“Do we need to a have a radio in every vehicle? I don’t know. Do we need to have one radio per team? Or is it one radio per squad?” Daiyaan said at the 22nd annual C4ISRNET Conference. “We are looking at that, and looking at those things hard.” Col. Shermoan Daiyaan Col. Shermoan Daiyaan, have you ever done anything beyond project work? I mean looking at your bio it seems like you were a very typical Commo officer with a somewhat typical career so for you to make that retarded statement is stunning. Nice Bronze Start by the way, nothing quite like rank based awards on deployments. Ground troops need, 3 things to make battlefield conditions survivable. 1. They have to be able to effetely move in their battlespace, know what other units and assets are available in a battlespace and have the equipment necessary to conduct sustained combat operations in those spaces. 2. They must have the overwhelming firepower at their disposal that allows them to win engagements with the least amounts of casualties and equipment loss to still be able to function as organic combat units. That means being able to call in Artillery, Air Assets, follow on support, resupply and reinforcements and medical evacuation assets. 3. They have to be able to communicate with their subordinate units, their upper echelon commands side units and use those communications to coordinate EVERYTHING happening in their battlespace. Without the ability for units in the field to be able to coordinate in real time to get all those things mentioned above lined up as fast and efficiently as possible you're just killing troops to kill troops. Two real world examples from my Army Career, one in Bosnia in 1998 and one in Iraq 2006. I was a Squad leader in Bosnia, this particular day I was the trail vehicle in a convoy. As we were passing through a village the road broke under the weight of the XM-1114 we were in. The truck slid on it's side down the embankment eventually hitting a pig pen and righting the truck. In the process the radio mount with broke off it's mount laying on me in the TC seat and also cutting our communications. This was bad because in the slide my gunner doing what he should have done in a roll over drill, also broke his arm. I knew it was only a matter of time before they stopped the convoy and looked for us because the next check point call in was 3Km down the road. 2 things complicated our exit beyond no commo. Everything in Bosnia was a mine field, everything and we were in an area known to have bad commo. When my CPL stopped the convoy when we did not check in he came back looking for us after realigning the convoys security and sending them on. When they found us, they had no commo with Task Force (TF) so that quick thinking team put up an OE-254/GRC antenna in record time right in the middle of the road to get com's with TF and get the proper assets headed our way for recovery.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Iraq 2006, we were sent out to do MSR (Main Supply Route) security on ASR (Alternate Supply Route) Bug cool, only one problem, the commo in my gun truck were down so going against TF standards they pushed us out in one of the hairiest routs south of Baghdad. When we got into position, one of the gun trucks asked if we had enough start clusters to let them know if we ran into trouble, I laughed and said "Trust me, if we make contact you'll know." Shit was good for about 4 hours, then my gunner picked up a "hot spot" moving towards us in a canal on the thermals. Me and my dismount tried to see what he was talking about though the NOD's but we could not see past the reeds in the water. About then my gunner reports that the target(s) were caring one very hot object and had placed it on our side of the canal road and were, in his opinion, digging it in. IED's were the weapon of choose on BUG. Now, I'm in a fucked up spot, I can't call for backup, I can't warn any units that might try to go down ASR Bug, I can't call in a 9 Line if we get hit and I can't go very far from the truck without being out of voice distance of my crew. The Gunner sees a second target so I have to move. My dismount and I are about 40 meters from the truck when someone to our 9 o'clock opens up, my discount and I are now hangout there. The gunner opens up with the MK19 at first but moved to the 240B after 6 rounds. We start taking fire from 9 and 12, my gunner and driver are shooting at the 9 and my dismount and I are shooting at the 12. All of this with zero commo. I see the lights of the gun trucks behind and in front of us come and head our way, that was enough for Haji to break contact.
Tumblr media
(Charlie Troop 1-10 CAv's rules for ASR BUG.) When I say field communications down as low as you can go is critical to effective battlefield survival I mean it. Anyone who's ever been on the ground where the bullets fly will tell you the samething. I have one exception for this, and time and technology might have changed this, but the Blue Force Tracker (BFT) and Force Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2) were junk. (Yes I understand that the difference between the FBCB2 and BFT are software but it doesn't change the fact that they never worked right.) They worked way less than they didn't. The addition of the AN/VLQ-12 Counter Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) Duke system caused more complications for the FBCB2 and BFT. They never worked right and I never used them.
