Tumblr Challenge #4,622
Just...don't interact with a post that involves a paradigm you don't believe in.
Yes, it's really that easy.

Can the Dragon Symbol Enhance Your Journey to Personal Growth?
The Dragon Symbol holds a powerful role in inspiring personal growth. Rooted in ancient cultures, it’s known for representing qualities like strength, wisdom, and resilience. When used as a focus for personal development, the Dragon Symbol can help channel inner strength and foster a deeper connection with one’s potential.
In Chinese culture, the dragon is revered as a creature of dignity and prosperity. It encourages those who resonate with it to seek their highest aspirations with courage. This symbol reminds us to stay determined even in challenging times, pushing us to learn from obstacles rather than shy away from them.
Spiritually, the Dragon Symbol encourages wisdom. Dragons are seen as guardians of knowledge, guiding those who look to expand their minds. By connecting with this symbol, you may find yourself drawn to learning more about the world and, ultimately, about yourself. It’s a powerful reminder that growth is a continuous journey of understanding.
Many people incorporate the Dragon Symbol in their lives as a reminder to stay balanced. Whether worn as jewelry, displayed as art, or used in meditation, it serves as a grounding presence. The symbol encourages a harmonious balance between strength and wisdom, making it an ideal guide for personal growth. With its empowering qualities, the Dragon Symbol can indeed support a fulfilling journey toward self-discovery and improvement.

I'm starting to see the sanitization of chinese new year here in the west, where this beautifully rich cultural practice gets stripped of all meaning and churned through the capitalist holiday machine and appropriated by white people.
it's the same thing that happened to pride to make it palatable for corporations, heavily commercialized, and appropriated by straight people. like no!! that's not who pride is for!!! you're stripping away everything that makes pride, pride and pushing out the people who made it what it is.
I'm remembering this one time my homeroom teacher made all the chinese kids stand up and had the other students say 'gong hei fat choy' to us because "that's what chinese people say to each other!" like we were circus animals. i don't even speak cantonese.
and this year when my building manager (white lady) sent out a 'happy year of the dragon' email with a very sterilized message that avoided mentioning anything specific to cny or to other lny celebrations. it was also addressed to everyone, instead of to those who actually observe the holiday, as if this wasn't a specific cultural practice.
I'm just angry and scared that something so precious to me is being taken away by the very people who made me feel ashamed to be chinese growing up. i kinda liked it better when y'all didn't pretend to care thanks.

The first blog series post of 2024 for……
Red Flag Symbols for Christians #4
I came across a video post on early festivities for a global celebration that’ll be happening next month. It’s this exact festival that be featured in this series’ post. The Chinese Lunar New Year, it is based on the Chinese calendar which incorporates the 12 zodiac animals signs that circulate orderly over every new year. This year is the dragon’s turn! To be born during the year of the dragon is believed to bring the greatest luck and prosperity to one’s life. It’s the most coveted zodiac animal sign out of all the others.

The official day for this year’s Lunar New Year is on February 10, 2024. This global celebration is limited to just a day or two, the festivities lasts for weeks. Even the video example, that posted above shows a drone light display of an Asian dragon with its pearl-shaped egg. In Chinese art depicting a dragon holding a pear-like orb in its claw/talons or inside mouth; it’s a female dragon. No pearl egg with dragon, most likely a male dragon.
Below are illustrations of all 12 Chinese zodiac animals. So basically how this works is to match your birth year under one of the 12 animal signs. It is almost exactly similar to astrology zodiac signs and etc. Honestly, the bare bones of it all is fortune telling. God’s Word, the Holy Bible, warns His people multiple times to NOT seek out the aid of those who claim to see into the future or speak to the dead. The practical reason to this applies to this day as much as then; that we allow ourselves to be fooled that humanity alone has the ability to control our own paths towards prosperity and happy lives. All in all, we think we are god.

If you feel curious or compelled to learn what zodiac animal your birth year is under, I’d like to say this to with a caring heart….. do not take anything tided to zodiac signs; both Chinese or Greek (astrology) to heart. In other words, these symbols attempt to dictate your personality and character as a person. Our human nature, unconsciously, ties these zodiac signs as part of our personal identities. We believe the personality traits connected to a zodiac sign are what make who we are. This maybe an extreme example to some, but there are those who may not be tempted to do this. I have no doubt, but the rapid growth of products being printed and sold in stores on astrology, horoscopes, tarot cards and etc. I’ve personal seen it sold everywhere! I mean everywhere!!! Don’t get me started on all the free information and resources that’s available online. It’s outrageously easy to get sucked up into this stuff. I’ve personally been there! I know how easy and innocent it all appears in today’s American society. I just want to remind you, my dear brothers and sisters, your identity needs to be solely defined in Jesus Christ. As Children of God and Followers of Christ we’re called to be Not of this World; as adopted citizens of God’s Kingdom of Heaven.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do pray this new year will bless you with prosperity and good health, but it will be through your faith in Yeshua; God our Father and in His Son, Jesus Christ. God Bless You as you continue to grow and mature in your spiritual walk with Christ! AMEN
