On occasion, I have to whack the *extremely expensive* lab instrument at work to help the brush motor in the failing probe engage. Yes this instrument costs a small mortgage but I WILL smack it if it misbehaves.
they used to make smackable technology. you used to be able to hit your tv when it didn't work good.
#Addition#The probe itself is also expensive and actually we just replaced it#So no hitting for another few months#But those brush motors fail so much faster than the sensor caps#The motor is for the stir rod by the way#In case anyone was wondering
