Chapter 1 - The Night We (almost)Owned
22 January, 2020
Luke leaned against the cold concrete wall, the thumping bass from the stage reverberating through his body and his chest still heaving from the encounter he just had. Even though he's outside he can feel the wall slightly thumping from the bass inside.
"Thank you sweetheart. You just blessed me with some good luck before my show." He says showing off his perfect pearly whites as he is getting ready to leave this scene.
The groupie, her eyes still glazed with desire, sidled up to him, a coy smile playing on her lips. "Leaving so soon, Luke?" she purred, trailing a finger down the front of his shirt.
Luke flashed her a charming grin, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Yeah, duty calls. Can't keep the fans waiting."
The groupie pouted, her lower lip jutting out in a playful pout. "But I thought we were having fun, Luke. Don't you want to stay and play a little longer?"
"I'm good sweetheart. This is kinda my thing, I don't do well on the whole commitment thing" He says shooting her a wink.
"Yeah, yeah, you always say that," she said smugly. "But then you also always come back around. That's some kind of commitment isn't it."
The sound of her smugness slightly annoyed him. He didn't like her thinking she had some sort of power over him. She could never. That was reserved for one person only. The one person that had Luke's heart in a chokehold. Luke felt a sharp pang in his chest thinking about the last time he saw her.
_________
20 January, 2020
The moon cast a soft glow through Julie's bedroom window as Luke slipped through the shadows, his heart pounding with a mixture of anxiety and relief. He had been here countless times before, seeking refuge from the storm that raged within his own home. As he reached Julie's window, he tapped lightly on the glass, the sound barely audible over the distant hum of the city. Julie's face appeared in the window, her expression calm and understanding. She didn't even need to ask what he was doing here; it was routine for them. Without a word, she swung the window open, allowing Luke to slip into the room.
He didn't waste any time in crossing the room and collapsing onto Julie's bed, the weight of the world heavy on his shoulders. Julie followed, closing the window behind her before sitting down beside him. There was a familiarity in their movements, a silent understanding that had been forged through countless nights like this one.
"Rough night?" Julie asked softly, her voice a gentle reassurance in the darkness.
Luke nodded, his gaze fixed on the ceiling as he struggled to put his feelings into words. "I just...I don't know what to do anymore, Jules. It's like no matter what I do, it's never good enough for them. They just don't understand why music means so much to me. It's the only thing I'm actually good at."
Luke gets up to make his way to Julie's dresser to retrieve his sleepwear. He opened the bottom drawer and rummaged around for a moment before finding his shorts neatly folded at the back.
"You know, Luke, you don't have to keep pretending like everything's okay with your parents. It's okay to admit that you're struggling."
Luke paused mid-motion, his gaze meeting Julie's in the dim light of the room. There was a vulnerability in her eyes that made his heart ache, a tenderness that he couldn't help but be drawn to.
"I know, Jules," he said quietly, his voice tinged with a hint of sadness. "But it's easier to just pretend like everything's fine, you know? It's easier than facing the truth." Julie nodded in understanding.
With practiced ease, Luke peeled off his shirt, revealing the smooth lines of his toned physique. Julie's eyes flicked over to him, her gaze lingering on his bare chest for just a moment longer than necessary. She quickly averted her eyes, cheeks flushing with a faint pink hue, even though she was definitely already familiar with the sight. This was routine for them, after all.
Luke caught the subtle shift in her demeanor and couldn't help but smirk, a playful glint dancing in his eyes. "Like what you see, Jules?" he teased, his voice laced with amusement.
Julie's cheeks flushed an even deeper shade of pink as she hastily returned her attention to her book, hoping to hide her embarrassment. "Shut up, Luke," she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper.
Luke chuckled softly as he pulled on his shorts, the fabric hanging loosely around his hips. "You know you love it," he teased, unable to resist the opportunity to tease her further.
"And you know you love being the little spoon" Julie fires back while sticking her tongue out.
Luke chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he settled onto the bed beside Julie. "You know it," he replied, flashing her a playful grin.
Julie rolled her eyes, but a fond smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
Luke scooted closer to her, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her into his embrace. "Come on, Jules, you know you love being the big spoon," he teased, nuzzling into her neck.
Julie laughed, her heart swelling with warmth at the familiar banter between them. "Only because you hog all the blankets," she retorted, leaning back into his embrace.
They settled onto the bed together, Julie's warmth enveloping him like a cocoon as they snuggled close, seeking solace in each other's presence. It was a familiar ritual, one they had shared countless times before.
They lay there together in comfortable silence, the soft rhythm of their breathing filling the room. In moments like these, surrounded by the warmth of each other's presence, they felt like nothing could touch them

As the memory of their intimate moment faded into the recesses of Luke's mind, he blinked back to the present. With a forced chuckle, Luke gently extricated himself from the groupie's grasp and headed toward the venue, leaving her behind with nothing but a lingering memory of their brief encounter.
"I'll see you around Patterson" Is all he heard before he entered the venue. He pushed open the door, the thumping bass sending a jolt of electricity through his veins. The stage was their sanctuary, their domain where they reigned supreme. The neon lights of the venue flickered and danced in the night as Luke made his way through the entrance. The familiar buzz of excitement pulsed through the air, mingling with the distant hum of the crowd inside.
As he made it backstage Reggie and Alex looked up from where they were tuning their instruments, their expressions a mixture of relief and concern.
"Luke, where the hell have you been?"
Reggie's voice carried a hint of exasperation as he eyed his bandmate. Luke flashed them a winning grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Oh, you know, just tying up some loose ends. Nothing to worry about." Alex raised an eyebrow, skepticism evident in his tone.
"Tying up loose ends? Is that what you call it now?"
Luke chuckled, his laughter ringing out in the dimly lit corridor. "Hey, a man's gotta have his goodluck charm, right?"
Reggie shook his head, a smirk playing on his lips. Alex rolled his eyes "I hardly think your disgusting alley way hookup is gonna be the reason we kill this show."
Luke waved off their concerns with a dismissive gesture. "Relax, guys. I'm here, aren't I? And besides, I always deliver when it counts."
______________________________
As Luke stepped into the spotlight, the roar of the crowd washed over him like a tidal wave. With a smirk, he launched into the first chords, his fingers dancing across the strings with practiced ease.
This was where he belonged, in the heart of the chaos, where the music flowed like a river of fire. And as he sang, the lyrics pouring from his lips like molten gold, Luke felt alive in a way he never had before.
Luke shredded through the final chorus of their latest hit, the crowd erupting into cheers, their voices blending with the pounding rhythm of the drums. Sweat dripped from his brow as he grinned, adrenaline coursing through his veins like wildfire. This was the high he lived for-the raw energy of a live performance, the intoxicating rush of being on stage.
With a flourish, Luke tossed his guitar pick into the crowd, a gesture that sent the audience into a frenzy. He soaked in their adulation, reveling in the momentary fame that came with being the frontman of a rock band.
But as the lights dimmed and the band made their way off stage, Luke's thoughts turned to the real reason he was here-the music. It was his passion, his obsession, the one thing that consumed his every waking moment. Everything else-the parties, the girls, the fleeting fame-was just a distraction, a temporary fix to numb the ache in his soul.
As the band members made their way backstage, their adrenaline still coursing through their veins, they exchanged excited chatter and high-fives.
"That was insane!" Luke exclaimed, his eyes shining with exhilaration. " The energy in the room was off the chains tonight!"
Reggie grinned, his usual playful demeanor in full swing. "Yeah, especially when you whipped out that guitar solo, Luke! You had them eating out of the palm of your hand!"
Alex rolled his eyes, his sarcasm dripping like venom. "Oh yeah, because we all know how much Luke loves being the center of attention."
Luke chuckled, unfazed by Alex's barb. "Hey, someone's gotta be the face of the band, right?"
Alex shook his head, a smirk playing on his lips. "Yeah, yeah, keep telling yourself that, Patterson."
Beneath the banter, there was an unspoken bond that tied them together-a bond forged through countless late-night jam sessions and the shared dream of making it big. Luke couldn't help but feel a pang of gratitude for the bandmates who had become like family to him. They may not always see eye to eye, but when it came down to it, they had each other's backs no matter what.

The boys gathered in the garage studio, the familiar scent of stale beer hanging heavy in the air. Reggie and Alex sat on the worn-out couch, their guitars resting against their knees, while Luke paced back and forth, his mind still buzzing from the adrenaline of the show.
"Man, that was crazy!" Reggie exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement. "Did you see the way the crowd went wild when you threw them your pick?"
Luke flashed him a grin, his chest swelling with pride. "Yeah, they were eating it up, weren't they? It's like they couldn't get enough of us."
Alex nodded in agreement, a smirk playing on his lips. "Yeah, it's like we're unstoppable or something. We're gonna be selling out stadiums before you know it."
However amidst the excitement of the successful show, there was a noticeable absence-the absence of Julie, who was usually a fixture at their gigs. Reggie and Alex exchanged a knowing glance, silently communicating their concern.
"Hey, where's Julie?" Alex asked, his voice laced with curiosity. "She's usually always here to support us. I don't think I've ever seen her miss a show."
Luke's smile faltered slightly, a flicker of unease crossing his features. "Oh, she had some stuff to take care of tonight. Nothing important."
Reggie raised an eyebrow, skepticism evident in his tone. "Really? 'Cause it seems kinda strange for her to miss out on a show like this. You sure everything's okay?"
Luke shrugged, attempting to brush off their concern. "Yeah, everything's fine. She's probably just busy with school or something. You know how it is."
But Reggie and Alex weren't convinced. They knew how close Luke and Julie were, how they were practically inseparable both on and off stage. Something didn't add up, and they weren't about to let it slide.
"Come on, Luke," Reggie pressed, his voice tinged with frustration. "You can't expect us to believe that. You and Julie are practically joined at the hip. What's really going on?"
Luke's jaw tensed, irritation bubbling beneath the surface. "Look, it's none of your business, okay? Julie probably had her reasons for not being here tonight, and that's all you need to know."
Reggie shook his head, a smirk playing on his lips. "When are you gonna drop the act like you don't like each other anyways? It's obvious to everyone that there's something more going on between you two."
Luke's annoyance flared into anger, his fists clenched at his sides. "I said it's none of your damn business, Reggie. So just drop it, okay?"
But Reggie and Alex weren't about to let it go. They knew that where there was smoke, there was fire, and they were determined to get to the bottom of whatever was going on between Luke and Julie, even if it meant prying it out of him one painful word at a time.

20 January, 2020
Luke and Julie lay tangled together on the bed. Their bodies molded perfectly against each other, fitting like pieces of a puzzle as they sought comfort in each other's arms.
Julie nestled her head against Luke's chest, her fingers tracing lazy circles on his skin as she listened to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. She felt a sense of peace wash over her, a feeling of contentment that only came when she was wrapped up in his embrace.
Luke sighed contentedly, his arms wrapped protectively around Julie as he held her close. He buried his face in her hair, breathing in the sweet scent of her shampoo as he pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head.
They lay there in silence, the only sound the soft rustle of their breathing as they basked in the warmth of each other's presence. It was a moment of pure bliss, a fleeting glimpse of happiness in a world filled with chaos and uncertainty.
Julie hesitated for a moment, her fingers tracing patterns on Luke's chest as she gathered her courage to speak. "Luke," she began, her voice soft but determined, "we need to talk."
Luke tensed at her words, a knot forming in the pit of his stomach as he braced himself for what was to come. He knew all too well what she wanted to discuss, but he wasn't sure he was ready to face it.
"About what?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper as he avoided her gaze, unable to meet her eyes.
Julie sighed, her expression tinged with frustration as she searched for the right words. "About us, Luke," she replied, her voice tinged with sadness. "About what's been going on between us."
Luke's heart clenched at her words, the fear and uncertainty rising like a tidal wave within him. He knew he couldn't keep avoiding the truth forever, but the thought of confronting his feelings for Julie filled him with a sense of overwhelming dread.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Jules," he muttered, his voice barely audible as he turned away from her, unable to face the truth that lingered between them.
Julie's eyes filled with tears as she reached out to him, her hand trembling as she brushed his cheek gently. "Luke, please," she pleaded, her voice cracking with emotion. "We can't keep pretending like this anymore. I know you feel it too." Luke's heart ached at her words, the weight of his own denial pressing down on him like a suffocating blanket. He wanted nothing more than to tell her the truth, to confess his love for her and lay bare his soul.
Julie took a deep breath, steeling herself for the conversation ahead. "I... I love being here with you, Luke. I love being able to be there for you, to comfort you when things get tough. And I always will," she said softly, her words tinged with emotion.
Luke's heart swelled with affection for her, his fingers gently stroking her hair as he listened intently.
"But," Julie continued, her voice trembling slightly, "if you can't commit to me, if you can't give me what I need... I need to put some distance between us."
Luke's heart sank at her words, the weight of them settling heavily on his chest. He knew deep down that he had been hurting her, that his inability to commit had been taking its toll on their relationship.
"I-I understand, Julie," he murmured, his voice thick with regret. "I-I never meant to hurt you. I just... I don't know if I can give you what you need."
Julie's eyes filled with tears as she looked up at him, her heart breaking with each word he spoke. "I know, Luke," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the sound of their breathing. "And I-I don't blame you. But... but I can't keep doing this anymore. It's killing me to see you with someone else every week and then have you come back to me like this."
Luke's heart clenched at her words, the realization of what he had been putting her through hitting him like a punch to the gut. He had always known that he was hurting her, but hearing her say it out loud made it all too real.
"I'm so sorry, Julie," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion as he held her close, his arms aching with the need to protect her from the pain he had caused. "I-I don't know what to do."
Julie shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks as she buried her face in his chest, seeking solace in his embrace. "I don't either, Luke," she admitted, her voice muffled against his skin. "But... but I can't keep pretending like this anymore. I need to do what's best for me, even if it hurts."
Luke listened to Julie's words, his heart heavy with the weight of her pain. He knew he had pushed her away time and time again, too afraid to confront his own feelings and too blinded by his own fears to see the hurt he was causing her. And with that, they held each other in silence, their hearts heavy with the weight of their unspoken words. Even though neither of them said it, they both knew this would be the last time finding comfort in eachothers arms like this.

