Bomb Threats Rattle Metro Manila and Luzon Offices, Schools
It is known that an email from a certain Takahiro Karasawa, who claims to be a Japanese lawyer, stated that there are allegedly "high-performance bombs" set in Philippine government facilities, scheduled to detonate at exactly 3:34 PM yesterday
Japanese Lawyer Identified as Sole Source of Bomb Threats
Yesterday, at least seven government offices and two schools in Metro Manila, Bataan, and Zambales had operational disruptions due to bomb threats received via email and text messages. This was a startling turn of events.
The person posing as Takahiro Karasawa, a Japanese lawyer, is suspected of being the mastermind behind this recent flurry of threats. This is not the first time Karasawa has targeted government institutions.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) revealed that the same suspect was responsible for similar bomb threats in September and October of the previous year. Col. Jean Fajardo, Chief of the PNP Public Information Office, pointed out the concerning consistency in the delivery of threats through the same email address.
The list of targeted establishments reads like a roster of key government offices: the National Housing Authority, Commission on Audit, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippine Competition Commission, Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM), Department of Science and Technology in Bicutan, Taguig, Insurance Commission in Ermita, Manila, Panghulo Elementary School in Malabon, Pasig Elementary School in Barangay San Nicolas, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
"Precision teamwork in action: Explosive Ordnance Disposal and K-9 units meticulously inspecting all targeted facilities for enhanced security."
To ensure the safety of occupants, the affected offices swiftly implemented precautionary measures, including evacuations and thorough checks conducted by Explosive Ordnance Disposal and K-9 units.
PNP Chief Benjamin Acorda Jr. emphasized the seriousness of the threats at a news conference at Camp Bagong Diwa, as well as the continued cooperative efforts with foreign agencies to track down the suspect.
The supposed sender of one of the emails denied any involvement, saying his email had been hacked or his identity had been assumed, despite the fact that the email's origin had been properly located.
Despite the threats ultimately being determined as hoaxes, Acorda emphasized the importance of taking them seriously to prevent unnecessary disturbances, especially considering that some schools were forced to suspend classes. The motive behind the threats is suspected to be personal gain, creating chaos and disruptions.
Velasco did not name House members who supposedly received messages regarding an alleged bombing planned against the institution, but he says House Speaker Martin Romualdez was not among those threatened
In a significant move that coincided with the bomb threats, the US embassy sent the National Capital Region Police Office six P45 million Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robots.
In responding to bomb threats, Acorda emphasized the importance of these robots in reducing hazards.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla promptly ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
The unverified email account attributed to Karasawa declared that bombs would detonate at major Philippine government agencies on February 12 at around 3:34 p.m.
Along with the PNP and the management information systems staff of the impacted offices, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) is aggressively looking into the bomb threats.
A bomb threat that was ultimately found to be a fake was received by many authorities, including the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), according to Lucia Tangi, the CICC's public relations officer.
Anti-riot police walk near the south gate of the Batasan Complex in Quezon City yesterday as the House of Representatives is now under heightened security after several legislators reportedly received bomb threats.
The CICC statement states that while there isn't a need to be concerned just now, they are working to ask the Japanese government to look into the matter further and find out who sent the message.
Affected government agencies were encouraged to rehearse their emergency evacuation methods as part of emergency protocols in order to improve agency readiness generally.
Justice Secretary Remulla issued a stern warning, stating, "There should be no place for pranks or spreading fear among our people.Let this be a warning to those behind this that we will not tolerate such acts, and we will go after you with the full extent of the law.
As authorities work tirelessly to unmask the serial bomber, the community remains on edge, emphasizing the need for heightened security measures and public vigilance.-Skynews.com

Pigs, Politicians, and a Ton of Hypocrisy!
George Orwell’s Animal Farm is a timeless tale of animals rebelling against their master so that they can take over, and create an environment where all animals are free and equal. However, the farm ends up in a state worse than ever and the animal’s efforts and sacrifices are wasted, all thanks to the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon. Even though Orwell wrote Animal Farm to criticize Soviet Russia, the allegorical novel can still apply to modern politics. One can compare and say that the hypocrisy of the pigs is very similar to the hypocrisy of many modern politicians.
Hypocrisy, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is “feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not” (Merriam Webster, n.d.). However, one should remember that an inconsistency between a person’s words and deeds does not automatically make them a hypocrite. A hypocrite does not truly value morality, and they only do it to help themselves gain advantages/benefits or to excuse themselves (Rossi, 2020).
