Interactive kiosks are more than just a technological novelty—they are powerful tools for enhancing customer engagement. By integrating touchscreens, QR codes, and even AR/VR experiences, businesses can offer customers a personalized, informative, and engaging experience that traditional kiosks simply cannot provide.
Touchscreens
Touchscreen kiosks are one of the most common forms of interactive kiosks and offer a user-friendly interface for customers to browse products, place orders, or access information. This functionality allows for a highly customizable experience, enabling businesses to design user interfaces tailored to specific needs. For example, retail kiosk manufacturers in Dubai often design touchscreens that integrate seamlessly with product catalogs, giving customers access to real-time inventory, detailed product descriptions, and personalized recommendations.
QR Codes
QR codes are another useful addition to interactive kiosks. They offer a simple, contactless way for customers to interact with the kiosk by scanning codes for additional content, promotions, or digital receipts. By including QR codes in kiosks, businesses can bridge the gap between physical and digital spaces, offering customers a way to take the interaction with them beyond the kiosk. It’s a perfect solution for limited-space environments, where customers might need to scan codes to get further product details or access discount offers.
AR/VR Experiences
For a more immersive experience, businesses are turning to AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) technologies. AR and VR can take customer engagement to the next level, particularly in industries such as fashion, beauty, and entertainment. Imagine a customer being able to try on clothes virtually via an AR kiosk or immerse themselves in a virtual tour of a new hotel or travel destination through VR. These technologies help to enhance the emotional connection a customer feels with a brand and can significantly boost sales by providing an unforgettable experience.
Balancing Digital Functionality with Aesthetic Appeal
While interactive features are essential for customer engagement, they must be carefully integrated into the kiosk’s overall design to maintain a balance between functionality and aesthetics. A digital kiosk needs to not only be functional but also visually appealing and aligned with the brand’s identity.
Design Harmony
When working with mall kiosk manufacturers in UAE, designers need to consider how the digital features will fit within the physical space. The design should be sleek and modern, but also cohesive with the brand’s look and feel. For example, a digital kiosk in a high-end retail space should have a sophisticated design, with clean lines, high-quality finishes, and intuitive technology. A cluttered or overly technological design can turn customers off and detract from the brand’s image.
Integration of Tech with Interior Design
A well-designed interactive kiosk seamlessly integrates tech elements with the rest of the kiosk’s interior features. For example, the screen should be framed by sleek materials that complement the surrounding design, such as polished wood, metal, or high-end plastics. Furthermore, the placement of screens should not dominate the space but rather flow naturally with the layout of the kiosk. Lighting, finishes, and product displays must be carefully considered to enhance the digital experience without overwhelming the customer.
Challenges of Combining Tech-Heavy Features with Compact Spaces
One of the biggest challenges in designing interactive kiosks is the spatial constraint. Many kiosks are located in crowded, high-traffic areas, such as shopping malls, airports, or trade shows, where space is limited. This can make it difficult to incorporate large interactive screens, sophisticated AR/VR technology, and even QR code scanners without overcrowding the space.
Compact Design Solutions
To overcome these challenges, designers often turn to modular, flexible kiosk designs that maximize the use of space while accommodating advanced tech. Modular kiosks allow for easy adjustments and expansions as needed, offering businesses the ability to modify their kiosk based on location or event type. For example, kiosk manufacturers in Dubai may design kiosks with removable panels or adjustable screens, allowing for a customized and scalable setup in smaller spaces.
Connectivity and Power Considerations
Interactive kiosks also require reliable power sources and internet connectivity, especially when integrating advanced features like AR/VR. This means that kiosk designs must incorporate discreet but easily accessible cable management solutions, as well as powerful systems capable of supporting the digital features without compromising on performance.
Real-Life Examples of Interactive Kiosks Boosting Engagement
Several brands have successfully used interactive kiosks to significantly boost customer engagement. A great example is the use of virtual try-on kiosks in the beauty and fashion industries. Beauty brands like Sephora have implemented AR kiosks in-store that allow customers to try on makeup virtually, leading to a much more engaging and interactive shopping experience.
Similarly, in the travel industry, airports around the world have started incorporating VR kiosks that offer virtual tours of destinations or allow travelers to explore amenities in an immersive environment before making decisions. These innovations have proven to be an effective way of keeping customers engaged and creating memorable experiences that drive sales and loyalty.