22 January, 2020
Alex leaned forward, his expression serious as he met Luke's gaze. "We're just worried about you, man," he said quietly. "You've been acting kind of... off lately. And Julie's been MIA for the past couple of days. You two have a fight or something?"
Luke's jaw tensed, his fists clenching at his sides as he struggled to keep his emotions in check. He knew he couldn't tell them the truth, couldn't admit that Julie had walked away from him because he couldn't give her what she needed.
"We just... had some stuff to work out," he muttered, his voice tight with frustration. "It's nothing you guys need to worry about."
Reggie raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "Come on, Luke," he pressed, his tone gentle but insistent. "You know you can talk to us, right? We're your bandmates, but more than that, we're your brothers. We just want to help."
Luke's chest tightened at Reggie's words, the weight of his guilt pressing down on him like a lead weight. He knew he should tell them the truth, should confide in them about what had happened between him and Julie. But the fear of exposing his vulnerabilities, of admitting that he had failed her, held him back.
"I appreciate the concern, guys," he said finally, his voice strained with emotion. "But I think I just need some time to sort things out on my own."
Reggie and Alex exchanged a glance, their concern evident in their eyes. But they knew better than to push him further. They had always respected Luke's boundaries, had always been there for him when he needed them. And even though they couldn't fix whatever was going on between him and Julie, they could offer him their support, their friendship, and their unwavering loyalty.
As Luke turned away, his thoughts drifting back to the night he and Julie had shared that intimate moment, he couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. It had been two nights since he had seen her, two nights since they had laid their hearts bare and faced the truth of their feelings. And in that time, she had been avoiding him, avoiding the pain of their relationship that would never be.
He had tried to reach out to her, had called and texted her countless times, but she had ignored his attempts at reconciliation, leaving him to wallow in his own guilt and self-pity. Luke's reasoning for being afraid of commitment stems from a deep-seated fear of losing Julie, the one constant in his tumultuous life. Despite his love for her, Luke has always struggled with maintaining romantic relationships, preferring the freedom and unpredictability of his rockstar lifestyle. For Luke, music is everything-it's his passion, his purpose, his escape from the chaos of his troubled home life.
Julie, however, occupies a unique space in Luke's heart. She's not just another girl he's infatuated with; she's his rock, his anchor, his best friend since childhood. They've weathered countless storms together, supporting each other through the darkest of times. From Julie's grief over losing her mother to Luke's own struggles with family turmoil, they've leaned on each other for strength and solace.
Luke can't imagine his life without Julie by his side. She's been there for him through thick and thin, offering unwavering loyalty and unconditional love. The thought of risking their friendship by pursuing a romantic relationship terrifies him, especially considering his track record of failed romances. Despite his intense feelings for Julie, Luke fears that committing to her romantically would only lead to heartbreak and disappointment. He's seen firsthand how relationships can crumble under the weight of expectation and responsibility, and he's not willing to risk losing Julie's friendship for a fleeting chance at love.
In Luke's eyes, Julie is worth more than any fleeting romance. She's his soulmate, his confidante, his everything. And while he longs to be with her in every sense of the word, he's paralyzed by the fear of ruining what they already have. So he continues to push her away, keeping her at arm's length to protect both their hearts from potential pain. However now, as he stood in the garage studio surrounded by his bandmates, he couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness creeping in, a sense of emptiness that threatened to consume him whole.
But he couldn't let them see his pain, couldn't let them see the cracks in his facade. So he plastered on a fake smile, pushed down his emotions, and buried himself in the familiar rhythms of their music, hoping that one day, he would find a way to mend the broken pieces of his heart and make things right with the girl he loved.

[ Charlie Gillespie x GN!Reader ] [929 words]
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: If only you had realised your feelings sooner, then maybe it could've been you instead.
WARNINGS: angst, uh crying, unrequited love, sad reader?
A-N: Do people still even read charlie gillespie fics??? Idk, but I think I only have one or two fics left to edit, lol
[masterlist]
Tumblr media
You knew it was too late. You knew you should have tried sooner, but your inner thoughts and worries of whether or not Charlie would return the feelings you felt had kept you back. Why didn’t you confess?
You felt like your heart had internally shattered in your chest, and you couldn’t stop the tears from falling down the sides of your cheeks, after he had stormed into your shared home saying how he had met the love of his life. Telling himself that his current lover would be the one. Someone you could only ever dream of being.
It only began to hurt even further when it was a few months later, and the brown-haired boy was now announcing his engagement to the lucky person he liked to call his partner.
Maybe it was your own fault, allowing these feelings to bubble up inside you, refusing to acknowledge that they were even there until it was far too late. Because now as you stood out here, arms rested across the railing out the front of the venue, in a simple outfit with tear stained cheeks. You tried to suppress the sobs that threatened to exit your system.
Millions of ‘What If’s’ flew through your mind, trying to imagine tons of other scenarios which didn’t end in breaking your own heart. Did you even want to enter the building? Watch as what you believed was your unrequited crush. Stand at the end of the aisle inside. Waiting, your heart aching, as you listen to hear Charlie confess his vows towards another.
To watch another, walk down that aisle, one of the biggest smiles adorning their face as they were to be handed off and wedded to the boy soon after.
Yet, you knew you were also his best friend, and he was kind of expecting you to be there on his special day. To be happy for him as he entered the next chapter of his life, with someone that was not you.
You wanted to scream, you wanted to run away from your problems and never look back. You wanted what he had with them, but with you instead. You wanted to know why, why couldn't it be you.
They were everything you knew you couldn’t be. They were more attractive, at least you thought so. Of course, Charlie would choose them over you. You weren’t anything special at all. Why were you expecting everything to be alright or to go your way? It was your fault. You just had to fall in love with your best friend and roommate.
“Y/n? Are you coming inside?” The sudden voice knocked you out from your thoughts, your hands quickly wiping at the stray tears left over from your crying fest.
You plastered a smile across your face as you turned around to meet the worried look of Owen Joyner, another one of your best friends. One of the only other people who knew about your crush. “It’s starting soon…are you gonna be okay?”
You nodded, faintly hiding a sniffle that had slipped out. You didn’t want him to worry about you. You didn’t want anyone to. You didn’t want these feelings. You wanted everything to return back to how it was before, back to when you hadn’t developed feelings or fallen quite quickly for Charlie Gillespie.
You hated yourself for allowing yourself to become subject to what you felt was one of the worst heart breaks you’d ever experienced before. You supposed you had it coming. It was expected to be feeling like this.
You thought that friends to lovers only ever worked out in the media, and even if your feelings were to be required. You knew there was a high chance that it would only make your friendship awkward when you inevitably broke up, eventually.
“I'll ... .come in soon. Just go on ahead.” Voice cracking slightly, you watched as he allowed another shorter look of worry flash across his features.
He turned around then, taking a step and heading into the wedding venue himself, following after the other guests. You allowed a small sigh to slip out and turned back around to look out over the scenery before you.
You needed to mentally prepare yourself if you were to step inside that building and watch the wedding play out. Slowly, you took a deep breath and walked closer to the entrance.
Yet, as you were about to enter through the door to join the other guests. You stopped, hand carefully shaking when the tears suddenly began to form again. You can’t do this, you can’t go in, sit there with the other guests attending and pretend like everything is ok.
Pretend like everything is completely fine when it’s really not. You can’t bring yourself to watch as your best friend and crush gets married to another person, when all you can think of is how you want that to be you. How you want to be the one that is walking down that aisle and that you wished you had told him sooner.
I’m so sorry, Charlie. How am i meant to be happy for you, when all i want is to be in their position was the last thing you remember thinking, as you quickly spun on your heel and rushed  down the stairs that lead to the venue, and back towards your parked car.
Unaware of the certain pair of eyes that had spotted you leaving the scene with tear-filled eyes after having come to investigate. A confused, yet concerned expression appearing over his features.

I just thought about and listened to "Unsaid Emily" from Julie and the Phantoms, then I thought about Floyd in "I Have to Go Back". I imagined him singing this song to Veneer.
If Veneer is comatose, I can just imagine Floyd singing that song to him hoping Veneer can hear him.
Of course, the line "unsaid Emily" in the song would be replaced by "my dear son Veneer".
Once you mentioned this I went to listen to the song 🥺 As I listened to the lyrics, my heart just broke. The feeling of angst that that I got from listening to that song. It’s definitely something Floyd would sing to him. Floyd would always since to him, to both of them. They loved his voice, it was comforting. This is what I imagined as I was listening to it:
I Have To Go Back (Alternate Ending)
“Leave him. Let’s not give him the pleasure of being merciful.” The woman replied. One of the Bergens still held Velvet in his arms. She was kicking and screaming.
“LET ME GO! Let me go to him. Vennie!” She cried.
“Get her out. The Mistress would like a word with her.” At the snap of her fingers, they all walked out, leaving the severely beaten Veneer to die of his wounds. He began to drift in and out of consciousness, he could hear the faint sound of his sister yelling and screaming his name.
“VENNIE!” He heard her cry. But he couldn’t move. All he felt was loneliness and pain… he was tired, he didn’t want to feel this anymore.
Up above in the vents, two little Trolls watched everything happen. Floyd and Branch watched as the Bergens carried Velvet away.
“Bergens? In Rageous? Who was that woman too?” Branch asked. But Floyd wasn’t listening… his eyes were glued on Veneer and they state they had left him in. Floyd pushed open the vent and made his way down to the Rageon.
“Floyd! Wait!” Branch called and followed after him.
Once on the ground Floyd took off running next to Veneers side. He placed his small little hand on the Rageons cheek, “Ven?” He called out…but there was no response.
“Floyd! We should go before they come back.” Branch called out again.
Floyd could see Veneer still breathing slowly… he was still alive…somewhat.
“Ven? Can you hear me?” He called out again, but Veneer didn’t respond. His eyes were closed and bruised, open wounds on his face and arms. Floyd leaned his tiny head on the Rageons cheek. “This is my fault… I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Vennie.” Tears began falling down his face. All Branch could do was marvel at the sight. Why? Why did he care so much for him if he had tortured him? What else was to this story?
Moments of silence passed. Branch then heard a soft voice coming from his brother. He was talking… no, he began to sing to the unconscious Rageon…
“…I should have turned around….” Floyd began singing slowly and softly, taking breaths in between his sobs, “…But I had…Too much pride. No time for…goodbyes.”..
“Floyd?” Branch whispered as he got closer to his brother.
“….If I could take us back, If I could just do that…” Floyd continued. His voice growing louder in hopes Veneer could hear him, in hopes it would wake him up… bring him back. “And write in every empty space. The words ‘I Love You’ in replace…”
Branch placed a hand on his brothers shoulder. Looking at the Rageon, it hardly seemed like he was alive. Was he listening? Could he hear him? Floyd continued…
“If you could only know, I never let… you…go…my dear son, Veneer…” He broke down in tears at the last part. Floyd didn’t want to let him go, he wasn’t ready. There was so much to make up for, so much to do… The little Troll wanted to make him his family… him and his sister. But he let that get taken away from when Floyd almost walked out, when Floyd left them in the hands of that evil woman. He wrapped his tiny arms as far as they could go around Veneers face…. Moments of silence passed… but then it was broken…
“….Floyd…” A whisper came from Veneers mouth. Floyd perked his ears up, a sense of warmth spreading though his body. He hugged Veneer as tight as his little body could.
“I’m not leaving you….both of you. Ever again. I’m getting you out and taking you home.” Floyd promised.
Something clicked inside Branch as he saw everything happen. There was deeper, something more…
“I understand now.” He said to himself.