Tumblr media
I know that is a lot when I'm just ranting about some clueless COL, but commo is that important when you are trying to stay alive.

The first Medal of Honor award classified "Top Secret." Hiroshi "Hershey" H. Miyamura #KoreanWar Miyamura enlisted in the Army and entered active duty at age 19 in January 1945. As a Japanese-American from New Mexico, he volunteered for and was assigned to Company D, 100th Battalion, 442d Infantry Regimental Combat team in #WWII. He was recalled to active duty in the Korean War, and was assigned to Company H, 7th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division. On the evening of 24-25 April 1951, near Taejon-ni, Korea, Company H occupied a defensive position when it was attacked by a numerically superior force of the (Chinese) People's Volunteer Army, better known to U.S. and United Nations troops as Chinese Communist Forces. With his unit in danger of being overrun and their casualties mounting, Cpl. Miyamura, then a machine gun squad leader, left his position to engage a number of the attackers with the bayonet, and killed approximately ten of them in hand-to-hand combat. He repeatedly ordered his men to withdraw as he covered them with rifle fire and damaged the machine gun so the enemy could not use it. He continued firing the machine gun, and although severely wounded in the process, continued to fire and killed about fifty Chinese troops before he ran out of ammunition. Despite the painful injury, he continued to ferociously resist against very uneven odds until he was finally overcome and captured. Miyamura spent 28 months as a prisoner of war. Meanwhile, in recognition of his extraordinary heroism in the battle, the recommendation for the Medal of Honor made its way through the military channels of evaluation and consideration. Because he was a POW, and recognizing the potential propaganda coup the Communists could exploit, the documents were classified "Top Secret," a first in the history of the Medal of Honor. In October of 1953 after the ended and he returned home, President Dwight D. Eisenhower presented now Staff Sergeant Hiroshi "Hershey" H. Miyamura the Medal of Honor in a ceremony at the White House. He died on 29 November 2022, age 97. #armyhistory #MOH #USArmy #TRADOC #MilitaryHistory Posted @withregram • @armyhistory (at Middle Tennessee Area) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnznL7vu4yQ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

With Courage, Police Honored Fallen Officer
From the dispatcher to the police chief, Dallas department’s quick and skilled response was admirable
As the Dallas Police Department lays to rest slain Officer Darron Burks, we should reflect on the response of the department and Chief Eddie García in the minutes, hours and days after the officer’s killing.
Through their grief, Dallas police performed their jobs admirably, from the top brass down to the rank and file.
Yes, that is required of them, but it’s nonetheless remarkable given the shocking brutality of Burks’ killing.
Their quick action and steady flow of information calmed the nerves of an anxious public and kept us safe from a dangerous gunman.
Burks, 46, a rookie cop and former math teacher, was shot around 10:04 p.m. on Aug. 29 as he sat in his squad car outside an Oak Cliff nonprofit.
Moments later, police dispatcher Owen Larsen received a transmission from the officer, “sounds that you never want to hear,” García told us in an interview.
Tumblr media
A brief groan was heard on radio traffic.
“It would have been understandable had the dispatcher not recognized this or had taken the time to call someone,” García said. Instead, “he was able to recognize that our brother needed help.”
Larsen called for backup.
Squad cars raced to the scene. Minutes later, Senior Cpl. Jamie Farmer and Senior Cpl. Karissa David were injured after exchanging gunfire with the suspect.
The gunman then fled in his car and bolted up Interstate 35E to Lewisville.
A chase ensued, and at 10:38 p.m., Dallas police Officers Nathaniel Baker, David Lem, Corie Reed, Richard Pace, Vladimir Perez and Joel Portillo shot and killed the gunman after he exited his car with a long gun.
Miraculously, no other officers were injured, nor were any members of the public as the dramatic scene played out on a busy freeway.
“When I saw the footage, I couldn’t have been prouder of those officers,” García said.
The chief said he first learned of the tragedy about an hour after the initial shooting when he received a call from his command staff while in Miami for a friend’s wedding.
