The cast of Easter Bonnet from 1991 (possibly) this is at the Palace Theatre! (X) Photo from Mike Cline‘s facebook This photo also features: Casey Nicholaw, Rob Ashford, John Ganun, Mike Cline, along with some others. At the time of this photo the Palace Theatre was doing the Will Roger Follies so it is possible Michael was a stand in for another actor for the Easter Bonnet competition because Michael was working on Miss Saigon at the time which he was notoriously known for leaving and working on other projects.

*Companion set with @behind-the-blow 's Best of Matt*
For #4, I present Matt opening BoM with Casey Nicholaw on the official reopening night last November😁🎭 First off, good lord...this man gets better with age, and I'm living for it!!🤩👏 And for him to say that he lost his faith that Broadway would never re-open because of the pandemic was pretty surprising to me. His evolution from being bored out of his mind watching Les Mis with Trey back in the '90s to Broadway advocate and connoisseur is just incredible! And the energy and love that Matt and Casey brought that night is something I'll never forget, and I feel so lucky I got to be a part of it!🤩
"I'm one of those people who thought this night might never happen. I was one of those people, I will say. I lost faith a few times. It's like, 'Is this really gonna happen? Are we really gonna do this? For New York City? For, you know, Broadway? For the, you know, the show? So, umm, I'd lost my faith. But this show's blessed."
*This was also the gif set I was referring to in this post😄 :

still talking about mean girls sorry!!(<- not sorry)
this is probably the only time i will ever say this about any movie musical. but ive seen the stage show and the new movie and i can definitely say i preferred the movie. it fixed so many of my problems with the musical and honestly the story just works better onscreen to me
#mean girls#PLEASE someone else whos seen both tell me your thoughts#honestly ive been into the show since the cast recording first released#(i have a crush on barrett wilbert weed. who doesnt)#and ive been iffy on a lot of the songs & there were a bunch of issues i had with it when i saw it live#but a lot of my problems either werent there or were less glaring in the movie#like i cant stand the full meet the plastics song but the fact that they only did reginas verse made it so much better#and the fact that renee is so fucking hot. my god. i still havent recovered#also hot take. sexy in general is kinda lame. but i had more fun with it in the movie than in the show#plus a lot of the dancing in the show seemed weirdly out of place to me. idk how to describe it#honestly i have that issue in general with casey nicholaw's choreography.. he just tries to do so much in every song#like the movie wasnt perfect and there were plenty of things that i liked in the musical more than the movie#(i did not like the song they replaced it roars with. it was bad)#but overall the movie was better to me#anyways uh my opinion may be partially influenced by the way i was baked while watching the movie. whos to say

i will get tired of talking about it eventually but what if i actually like ended it all guys it’s SO BAD MUSICAL THEATRE IS OVER ENDANGERED SPECIES THEY WANT US TO DIE THEY WANT ME PERSONALLY TO DIE
#the digital ensemble… cutting almost all the belting… ‘remixing’ EVERY song#like i had prepared for so much but i never expected them to just. rewrite every song so it isn’t a showtune. like#i see why they didn’t call it means girls the musical !#auli’i and jaquel i’m so sorry… like were you silent or were you silenced (routine slayers prevented from slaying)#apparently jeff richmond did this to his own songs? i couldn’t find any producer credits or anything. normally there’s an evil pop man#behind this kind of thing.#anyways. they disrespected me they disrespected my family they disrespected casey nicholaw they disrespected the art form of belting AND#they don’t seem to have used the opening theme at all? du na na na. na na. du na na na? na na?#original

Disney's Hercules will play London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane beginning summer 2025.
This would appear to be the Hamburg staging, with both director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw and choreographer Tanisha Scott returning to work on the London production.
The musical features a book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, music by Alan Menken, and lyrics by David Zippel.
I believe this is the first Disney musical since Mary Poppins to have a West End run without having first played Broadway. Whether Disney will give Hercules a Broadway run at all at this point remains to be seen.

BROADWAY SHOWS SET TO PERFORM AT THE MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE ON NOVEMBER 24, 2022:
Funny Girl
"This bittersweet comedy is the story of the indomitable Fanny Brice, a girl from the Lower East Side who dreamed of a life on the stage. Everyone told her she'd never be a star, but then something funny happened—she became one of the most beloved performers in history, shining brighter than the brightest lights of Broadway.
Featuring some of the most iconic songs in theatre history including “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” and “People,” Michael Mayer’s bold new production marks the first time Funny Girl will return to Broadway since its debut 58 years ago." - Playbill
Some Like it Hot
"The new musical comedy, based on the classic MGM film, has a book by Matthew López and Amber Ruffin, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman. The world premiere Broadway production will be directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw." - Playbill
A Beautiful Noise
"The story of the legendary Neil Diamond comes to life on stage in a gripping and uplifting new musical featuring his hit songs “Sweet Caroline”, “America”, and “Cracklin’ Rosie”. Directed by Tony Award® winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), choreographed by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett (Once, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), and written by four-time Academy Award® nominee Anthony McCarten (Bohemian Rhapsody, The Two Popes). Good times never seemed so good." - Playbill
The Lion King
"More than 110 million people around the world have experienced the awe-inspiring visual artistry, the unforgettable music and the uniquely theatrical storytelling of this Broadway spectacular – one of the most breathtaking and beloved productions ever to grace the stage. Winner of 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and based on the beloved 1994 Disney film, The Lion King brings together one of the most imaginative creative teams on Broadway. Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor brings to life a story filled with hope and adventure set against an amazing backdrop of stunning visuals." - Playbill

okay okay since y’all are begging (sarcastic) my Tony Award 2023 predictions (musicals)
Best Musical: Kimberly Akimbo Best Revival: Parade Best Score: Some Like It Hot Best Book: Shucked
(yes rare triple split for book, score, and musical!!) Best Actor in Musical: J Harrison Ghee (this one is tough) Best Actress: Victoria Clark (also tough!) Best Featured Actor: Alex Newell Best Featured Actress: Bonnie Mulligan Best Director: Michael Arden Best Choreographer: Casey Nicholaw Design ones I haven’t seen enough to guess. I hope they give & Juliet something (costumes??). Sweeney Todd gets sound design maybe? But yeah, I think lots of love spread around this year (because deserving as this was a really good season but also bonus affect of more shows being able to add “Tony Winner” to their marquee to get box office numbers up and what has been a slump since the pandemic) Who are y’all’s Tony picks? What performances are you looking forward to? I’m excited to see Into the Woods cast back together (in some extent) for their performance!