Song- Unsaid Emily from Julie and the Phantoms
Paring(s)- tom kazansky & child!reader, pete mitchell & kazansky! reader
Warning(s)- Mentions of a character dying, angst, gn!reader
Wordcount- 972
Summary- It's been fifteen years since the reader has last seen their father and fifteen years later, they see their father buried six feet under the ground.
*Fifteen Years Ago*
“Dad, really? You can’t be serious! You can’t do this to me.”
“I’m damn sure I can. You’re wasting a perfectly good opportunity.”
“What opportunity? Going to Stanford to become a lawyer and be depressed for the rest of my life?” I questioned my dad. “I got offered a better opportunity than Stanford.”
“So you’re just throwing away your college career to travel around the world and play music?” He asked.
“Yes!” I exclaimed. “Why aren’t you happy about me getting this deal?”
“Because you’re too young.” He looked at me.
“I’m eighteen years old,” I let out a laugh. “I already graduated high school. I’m taking this deal whether you like it or not.”
“Y/N, just listen to me!”
“No,” I grabbed my bag. “I’m not. See you.”
Walking out of the house, I heard my mother calling my name, wishing that I would come back. That was the last time I ever came back to that house.
*Present Day*
“Y/N, Dad passed.”
_______
As I pulled up to the cemetery, the sky had a purple/blue violet hue. Driving through it, there were barely any cars there. I could easily see where his plot was just from the flowers that were placed on his grave. Parking the car and turning it off, I let out a shaky breath and looked over at the plot.
“Come on Y/N, you can do this,” I motivated myself.
Getting out of the car, I started to feel my legs shake a little as I walked closer to the plot. Kneeling down in front of the headstone, I traced over the engraved words that were on there.
Tom “Iceman” Kazansky
1959-2019
Devoted husband, father, and naval aviator
Blinking, I felt the salty tears run down my cheeks as my emotions started to come out of me. All of the memories that I had with him entered my mind.
Why was I so stubborn? I could’ve listened to him. If I did, I would’ve had more time with him. I would’ve been by his side when he took his last breath.
But I didn’t.
I decided to be a stubborn young adult and not follow my father’s wishes. Despite where I got in my career by releasing two number one albums and winning many awards, they weren’t worth it. I would trade all of those to have him back. To have my father back.
“I’m so sorry,” I sobbed. “I should’ve listened to you. You’re so fucking disappointed in me.”
“He’s not.” I looked over my shoulder and saw his wingman in his dress blues. “He’s pretty damn proud of you.”
“Mav.” I got up and hugged him.
“Hey kiddo,” he hugged back. “How are you?”
That’s where I broke down more. Pulling me closer to his chest, I started to sob more into his chest.
“Why?” My voice croaked. “Why did he have to leave? Why did I leave?”
“Because you’re just like your father, stubborn as hell,” Mav let out a chuckle to lighten the mood.
“I should’ve just gone to Stanford and become a lawyer,” I waved my hands in the air. “That would’ve meant that I would’ve had more memories with him.”
“But you would’ve been miserable,” my father’s wingman told me. “You should just see his face when he sees you perform.”
“What?” I looked at him.
“Yeah, he’s been to all of your concerts ever since you released your first album,” he nodded his head. “He dragged Slider and I to them most of the time if we’re in the same area.”
“Would’ve been nice to know that earlier.”
“I know but he made Sli and I promise not to mention it to anyone, even your mom and siblings.”
“Wow, can’t believe that he was there at all of my concerts.” I let out a laugh while shaking my head in disbelief. “I left so many things behind that day. My old life. My family. So many things I want back. There are things I left unsaid.”
“And you can get them back,” Mav gave me a small smile.
“How?” I questioned.
“Let’s start with your mom and siblings,” he replied. “One step at a time.”
“Thanks Mav.” I hugged him.
“It’s no problem,” he hugged back. “If you ever want to talk, ask your mom for my number. It was nice seeing you again.”
“It was nice seeing you too.” I gave him a small smile. “Let’s grab a coffee or something if you're available.”
“I should be in a week or so.” He nodded his head. “I’ll let you go now.”
Thanking him one last time, I got into my car and I saw him getting on his motorcycle. Letting out a laugh and shaking my head as I saw him drive away, I put my car in drive and headed out of the cemetery. Following the direction Google maps has given me, I pulled up to the house that I’ve haven’t been to in fifteen years. Walking up to the door, I rang the doorbell and waited for it to open.
“Hi Mom,” I greeted my mom as she opened the door.
“Y/N!” She immediately wrapped me in a hug.
“I’m back,” I started to sob again.
“You’re back,” she wiped her tears as we let go of the hug. “Come in.”
Walking into the house, some things have changed. More pictures were added, some furniture was changed but yet, it still had the same vanilla cinnamon smell I grew up smelling.
“Y/N!” I saw my younger brother and sister run up to me.
“Wow, you’ve grown,” I gasped at the sight of them.
“You’re back!” They hugged me.
“I’m back. ” I told them and looked at my mom who had a smile on her face. "Forever."
“Welcome home.”

“That’s the fastest you can go, my mother can skate better than that!” Coach Johnson shouted at his team. Who were huffing and puffing deeply due to the amount of laps they had to do. You were never quite sure why you agreed to meet up with your best friend at the hockey rink across the other side of school. There was never much to look forward to…well that is if you counted the big sweaty jocks that wore padded gear and shoulder pads. Although you weren’t really all about that.
Alisa liked to gawk at them as they practiced their drills and skated across the ice. Correction: she liked to gawk and stare at her boyfriend. Alex McGee, a wholesome of six feet, brunette and the team’s best defense they had. You may not have liked to stare at the attractive specimens that walked the earth before your eyes, but you did have an appreciation for the sport. Hockey was no joke, the guys’ hard work always showed off during each game. Practice was a whole different story though.
Whereas Alice stared and drooled, you on the other hand. You liked to think that you were there for moral support. Yet you mostly just joined her to keep her company as you read your book that lay on your lap.
“Woo go Alex!” Alice cheered him on as he made a goal. The team was split up into two groups, one on defense and the other on offense. Alex was working on the offensive side. His coach wanted to see some improvement on his offense lineup, so his coach switched it up today.
You flinched at how loud she was being. You were hunched over on the bleachers freezing your butt off. Not to mention you were getting tired. Your head rested in the palm of your left hand as you read about areo-dynamics and quantum gravity.
-
“Showing off now cause your girl is here eh?” Charlie teased skating circles around Alex. “Does she know that you occasionally suck at practice?” He laughed.
“Oh fuck off, Gillespie.” Alex rolled his eyes and jerked his shoulder into Charlie's, knocking him slightly off balance.
“Oh come on you know I’m just messing with ya, eh?” Charlie caught up to him.
“Yeah, yeah, although you know…Y/n’s with Alisa today.” Alex smirked, nudging the smaller boy. Charlie immediately let his gaze fall to you. He could see you talking to Alisa through the clear screen that divided the ice from the bleachers. Then he looked away as if he wasn’t phased by you being here today.
“And?” He shrugged.
“And? Dude, come on.” Alex scoffed. “Don’t play dumb, you have a major crush on her.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m with Sage, remember.” Charlie brushed him off as he looked over to his on and off girlfriend, who sat alongside with her group of friends. He got into his position. His stick met the ice and his eyes grew determined. Alex in front of him copying his movements. The coach stood in the middle of them with a puck in his hands. He had said something but Charlie tuned him out.
“And how’s that working out for ya?” Alex countered back as he shoved his shoulder pad into Charlie, knocking the poor boy on his ass. Then stole the puck as soon as the coach blew the whistle. Whisking past Charlie to end up making a goal, again. Charlie groaned as he lay on the ice. “Not so great...” He muttered.
-
“Yeah! That was so good babe!” Alice exclaimed, hollering from her seat next to you. Alex smiled at her and pointed at her, letting her know that he scored for her.
You slowly lifted your head to look at her with raised eyebrows. Her smile didn’t die down. You had to laugh.
“You do know this is just practice right?” You giggled. You shook your head at your best friend who felt the need to go all out on a Friday nights practice.
“I know…” she shrugged. You raised an eyebrow at her. She turned her eyes to look at you.
“Shut up.” She pouted then laughed along with you.
“Hey I’m not judging…” You put your hands up to show her you meant well. “It’s sweet that you come to cheer him on during practice too.” You playfully nudged her.
“Almost as sweet as your crush on a certain someone.” She threw a smirk your way.
“What are you talking about?” You began avoiding the topic of the matter.
“You know what I’m talking about. Sexy five foot eight, Charlie. Every girl’s biggest crush at school, Charlie. Oh please oh please be my lab partner, Charlie!” She emphasized.
“Charlie? Captain of the hockey team, Charlie. The most likable and most popular guy at our school, Charlie.” When you got nervous you babbled a little…okay a lot.
“Yes!” She laughed.
“Yeah no, you’re crazy. Completely insane. I don’t have a crush on Charlie. What makes you think I like him? I don’t have uh...a crush on Charlie. Charlie doesn’t even know I exist. He doesn’t even know my name. Once I accidentally bumped into him in the hallways!” You pointed out. “I fell.” You nodded. “He didn’t really help me up, but he did acknowledge me.” You then made a face at the fact of how that sounded. “Oh wait…okay look whatever. He’s a jock, he’s popular, he’s cute…and I’m-” You took a deep breath in from talking too quickly.
“About to pass out!” Alisa looked at you with wide eyes as she handed you a water bottle to drink. You opened it hastily and took big sips. “One more mention of him and you’re sure to black out.” She teased. “Fan the girl!” Alisa grabbed a notebook and fanned you with it.
You swallowed the water down and put the cap back on. Your breath slowly calms down.
“When are you gonna get the guts to tell him?” She shook her head.
“Um…never.” You made a face. Alisa scoffed. “Lis come on, you know there’s no way on this earth that I’d even have a chance with him.” You nervously laugh. Alisa just sat there and gave you a knowing look. You avoided her gaze then looked out onto the ice where you saw his jersey number rush past his other teammates. “It’s not gonna happen. Besides he has a girlfriend, remember..” You muttered. You looked away from him then looked down at your book that was now closed. “I-I can’t talk to anyone. Let alone a guy.” Alisa sighed as she scooted closer to you. She wrapped her arm around you and let you lay your head on her shoulder.
“Well from what I’ve heard. Charlie’s thinking of breaking up with her, for good this time.” She shoved you to try and get you to lighten up. “And you can talk to guys…you’re just shy. Plus you get that cute little stutter when you get nervous. Not to mention how much of a clutz you are when you do talk to a cute boy. Oh not to mention the way you start going off about random facts about areo-dynamics of physics. It’s brilliant.” She laughed. “It’s all a work in progress baby!” She said sarcastically.
“Gee thanks Lis, I feel…so much better.” You lifted your head and squinted your eyes at her.
“That’s what I’m here for!” She smiled. “But hey, no seriously you’ll figure it out. You always do.” She pulled you into her side again and hugged you tightly.
“I don’t know about this Lis.” You played with your gloves. “It seems out of my capability.”
“Hey this is coming from the girl who created a physics project about figure skating, not to mention you figured out that there was an exact areo-dynamic formula. If you can do that, you can talk to a boy, and honestly, if Charlie can’t see how amazing you are. Then that’s his loss.” You slowly smiled at her words of encouragement. She always had the right thing to say. Whether it was in the form of sarcasm or straight up bluntness, or the whole truth, she made her point and she made you feel better.
“Lis you know the computer didn’t make the jumps for them, it was all-”
“-all them yeah, yeah I know. Still pretty impressive though…Oh, practice is over!” She beamed as she shot up from her seat. You turned to look out onto the rink and noticed that the team was gone. Probably back in the locker rooms changing out of their gear for the night.
“How long have we been talking?” You furrowed your brows as you reached for your book.
“Who cares! I’ll be right back okay. Don’t go anywhere.” Alisa stood up then walked.
“Where else would I go?” You questioned.
With that Alisa walked down the bleachers and made her way to the locker rooms to wait outside for Alex like she always did.
You sighed pulling your jacket closer to your body. You enjoyed being at the rink, but the cold was not your favorite. Yet the view was nice.
Heat rushed to your cheeks as you noticed Charlie talking to someone through the clear glass a few feet away from where you were sitting. You could barely make out their voices but you were able to tell that they had been arguing.
You looked down at your lap trying not to eavesdrop.
“Can I go?” Charlie tried moving past Sage, but was shoved back. She pushed him back by his shoulder.
“No, we need to talk about this.” Sage tried getting him to stop, but Charlie wasn’t having it.
“There’s nothing to talk about Sage.” Charlie laughed, shaking his head. “I don’t want to be with you anymore, what don’t you get about that?” He furrowed his brows. “I can’t keep doing this okay, it’s not…I can’t anymore Sage.” Charlie trailed off letting his arms fall to his sides. He looked worn out and tired. Sweat prominent on his face caused his dark brown hair to stick to his forehead. He looked off to the side trying to avoid Sage’s gaze and in the process of doing so he caught your gaze. As soon as she realized he was no longer staring at her. She turned around and noticed you staring at them.
“Ever heard of a privacy freak?” She replied nastily. You froze, eyes widening as she started talking to you. “Earth to dumbass, can you hear me?” You looked away from her as you started clumsily packing your book into your bag.
“Sorry. I uh. Sorry.” You grew so nervous and anxious, you ended up tripping over your feet as you rushed down the bleachers. Your shoe laces being untied causing you to hit the floor. Sage couldn’t help but laugh at you, catching the attention of her friends who sat not far from the three of you. You wanted nothing more than the floor to swallow you whole. You quickly got up feeling a sudden ache on your left leg. You hurriedly rushed past them and exited the ice rink.
“Y/n-” Charlie tried reaching out for you but you had run off so quickly, you didn’t hear him. His eyes fell to the floor where he saw your book. It must have fallen out when you fell. He picked it up then closed his eyes trying to control himself. He opened them back up and faced Sage who was smiling.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Charlie scowled. He turned around and started making his way to the locker rooms, no longer wanting to be in the presence of Sage.
“Charlie, we’re not done here.” Sage called after him, stepping down from the first step. ”I’m not done talking to you, we can fix this Charlie.”
“Yeah well I’m done talking to you Sage…It was nice knowing ya.” He nodded to her and turned around to continue walking.
“Fine then…” Sage crossed her arms. “It...It wasn’t working anyway!” Sage countered but Charlie was long gone by that point.
-
You didn’t know how long you had been waiting at the front steps of the school. Forty minutes closing in to almost an hour. Alisa was nowhere to be found and your leg was starting to hurt more than ever. Not to mention your jacket was doing little to almost nothing to provide you warmth.
Where are you, Lis?
You looked out into the parking lot. Only a few cars remained. You breathed out through your mouth causing a puff of air to come out. You sighed pulling out your phone, checking the time which now read ten fifty. You knew that she had her moments with Alex after his practices, but this time it felt like she wasn’t coming. You crossed your arms over your chest to try and get warm. It was too late to call your parents for a ride, and you knew walking would take forever, but you knew you had no other choice. You sighed again and picked up your shoulder bag. You flinched as you felt the pain shoot up your left leg. Some serious bruising was sure to be there by morning. You slowly stepped down the steps and started your trek home.
You found it to be a lot harder to walk, especially with the cold, but mostly due to the ache in your ankle. You were limping with each step you took forward. You didn’t know if you could actually make the walk home, but you knew that no one else was around so you chose to suffer.
“Hey Y/n, wait up!” You heard a voice call over your shoulder. You tensed up not thinking anyone would still be at school. You slowly turned around and felt your shoulders relax once you realized it had only been Charlie, which now made your heart rate pick up.
“Charlie?” You furrowed your brows as he jogged up to you. He was now clad in dark jeans, a light blue Henley with an orange flannel over it and his fur jean coat on top. No longer sporting the sweat he had during practice.
“Hey.” He gave you that perfect smile that made you all flustered and nervous. “Glad I caught you, Y/n.” He nervously laughed as he scratched the back of his neck.
“He knows my name.” You thought.
“Of course I know your name.” He chuckled.
“Did...Did I say that out loud?” Your eyes widened in fear.
“Afraid so.” He nodded.
“Oh…” That was all you could muster the courage to say.
Charlie on the other hand found your nervous state adorable, which caused him to smile again. “Anyway I just wanted to catch you and tell you that um…that I’m sorry about what Sage said.” He nervously smiled. “That wasn’t cool of her and it wasn’t funny. She shouldn’t have laughed at you.” He looked down then up at your eyes. He then reached around to open his backpack to get something out. “Also I-” He started but you cut him off.
“-Oh that! You...You don’t have to apologize Charlie, that wasn’t your fault it was my fault!” Charlie furrowed his brows in confusion at your words. “I’m such a clutz I don’t even know where…where my head is most of the time.” You started babbling again. “See I get nervous around people, mostly cute guys, but who doesn’t, amiright.” You laugh nervously. “You’re cute...a cute guy, and it doesn’t help my thought process at all! See Lisa thinks I have this problem talking to guys that I like, which I don’t think is true at all.” You quickly shook your head.
“You like-” Charlie smiled then was cut off again.
“-she also says I start babbling about areo-dynamics, but I don’t understand why she thinks I do that? Though I think she does have a point about me talking too much, once I start it’s kind of hard to shut me up. I-I could talk your ear off if you wanted me too, not that you’d probably want me to. I mean who wants to hear about areo-dynamics right? Although it is a very interesting topic to talk about.” Charlie just smiled and nodded as you kept talking. “Did you know that Physics actually plays a large role in both large and small aspects of figure skating. On a minimal level when a skater jumps into the air, it’s the force of gravity that pulls them back down onto the ice. Forces and energy are big components that factor into the success of a skaters routine and abilities. That’s why they’re able to do all these crazy tricks and turns. Half of the preparation for their jumps begins with gliding on the ice and picking up speed. Momentum...is always conserved, meaning that unless some outside force enters a system, its total momentum must stay constant, which means that the skater will continue to build and hold on to that speed they’re picking up while skating. I-It’s a form of kinetic energy, it’s used to propel the skater into the air so that they’re able to execute a flawless jump…it’s-” You got cut off by a pair of lips. Charlie had quickly cupped your face and kissed you roughly. You stood still then kissed him back. Your hands slowly land on his shoulders bringing him closer. Charlie’s hands now at your waist. When you pulled away you had to gasp for air slightly. Charlie took your breath away. You slowly opened your eyes and stared at him, your mouth agape.
“Did you just…you kissed me.” You muttered.
“Yeah I did.” He breathed out smiling.
“Charlie Gillespie just kissed me.” You couldn’t believe what just happened. “You just…you kissed me, kissed, we kissed.” You gulped. Heat quickly rushed to your face as you avoided his gaze. Charlie surely shut you up because you were rambling and talking too much. He must’ve thought you were a complete geek by now. “Was that your nice way of telling me to shut up?” Your eyes glowed with innocence in them. Charlie laughed a little at your question.
“Maybe I just really wanted to kiss you.” He shrugged and played coy. “Or maybe I did want to shut you up.” He teased you.
“Sorry.” You nervously chuckle.
“Don’t be sorry.” Charlie stepped closer and lifted your chin slightly to look at him. “It was cute.” He admitted. “But back to what I was trying to say.” He chuckled, teasing you causing you to smile. “I wanted to give this back to you.” He then pulled out your book and handed it over to you.
“My book?” You questioned.
“You dropped it by accident when you…you fell. I just wanted to make sure it got back to you.” Charlie pocketed his hands into his jeans slightly rocking on his heels.
“Thank you, Charlie.” You smiled gratefully at him. “I-I should probably get going now, it’s pretty late.” You gestured over your shoulder. You ended up stepping wrongly causing you to hiss out in pain. “Ow!” You grabbed your leg. Charlie rushed forward.
“You okay?”
“I’m fine, it's just my leg. I think I sprained it.” You scrunch your face in pain.
“Y/n you can barely stand on it.” Charlie frowned letting you lean on him for support. “Let me drive you home, okay.”
“No...” You held your hands out. “It’s okay Charlie I-”
“-You’re crazy if you think I’m letting you walk this late with a possibly sprained ankle.” Charlie shook his head. “Alisa would kill me.” He mumbled under his breath but you heard him.
“Why would she kill you?”
Charlie then stiffened up.
“Charlie?”
“Because...she asked if I could give you a ride home.” He looked down.
“She asked you?” You pulled away from him. Charlie grew hurt that you pulled away so quickly. “So she put you up this…did you really want to give me my book back, or?” You grew hurt at the thought that he might’ve only wanted to talk to you because of Alisa.
“Y/n it’s not like that okay. Alisa has nothing to do with this okay. I did want to talk to you. I do want to talk to you. I have for a while now.” Charlie nodded. He reached forward to grab a hold of your hands. “I wouldn’t do that to someone I like.”
“You like me?” You gaped at him.
“Was that kiss not obvious?” Charlie squinted his eyes and tilted his head. You ended up laughing.
“I don’t know...I think you were just trying to get me to stop talking, since you know, I do tend to talk way more than I shou-” Charlie chuckled, reaching forward to cup your face and kiss you again. You were more than happy to stop talking and let your lips mold together perfectly. You didn’t think someone’s lips could be so soft, feel so good, and taste so sweet. You smiled into the kiss as Charlie tugged you closer by the waist. You pulled back. “Okay I think I’m convinced now.” You nodded, feeling blissful and happy.
“You sure?” Charlie teased. “I can try and make it more obvious. I have other methods.” Charlie suggested. He smirked as he leaned forward to brush his lips against your ear causing a shiver to run up your back.
“Oh.” Your eyes widened. “Maybe I can just talk your ear off again.” You bit your lip. “I have enough knowledge to share that will last you a lifetime. Did you know that stars die every-”
“Nope shhh.” Charlie cut you off placing his lips on yours again.
“But I-” You began.
“No.” Charlie pecked you sweetly. “No.” He shook his head.
“Fine, but one day you’re gonna need to know about how stars die, and you’re gonna end up regretting not letting me tell you.”
Charlie pondered the idea for a second then brushed it off. “No, I don’t think I will.” He smiled. “Come on, let's get you home now.” He let you lean on him as you walked forward with your good leg.
“Oh!” You exclaimed half way to his jeep. “I know about hockey!”
“No, Y/n no!” Charlie protested.
“Did you know that the first organized hockey game played indoors, which just so happened to occur in eighteen seventy-five, in Montreal, Canada.” You smiled at Charlie who looked just about ready to let you walk home.
“Did not know that…”
“Also the first puck used during outdoor hockey in the eighteen hundreds was made of frozen cow dung. Way to go Charlie, that’s an innocent cow you’re hitting around.” You said sarcastically.
“Alright that’s it!” Charlie chuckled as he picked you up bridal style and carried you the rest of the way to his car.
“I kind of like this.” You approved as you patted his chest with your glove.
“I will drop you.” Charlie warned, eyeing you.
“Ooh I know, we can discuss ways to efficiently improve your speed while on the ice. I’m thinking…Longer skating strides which will widen your strides. For acceleration, nothing compares to short off-ice sprints, you could use the improvement, so can Alex…Let’s see, are you using the right equipment? Less equipment use will mean for you to be faster during practices. Your workouts should incorporate explosive movement of your body. It’s about building strength, not slowing down the process.” You squint your eyes trying to think about what else you knew. “Are you eating alright?” You looked up at Charlie who was staring at you with his mouth agape and disbelief.
“Did you just call me slow?” He gaped at you with furrowed brows.
“No...” You looked away.
“Uh huh.” Charlie rolled his eyes.
“Oh I know!”
“No!” Charlie finally got to his car and gently set you down. Just as you were about to speak again he pulled you into a rough slow kiss. This one lasting longer. “Shut up…” Charlie gasped for air before taking your lower lip and biting into it.
“I’ll shut up now...” You breathed out, closing your eyes, feeling dizzy.

