Sometimes family is a bunch of woke nuns; a revolving door of midwives that includes a give-no-fucks spinster and her give-no-fucks administrator sapphic situationship, an unlucky in love bisexual disaster and her gay brother and an Irish baddie and her bastard child; an ex-nun turned midwife, her doctor husband and their 4 children, one of who is a doctor in training who somehow completely recovered from polio with no lingering difficulties; the nuns’ and midwives’ handyman, his mayor/haberdasher wife and their adoptive son and the social worker ex-husband of one of the ex-midwives who lives above the haberdashery with his cat

I knew how to make him better. And there are only two things that could do that. Me. And a bottle of Scotch. I became a nurse. And a midwife. I was needed. And I needed them. Because every time I delivered a baby… .. I was right in the heart of a happy family for one or two hours. No matter that I always have to go home on my own. Narrator: In Autumn, all souls feel the rot but the rot allows flowers to grow and spring will come again. The war absolutely hollowed out communities but also there was jam. Harrowing music begins as we watch an unwed teen mother/ man addicted to meth/ victim of some sort of domestic horror/ woman with pre-ecclampsia

Nurse Crane: There you go lass

Harrowing storyline is briefly featured again but also there's a pregnant dog in Nonnatus House.

Dr Turner: Let's give her Pethidine, also I'm progressive about (insert topical issue here)

Sister Julienne: Nonnatus House is a metaphor for the morals of this country and that's why we're going to the dogs

Random Nurse: Actually sister Julienne I think we should teach teenagers about contraception

Sister Monica Joan: We simply must have compline now

Compline and the harrowing storyline (which has now reached its apex through either a harrowing birth scene or some other medical procedure) are now interspersed in a way that is troublingly close to saying suffering is fine actually because Jesus.

Sheelagh: Oh Patrick

The harrowing storyline is now resolved, often with some more voiceover that references the vagaries of the turning world

Trixie: Matthew, I have solved it. And I have put on rouge. I can have it all except a consistent haircut.

Fred: The dog's had puppies, and this will save Nonnatus house.

Narrator: In the worst and dank places, in the creeping dread of the dark soil and the night loam, even as the rotting leaves seep in, there too is love and life. Also someone had a revelation. The end.

There is nothing more gratifying than having a friend watch a tv show you recommended. Of all of life’s simple pleasures, it’s my favorite. I’m also good at it ?? It’s very easy for me to convince someone to watch a tv show I like ?? And yeah, I know it makes sense that people I’m friends with would like the same things as me but, it isn’t just close friends either. I talked up WandaVision to a coworker I just met last week and she started it the next day.

I just love talking about tv and analyzing shows with people. I could talk about tv anytime with anyone. I have no idea why but, people listen ! I have one (1) superpower.