As he was being driven to the airport by a local police officer, the Miami Police Department held a moment of silence for Burks. “I’ll never forget that,” the chief said.
At around the same time in Dallas, officers escorted Burks’ mother, Cherie Jeffrey, into the emergency room at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, flanked by two rows of saluting officers. By 3:15 a.m. Public Information Officer Kristin Lowman was holding a news conference in the hospital parking lot.
As García waited for his flight to take off in Miami, he posted simply, “No words.” on X, with a black stripe crossing a police badge. Forensic teams scoured the crime scenes.
Over the next few days, García, Lowman and the rest of the department worked around the clock to disseminate information about the shooting while also consoling grieving families and visiting the injured officers.
A visibly sad but composed García held a news conference the day after the killing, naming the suspect and providing a detailed timeline of the tragedy.
By Monday, the chief had released dash cam footage of the suspect’s final encounter with police, while behind the scenes the department’s Wellness Unit began helping officers through their trauma.
Burks, who by all accounts was a kind and caring man, “epitomized what we would want in a police officer, what any chief in the country would want in a police officer,” García told us.
The Dallas Police Department honored one of its own in the way it acted in the immediate aftermath of Burks’ killing.
May officers keep that courage and compassion top of mind in the tough days ahead.
DALLAS
Public lines up to pay respects
Former students, fellow officers attend visitation for Darron Burks
Aretha Foxx and her daughter, Ariel “Re Re” Gibson, arrived early, shielding their eyes from the setting sun as they walked to Watermark Community Church on Friday evening to pay their respects to Dallas police Officer Darron Burks.
Foxx and Gibson were among hundreds of mourners who came to pay their respects to Burks, who was shot and killed last week in Oak Cliff.
“It’s been a very long week,” said Foxx, 56. She described the death as a “wake-up call” that had her pulling her family in close.
Services for Burks began Friday evening with the public visitation and will continue Saturday morning with another visitation and his funeral.
The memorial services Friday and Saturday will bookend a mournful week for Dallas PD and the city.
Friday evening, a string of squad cars and police motorcycles lined Park Central Drive near the entrance to Watermark.
A black hearse was parked out front.
A few officers and mourners trickled in and out, some stopping at a large wreath beside an easel with Burks’ photo near the church’s entrance.
Police officers from across Texas came to pay their respects.
The services also drew law enforcement agencies from New York, Massachusetts, Illinois, Louisiana and more to the church Friday evening.
Among the mourners was Gibson, a former student, and her mother, Foxx.
They said they got to know Burks well when he was a teacher at Texans Can Academies, a charter school that helps students recover credits to graduate.
He taught Gibson mathematics and, as a basketball coach, supported her as a captain of the cheerleading squad.
“I was a parent [at the school], but he treated me like a sister,” Foxx said
With Burks’ help, Gibson graduated in 2010.
John Mack said he didn’t know Burks personally but wished he’d had the chance after hearing stories about him from his Omega Psi Phi fraternity brothers, of which both Mack and Burks were members.
”You never get 100% ‘he’s awesome’ from people,” Mack said.
“But I got that, 100%, from every person I know, and I have a lot of sources.”
Mack said he was drawn to the church to pay his respects. With everything he has heard, Mack figured that’s what Burks would have done.
Gifted flower bouquets and wreaths — from family members, fraternity brothers and sorority sisters, neighboring police associations, the Dallas Mavericks and others — made a walkway to the church’s auditorium.
Inside, a line to see Burks wrapped around the room.
The soulful notes of Chicago Mass Choir, Tramaine Hawkins and Kelly Price filled the hall.
The line moved quickly, with some stops so law enforcement officers could salute Burks’ open, flag-draped casket.
Cheryl Thomas said her son attended Paul Quinn College and was a fraternity brother to Burks.
She came with her family to pay their respects. She said Burks looked peaceful in his casket despite “everything he’s been through.” ”Every picture in there they showed, he was praying,” Thomas said of the slideshows playing in the church.
At one point, as she spoke, she motioned upward.
“We know where he is now.”
As Burks’ family motioned to leave, officers stood to make a tunnel from the auditorium’s entrance to the outside.