One day. One day you will wake up and you won’t feel like this. One day you will wake up and not feel like a burden to everyone around you. One day you will wake up and not feel like staying in bed and crying all day. One day you will wake up and not have these thoughts of “no one will miss me if I just disappeared”.
That day is not today.
The minute you opened your eyes, you knew today was going to be a rough day. All these feelings just hit you like a truck from the minute you woke up. It’s just unfair that you haven’t even started your day and you already feel like this.
The worst part is that you have to deal with your roommate, and who you think is the devil reincarnated, Charlie. He’s not working today and you have to leave your room because you do have plans to go see your best friends, Savannah and Madison. Yes, you met them through Charlie but you’ve bonded with them and now they’re two of your closest friends.
You stare up at your ceiling until your alarm goes off. With a groan, you roll over and turn it off. You have texts from Sav and Madi in the group chat that you have with them. They’re asking when the three of you should meet up and where you should meet up. You decide to ignore those texts and take it on hour at a time.
First thing first, though. You need to deal with your roommate.
Honestly, you don’t remember how you ended up with Charlie as a roommate. All you know is one second you were living with your best friend from home and the next you were moving into Charlie’s apartment in Venice. In between is a little fuzzy.
You get up out of bed and put on a hoodie to cover up your tank top. You tie your messy hair in a bun before you wrap your arms around yourself and leave your room.
The smell of bacon hits you and you emerge from the hallway that leads to yours and Charlie’s bedroom. You spot Charlie in a sleeveless t-shirt and khaki shorts. His hair is down and in his face as he cooks on the stove.
Against your better judgement, you sit at the kitchen island and watch Charlie as he cooks breakfast. “I hope you’re not planning on eating what I’m cooking,” he says. “What I’m cooking is for me and for me only.”
With a sigh being your response, you don’t say anything. It’s too early and you’re in too bad of a mood to deal with Charlie’s snarkiness.
When you stay quiet, Charlie turns and looks at you. Surprise is written all over his face as he says, “What, no snarky remark? That’s very unlike you, Y/N. You always have something to say.”
“Not today, Charlie,” you say, rubbing your face. “I’m too tired to deal with you today.”
Charlie asks, “Stay up too late watching Sex Education or something?”
You mumble, “I don’t wanna talk about it.” Then you get up and walk back to your room. You accidentally slam your bedroom door shut and you wince at the loud noise.
It felt good to slam something though. You eye a book sitting on your bedside table and you chuck it at the wall. That felt really good. You grab a pillow from your bed and you throw it at the door.
Everything you’re feeling comes at you all at once. Everything hits you so hard that you begin to cry while you throw things around you’re room.
You’re tired. You’re tired of waking up and feeling like ending it all before the day starts. You’re tired of dealing with your asshole roommate, who definitely doesn’t make things easier when you have days like this.
You’re so fucking tired.
As a vase flies across the room, your bedroom door opens. A concerned Charlie stands in the doorway, looking at you with a dumbfounded look on his face. “Y/N?” he asks, getting your attention.
“Get out!” you yell at him, not meaning to yell. “I mean it, Charlie. Get out!”
Charlie’s face hardens and he says, “No. I won’t get out. You’re crying and throwing things around to the point where we might get a noise complaint against us.”
You stare at him and you say, “I honestly don’t care about a fucking noise complaint, Charlie. If someone has a problem then they can come to me.”
He looks at you and asks, “What’s going on with you today? You’re always in a good mood, well, until you’re around me.”
“I’m never in a good mood, Charlie,” you sigh. “It’s all a façade. I’m miserable. I’m so fucking miserable. I wake up and don’t want to get up for the day. I wake up and feel so sad before the day even starts. I’m tired of it.”
Charlie slowly approaches you. You’ve started sobbing at this point. Hesitantly, Charlie hugs you. Deciding to not fight him, you embrace the hug. You wrap your arms around his torso as he wraps his arms around your neck. You rest your forehead on his shoulder and the two of you stand in the middle of your room as you cry.
Both of you stand for what seems like hours, embracing each other. You just standing in Charlie’s arms and crying. He eventually starts to run his fingers through your hair to soothe you.
When you stop crying, you look up at Charlie and he says, “I may be a pain in your ass sometimes, but I do care for you, Y/N. I do, believe it or not. I do apologize if I’ve made you feel miserable or upset when you woke up like that.”
You nod and say, “You have made me feel miserable, I won’t lie.”
“Ouch, Y/N,” he says, smiling. “I’m trying to help you out here and you say that.”
With a small smile, you say, “Sorry, but it’s the truth.”
Charlie laughs and says, “I know. I’m sorry too. Do you, um, want to maybe talk about it?”
Almost surprised by the question, you say, “I, um, you probably wouldn’t understand where I’m coming from, Charlie.”
He shrugs and says, “Well, probably not, but sometimes all someone needs is an ear to listen. I’ll be that ear for you if you need me to be.”
You sigh, walking away from Charlie. You sit on your bed for a second, contemplating if you want to tell him everything that runs through your head. You’re nervous that you’ll scare him with some of the stuff that you say. Honestly, you wouldn’t be opposed to that.
“It’s been like this for years,” you start. “Dealing with waking up with no motivation, no will. I’ve never gotten help, and there have been days where I just wanted it all to just stop.”
Confused, Charlie asks, “Stop? What do you mean stop?”
You gently bite your lip, a nervous tic that you’ve gained over the years. “I’ve occasionally wanted to just stop living. There used to be days where I would rather die than live with no motivation or will.”
Charlie’s eyes widen and he asks, “But you don’t think like that anymore?”
“No,” you sigh. “I have things I decided to needed to live for.”
Curious, your roommate asks, “Like what? What do you need to live for?”
After thinking for a moment, you say, “My family, my friends, my fans. Who’s going to be a pain in your ass if I just died? Plus, there are things I want to achieve before I die so I decided to stay alive.”
He smiles when you make the little ‘who’s gonna be a pain in your ass’ comment toward him. “Well, I’m glad you’re alive,” Charlie tells you. “I really do care about you even though we have our little thing going. If you died, I’d actually be kinda upset.”
You let out a breathy laugh. “That’s shocking,” you say. “Really. Charlie Gillespie caring for me? That’s really shocking.”
“Yeah, well, I do care about the people I love,” he says. Both of you stop when he says that statement. Your eyes widen and you look at Charlie. He looks extremely nervous, like he didn’t mean to say that.
Confused, you ask, “You love me? In what way?”
Slowly and hesitantly, Charlie says, “Romantically?” It’s more of a question than it is an answer.
You blink at him before you say, “I thought you hated me.”
Charlie lets out a nervous laugh before saying, “I never outright said I hated you, Y/N. It’s actually the opposite. I just went along with our little banter because I thought you hated me.”
“I do think you’re the devil incarnate sometimes,” you admit. “But I’ve also never outright said I hated you so ...” You trail off and look at Charlie.
Both of you are quiet for a few seconds before you say, “So, what now?”
He looks at you and says, “Whatever you want, Y/N.”
Slowly, you say, “Stay with me for a little bit? No smartass comments are allowed though.”
A smile forms on Charlie’s face as he says, “Your wish is my command.”
An hour ago, you were dreading seeing Charlie. Now, you’re glad that he agreed to stay with you. It’s crazy how that happens.

