You know, I've started a new playthrough of Pokémon Sword and with the benefit of hindsight, (and the fact that BDSP and Scarlet and Violet replaced it as the most hated Pokémon games) I can't fucking believe that THIS game was the one that irreversibly fractured the Pokémon Fandom.
Like, THIS GAME? Really???? Seriously?
THIS is the game I got sent death threats over???
THIS was the game that made someone on Reddit deliberately target people who were looking forward to the game and DM them a list of every major spoiler with the message "This game doesn't deserve to be enjoyed"?
THIS is the game that got the creator of Serebii harassed because he decided to take a neutral/non biased stance when reporting game news?
THIS is the game that got some public Pokémon event cancelled due to security issues?
THIS is the game that spawned the #HangMasuda tag on Twitter?????
THIS is the game that had the head of the Dexit movement compared themselves to the Beijing protests going on at the time? The people fighting for their rights compared to people complaining about videogame creatures?
THIS is the game that spawned a fucking WHITE HOUSE PETITION to get the fucking PRESIDENT to ban the sales of Sword and Shield?
All for the game who's only crime is being slightly mediocre? (And even that's super subjective)
I mean, I don't think Dexit is even a problem anymore because all those Pokémon got slowly added back to the Switch via the Sinnoh games and Scarlet/Violet and the small handful that are left are probably going to be in Legends Z-A.
Honestly, it's wild at how feral the Pokémon fandom was in 2019. I was there. I was there, Gandalf.

Honestly,
I only started liking Jane Austen after listening to audiobooks. I think it's because the humour becomes more apparent when somebody can parse out the tone for you . If you didn't like Jane Austen, because you were too confused then a good audiobook can help with that.
librivox has free audiobooks of most classics which is pretty convenient. Karen Savage has good ones.

ya girl has covid (most likely)
#I saw most likely because I took an expired test and it was negative#but my mom has Covid and I was around her and got sick right after her#I’m fine#I only really feel bad when I start running fever which has been happening on and off since yesterday#I just take an Advil and a nap and wake up all sweaty#I’m just spending my time off reading PGSM in front of a space heater and exiting on tea and honey#it’s been four days and today is the only day I felt congested#but my throat has been scratchy since the day after Christmas#and it’s straight up raw today#honestly minus the fever sinus infections are worse than this#my mom has it a lot worse and has like fatigue and everything#I’m just not going get actually diagnosed because I’m 99% sure it’s Covid and I don’t really feel bad#so I’ll just quarantine like it’s Covid unless it ends up lasting much longer then I’ll go get it checked

It's not even a mild cold for the coworker (and definitely isn't for me)! And he came! Everyone knows I have a bad immune system and my wife is in the hospital 3 times a week!
He also. Can work from home. He does so 3 times a week anyway.
I can't be around my wife for a week or so! My brother is coming to town and I can't be around him! My wife needs taken care of; she can't care for me!
I know I had the choice to just never stop wearing a mask but everyone gets vaccinated for covid and flu because (because I pressure them into it), so with just a little consideration this could have been avoided.