Conclusion
The integration of interactive technology into kiosk design offers businesses an exciting opportunity to engage customers in innovative ways. By combining touchscreens, QR codes, and AR/VR features, companies can create highly interactive and personalized experiences. However, the challenge remains in maintaining a balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal, especially in compact spaces. By carefully planning the design and working with experienced mall kiosk manufacturers in UAE, businesses can ensure their kiosks serve as both technological hubs and aesthetically pleasing brand ambassadors.
With digital experiences becoming increasingly important, how can your business leverage interactive kiosks to create more engaging customer interactions?

Augmented Reality (AR) in Retail Market: Transforming Shopping Experiences with Immersive Technology
Augmented Reality (AR) in retail market is rapidly reshaping the landscape of retail, enabling businesses to offer more immersive, engaging, and personalized experiences for consumers. As AR technology continues to evolve, its impact on the retail industry becomes increasingly evident, revolutionizing how consumers shop and how businesses interact with them. By integrating digital elements into the physical world, AR bridges the gap between online and offline shopping, offering enhanced opportunities for both consumers and retailers. This article explores the various ways in which AR is driving growth and innovation in the retail market.

The Growing Role of AR in Retail
The retail sector is increasingly embracing AR as a tool for innovation, as it helps create memorable and interactive shopping experiences. By overlaying virtual elements such as images, videos, and sounds onto the real world through smartphones, tablets, or AR glasses, businesses can enhance the way customers interact with products. This technology is enabling retailers to engage consumers in ways that were once unimaginable, providing a more personalized and immersive shopping experience.
AR technology in retail spans a wide range of applications. For example, it allows customers to visualize how furniture or home decor will look in their homes before making a purchase. Retailers in the fashion industry use AR to enable shoppers to try on clothes or accessories virtually, giving them a better sense of how the items will look on them. Cosmetic brands have embraced AR with virtual makeup try-ons, where customers can see how different products will look on their skin tone without ever needing to visit a store. These experiences help bridge the gap between online and in-store shopping, enhancing convenience and reducing the risk of post-purchase dissatisfaction.
Enhancing the Customer Experience
The primary driver behind the adoption of AR in retail is the desire to enhance the customer experience. AR enables retailers to create more personalized, engaging, and interactive environments that cater to the unique preferences and needs of individual consumers. By incorporating AR into their shopping experience, retailers can help customers make more informed decisions, thus increasing satisfaction and reducing the likelihood of returns.
For example, AR-based apps can recommend products based on a user’s browsing history or preferences, delivering a more tailored shopping experience. Some retailers have even introduced AR-enabled mirrors that allow customers to see how clothes or makeup products will look on them without physically trying them on. This not only saves time but also provides a more accurate representation of the product’s fit and appearance.
AR also enables retailers to implement gamification techniques, turning shopping into a fun and interactive experience. For example, some retailers use AR to create scavenger hunts or promotional games within their stores, offering customers rewards or discounts for participating. This type of engagement not only keeps customers entertained but also encourages them to explore more of the store’s offerings.
AR and E-Commerce
While AR has traditionally been associated with brick-and-mortar stores, its integration into e-commerce has proven to be equally transformative. AR can help overcome the common challenges faced by online shoppers, such as the inability to physically interact with products before purchase. By enabling virtual try-ons and product visualizations, AR helps online consumers make better purchasing decisions and reduces the chances of dissatisfaction after the sale.
For example, online furniture retailers use AR to let customers visualize how a piece of furniture will look in their homes before buying. Similarly, AR can help online shoppers determine the right size or fit for clothing, ensuring that they choose the most suitable product for their needs. This can significantly reduce the number of returns, which is a common pain point for e-commerce businesses.
Incorporating AR into online shopping platforms also allows retailers to create unique and immersive experiences that set them apart from competitors. By offering virtual try-ons, interactive product demos, and augmented product details, e-commerce businesses can stand out and attract more customers.
Retailers Leveraging AR Technology
Several retailers have already embraced AR technology, and its adoption is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. Companies like IKEA, L’Oreal, Sephora, and Nike have been early adopters, leveraging AR to provide customers with innovative ways to interact with their products.