I Love You- Luke Patterson
Guardian angel!luke × fem!reader
Tumblr media
Requested by: @spiderwars101 (requests are open)
"Okay hun, I got a request for you! Guardian Angel!Luke Patterson x Alive!Reader where he is her guardian angel and they are in love, and one day Y/n almost gets herself killed/hurt walking home from H.S/College, and Luke to make her feel better sings her Now or Never (because it's her favorite!) And they make love for the first time after???? "
Word Count: 2k+
TW: mentions of suicide, abuse, angst with a fluffy ending, smut
A/N: Ok so I had SO much fun writing this!!! So thank you. I spent a long time on this so reblogs are appreciated!!!
×××
When Luke died, he didn't expect to become a ghost, He didn't expected to sit in a room for 25 years comforting Alex as he cried, but he sure as hell didn't expect to be ripped away from that room and become a guardian angel to a 17 year old girl with a rough life.
But it happened.
Y/N had a really terrible childhood. Her dad left her mom once he found out she was pregnant, never to be heard from again, leaving a hole in her heart where a fathers love was supposed to be. She missed him, a man she had never met. She had tried reaching out to him multiple times, just wanting to have some type of relationship with her father, but he never answered, never even sent a card on her birthday.
Her mom eventually found love again, except, the guy she fell in love with was abusive, physically and emotionally. He had a way with words, a way to make you feel worthless and unwanted. He made you feel like you had no place there, and it broke Y/N's soul even more. She'd never forget when he slapped her across the face, screaming how pathetic she was, saying how she was good for nothing and everyone would be better off if she was gone.
After years and years of built up torment, Y/N finally felt herself snap, she finally fell down the rabbit hole of spiraling depression. She didn't know why she was going through it all, why it had to be her. Why should she even be here, if all she was doing was living in constant agony and resentment.
It wasn't until she met Luke, her guardian angel, that she knew why she needed to keep pushing, keep moving forwards. It was her love for the boy who died too young.
She had been sitting on the bathroom floor, razor blade pressed into her skin, crying as she attempted to take her own life. She just couldn't take the emotional pain she was being put through any longer. Luke had suddenly flashed into the room, causing her to stop her movements.
He looked around confused, wondering why he was no longer in a dark room with a sobbing Alex, until his eyes landed on the very scared looking girl, razor blade hovering over her wrist.
"Hey wait- don't do that!" He gasped, grabbing the razor from her shaking hands. She looked up at him, her eyes wide.
"What's wrong?" Luke asked, setting the blade down and sitting down in front of the girl, concern etched into his face.
"Who-Who are you?" She whispered, staring at the boy in wonder.
Luke knew the answer as soon as she asked, almost like the answer was whispered to him.
"I'm your guardian angel."
×××
Luke doesn't know quite how it happened, or even when, but he had found himself in love with Y/N.
Alex and Reggie had quickly caught on to the boy's love sick behavior, sharing knowing glances every time Luke would go on about how amazing she is.
"-and I still have to wait two hours!" Luke groaned, throwing himself onto the couch in the Molina's garage. They had just recently been poofed into there after Julie Molina had played their demo, and have stayed ever since.
Alex glanced at Reggie, smirking as Reggie shook his head at Luke.
"You'll be fine man, Julie is with her anyways, she can look after her."
"I'm not worried about that-" Luke said, rolling his eyes at Alex. "-I just can't wait to see her again."
When both Reggie and Alex smirked, Luke's cheeks flushed red. "What?"
"You are totally in love with her." Reggie chuckled, lazily strumming at his bass. "We can all see it."
Luke scoffed and stood up, walking over and grabbing his guitar, avoiding eye contact.
"You guys are crazy." He mumbled, picking at the strings randomly.
"Dude, you've got it bad." Alex laughed, chucking a drum stick at Luke's head, who quickly dodged it. "Just admit it to yourself already."
Luke sent a glare in Alex's direction, before plopping back onto the couch, still strumming his guitar.
"I'm not in love with her, I'm supposed to protect her, watch over her. That's why we're so close, not because I'm in love with her."
"Ok." Alex sighed, rolling his eyes and standing up. "Well, while you sit around and pout for the next two hours, I'll be with Willie."
Alex snapped his fingers and poofed out, leaving a very bored Luke and Reggie to play random things on their instruments.
×××
"Hey Jules, could you let Luke know I'm staying behind today?" Y/N asked, her nose still in her history book. "I need to finish this assignment."
"No problem. I'm sure he'll just wait outside like a golden retriever anyways."
Y/N laughed and waved goodbye, turning back to her book and looking for the last few answers.
It took her about a hour, but after reading the chapter 5 times, she was finally able to wrap up her homework.
Y/N sighed contently as she shut the book, stretching her sore limbs before packing up her belongings, excited to be going home and into Luke's comforting arms.
She slung her bag over her shoulder, and headed outside to start her journey home.
When she walked towards the parking lot, it was completely deserted. She looked at the time and gasped, she had been there longer than she thought.
She saw a flash of light across the street, and grinned when she seen Luke appear. She quickly rushed out to cross the street, not looking before she did. Luke smiled and opened his arms, until he noticed a car speeding in Y/N's direction.
His eyes went wide and he was quick to run to Y/N, quickly pulling her out of the road, the car just barely missing her.
Y/N gripped Luke's arms, her eyes wide and heart racing. Her breathing was quick to pick up, a panic attack soon to form. Luke took notice and quickly wrapped his arms around her, poofing them into her bedroom, whispering soft nothing's into her ear.
"Hey, focus on me." Luke muttered, tilting her head up to look at him. When her wide eyes met his, and her breaths didn't slow, he starting softly singing her favorite song.
"Take off, last stop-" He started, laughing when she manage to smile through her ragged breathing. "-sing it with me!"
"C-Count down till we blast open the top." She started, suddenly feeling her panic attack start to die down.
Luke grinned as he continued the song, pausing every so often to let her finish the lyrics. By the time the song was over, her breathing had returned to normal, and she was laughing with him.
"See? You're ok!" He said, placing a kiss on her forehead. When he pulled away, he placed a hand on her cheek, his thumb tracing it softly.
Y/N placed her hand atop of his, holding it gently.
Their eyes connected, and suddenly Luke felt a swarm of butterflies attack his stomach. They had been a lot closer than he realized, their faces mere inches away from each other.
Y/N's eyes flicked from Luke's to his lips, wanting nothing more to experience his soft lips on hers. It had been something she had dreamed of for a while now, ever since she realized she had fallen in love with her guardian angel.
Luke took notice in her flickering gaze, and swallowed the lump in his throat. He slowly leaned forward, his lips barely grazing hers, before she closed the gap and connected her lips with his.
Luke felt a spark ignite within him as their lips met, a heat spread through him, causing him to sigh and pull her closer, his lips molding into hers.
Their lips moved in sync, the kiss slow, but full of fire, full of passion that had their heads fuzzy and stomach in knots. It was the type of kiss that left you breathless, left you wanting more.
"Ready to head home?"

FROM A FAN TO HIS GIRL | charlie gillespie headcannons
Requested by anon: “hiii i love your writing and im in an angsty mood could you possibly write a Charlie imagine where him and the reader gets into an argument and he says something like “well ur just a fan” cause that’s how they met and she takes it really personal cause she doesn’t feel like she’s been good enough for him but the like make up and it’s okay? thank you so much” A/N: sorry, i know that this isn’t an imagine but i felt like headcannons would suit this idea better! WARNING(s): some angst with a fluffy ending
Tumblr media
Charlie and you first met in Maui, Hawaii, where you and your best friend where vacationing. Julie and The Phantoms was the very show that you guys had binge-watched on the plane ride there, so imagine your surprise when you ran into the cast members.
They were extremely sweet and invited you two to play beach volleyball with them. You guys played for a couple hours until you had to go back to the hotel to submit an assignment, because college doesn’t let anyone be at peace. Charlie offered to walk you back to your hotel because apparently “it isn’t safe.”
That was a lie. He was absolutely mesmerized by you – not just by how beautiful you were, but more by your bubbly personality. He thought that you were the human epitome of sunshine, and he loved the fact that you could light up any room that you walked into. He loved how big your heart was, how you always made sure everyone was comfortable.
In front of the hotel, he asked you for your number, and if you could hang out sometime back in the states. Of course, you said yes, because you thought that he’s the nicest person ever, and an absolute gentleman.
You guys hung out a couple times over the next few days, and when you went back to the states, you would facetime every night. By then, you were pretty much gone for him, especially after knowing how compassionate and amiable he was.
He also loved to travel, which was something you guys had in common.
Finally, after months of talking on the phone and texting, he asked you to come to Ecuador with him during Christmas. During that trip, you guys told each other about your feelings, and he kissed you, and asked you to be ‘his girl.’
After months of dating, when production started for season two of Julie and The Phantoms, you guys were separated for months on end, and the both of you were definitely not handling it well by bottling up everything.
Whenever Charlie would call, you would have classes going on. Whenever you would call, he would have scenes to shoot. So, you guys went weeks without talking.
One day, your best friend posted a picture of you, her, and this guy she likes on her Instagram. Charlie follows her, and he thought that you were cheating on him with that guy, since he had his arm wrapped around you. He called you.
You got pretty mad at him for jumping into conclusions, so you told him how you felt as if he were ignoring you.
“Well, Y/N, I feel like you’re too busy for me. You don’t pick up my calls either, so I gave up after a while. But now, I think that he’s the reason why you are not picking up my calls.”
“Oh, for god’s sake, Charles, he’s just a friend! And you’re such a fucking hypocrite. You’ve not only missed my calls, but you’ve also missed important events in my life! I’m always supporting you, but when I need you, you’re gone.”
That went on for a while until Charlie snapped, “Well, you’re just a fan.”
You felt your heart drop at that. It’s an insecurity of yours. You love Charlie, you really do – but you can’t ever, ever change the circumstances under which you met, no matter how much you wish for it. Plus, you thought that you were more to him than that, but clearly not. It’s things like this that keep you up at night, making you feel like you’re not good enough for him and that no matter where you two are, there would always be this unspoken variable hanging in the air: you’re just a fan.
You were crying as you said, “If that’s what you think of me, then alright. We’re over, okay? You can now date all the models and actors and Hollywood girls. Good luck.”
Before he could say anything, you hung up.
For the rest of the day, you stayed curled up in your couch, watching New Girl and crying. Oh, to be Jess!
Your self esteem was at an all-time zero.
At 3AM, however, you were woken up by an insane banging on your front door – you had fallen asleep crying.
Opening the door, you felt your heart clench. Charlie was standing there with a box of chocolate glazed donuts from your favorite bakery.
“I am so sorry. I swear I didn’t mean what I said. It just – I’m just so afraid of losing you, and these past few weeks I’ve been feeling like that, like I’m losing you. And when I saw you with that guy I just assumed that maybe you decided that I wasn’t good enough for you, and I know that doesn’t excuse that, but I just love you so much and I was so afraid of losing you so I just assumed the worst and took out whatever I’ve been feeling the past few weeks on you and that’s absolutely not okay, and you deserve so, so much better than me and I swear I didn’t mean a single thing that I said – you’re not just a fan, baby, you’re my girl and I really don’t wanna lose you and you mean everything to me so please, please forgive me.”
You stared at the guy in front of you, who looked a little disheveled and a whole lot crazy. “That was all over the place.”
“I know, I practiced it on the plane but when I saw you, I just forgot everything.”
You jumped into his arms, basking the feeling of warmth and his scent. You felt as if you were drinking water after a long while. “I’m sorry, too. I should’ve figured out something, try to put a little more effort.”
“It’s not your fault, baby.”
“I love you, you idiot. Even after you made me cry the whole day today. Now, come in, I want those donuts!”

