WalMart parking lot for the evening. We walked over to the Snake River and visited a couple of the local breweries:
Our flight at Idaho Brewing Company - the stout was our favorite, the atmosphere wasn’t what we were looking for. Worth a stop - they have a beautiful outdoor patio to enjoy your brew on (if the weather is sunny enough).
We loved the stout at Snow Eagle Brewing and the atmosphere - one of our favorite spots to hit on our travels to Montana.
Thursday morning we packed up and backed the truck up to hook up the 5th wheel and the “Check Engine” light came on in the truck. That put an abrupt stop to our travels. Doug found a local NAPA repair shop and took the truck over to them - they hooked the truck up to their computer and the light cleared, Doug and the mechanics (wasn’t that a music group in the 80s?, oh no, that was Mike and the Mechanics, sorry....) could not get the light to come back on. They were ready to send us back out on the road, but Doug persisted and, eventually, they were able to get the light to come back on. They loaned us a car and kept the truck to check out what was going on. Later that day, while we were enjoying some French Open tennis and a few brews at Snow Eagle, we got a call from the repair shop - not good news. The truck needed a new engine and they quoted us a price of $15,000 to fix it. We told them we needed to think about that and would call them in the morning with our decision. Long story short, we opted to not repair the truck - it is only worth $13,000 - and had them put it back together and we went and picked it up. We decided that we would drive the truck and the 5th wheel back to Tucson, park the 5th wheel permanently in Tucson at our spot in Tucson Meadows. It was time for us to move on to Plan B - we are going to buy a smaller truck and a small pop-up camper for our summer travels. They gave us 50/50 odds of making it back to Tucson without a problem - we left Idaho Falls with our toes and fingers crossed.
The truck made it to Mesquite, NV the first night without any problems. We spent the night in the WalMart parking lot in Mesquite, it was definitely warm, but we were happy to have made it that far. We were hoping to make it to Tucson the following day. The temperatures were in the 100s when we made our way through Phoenix and the truck was running rough at low speeds. We stopped for fuel in Casa Grande and when we started the truck back up the “Check Engine” light came on and the truck was shaking and running very poorly. We continued on our way to Tucson, hoping that we didn’t break down and get stuck on the highway with the temperature hovering around 109. We were so very relieved to reach Tucson Meadows and park our rig for the final time!