They left the church parking lot, guided by a police escort.
Gov. Greg Abbott on Friday said Texas and United States flags can be lowered to half-staff Saturday in the city of Dallas.
The letter from the governor came after a request by Mayor Eric Johnson.
The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The service will be live-streamed on Watermark’s website and the Dallas police Facebook page.
After the service, Burks will be interred during a private ceremony at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery.
Burks, 46, was shot and killed the evening of Aug. 29 while sitting in his patrol vehicle near an Oak Cliff community center.
A vigil the next day drew hundreds of people.
Burks, a beloved former school teacher of 17 years, had pivoted to a career in law enforcement and had just completed his police training.
Former students and colleagues described him as a dedicated instructor and reliable friend.
Burks pledged Omega Psi Phi fraternity while attending Paul Quinn College.
It was there that Burks earned the nickname “Pure Dawg” for his reputation as a leader.
After shooting Burks, the suspect, identified as Corey Cobb-Bey, shot and injured two additional officers — Senior Cpl. Jamie Farmer and Senior Cpl. Karissa David — who responded to the scene.
Farmer was shot in the leg and has been released from the hospital. David, who was shot in the face, remained hospitalized Friday.
After the shooting, Cobb-Bey, 30, led police on a cross-city pursuit from Oak Cliff to Lewisville, where six Dallas officers fatally shot him after he stepped out of his sedan and raised a shotgun at officers, police said.
Earlier this week, Cobb-Bey’s father and an older brother expressed sympathies for the officers and their families. They said they were taken aback by Cobb-Bey’s actions. =

This is great. Werewolf, drama, comedy, etc. CinemaSerf: I will admit to being somewhat sceptical when I sat down to watch this, but within about twenty minutes the auditorium was chuckling to the witty banter of Sean Pertwee and his squad of soldiers who find themselves stuck on an exercise in a remote Scottish forest when they’d sooner be in the wardroom sinking a few beers while watching Germany beat England at football. When their fireside banter is ruined by a missile shaped like a dead cow; things start to liven up and what ensues is a race against time for their very survival – there are more dangerous creatures in the forest than red squirrels! Kevin McKidd keeps the troop focussed at they face their foes with grim determination and their black humour prevails pretty much throughout their ordeal. The special effects are a little bit “Dr. Who” but Neil Marshall ensures the lighting and sound folks do their level best to keep the suspense going for a long as possible and at no stage does it hang about: it’s end to end action with a tinge – a soupçon – of horror as the story builds to an enjoyable denouement! On the big screen again now in late 2020 – not sure why – but if you get chance, and you like your horror unsophisticated and funny, then this is definitely for you.

Major League Cricket Teams & Squads
Major League Cricket is the US-based franchise T20 league which will be the same as the IPL, BBL, CPL, etc. People think that the United States of America and Cricket have no relation right? But let us remind you that in 2004, The USA played in the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy in England and since that huge day the graph of USA cricket has gone uphills only.  The reason behind embarking on this new…

Dream11 Team
Indian Premier League is organized by the Board Of Cricket Council in India and is the most popular T20 league in the world. On 15 November 2022, Every IPL franchise submitted the list of retained players and released players for IPL 2023, few important players were released by IPL franchises, which is shocking for all the cricketing fans.
Kane Williamson the skipper of the Sunrises Hyderabad in IPL 2022 has been released by SRH. Punjab Kings has also released their skipper Mayank Agarwal and in the forthcoming season, Shikhar Dhawan will be seen in the role of the skipper of Punjab Kings. Lucknow Super Giants also released their important player Jason Holder from their squad. These players were the most expensive players in IPL 2022 but their performance in the previous edition was not up to the mark, hence their franchise released them.
It will be interesting to watch the IPL 2023 mini-auction on 23rd December 2022 at Kochi. All the franchises are ready with their remaining purse to get some valuable players in the auction and make a powerful XI in IPL 2023. Let's see the remaining balance of the different franchises, which will be used by them in the IPL 2023 auction.