Distant- Charlie Gillespie Imagine
Summary: Charlie has been distant and you finally let out your thoughts.
Warnings: Angst.. a lot of it, but it has a nice ending!
Request: yes (x) no () “This wouldn’t even be a problem, if you wouldn’t make one out of it.” “How does that make it okay?”
Words: 2.3k
A/N: I would like to clarify that I don’t think Charlie ever do this; this is purely fiction! Just like any other imagine! Also, you wanna request an imagine, imbox me! check out the prompt list of you need inspiration!
Tumblr media
“I’m going to be at Owen’s tonight,” Charlie announced as he was packing his backpack for the day. I look up at him in disbelief. We have been married for almost a year, and for these past three months, I have woken up almost every day to him not by my side. I understand that he is busy with work and filming. I understand that he needs a guy’s night sometimes. But he is about to leave for a whole day and not even bother coming home.
“Why?” I ask.
Charlie let’s out a frustrated sigh, “I just want a guy’s night.” I scoff and look back at my morning coffee. “What?” he asks, hearing my reaction to what he said.
“Charlie, you’ve had a guy’s night almost every day this week! Will you at least be home for dinner?” I question.
He stops packing his bag to look at me. “No, (Y/N). I’m going to his right after work. You know this,” he says, placing a hand on his hip.
I could feel the anger growing inside me that has been slowing building over these past few months. “Fine,” I state, finishing my coffee and place the mug into the sink.
I hear Charlie walk closer to me, “Okay, what’s wrong?”
I keep my back towards him because I couldn’t even think of looking him in the face right now. “Nothing,” I mumble. “Have a good day.”
I start walking towards our room before Charlie grabs my arm to make me stop. “No! Something is wrong! What is it?” he asks, raising his voice a little.
Tears started to brew in my eyes slightly. I tug my arm out of his grasp and look at him, “Why don’t you take a guess, Charlie?! Why could I be so upset?!”
“I don’t know! That’s why I’m asking, (Y/N)!” he says, analyzing my face. He then looks straight into my eyes as a tear dropped on my cheek. He furrows his eyebrows and places his hand on my cheek to wipe the tear away. “You’re crying!”
I take his hand off of my face as more tears started to fall. “Please, come home tonight,” I whisper.
“Babe, I just said I was going to Owen’s,” Charlie whispers as well, reaching to wipe more of my tears.
Before he could reach my face, I back away. “And that’s the problem!” I shout. The anger that has been swelling up in me is finally coming out, and I didn’t know how to control it or let it out in a calmly manner. “Charlie, you are never home anymore! I have been eating alone for a while now, and I have been going to bed alone because you are at Owen’s! ”
Charlie shakes his head, “Babe, you know I work these long hours. Sometimes I need guy time! We’ve talked about this! This wouldn’t even be a problem, if you wouldn’t make one out of it.”
“Are you kidding me?!” I shout. “I understand all of that, but what about having time together?! We haven’t had dinner together in two and a half months! And how does that make it okay?! How does that make it okay to leave your wife alone all the time?! Do you understand how lonely I am feeling?”
I stare at Charlie, finishing my statement of emotions. He had a shocked expression on his face as if he didn’t know that he has been doing this. Tears were now forming in his eyes.
“I am.. so sorry, (Y/N). I had no idea,” Charlie whispers, stepping closer only for me to take another step back.
“Sorry isn’t going to cut it this time, Charlie. You have been leaving your wife alone for three months, and you didn’t even notice. Does this marriage even matter to you anymore?” I cry. There was a moment of silence as both of us had tears running down our faces. Charlie’s mouth kept opening and closing, not knowing what to say. “Whatever, I am going to Jeremy and Carolynn’s. Have fun at work,” I mumble.
I walk quickly to the door, slipping on my shoes and grab my keys. I heard Charlie protesting for me to stop and to come back, but I couldn’t look at him anymore. I was so upset and angry to continue speaking to him. I get in my car and drive away to our friend’s house.
***
I pull into the driveway of Jeremy and Carolynn’s house, sobbing uncontrollably. I texted Carolynn that I was on my way and that I wanted to hang out for the day. I slowly climbed out of the car and walked to their front door to ring the doorbell. I few seconds later, Care opens the door. Once she noticed my tear stained, red cheeks, she pulls me into a hug. “Oh my goodness, what happened?!” she questions, rubbing my back.
I pull away from the hug to wipe away the tears with my sleeve. “Charlie and I had a fight. I finally told him how lonely I was because he’s never home,” I whimper, more tears threatening to fall. “He didn’t even notice, Care,” I cry out.
“Oh, sweetie,” Carolynn whispers, pulling me back into a hug. I sobbed quietly in her shoulder. I suddenly hear footsteps coming from inside the house. I look up from Carolynn’s shoulder to see Jeremy standing behind her. I pull away from the hug to wave at Jeremy. He doesn’t say anything, but instead he too pulls me into a hug.
“Everything will be okay. Charlie will come to his senses,” Jeremy whispers in my ear. I nod my head and pull away from his grasp. Jeremy steps to the side to let me into their house. “I am on my way to set. I will see you later. I love you,” he says, giving Carolynn a kiss on the cheek. Care says her goodbyes and closes the door. I plop myself on the couch and grab a blanket nearby to let it cover my legs.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Care asks, sitting down next to me on the couch.
I let out a heavy sigh, “Yeah, I just need to vent.”
“I’m all ears, (Y/N/N),” Care says.
I tell her everything that happened just an hour ago. I tell her that Charlie was going to be at Owen’s again for the 5th night in a row, leaving me alone again. I tell her how frustrated I have been with him that he hasn’t even payed the slightest attention to me. I tell her that I have cried myself to sleep because I miss his arms around me at night sometimes. I tell her everything.
“Do I sound selfish for all of this?” I ask quietly. I had finally stopped crying. My eyes were burning from how much crying I have done.
“(Y/N), you are not selfish at all!” Carolynn says. “Charlie married you for a reason, and he isn’t keeping the promises he made to you. He is 100% in the wrong, and he needs to make up for it!”
I shake my head, “I’m not going to work for it if he’s not going to. I’m tired of trying to keep making this work. Maybe this whole marriage thing was a mistake.” I look at my left hand, fiddling with my ring.
“No, (Y/N)!” Carolynn protests. “It’s only been almost a year! You guys can get through this and fix it! Please, don’t give up!”
“Why? Why should I not give up?” I frustratingly ask.
“Because you both love each other so much. I know this is awful and frustrating, but you guys need to communicate so you can fix this,” Carolynn advises.
“Well, he has a funny way of showing that he loves me, recently,” I mumble.
There was a pause in the conversation to let everything sink in. I think Carolynn knew that she shouldn’t push it too much. “Let’s have a spa day. Let’s do facemasks, paint our nails, and watch comedy movies to make this day better,” Care says, standing up with a big smile on her face.
I look up to see her bright face. I slightly smile at her positivity. “That sounds wonderful,” I say. Care claps her hands and runs to get the spa stuff.
***
Hours pass and Carolynn and I’s spa day had come to an end. My stomach was growling to let me know that I needed food. “Are you sure you don’t want to stay for dinner?” Carolynn asks.
I shake my head, “It’s okay, Care. I have leftovers waiting for me at my house.” Care cocks her head to the side, not believing that it was okay to go back home. “I’ll be fine. I promise. I am a little nervous to go home, but it’s okay. I need to go home eventually.”
Carolynn gives me a sympathy smile. “Okay, if you say so. Text me when you get home,” she says, pulling me into one last hug before I go.
I wave goodbye before climbing into my car. I let out a heavy sigh, starting the engine to drive back home. I don’t put on any music like I normally do. I drive in silence. About a half an hour later, I arrived back home. I saw that Charlie’s car wasn’t in the driveway which didn’t surprise me, but my heart still dropped at the sight of it not being there. I get out of the car and go to the front door to unlock it. I stop my tracks as I could hear music coming from inside. I listen closely, but I couldn’t make out the song. I slightly twist the door knob to see it was unlocked. I slowly open the door and peak inside. The song started to be clearer as I open the door, and I realized that it was Charlie and I’s song. It was Everything She Does is Magic covered by Sleeping at Last.
As I open the door fully, I saw Charlie standing in the kitchen. I couldn’t believe my eyes. He was cooking something on the stove, and it smelled delicious. Charlie turns around to see me frozen at the front door. “Hey, you’re home!” he exclaims, a smile forming on his face. I slowly put my keys on the key holder and take off my shoes, still staring at Charlie.
“What are you doing here?” I ask.
“I am cooking dinner for my wife,” Charlie says, turning back to the stove.
I tilt my head to the side, confused, “But.. but I thought you were going to Owen’s tonight?”
Charlie covers the pot and walks over to me. “I told him that I need to spend time with my wife tonight,” he says, taking my hands into his. I could feel my heart pounding. He squeezes my hands before he continues to speak. “I have been a total dick towards you, and I don’t think I could apologize enough to earn your forgiveness. I totally understand that. I shouldn’t have been leaving you alone so many times, and I can’t believe that I let myself do that to you. I can’t believe I didn’t realize how lonely you were. I shouldn’t earn your forgiveness, but I can’t imagine you not in my life. This marriage does matter to me! I’m truly, deeply, immensely, sorry, (Y/N).”
This time, Charlie’s eyes were brewing with tears as he was talking. I could see the guilt painted on his face. I could tell how sincerely sorry he was. As I was analyzing his face, I could tell that he was wanting me to say something. However, I am speechless, so I pulled Charlie into a big hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he wraps his arms around my waist. I rub his head as he slightly sobs in my neck. I pull away, keeping my hands wrapped around his neck.
“I don’t think I can describe how hurt I have been feeling these past few months. I felt like you didn’t want to be with me anymore, so you avoided me by not coming home or coming home super late. I know you film late at times, but there wouldn’t be a text if you would come late because of filming or hanging out with Owen or Jeremy. We need to communicate better, and I would appreciate it if you would at least spend time with me,” I rant.
Charlie let’s go of my waist and places his hands on my face. “Of course, (Y/N). I should have been doing that anyway. I used to spend time with you and let you know when I was coming home. I don’t know if it’s because how stressed I have been with filming that I got out of routine, but I shouldn’t have stopped. I’m so, so, so sorry. I will work on it; we can fix this,” he says, placing his forehead onto mine.
I then take my hands and place them on his cheeks as well, wiping away his tears. “Thank you,” I whisper. I bend his head down to kiss him on the forehead. Charlie pulls me into another tight hug, rubbing my back. I pull away and grab Charlie’s hands. “Wait, where is your car?”
“Oh, it’s at our neighbors across from us. I wanted to surprise you by being here tonight, and I didn’t want you to know I was here. Which probably wasn’t the best choice, but I wanted to make you dinner to slightly make up for my absence. There is a lot of making up I need to do,” Charlie explains.
“I won’t deny that,” I joke, but at the same time am serious. “Is dinner ready?” I question.
Charlie chuckles, “Yes! Let’s eat!” He keeps holding my hand and tugs me to the kitchen. He grabs two plates and starts dishing up our meal. I grab cubs to fill them with ice and water. We sit down at our designated spots at the table and have dinner together. This was the first dinner we have had in weeks, and I couldn’t have been happier to be sitting here with my husband.