IKEA’s AR app, for example, allows customers to place virtual furniture in their homes to visualize how the items would fit and look within their space. Similarly, Sephora’s Virtual Artist app lets customers try on makeup virtually, helping them choose the right shades and products for their skin tone. Nike has developed an AR experience for its customers to try on shoes virtually, giving them a feel for the product before making a purchase.
These examples highlight the versatility of AR in the retail market and demonstrate how the technology can be applied across different sectors to drive customer engagement and sales.
Future Trends and Opportunities
As AR technology continues to advance, its potential in retail will expand even further. The future of AR in retail holds exciting possibilities, including the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to offer even more personalized experiences. For instance, AR and AI can combine to create virtual shopping assistants that help customers find products based on their preferences and needs.
Additionally, the development of AR glasses and other wearable technologies will likely bring AR experiences to a whole new level. Retailers could provide customers with hands-free AR experiences, enabling them to interact with products in real-time while shopping without needing a smartphone or tablet.
Conclusion
The integration of AR in the retail market is reshaping the industry, offering a range of opportunities for both consumers and businesses. By enhancing the shopping experience, improving customer satisfaction, and creating more interactive environments, AR technology is helping retailers stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market. As AR continues to develop, its impact on the retail sector will only increase, offering even more innovative ways to engage customers and drive sales. As a result, retailers that adopt AR early and effectively will position themselves as leaders in a future dominated by digital and immersive experiences.

Top Trends in Customised T-Shirts for 2025
by makemytees
Customised t-shirts have long been a staple in the world of fashion and branding, offering a canvas for self-expression, creativity, and individuality. In 2025, this trend is not only alive but evolving with new technology, cultural shifts, and a rising demand for sustainability and personalization. Whether you're a fashion enthusiast, a business owner looking to promote your brand, or a creative soul wanting to wear your story, here's what you can expect in the customised t-shirt scene this year.
1. AI-Powered Personalisation
Artificial Intelligence has taken over almost every industry, and fashion is no exception. In 2025, custom t-shirt platforms are integrating AI tools that allow customers to generate unique designs based on prompts, personal preferences, or even moods. You can now describe an idea in plain language—like “sunset over a city with neon lights”—and AI will instantly generate artwork ready to be printed on a t-shirt. This is revolutionising the creative process, making design more accessible to those with no prior artistic background.
2. Eco-Friendly Materials and Printing
As consumers become increasingly eco-conscious, there's a growing demand for sustainable fashion choices. Custom t-shirts in 2025 are leaning heavily into this trend with the rise of organic cotton, bamboo fabric, and recycled materials. Additionally, many printing companies are switching to water-based inks and eco-friendly printing techniques that reduce waste and carbon emissions. Customers are now looking for transparency in sourcing and production, making ethical fashion a key selling point for custom apparel brands.
3. Augmented Reality (AR) Try-Ons
One of the most exciting developments is the use of Augmented Reality in the shopping experience. Now, customers can virtually "try on" customised t-shirts through their phones or AR mirrors, helping them visualise the fit, colour, and design placement before making a purchase. This technology is reducing return rates and increasing customer satisfaction, especially in the online shopping space where seeing the final product has always been a challenge.
4. Hyper-Personalised Typography and Messaging
Custom t-shirts have always been a way to make a statement, but 2025 is seeing a surge in hyper-personalised messaging. Instead of generic quotes or graphics, people are opting for inside jokes, local slang, favourite lyrics, or even AI-generated phrases tailored to their personality. Fonts are also evolving—from hand-drawn scripts to digital glitch effects—adding another layer of uniqueness to each piece.
5. Tech-Integrated T-Shirts
The concept of wearable tech is expanding. In 2025, customised t-shirts with embedded NFC chips or QR codes are becoming increasingly popular, especially for events, concerts, and promotional campaigns. With a simple scan, the t-shirt can link to a social profile, a digital portfolio, or exclusive content. Brands are using this as a way to turn clothing into an interactive experience, bridging the gap between fashion and technology.
6. Minimalist and Aesthetic-Driven Designs
While some trends lean towards bold and expressive, there’s also a strong movement towards minimalist design. Clean lines, simple colour palettes, and subtle placement of designs are taking over, especially in streetwear-inspired custom tees. The aesthetic is clean but thoughtful—perfect for everyday wear and appealing to those who value subtlety over loud graphics.