A similarity between the hypocrisy of the pigs and modern politicians is that they both set rules, but do not follow it themselves. There are many situations where the pigs find their way around the 7 Commandments of Animalism. One example is when the pigs slept on beds in the farmhouse, which violates the 4th Commandment which says that “No animal shall sleep in a bed” (Orwell, 1946, pg. 33). However, someone changed the rule to “No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets”, and Squealer -- a pig who was said to be a brilliant talker -- justified their actions by explaining that a bed was simply “a place to sleep in” and the rule was against sheets, which was a human invention, so the pigs removed the sheets from the beds (Orwell, 1946, p. 70). Similarly, the Philippines also has cases of politicians violating policies. For example the cases of PNP Chief Debold Sinas and Senator Koko Pimentel; who both violated quarantine protocols. Sinas had a birthday celebration on May 8th with dozens of fellow policemen in Camp Bagong Diwa without practicing any physical distancing; even though the PNP Chief claims otherwise (Baizas, 2020). Senator Koko Pimentel accompanied his pregnant wife to Makati Med, despite the fact that he tested positive for the coronavirus (Buan, 2020). Even though both politicians violated quarantine protocols, they were not given any due punishment (and just made more excuses to justify their actions).
Next, both the pigs and politicians do not support and oppose the actions and initiatives of other figures if they cannot gain anything from it. In Animal Farm, a pig named Snowball proposed that they should build a windmill to lessen the workload of the animals and make their lives easier. Napoleon went against this proposition and said that they should focus on doing other things (Orwell, 1946, pg. 54). Why did Napoleon go against Snowball’s suggestion? Like a traditional politician, he did not support it because he would not gain any benefits or credit from the idea. A recent scenario where someone opposed a fellow politician was when President Duterte made threats against Vice-President Robredo over her response to the typhoon victims. The entire issue started with their responses to Typhoon Rolly. When Typhoon Rolly was approaching Luzon, Duterte was in Davao and was absent in two meetings about the government response to the typhoon. The hashtag “#NasaanAngPangulo” became a trending topic on Twitter -- criticizing the president being absent during the typhoon -- by Sunday evening. Meanwhile, after 1:00pm on Monday, Leni Robredo arrived in Camarines Sur to assist the victims. Senator Bong Go told reporters that, while Robredo was in Camarines Sur, he and the president went to Albay instead (Patag, 2020). This issue between President Duterte and Vice-president Robredo carried over to the next response efforts, for Typhoon Ulysses. “#NasaanAngPangulo” became trending again during the days that Ulysses hit the islands. Duterte called Robredo “dishonest” for supposedly claiming that he did not do anything in helping the typhoon victims. The vice-president, on the other hand, never even said anything about the president. Duterte even made his own claims that Robredo did not even help in any of the typhoon response efforts. He warned her and said that “This is not a contest” (Ranada, 2020). In this situation, Duterte made threats against Robredo and opposed her because he was being outshined by her in the typhoon response efforts.
The last similarity between the pigs and some modern politicians is that both have had cases of graft and corruption. Corruption covers various acts of abuses, while graft is a form of corruption wherein government officials use public funds and resources for their own personal benefits (Angevine, 2018). Both the pigs and modern politicians are leaders that should be prioritizing the welfare of their people and yet, they use their power and authority for their own personal gain. Towards the end of Chapter 3, we see the pigs claiming more milk and apples for themselves. They tell the other animals that it is necessary for their health, because they spend their energy on using their brains and watching over the other animals (Orwell, 1946, pg. 42). Another case was when the pigs sold Boxer to a horse slaughterer for money, and used the money to buy more whiskey--for themselves, of course (Orwell, 1946, pg. 113-116). The Philippines has many cases of corruption among politicians. One of the most famous cases of corruption in the Philippines is that of ex-President Joseph Estrada. Estrada was found guilty on four counts of corruption; he received money from illegal gambling and taking commissions in the sale of shares of government pension funds. They cleared the other two charges of him using a bank account under a false name and of using tobacco taxes for himself (Mogato, 2007). An even larger case of graft in the Philippines is Senator Bong Revilla’s pork barrel scam. According to Rappler, the senator was “accused of funneling his pork barrel through bogus non-governmental organizations... allegedly earning P224.5 million in kickbacks (Evangelista, 2018).
The pigs in Animal Farm and modern politicians are very similar to each other because they both have had instances where they show acts of political hypocrisy. People value honesty and integrity from their leaders, and do not like hypocrisy. Modern leaders should prioritize the welfare and safety of their people, before their own personal agendas -- so that their people will not experience the same ordeals that the animals had to go through.

November 4, 2018 [CAMP WORSHIP SERVICE] - “Declaring the Glory of God” 1 Peter
Click KEEP READING to read the full sermon.
