The old one has been completely scrapped. I did not like it. It's still in my Google Docs if anyone wants to just be able to reread it but the plot is set up completely different now.

I'm so glad I finally like where I have TSIAD, I've been so ready for it to be out... and here it is. Uh... 4 years later, technically. Chapter 1 only, of course.

The irony about genlock 2 is that it kinda ultimately loops back around to Gray doing it to himself

If he hadn’t decided to do that shit he did (allegedly and all that), he could’ve had full creative control and a hot series on HBO max. whatever you say about the man it’s clear that he knew what he wanted that show to be, what themes he wanted to pursue, etc

but instead he tried to speedrun through the success that Monty got and now he’s gotta sit back as his baby gets essentially gutted to become a less charming, way grosser copy of itself

OKAY BUT LIKE

Team Genlock finally get their own rooms at RTASA and it takes Cammie 3 months to sleep in her own bed on her own after everything that happens.

Val lets her cuddle up for comfort. Kazu makes her sleep at the other end of his bed but lets her keep like a foot or something on his back so she knows he's still there. Yaz has her drag her mattress into her room because Cammie sleeps like a starfish but won't fall asleep until she does. If she goes to Migas the team finds them passed out on the floor with their ether goggles on in the morning. If she's not in someone else's room, the others are in hers making sure she's fine. Everyone keeps their doors open for the first couple months in case Cammie needs them, and she's careful not to wake the same person too many times in a row so everyone still gets decent sleep.

When Cammie finally goes to sleep on her own and doesn't wake any of them up, they almost cry with how happy they are that Cammie's getting better

Art done for a scene I wrote for something that I haven’t published yet, excerpt of the text under the cut, but the important thing to know is that Kazu is angrily signing ‘rabbit’ because it’s part of Cammie’s sign name and she just made a bad kazoo joke.

Sign? he mouths. Her raised brow becomes furrowed brows; he doesn’t know any sign, what does he— Teach me?

The oh is visible on Cammie’s face, and she sits up as she raises her hands.

She points at her own chest and then holds up one hand, palm facing the open space to the opposite side, and pushes an extended finger along the palm towards the front of the bed. ‘I’ll try,’ the signs say, and she mouths it at the same time.

Kazu nods, then starts looking around the room. First, he points at Nugget, who stowed away on Cammie’s shoulder when he picked her up, and mouths robot. It’s rather relevant to their line of work, after all.

Cammie snickers quietly and shows him the sign—mimicking robotic movements with her arms. He bites back his own laugh and mouths really? and yes, really, she repeats the motion to emphasise just how really it is. Sometimes signs are just that self-explanatory. 

Kazu mimics it in turn and it’s Cammie’s turn to try not to laugh, because somehow it’s funnier when he does it, big tough Kazu doing the robot, and then he’s pointing at the other two beds. Names?

Cammie’s fingers flash through the signs for each letter so fast Kazu doesn’t manage to keep up, the first time, even with names as short as Val, Yaz, Kazu, Chase and Cammie. So she repeats them again, shows him each letter sign for a couple of seconds and lets him repeat it back at her before moving on.

But, she mouths, signing as she does, more fun is—

She signs the sign for ‘chase’, the verb: two pointed fingers wiggling out into the space in front of her. Then, she signs the fingerspell version again to get the point across.

Next is the letter V followed by the sign for dance: two fingers out, her hands being shaken in front of her chest. Val. Kazu looks particularly amused by that one, his gaze flicking past her to the sleeping form on the bed beneath hers.

Her own name is signed as C and rabbit: both hands miming rabbit ears up at the top of her head. Yaz is signed as Y and bird: the index finger being closed against the thumb, up by her mouth, like a chattering beak. And Kazu— well, there’s a certain glint in her eye, if you know her well enough to spot it, that’s followed by her miming a kazoo.

It takes Kazu just a second, brow furrowing as he waits for her to explain what the sign is before it clicks and in an instant his expression shifts to comically annoyed. He opens his mouth to protest and only catches himself at the last second, an aborted sound still making it up his throat.

Cammie’s shoulders start shaking and she has to cover her mouth to stop herself laughing out loud. Looking at his face does nothing to help matters, especially when he signs her own sign name back at her with indignant gestures.

It takes a good minute to compose herself enough to shake her head and cross her hands in front of her a few times—not really, Kazu. She signs K and egg, both mouthing and fingerspelling to get the point across.

Immediately, Kazu’s expression softens again, though he rolls his eyes and pulls her in to give her a noogie that she fails not to start laughing at—but if she wakes either of the others, well, no one complains.

friend I am having to restrain myself a little bit because your muse list is just. a smörgåsbord. OKAY HERE WE GO.

STARFIRE / M'GANN M'ORZZ & ROGUE : SUPERHERO GAL FRIENDS !! I love Starfire and M'gann and I feel like either one of them would get along with Rogue fairly well. They understand the struggles of being way too powerful, but they also have a positivity and love for life that could really stand to rub off on Rogue. She doesn't necessarily have a dedicated DC crossover, but the universes blend well enough. uwu

HONEY LEMON & CAMERON MACCLOUD : Science girlies. Honey Lemon is so incredibly smart, and Cammie is considered a prodigy in her field. I feel like crossing Cammie into the BH6 universe would be so easy, and she's just a little computer coding nerd. Her hobby is hacking government agencies and transferring funds from billionaires to people who need it.

WILLOW PARK / PACIFICA NORTHWEST / STAR BUTTERFLY & AMITY BLIGHT : okay, the Willow connection is obvious so I'm gonna not harp on about that one for too long but I love their friendship, it means so much to me gdi. NOW. Pacifica and Amity? Two rich girls from emotionally abusive homes who had to learn how to be nice because it didn't come naturally but gosh darn if those weird new friends didn't turn their lives around? These two have so much to bond over and I scream about it from the rooftops. AS FOR STAR : Mal and I have an AU for Tom where he and Amity were friends across dimensions due to family exposure. I think it makes perfect sense in that universe for Amity and Star to know one another! ( and honestly, these three muses would also suit any of my other Owl House muses as well but this was where I had ideas. )

BLOOM & ICY : look, is she back on the blog yet? No. Is she coming? Yes. And so am I. To harass you. That's about what I have as far as these two go. >3

IRIS OF EPHEDIA & PRAXINA : same deal as above, a muse I previously had on this blog that I'm restoring back onto it. I love Praxina with my whole chest. Obviously the whole "I'm coming to ruin your life" angle works, but she also has an AU where she's trying to be good and both of these are just brainrot for me.