7. Cultural and Local Influences
Globalisation has made the world more connected, but it’s also created a longing for cultural authenticity. In 2025, there's a strong emphasis on celebrating local culture through t-shirt designs—think indigenous patterns, hometown slogans, regional languages, and folklore-inspired artwork. Custom t-shirts are becoming a medium for cultural storytelling, helping preserve identity in a world that's becoming increasingly homogeneous.
8. Collaboration-Driven Collections
More and more brands are collaborating with artists, influencers, and even customers to launch limited edition customised t-shirt collections. These partnerships not only drive hype but also empower community engagement. In 2025, crowd-sourced designs and fan-submitted artwork are being printed and sold globally, blurring the line between creator and consumer. This trend is especially strong in niche communities like gaming, anime, or music fandoms.
9. Vintage-Inspired Prints with a Modern Twist
Retro is always in style, and in 2025, we’re seeing a revival of vintage t-shirt aesthetics—think 70s band tees, 90s grunge graphics, and early 2000s Y2K vibes—but with a modern spin. These designs are often reinterpreted using digital art techniques, glitch effects, or 3D textures, creating a nostalgic yet futuristic look. It’s the perfect blend of old and new.
10. Inclusive Sizing and Gender-Neutral Fits
Finally, inclusivity is no longer a bonus—it's a necessity. The best custom t-shirt brands in 2025 are embracing diverse body types and gender expressions, offering extended sizing and unisex fits that look great on everyone. This shift is not only about accessibility but also about letting people express themselves authentically, without the constraints of traditional sizing norms.
Final Thoughts
Customised t-shirts in 2025 are more than just garments—they're tools of self-expression, innovation, and change. With tech integration, sustainable materials, and a deep focus on individuality, this space is ripe with opportunity for creatives, brands, and conscious consumers alike.

Digitized dysmorphia
Snapchat, launched in 2011 by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown, revolutionized social media with its disappearing photos, encouraging spontaneous and authentic interactions (Aviv, 2024). This innovation set Snapchat apart, making it a major player in the social media landscape. One of Snapchat's groundbreaking features is its use of augmented reality (AR) technology. AR powers Snapchat's filters and interactive lenses, overlaying digital effects onto real-world images (UMATechnology, 2025). This technology uses facial detection tools to map out features and align virtual elements seamlessly.
Initially, Snapchat's AR filters were simple and playful, but they have evolved into powerful tools for influencers and brands. Today, AR filters shape digital aesthetics and influence social media trends, becoming integral to digital marketing (Barker, 2020).
The Filter Problem: When AR Defines Beauty Filters on social media subtly impose beauty standards by altering facial features to fit idealized aesthetics. Barker (2020) highlights how Snapchat’s filters, initially playful, now reinforce exclusionary beauty ideals by slimming jawlines, enlarging eyes, and smoothing skin. These changes often lighten skin tones and align with a narrow beauty definition, reinforcing societal biases (Barker, 2020). Over time, users internalize these standards, affecting self-perception and self-esteem.
The Psychological Effects of Beauty Algorithms Filters create unrealistic beauty expectations, imposing Eurocentric standards (Our Mental Health, 2024). "Snapchat dysmorphia" describes individuals seeking cosmetic procedures to resemble their filtered selfies, driven by a desire to match these idealized images (Our Mental Health, 2024). Medical professionals report an increase in patients requesting surgeries inspired by their digital appearance, further highlighting the deep psychological impact of AR filters (Warren, 2025).
Advertising and the Pushback Against One-Size-Fits-All Beauty
Brands use AR for personalized beauty experiences, allowing users to try makeup virtually and receive tailored recommendations, increasing engagement and trust (Sinai, 2023). Companies like L’Oréal and Sephora leverage AR to enhance consumer confidence in online purchases (Howley, 2021).
Conversely, Dove’s "Real Beauty" campaign challenges narrow beauty norms by featuring diverse women, promoting self-esteem and body positivity (Team TBH, 2024). Unlike social media’s algorithm-driven standards, campaigns like Dove’s celebrate authenticity, encouraging self-acceptance (Unilever, 2024). The contrast between digital perfection and real-world diversity highlights the need for a more inclusive approach to beauty.
As we explore AR filters, it's crucial to think critically about their impact on self-image. While these tools can be fun, they often promote narrow beauty standards that affect how we see ourselves. Embracing natural beauty and diversity is essential to counteract these algorithm-driven ideals.