Introduction
We need to redeem our noble calling.
As a covenant people redeemed from darkness into the wonderful light, we are called to redeem our noble call and declare the glory of God. Entrusted in our bare hands are the inconceivable and incomparable wonders of God. Let the glorious light of God shine through us in this dark and sinful world.
Based from selected passages in the first epistle of Apostle Peter, let us examine the dominant themes why we need to declare the glory of God. We declare the glory of God because of our glorious heritage (1 Peter 2:9 and a parallel reference with Ephesians 1:3), our great salvation (1:3-5, 23-25), our steadfast joy (1:6-9), our godly transformation (1:13-17; 2:1-2) and our redemptive impact (2:21).
A. Our Glorious Heritage We glorify God because of our glorious spiritual heritage. 1 Peter 2:9; Ephesians 1:3
1. Apostle Peter declared the glorious inheritance of the church.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (2:9)
2. Apostle Paul testified of our glorious heavenly heritage.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who had blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Eph. 1:3)
B. Our Great Salvation We glorify God because of our great salvation in Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:3-5, 23-25
1. We are saved through the gospel of Christ.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you.” (1:3-5)
2. We are given new birth through the power of the Scriptures.
“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God (1:23)
C. Our Steadfast Joy We glorify God because of the reaffirming joy in our suffering. 1 Peter 1:6-9
1. We experience the joy of God in our sufferings for Christ.
“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” (1:6)
2. Our sufferings in Christ are meant to purify our souls.
“These have come so that your faith—of greater than worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” (1:7)
3. We endure suffering because of our devotion to Christ.
“Though you have not seen him, you love him; even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” (1:8-9)
D. Our Godly Transformation We glorify God because of the godly transformation in our lives. 1 Peter 1:13-17; 2:1-2
1. Godliness calls for total obedience to the will of God.
“As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.” (1:14)
2. Godliness calls for integrity in every aspect of our lives.
“But just as he who calls you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written, ‘Be holy because I am holy.” (1:15-16)
3. We grow toward spiritual maturity in obedience to the Scriptures.
“Like newborn babies, crave spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” (2:2-3)
E. Our Redemptive Impact We glorify God through the redemptive impact of our witness. 1 Peter 2:21
1. We follow Jesus’ footsteps in humble submission to the will of God.
“To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.” (2:21)
2. We are called to submit to every governing authority.
a. Submission to authorities in the society (2:13-14)
b. Submission to authorities in the family (2:18-19)
c. Submission to authorities in the church (5:1-6)
Conclusion
We have to redeem the essence of the rainbow. Likewise, we have to redeem our noble call as Christians. As a covenant people we declare the glory of God who called us from darkness into his wonderful light. We glorify God because of our glorious spiritual heritage. We glorify God because of our great salvation in Jesus Christ. We glorify God because of the reaffirming joy in our suffering. We glorify God because of the godly transformation in our lives. And we glorify God through the redemptive impact of our Christian witness. What does this mean to us as a people of God?
1. Our Glorious Heritage Do we manifest our rich spiritual heritage to people around us?
2. Our Great Salvation Do we share the good news of salvation in calling sinners to God?
3. Our Steadfast Joy Do we affirm our love for God despite all our pains in life?
4. Our Godly Transformation Do we cultivate intimacy with God so we become more like Christ?
5. Our Redemptive Impact Do we make a godly impact inside our home and in our society?
May God be ever glorified in our lives. Amen.

#PHnews: Over 5K military medical front-liners vaccinated so far
MANILA – At least 5,293 medical front-liners of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have been inoculated so far with the Sinovac Biotech's CoronaVac vaccines as many have responded to the call, AFP public affairs office chief Navy Capt. Jonathan Zata said on Monday.
Zata said the vaccinees came mostly from military treatment facilities (MTFs) in the National Capital Region (NCR) and the 4th Infantry Division in Cagayan De Oro.
"Mainly from the MTFs of the NCR and 4th Infantry Division. Other MTFs (from the Unified Command) will be starting today (Monday)," he said.
Vaccination of military health front-liners started on March 1, a day after the 600,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine donated by China arrived in the country.
The exact number of vaccinees per MTF is still being collated as of this time, Zata said.
MTFs located in Metro Manila include the Victoriano Luna Medical Center and the Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo Station Hospital, both in Quezon City; Manila Naval Hospital and the Philippine Army General Hospital, both in Taguig and the Philippine Air Force General Hospital in Pasay City.
On Sunday, Philippine Air Force (PAF) spokesperson Lt. Col. Maynard P. Mariano said the air force is committed to transporting the Covid-19 vaccines in different parts of the country.