Chennai Super Kings have 20.45 crores left in their purse. Kolkata Night Riders have 7.05 crores left, Royal Challengers Bangalore have 8.75 crores left, Delhi Capitals have 19.45 crores, Rajasthan Royals have 13.02 crores left, Lucknow Super Giants have 23.35 crores, Punjab Kings have 32.02 crores left, Sunrises Hyderabad have 42.35 crores left, Mumbai Indian have 20.55 crores. Gujarat Titans have 19.25 crores left in their purse. Every team will try its best to utilize the remaining balance on impactful players.
But this time IPL will be slightly different from other seasons because some new players will be seen in the main role. Fantasy application users have to study player performance in the other T20 league like Big Bash League, The Hundred, CPL, etc. and for Indian players, they have to study all the domestic companies like; Syed Mustak Ali Trophy, TNPL, etc. These all need an abundant amount of time and research. Brothers in arms earned in blood hd
Tumblr media
To successfully complete a mission, the player has to study the layout of the battlefield, fix/suppress the enemy with overwhelming suppressive fire with one team (usually the fire team), and direct another team (usually the assault team) to flank the enemy by sneaking to the side or rear of the enemy to finish them off. The game discourages the use of solo run 'n' gun tactics by limiting the player's ability to aim, by decreasing the player's health, and by placing large numbers of enemies behind cover. The player usually assumes command of two teams of paratroopers to use the Four Fs - Find, Fix, Flank, and Finish-tactic against the enemy. The gameplay in Earned in Blood is similar to Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30. In addition, the player will also be in command of Corporal (later promoted to Sergeant) Seamus Doyle of the 82nd Airborne during the initial D-Day invasion in early parts of the game. James Marsh) and the remnants of 1st Squad (Cpl. Hartsock's squad consists of the remains of the original 2nd Squad (Cpl. Then the game switches the player to command the entire 2nd Squad after the Battle of Bloody Gulch (Hill 30). The player commands Desola, Allen, and Garnett from 3rd Squad, and some soldiers from 2nd Squad at first. Although the first part takes place under Baker's command, every mission is one not included in Road to Hill 30. The final part will take place in and around Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte. The second part picks up when he takes command of 2nd Squad, 3rd Platoon during the liberation and defense of Carentan, and the eventual link-up between 82nd and 101st Airborne Division at the town of Baupte. The first part of the game is a recollection of Hartsock's time in Sergeant Matt Baker's squad during the initial D-Day invasion. Marshall is interviewing paratroopers 15+ days after D-Day. The story is essentially told as a "reflection" on the events that took place earlier, as Army historian Colonel S.L.A.

SÄPO/CIA After-Action Report: HML-███-██-██-████
CIA/SÄPO Archives (Washington DC / Stockholm) CLASSIFIED: Subject to general declassification
Subject: After-Action Report of Operation Jinxed Winter; Mälmo Phase Date of Operation: ██/██/20██
Location: Reference; Map - Mälmo, Sweden. ██.██° N, ██.██° E
Reporting Officer(s): Capt. Liam Raynes, CIA, APO Washington DC. This combat report was compiled by Lt. William Brewer, SÄPO, APO Stockholm, as Capt. Raynes was unavailable.
On the ████ of ███████, 20██, SÄPO intelligence confirmed that a shipment of ███ 9mm semi-automatic firearms and ammunition to the Haemolife compound in Mälmo, Sweden. The number of firearms is confirmed to have matched the number of people in Sweden who have subscribed to a premium Haemolife membership; thus, terrorist motives were suspected, and similar purchases were confirmed to have been made and directed to compounds in Southampton, United Kingdom; Aarhus, Denmark; Albany, New York, United States; and Nuremberg, Germany. These reports will be compiled in the same dossier under Capt. Rayne’s supervision, and dispatched to the relevant authorities.
Haemolife and its affiliates have been deemed a threat to international security. The primary objective of this phase of Operation Jinxed Winter was to infiltrate the Mälmo compound, secure the firearm shipment and any other illicit materials, and capture the Haemolife leaders if they were present.