Down For the Count - Charlie Gillespie x Injured!Reader
Tumblr media
JATP cast masterlist
Requested: via these Injury/Hiking asks.
Warnings: Swearing I think, injury, falling/accident, hospital
Words: 2004
Summary: After a hard fall resulting in a bad injury, your boyfriend Charlie comes to the rescue to be your care taker at the same time as he has a Live with Owen.
A/n: A filled request? On my page??? It’s more likely than we thought! This one has been a long time coming (sorry act that). I have an exam coming up so I don't know how much I’ll write until then, but after I might have a shit ton of free time so I might be able to continue filling requests.
“What happened?” I hear Charlie practically screech upon seeing me sitting on the dull blue colored vinyl of the hospital examination table. He’s still dressed in his muscle tee, athletic shorts, and he’s got his hiking bag on his back, which lets me know he didn’t take it off as he sped over to the hospital.
“I don’t wanna talk about it.” My emotionless assertion makes Savannah laugh. “I fell down a few stairs wrong and messed up my ankle pretty bad.” And luckily my phone was in my back pocket pre-fall. Knowing Charlie went with Chevel for a morning hike in nature with no service, Sav was the only other person close enough to my space of living to come scoop me up. I sat on the stairs for the solid 15 minutes it took her to drive over here, just waiting. The way I fell and the pain that came with it was unmistakably reason enough to not even try and stand. And I was right to do so because, after a standard hospital visit, I’d been informed that I had torn a ligament. Go me!
“Well, are you okay now? Is it broken? Are you okay to go home?”
“Charlie, I’m fine. It’s a mild tear, I just need to stay off it for a little while.” I gesture him closer mid-sentence so I can pull a leaf out of his long hair. He catches my hand in his as I release the lock of his hair.
“How long is a little while?”
“Six weeks most likely.”
“Six weeks?!”
“I’ll be fine, Charlie.”
“As much as I love you, I do have to leave so-” Savannah interjects Charlie’s moment of panic, whilst collecting all three items she had brought to the ER with me. “Charlie? Please keep an eye on her. Don’t let her try and tough it out like we know she will.”
“I’m fine, Sav.”
“You’re on crutches, Y/n.” She mimics my tone and inflection before double-checking with Charlie in a single look, and promptly exiting the hospital. I look at my hiking trail dust-covered boyfriend in annoyance but his face doesn’t waver from its determinedly firm expression.
“Do you need help off the table?”
“No, but I’ll probably need help getting into the car.”
“Yeah, no problem.”
__________________________
“Okay, you’ve got the remote, pillows, blankets, pain killers, water, a juice box, a healthy snack, an unhealthy snack, and a charger. That should be good, right?”
“It’s good. I’m sure it’s more than enough, Charlie. Thank you.” Charlie looks at me with a proud smile, knowing he’s doing his best to help me out. My confirmation is the last thing he needs before telling me that he has a Live to do, for the millionth time. It takes some reassuring that I’ll be okay if he resides in the room next to me, and eventually he leaves me alone.
I puff out a short breath as a symptom of convincing Charlie first and foremost, but second, the eventful day I’ve had all before 11 AM. Sitting in a static silence for a bit piques my curiosity as to what Charlie is doing, but it doesn’t last long and I reach for the tv remote. No time like the present to watch the newest show everybody’s raving about. Does anyone even care about Bridgerton anymore? Do I really wanna watch a series about homicide and Mormons? I figure it can’t hurt to watch something made by John Mulaney. Even if I’ve already seen it six times…
When I open the program, I’m met with the Netflix logo which is far too quiet for me to hear anything. As I’m about to turn up the volume, I hear Charlie’s voice carry over from the next room.
“Y/n’s injured so I’m taking care of her for a little bit.”
“Wait, what happened?” That sounds like Owen’s voice.
“She fell and messed up her ankle real bad.”
Real bad. Yeah, that’s one way of putting it.
Returning my attention to the undetermined John Mulaney special, I hesitate for a minute before eventually choosing Kid Gorgeous and letting it play from the beginning. Although the special is still as entertaining as the first time I watched it, I find myself fighting sleep. Thankfully, I frontloaded my week with most of my responsibilities, so I can afford to take the day to myself. It is more of a need than a want, but still. I ultimately give in to my desire and let myself rest after the eventful morning. Sleep quickly consumes me in the best way possible where I’m not in so deep that I’ll wake up miserable, but still fully unconscious and resting.
When my eyes flutter open, I’m confused as to why I’ve woken up until I feel it. I drank all of my full water bottle and a juice box and I have to pee.
Fuck. What time is it? I haven’t been asleep that long, but it’s been long enough that the special is over and Netflix is hounding me to watch something else. Where is my boyfriend?
“Charlie?” I sleepily call into the abyss. It’s less than a second later that Charlie appears in the doorway, breathless from having sprinted from what sounded like the kitchen.
“Are you okay? I thought you were sleeping. How long have you been calling for me?”
“Shhh,” I attempt to simmer his worry, “I’m fine. Can you just help me get to the bathroom?” I set my good foot on the ground and attempt to stand, but my body, still not fully awake, nearly gives out on me whilst my vision is overtaken by a cloudy headrush. Charlie is by my side in an instant, catching me by pulling my torso into his more stable one.
“Hey, wait, you should just sit for a sec and give yourself some time to wake up-”
“Charlie, I have to pee so bad.”
“Okay, okay.” Despite verbally agreeing, Charlie doesn’t allow me to move any further. I look at him in confusion to see he’s eyeing the crutches on the floor by the arm of the couch. “Yeah, you’re not stable enough yet,” he says to himself, but our close proximity allows me to hear him anyway. Before I can process what’s happening, Charlie sweeps me up bridal style and begins carrying me to the bathroom.
“Your workout’s been paying off,” I mumble into the fabric of his t-shirt. The fool laughs lightly, his cool breath dusting the top of my head and his chest vibrating against me. It’s so comforting to be in his arms that I nearly fall back asleep on the way to the bathroom. Charlie notices and presses a kiss to my forehead to keep me awake.
“Hey. You gotta pee first and then you can go back to sleep.” I groan as a reply, causing him to laugh again. “Will you be okay moving around the space or do you need my help?”
“The bathroom is not that big, Charlie.”
“Okay, okay.”
My bathroom visit goes seamlessly, and the warm water of the tap wakes me up enough to talk to my hyper-cautious lover through the door of the bathroom.
“How was your Live?”
“It’s been good so far.” At his response I freeze for a moment, looking at my own reflection as if I’m face to face with Charlie.
“So far?”
“Yeah, Owen’s babysitting the Live right now.”
“You didn’t tell you were still on. I would’ve managed on my own.”
“I’m not gonna let my seriously injured girlfriend struggle her way through my house!” He cries, sounding legitimately offended, but knowing Charlie, he’s not being 100% sincere. I unlock the door and swing it open to find him pouting. He doesn’t speak again until after he scoops me back up into his grasp. “Do you want to go back to the couch or come sit with me or…?”
“Will you sit on the couch with me?” I feel him nod above me and feel my eyes begin to droop as they had on the way to the bathroom. Should I let myself sleep more? I want to be able to sleep tonight, but I’m still so exhausted that I’m convincing myself everything will turn out fine.
“Okay, let me go grab Owen and I’ll come sit on the couch with you.” A hazy smile rests on my tired features as Charlie sets me down on the sleep-inducing cushions of his couch. I can hear he’s already back after a quick second when Owen’s voice sounds through the speakers of his phone. To my surprise, he doesn’t sit down right away, and when I crack my eye open to investigate why, I’m met with Charlie staring down at me in awe. I don’t even need to ask what he’s thinking and the sheepish boy wordlessly takes his place on the couch next to me. He’s leaning back against the pillows he set up and beckons me to lay my head against his shoulder. Mindful of my pain, he helps me prop up my injured leg for elevation.
“Hey, Y/n!” I hear the familiar voice that I don’t have to open my heavy eyes to identify.
“Hi, Owen.”
“How you doin’?”
“I’m-”
“Hey, that’s my thing!” Charlie cuts me off to whine at his best friend.
“What?”
“Only I can ask Y/n ‘how you doin’?’” He says in the iconic Joey Tribbiani fashion. I exhale as much of a laugh as I can muster before resuming the conversation Charlie childishly interrupted.
“I’m doing alright. It’s only day one and life already sucks, but nothing is broken, so, could be better and could be worse.”
“I feel so bad for you.”
“Aww well, at least I have Charlie here to take care of me.”
“I feel so bad for you,” Owen pointedly parrots, earning a harsh glare from Charlie.
“You know what? If I had it my way, you wouldn’t be in this Live.”
“Don’t be mean!” I scold my nuisance of a boyfriend, gently tapping the back of my hand against his chest. Charlie grabs the offending hand and interlaces our fingers, bringing it up to place a sweet kiss on my knuckles.
“Siiiiiiiiimmpp!”
“You’re just jealous you’re all alone in Oklahoma.”
“Uhhh, correction: I have Eaton here for the week, so ha!” I roll my eyes at the childishness that is Owen and Charlie, but laugh all the same. It’s never-ending with these boys, and the chaos, though exhausting, is humorous more often than not. I’m happy to be with the boys again, but the harder it gets for me to keep my eyes open, the more I realize I wasn’t fully ready to be awake yet. As Charlie’s shoulder becomes the most comfortable spot in the world, I look at the two of us in his window on the Live to see he’s looking right back at me on the screen. He ignores the fact that I’ve caught him and absentmindedly lays his head on mine. The position only lasts for a brief second before he’s back to his animated self when Owen asks him a question.
My eyes fall heavier and heavier with each blink before they refuse to open. In and out, my breathing slows to an even draw and I can feel my weight slowly relax onto Charlie’s shoulder. It doesn’t seem to affect him at all as he sits off the back of the couch.
“Is she asleep?”
“I don’t know, let’s ask. Y/n, are you asleep?”
“Charlie, you’re such an idiot, leave her alone.”
I feel the infinitesimal pressure of his breath against the top of my head when he leans down to press a loving kiss to where my hair has parted on his shoulder. He then traces the knuckle of his index finger down the side of my exposed cheek before resuming his conversation with Owen about weird fan mail they’ve gotten. How I love this idiot.

Driver’s License
[Luke Patterson x Reader]
Requested: YES! By my bestie @dakotagillespie !!! (go follow her, she makes amazing art♥).
Based off the song ‘driver’s license’ by Olivia Rodrigo
Summary: After a whole Spring and Summer of Luke teaching Y/N to drive, she’s finally ready to get her license and makes plans to take her boyfriend back to his parent’s after he plays at the Orpheum.
A/N: Bruh I’m literally making little mini series’ about Sunset Curve’s boo thangs before they died..... sorry for all the angst but also I’m not sorry at all :)
“Pull over, pull over, pull over,” Luke repeats enthusiastically, scared but still giggling at how horrible of a driver you are.
You quickly turn on your blinker and pull off to the side of the road, feeling your heart beat all the way down your arms. You felt like it was making the whole car shake.
You look over at Luke, eyes wide, nervous to look into his eyes after almost killing him. ‘Almost killing him’ is an exaggeration. You only swerved into the other lane a little because you thought you saw a squirrel in the middle of the road. Turns out, it was just a leaf.
“Well that was,” Luke struggles to find the right words, “an adventure.” He looks at your face, sees your on the verge of tears and trying so hard to bottle it up and shifts his position in the passenger’s seat. “Hey, it’s okay. I sucked at driving too when I first started.”
“You think I suck at driving?” You nearly shout at him, only half of you taking offense to that.
“Wait, no! No, no, no. That’s not what I meant, I mean-” he takes a deep breath and huffs it out in a laugh.
You give him a tilted look, your pending tears now fading away as a smile crosses her face. “I know what you meant, Luke,” you interrupt his babbling and reach out for his hand. “I’m just giving you a hard time.”
“Well, don’t do that!” He bats his eyelashes as he looks back up at you, your hand fitting snug in his. “Also, please try not to kill me anymore, okay? I wanna be able to live to play the Orpheum.”
“AH!” you shout in a teasing-defensive tone, taking the map from off the dashboard and hitting him with it.
“Hey, hey, hey!” he shouts as he reaches through your hands to tickle your sides, knowing it’s your weakness. Immediately, your hands fly to his to try and get him to stop. Loud laughs and high pitched squeals fill the car as you fight off each other’s loving touches.
“This probably looks so wrong,” Luke say through a breathless laugh.
“What do you mean?” you get out once you’re able to stop laughing.
“A pulled over, fogged up car that’s rocking back and forth? People are gonna think we’re up to something naughty.” Luke decrescendos his voice so its merely a whisper by the end of his sentence.
“And what if we were?” You tease, brushing the mess of hair out of his face.
“Aaah,” he nods his head and smiles. “I like the way you think, Y/N,” he leans up closer to you, his nose brushing against yours until your lips meet. He pushes himself up more so he’s taller than you, continuing to kiss you and hold the side of your face in his hand.
“I’m never gonna get my license if we keep doing this every time you take me driving,” you say in between kisses, your smile clashing on top of his.
He groans and pulls himself off of you. “You take your test in what? Like a week?”
“On Wednesday, yeah.”
“So, we’re fiiiiineee,” he sings. “We should still probably take you home so your mom doesn’t flip out on me for having you out too late. One of our mothers already hates me, we don’t need both of them to.”
“Luke, don’t say that. Your mom doesn’t hate you.” You reassure him, looking longingly into his now sad eyes.
“She sure acts like it,” he looks down at his hands and his voice gets quiet. Noticing the tension in the car he’s created, he quickly perks up and says, “switch me spots, I’ll take you home,” with a smile and a wink.
Tumblr media
You hadn’t talked to Luke in a while. Every time you went by his house, he wasn’t there because him and his mom were fighting. You hated seeing how estranged he was from his mother and wished you could do something to help.
Today, you drove by his house to tell him the exciting news that you had passed your driver’s test!! To your luck, he was outside pulling some weeds when you pulled up in the driveway. He gave you a look and wiggled his eyebrows once he realized it was you driving that 92′ Chevy Blazer. You quickly got out of the car and ran into his arms.
You couldn’t decide if he was more cute or more hot with his cut off shirt, gardening gloves and sunhat.
“I didn’t expect to see you here,” you smile as you rub in some of the sunscreen on his cheek.
“Yeah, mom’s making me do yardwork before band practice.” He rolls his eyes and scoffs. “But look at you! You got your license, and a car?!” He changes his mood so quickly, pointing over to your new ride. “This is sick, Y/N,” he wraps his arm over your shoulders and brings you in for a side hug, kissing the top of your head while doing so.
“I know! Now I can actually pick you up after the show and we can maybe come back here after?”
Luke groans again. “Do we have to? She doesn’t even know we’re playing there, yet.”
“I think it would be nice for her to see how good you guys actually are. Maybe she’ll be more supportive after that.” You shrug at him, trying to convince him that she just needs some time to come around.
“Speaking of the devil,” Luke starts, “let’s go somewhere before she gets back,” he coos as she pulls you into his body.
“Don’t you have to do yardwork?”
“I’m basically done,” he bites off his gardening gloves and throws them into the yard.
“Okay, cowboy,” you tease him as you flick his sunhat off of his head and walk off to the driver’s side of the car.
“Don’t let Reggie hear you call me that, he’s been trying to get us to sing country music for forever.”
You laugh at the messy-haired boy beside you, soaking in the moment of the two of you together before he makes it big with Sunset Curve and won’t be able to see you as much anymore.
“You know, I wish you were more comfortable driving so I could hold your hand right now,” he looks over at you, although your eyes are glued to the road ahead of you. You manage to get out a laugh, fighting the temptation to look at his cute face.
Since he can’t hold your hand, he settles for resting his had on your knee. Which, in your opinion, was much better.