“Rest assured, the PAF will be relentless in transporting vaccines as the government's workhorse and is one with the nation in the fight against Covid-19," he said.
The PAF delivered 5,260 vials of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines to Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on March 5 via a C-295 medium transport aircraft.
"Upon its arrival at Antonio Bautista Air Base, the vaccines were turned-over by Presidential Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea to Palawan Governor Jose Chaves Alvarez and subsequently to DOH (Department of Health) Palawan Representative Dr. Peter Cumareng," Mariano said.
He said the vaccines will be administered to the medical health front-liners of various hospitals in Palawan.
Police health front-liners
Meanwhile, all police health front-liners in Metro Manila have been vaccinated with CoronaVac vaccines, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Debold Sinas said Monday.
In a media interview, Sinas said the PNP received 1,400 for its police health workers in NCR.
He said the medical front-liners are from the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon, and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig.
He said they are still waiting for the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Diseases’ (IATF-EID) guidance if the PNP will also be given allocation from the 525,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines that arrived in two batches through the COVAX Facility on March 4 and 7.
"Wala pa sila guidance as to the AstraZeneca. We are waiting, baka within this week baka mabigyan na po kami. There is still no guidance as to the AstraZeneca. We are waiting, hopefully this week we will be given. Again the instructions of the IATF is to vaccine first those in the priority list including us)," he added.
Sinas said other Police Regional Offices like Davao and Calabarzon have also started the vaccination rollout for their health workers.
“Hopefully we could reach 80 to 90 percent and marami naman pong mga tao namin ang nagrerespond and we are waiting from the government kung sino po ang bibigyan. (many of our men are responding and we are waiting from the government if who will be vaccinated next),” Sinas said. (With reports from Lloyd Caliwan/PNA)

HS classmate siya ng boss ko. and every 9 pm theyve been gathering to pray for her.
TOP MOST WANTED PERSON sa Bulacan?? eh pumapasok daw yon sa office sa QC (currently working as coordinator for Philippine Against Child Trafficking)
I even asked my boss if active din si Ms. Sally sa pagsali sa activities ng group nila. and oo daw, kapag may reunions, present sya.
ewan ko hah. wala akong alam sa ganito pero basic info lang yun, ang kalat naman kung ganyan intelligence report nila?? ganyan ilalabas nilang statement?? is this a case of mistaken identity?? or do they really have a lead on her?? pero yung "nagtatago" part palang ang ??? na. I hope things would go well with this case.

Facing verdict are 101 out of a total 197 accused charged with 58 counts of murder, 1 for every person killed in the November 23, 2009 massacre. 58 people, including 32 media practitioners were killed and most of them were part of the convoy who were on their way to Comelec Provincial Office in Shariff Aguak town to file the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) of then Vice Mayor Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu. Gov’t Deports 312 Chinese Nationals After Telecom Fraud
THE GOVERNMENT was set to deport yesterday 312 Chinese nationals who got arrested last month for telecommunication fraud, the Bureau of Immigration said in a statement. The Chinese were part of 512 foreigners arrested in an Oct. 9 raid of a business process outsourcing office in Pasay City. The company was allegedly involved in scams. Twenty-one 21 minors would also be deported along with the 312 Chinese nationals, the bureau said.
China had canceled the passports of the deported Chinese, which makes them undocumented aliens, it added. Police last month said that of those arrested, 418 were Chinese, 44 were from Myanmar, 26 were Malaysians, 19 were Vietnamese, four were Taiwanese and one was Indonesian.
Initial investigations showed the foreigners were involved in offshore telecommunication investment fraud that lured foreigners to invest in different businesses. The Chinese were to be deported via five chartered China Eastern flights to Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province and Changchun, Jilin province.
Police held some more foreigners in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City and will move them to the bureau’s warden facility pending their deportation, the agency said.
“Let this serve as a warning to aliens planning to use the country as a base for their illegal operations,” Immigration Commissioner Jaime H. Morente said in the statement. “Expect more arrests in the coming days.”

PNP starts cops' training on use of body cameras
#PHnews: PNP starts cops' training on use of body cameras
MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday started its training on the use of body cameras for police officers as part of efforts to ensure accountability in law enforcement operations.
Members of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) were the first to undergo training at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.
PNP Director for Logistics, Maj. Gen. Angelito Casimiro said each police station would be given 16 body cameras, eight of which will be used by patrolling operatives while the remaining eight will be reserved for other operations.
These will also be equipped with SIM cards that would be used to feed videos to the PNP Command Center.