A joint CIA team (Sec. Com. Capt. Raynes) arrived at the compound at approx. 0930 hrs on foot, and rendezvoused with the SÄPO squad (Sec. Com. Lt. Brewer) on the roof of the Haemolife compound. Floor plans recovered by Lt. Brewer’s recon mission revealed an entry point on the roof would grant access to the main office of Rev. Whittock when breached. If he and Rev. Rosenfeld were present, they could be apprehended swiftly, and without resistance, completing the primary objective of the mission. While Sgt. R. Sweeney was delivering a SITREP to the squad, multiple and rapid gunshots were heard from within the compound. Capt. Raynes believed that the squad had been compromised, and detonated the breach charge early - coming close to injuring Cpl. Dugg in the process.
Breaching the compound, the gunfire continued, but no members of the team were fired upon. The breach location was confirmed to have been the office of Rev. Judas Whittock and Rev. Elijah Rosenfeld - and two bodies were discovered on either end of the desk, and the doors securely locked from the inside. The two bodies encountered when the team first breached were confirmed to be those of the targets - wielding 9mm firearms consistent with those reported to have been found in the shipment. After a brief assessment, Capt. Raynes deduced that the two men committed assisted suicide by gunshot; the entry wounds were found on the targets’ foreheads, and each man was still gripping his weapon at the time of death. Field medic C.Sgt. Bjorn was unable to preserve or resuscitate either of the VIPs, and they are now confirmed dead. All weapons, personal identification and immediate funds were seized by the CIA, and their bodies were disposed of according to SÄPO standards.
With the primary objective considered failed, the team moved through the compound to search for the shipment of weapons and secure it. Inside the office, Lt. Brewer discovered a concealed safe. 2Lt. Lindholm breached the reinforced door with thermite, and a mixed shipment of ██kilograms of cocaine, ███ grams of ecstasy, and ██ kilograms of methamphetamine worth approximately $█████.██ was recovered. Needles that were discovered inside the safe were consistent with those found to have been used in Haemolife’s brainwashing process - such materials were later discovered by Lt. Brewer’s squad in an adjacent room. It was concluded that the second floor of the Haemolife compound - reportedly inaccessible from the first floor by Capt. Rayne’s squad - was used for the bulk of operations such as production of brainwashing material, drugs storage and testing, and food production for consumption within the compound. These materials were collected by Lt. Brewer’s squad for analysis.
Meanwhile, Capt. Raynes and his squad moved to the lower floor to clear the area, as gunfire was identified as having come from the lower foyer - though by the time his team arrived at the door, it had ceased. A secure door was bypassed using a security keycard obtained from Rev. Whittock’s desk - and upon clearing the foyer, the cause of the gunfire was discovered. All ███ members in residence at the compound had subjected themselves to a similar fate to the cult leader, with all of them bearing a similar 9mm firearm and every one riddled with bullet holes in what appears to have been a mass suicide. At least two members of Capt. Raynes’ squad were reported to have become nauseous at the sight, as they were tasked with recovering the firearms; a task that required them to get closer to the bodies. Attempts to reach out to the team during this period were met with little response - Capt. Raynes was barely able to SITREP Lt. Brewer’s squad on their findings.
Clearing out the lower floor provided little else; the ground floor was the primary ‘storefront’ of the cult’s base of operation, with most living activities (fitness, dining, etc.) seemed to have been conducted there. The living quarters of each Haemolife member were located here as well - and L.Cpl Smehrik reported hearing strange noises from inside an empty clothing locker.
Upon opening the locker, a single survivor was discovered sitting inside - a small girl with short, black hair and a mallen streak at the front of her head. She was brandishing a weapon, but upon being restrained by L.Cpl. Smehrik, it was discovered that the weapon was not loaded. Capt. Raynes ordered that the survivor be released from the pin and attempted to communicate with her - but she was found to be almost totally unresponsive, and Field Medic D. Wesley determined that she was in a state of shock. SÄPO agents recovered the survivor from the site for asylum.
The survivor’s mental state is awaiting assessment. A psychological profile will be compiled and added to the same dossier as this after-action report. The survivor, codenamed S001-IO/GW (or simply S001) is in the custody of the CIA. No civilians were in the AO, so no discreet debriefing is required. Capt. Raynes reports that when S001 is stable enough to speak, she will be interrogated for more detailed accounts on Haemolife’s workings, to be compiled in the dossier that this same report will be found in.