Terrified | Charlie Gillespie
Pairing: Charlie Gillespie x Pregnant!Reader
Summary: You’re afraid of motherhood due to your own personal issues with your mother.
Warnings: ANGST, mentions of abuse and neglect, mentions of adoption and unwanted pregnancy. Happy ending.
Word Count: 1,452
A/n: This is intense. This fic was not planned but I think this is my best fic that I ever wrote. I hope you enjoy and reblog!
Tumblr media
Your husband’s voice continued to ring through your head.
We’re going to be parents, Y/n.
You had been feeling nauseous the past few weeks and your period was around two weeks late. You took three pregnancy tests that morning and they all came back positive. Charlie was ecstatic and immediately began jumping for joy when he saw the positive pregnancy tests. He was the one that encouraged you to take them, and he had been correct. You were pregnant and you were fucking terrified.
Growing up you had always wanted children of your own. When you were four, you played with your baby dolls wishing you were a mother. As you grew up you realized how much you didn’t want to be a mother anymore, and that was all because of your emotionally abusive mother.
Growing up, you always felt neglected. Your mother would usually focus on the successes and achievements of your older sister. She was her pride and joy, but you were the “dumb” daughter, and the “weird” child too. You did alright in school, but you just weren’t a straight A student like your sister was. Your mother hated you for that. She wanted you to be “perfect” and you weren’t, at least in her eyes.
After your sister left for college, you were left with your recently divorced mother. In order to cope she began excessively drinking and smoking. She was often drunk and you would have to pick up the pieces and help her. You never once went to your sister for help because you didn’t want to disturb her new life away from your mother. Your mother treated you like garbage. She body shamed you and degraded you. She would make you feel unsafe in your own home. Once you got the chance to leave, you never returned.
You felt broken when you finally left your mother. She had completely broken you, and the thought of having your own children scared you. You never would want your children to grow up in an unloving home.
When you started dating Charlie, you didn’t talk about the future a lot. You didn’t know what you wanted, so there was nothing to really talk about. You were so damaged that you didn’t know what to look forward to in your life.
Charlie encouraged you to seek therapy, and you thanked him every day for that. It definitely helped and you realized nothing that happened between you and your mother was your fault at all. She was completely to blame and you finally accepted that.
After many therapy sessions, you were finally ready to plan your life out. You went to college, graduated, landed an amazing job, bought a house with Charlie, and finally got married after three years of dating. The one thing you didn’t think about was having a baby. That thought still scared you. You thought that you wouldn’t be a good mother.
Ever since you saw the positive test you have been freaking out. Charlie couldn’t get a hold of you. You did everything you could to distract yourself and ignore him. You didn’t want to face him.
“Y/n?” Charlie called out to you. You had been in your office for about four hours and Charlie was definitely worried about you. You would usually come out of your office once in a while to eat or spend time with him. He was concerned, to say the least.
You didn’t answer him and just continued typing an email out instead. Charlie decided to try calling out for you again.
“Angel, you need to eat. Remember you have to eat for you and the baby.” That’s right. The baby. The baby growing inside of you. You decided to step out of your office and make your way to the kitchen. You were getting hungry after all. You went to the fridge to get some leftovers.
“Hey, honey,” Charlie said as he made his way over to you. He pressed a kiss to your forehead and then kneeled in front of you to press a kiss on your stomach. Anyone else would think that your husband is absolutely adorable giving a kiss to your unborn baby, but you couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable.
“Char, we need to talk.”
“What is it?” Charlie’s voice laced with concern, especially when he saw your eyes water.
“I’m scared to be a mother,” you said as Charlie met your gaze. “I don’t know if I want to keep the baby.”
“What do you mean you don’t want to keep it?” Charlie asked gently, not in a rude way at all. Not like you expected. Charlie really loved you, but he didn’t want to hear the next words come out of your mouth. He wanted to be a father so badly and he wanted to raise the baby with you.
“Maybe we can put the baby up for adoption once they’re born,” you said. You didn’t want to, but you didn’t want to be a terrible mother.
“Y/n, why don’t you want to keep the baby?” Charlie asked, tears flowing from his hazel eyes. “Our baby.”
“I had a really bad childhood and I don’t want to give our child a bad life.”
“Y/n, I know for a fact that you’re not going to give them a bad life. We’ll give them the best life,” Charlie tried to reassure you.
“I’m fucked up, Charlie,” you snapped. “Don’t you get it?” You didn’t want to yell at your husband, but he wasn’t understanding you.
“Y/n, your mother was the bad guy, not you,” Charlie reminded you. “You’ve been working on yourself, trying to get better.”
“I can’t have a baby, Charlie,” you cried. “This is not something we’ve talked about. You know that.”
“Because I just assumed that what’s you wanted too.”
“I did,” you paused. “When I was younger.”
“What changed?” He asked.
“My mother,” you said and then walked back to your office. You couldn’t handle this anymore. You didn’t want to fight anymore. Charlie rushed after you but you slammed the door in his face. You knew it wasn’t right but you needed to be alone right now. You had way too much on your mind.
“Y/n, please, open the door,” Charlie said from the other side. You slid down against the door and put your knees up to your chest and hugged yourself tightly.
“Y/n, I know this is not what you want, but I really think we should keep the baby,” Charlie said, knowing you can hear him clearly. “I just know that you’re going to be an incredible mom. The baby is going to love you, Y/n. I promise you that.” You started crying while Charlie was speaking, which urged him to continue.
“I know that you didn’t have the best childhood, and that’s why I know you’re going to make sure our child has the best one. You realized that what your mother did to you was wrong, and I am certain that you’ll do what’s good for our child. I just know that you’ll love them so much. You picked up the pieces to your life and you’re successful now, and I know you’ll raise an incredible and beautiful human being.”
Everything that Charlie said was true. You managed to pick up the pieces of your broken life and escape your mother. You had everything in you to raise a child.
You wiped the tears off of your face and got up to open the door to reveal a saddened Charlie. You wrapped your arms around him almost immediately.
“Thank you, Charlie.” Charlie hugged you back and cried onto your shoulder.
“You’re going to be an amazing mom, Y/n,” Charlie said. “If you decide to raise it.”
“I want to have this baby with you, Char,” you spoke, voice barely above a whisper.
Charlie lifted his head from your shoulder and looked at you straight in the eyes. “Are you serious?”
“Yeah. Thank you for helping me realize that my childhood wasn’t my fault.”
“No, you realized that.”
“I couldn’t have done it without you, Charlie,” you said in appreciation.
“I’m just glad that you want to keep the baby,” Charlie said as he kneeled in front of you once again to kiss your stomach.
“I’m sorry about considering other options.”
Charlie looked up at you and said, “It’s okay to be scared, Y/n. Just know that I got you, alright?”
“Thank you. I love you so much,” You said as you kneeled down so you were on the floor with him.
“I love you, too,” He said and then kissed you gently.
“You’re an amazing husband,” you mumbled against his lips. “An already great father, too.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your POV
I was in the kitchen just chilling at the island while looking at my phone. While I was on my phone I heard Charlie yell for me...
" Come to the bedroom."
" Why?" I asked confused
" I need your help with something." he said back
I let out a little groan, but made my way to the bedroom where Charlie was sitting on a stool. I gave him a little look before making my way to stand in front of him.
" What do you need Char." I whispered
Charlie looked at me before pulling me into a big hug. I let out a small giggle.
" You okay bubba." I asked
I felt him nod his head before pulling away from the hug.
" Um, can you help me keep my phone from falling, so I can make a Tik Tok."
I smiled, nodded my head and moved over to set up his phone. I felt his eyes on me and I smirked. I turned around once I was done setting his phone up.
" Like what you see." I said in a teasing voice.
Charlie's POV
I was watching her carefully while she moved my phone around. I then heard her say,
" Like what you see." in a teasing tone.
I gave her a chuckle before pulling her closer to me by her waist. I saw her look down at me and then I gave her a quick kiss, before gently pushing her to the side. I took a quick glance at her before starting the timer. Once the timer hit the last number I started strumming my guitar and singing.
'She makes plans for the weekend,
Can't wait to go out,
Till she changes her mind,
And say's, "Let's stay on the couch and watch Tv."
She falls asleep.'
I then just strummed my guitar before singing the next lines.
'Beautiful, crazy,
She can't help but amaze me,
The way that she dances,
Ain't afraid to take chances,
And wears her heart on her sleeve,
Yeah, she's crazy,
But her crazy's beautiful to me.'
Your POV
I made myself comfortable on Charlie's bed while listening to him sing one of my favorite country songs that he sings.
' She's makes plans for the weekend,
Can't wait to go out,
Till she changes her mind,
And say's " Let's stay in and watch Tv"
And she falls asleep.'
While I was listening to him I pulled my legs up to my chest and rested my head on my arms. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes I tried to stay strong so I wouldn't ruin his video.
' Beautiful, crazy,
She can't help but amaze me,
The way that she dances,
Ain't afraid to take chances,
And wears her heart on her sleeve,
Yeah, she's crazy,
But her crazy's beautiful to me.'
I could feel my tears falling down my face right now. I then buried my face into my arms. I heard Charlie put his guitar down and the his footsteps walking up to me.
" Y/n/n?" he asked concerned
I picked my head up to find Charlie at my eye level. His face dropped when he saw the tears falling down my face. He grabbed my face gently in his hands and proceeded to rub his thumbs over my cheeks to get rid of the tears.
" What's wrong my little angel?" he said
I gave him a small pout, " You just sounded so good, but also you looked so sad singing the song."
Charlie's POV
I saw Y/n/n with her face buried into her arms so I carefully made my way over to her. I got down to her level and said...
" Y/n/n?"
She slowly picked her head up and my face dropped to find her face all puffy and tears running down her beautiful face. I gently grabbed her face in my hands and used the pad of my thumbs to wipe the tears that were falling down.
" What's wrong my little angel?" I asked
She gave me a small pout and said, " You just sounded so good, but also you looked so sad singing the song."
My heart broke when those words came out go her mouth but I then looked at her before wrapping my arms around her and pulled her into my lap. I then pressed little kisses to her head,  and grabbed her face to press kisses all over. I eventually heard little giggles from me kissing her face. I smiled at her before saying...
" Angle, you are the best thing that's happened to me."
She gave me a smile and leaned into give me a long passionate kiss. She then pulled away, but kept her forehead on mine.
" Char, your my happy place. You are there when I need help or when I feel down."
I gave her a small pout.
" Aw Y/n/n. Your my happy place too. I love you so much. I hope tp still be able to help you with everything and anything for as long as we are living."
I then leaned into the small amount to give her another kiss.
Your POV
I smiled into the kiss and then pulled away from his lips.
" Char." I whispered
He gave me a look to continue my statement.
" Can you sing the song again?"
He looked at me and then said...
" But you started crying when I was singing it for my Tik Tok."
I gave him a pout,
" Please Char." I begged him
He then let out a sigh. He made a motion telling to get up from his lap. I stood up then sat back on his bed watching him grab his guitar. He started strumming his guitar while making his way back over to me. I smiled when he started singing the lyrics.
' Her day starts with a coffee,
And ends with a wine,
Takes forever gettin' ready,
So she's never on time for anything'
He takes a pause to strum before picking up the lyrics again..
' When she gets that come-get-me look in her eyes,
Well, it kinda scares me,
The way that she drives me wild,
And she drives me wild,
Beautiful crazy.'
'Time Skip'
' She's crazy,
She's crazy,
But her crazy's beautiful to me,
Her crazy's beautiful to me.'
When he strums his last string I get up and walk up to him and give him a long meaningful, passionate kiss. I could feel him smile into the kiss.
"I..love..you..Char." I said in between kisses.
" I..love...you..more...Y/n/n." he said while taking small breaks in between the kisses.
We both pull away at the same time and smiled before lying down together.