The body cameras are waterproof and can record video for up to eight hours. The officers wearing them cannot interfere with its configuration and they cannot turn these off until they go off duty.
Casimiro said this proves that technological breakthroughs are helpful in the police force's conduct of its programs and projects.
"The DL (Directorate for Logistics) has been active in advancing its logistical programs and projects to support the operations and administration of the PNP we should not be immobilized by the fear of this pandemic but instead we should endure and overcome as one," Casimiro told reporters.
"We in the DL firmly believe that as time progressed, we should also advance with our means and methods on how to better serve the public and the country's national police force," he said.
He added that body-worn camera systems are very crucial in police operations because it improves evidence collection and preservation.
"Also, it enhances police transparency and legitimacy as well as civility of police citizen encounters, which create a huge impact on our policing and in the criminal justice system as a whole," he said.
The PNP has acquired around 2,696 body-worn cameras and their associated systems from San Juan City-based EVI Distribution Inc.
The body cameras are set to be distributed to all police stations nationwide by the end of March and can be used by police officers starting April. (PNA)

Duterte sends off 250 new BJMP transport vehicles
CAMP GENERAL VICENTE LIM, Calamba City -- President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday afternoon led here the send off ceremony for some 250 brand new transport vehicles of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) to the country’s various district, city and town jails.
Lined up at the sprawling grandstand grounds, the 250 BJMP transport vehicles were considered the biggest acquisition in the bureau’s history following the President’s directive to procure them when he allotted some PHP299 million for the total 322 vehicles in December.
Seventy two units were earlier dispatched to the various regional recipients out of necessity for their use in transporting Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), an appropriate term than the usual reference for prisoner, inmate or detainee, according to a jail management official.
In his remarks at the turnover rites at the camp grandstand, BJMP Chief Jail Director Deogracias C. Tapayan said the President’s budgetary allocation enabled the bureau to acquire in just one procurement, more than the total number of vehicles purchased for the past two decades.
“This is a testament of the President’s sincere desire to address the needs of the people in the most expeditious and efficient way possible,” Tapayan said, citing “the President (does) not just do the talk, but (does) walk the talk.”
He thanked the President for the approval of the BJMP’s budget of around PHP3.4 billion for the construction of 107 jail buildings in 17 regions nationwide to address the perennial problem of jail overcrowding.
He noted that it is during the Duterte Administration that the BJMP uniformed personnel’s pay doubled, which “used to be a remote possibility, but has now become a much celebrated actuality".
“Mr. President, as father of this Bureau, I stand before you - the father of this entire nation - to express our sincerest appreciation to all that you have done for the welfare of our people,” Tapayan said.
He also committed the Bureau’s wholehearted support to the President’s fight against drugs, corruption and violent extremism as 332 BJMP jails or some 80 percent of all jails nationwide have already been certified by PDEA and PNP as drug-free.
Tapayan also assured the Chief Executive the potentials of the Bureau with the new developments taking place and that “change has come” with these vehicles.
“With your (the President’s) help, we can move people, more importantly transport development, we could change lives, we could build a safer nation,” he stressed.
BJMP officials said the support from the national government helps address not only the congestion in the country’s jails but also eases mobility of BJMP personnel and the PDLs in district, city and municipal detention facilities.
According to the officials, the Bureau has been beset with the challenge of transporting the PDLs during court hearings as they encounter difficulties especially on jails located in islands and situated in far-flung areas just to bring PDLs to attend court hearings.
“Not all jails have their own vehicles and the BJMP concerns then need at least 1,232 transport vehicles yet we only have existing 357 units or a variance of around 875,” they said.
Under the recent procurement, each jail is now assured of transport vehicle for court hearings.
Of the newly acquired 250 BJMP transport vehicles which they used to call as “prisoners vans”, the Calabarzon Region (Region 4-A) gets 36 units, the highest among regional recipients which could address the region’s concerns for having the highest number of congested jails in the country, disclosed a BJMP official in an interview.
Other regional recipients with the number of vehicles include: Region 1 – 12 vehicles; Region 2 – nine; Region 3 – 27; MIMAROPA – eight; Region 5 -13; Region 6 – 21; Region 7 – 15; Region 8 – 12; Region 9 – 14; Region 10 – 16; Region 11 – seven; Region 12 – eight; Region 13 – 10; ARMM – 5; CAR – 10; NCR – 26; and National Headquarters – 1.
It was during Duterte’s visit to the BJMP facilities inside Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City in October last year when the President took time to talk to jail personnel and conducted site inspections of the facilities.
The visit, according to BJMP officials, paved the way for the grant of additional vehicles. (PNA)
