So in their infinite wisdom, F1 has decided to trial the new Quali format they were due to try at Imola at the Hungarian GP this weekend...
Q1 will be run with HARD tyres
Q2 will be run on MEDIUM tyres
Q3 will be run on SOFT tyres
Each tyre allocation will be cut from 13 to 11 across the weekend as well
#F1#formula one#hungarian gp 2023#I'm really tired of F1 throwing in these sweeping changes with barely any warning#It's obviously to try and cut down tyre usage#But they're clearly trying to mess with Quali in the hope of having a mixed grid#But given we've had a rbr starting far back a lot this season#I don't feel like we're going to get much out of the exercise?#This just feels like pointless meddling ultimately#And will probably screw certain teams over

The car was built with his driving style in mind, they just made it way better on the tyres so Charles had to take some time to adapt.
Honestly, it's a great car. Just hard to compare when RBR built a fucking rocketship.
But now that he is adapting we are seeing the true potential starting to show.
All those narratives comparing Charles and Carlos will soon stop, because he is going to leave his teammate in the dust.
Yes the car was 100% built with Charles' driving style in mind.
It's also been showing some real promise against the Red Bull at some points, and this is just the base. Especially against Checo, so I think we have a lot to look forward to.
They finally figured out a better solution, and it wasn't just with personal setup which is good.
Now I am going to push back a little, Charles and Carlos are going to be compared so long as they are teammates, it is useful to compare teammate performance data-wise, and team wise. It's a good gauge to see how things are for both the drivers and the car. However I see where you are coming from.
Given everything we've seen from what Ferrari has planned the upgrades will also further point toward Charles' driving style, so yes we should expect to see him improve more, it's up to Carlos to also get the most out of the car. I do think you're right that we will start seeing a bigger gap between them as the season progresses(I mean it's not a leap, history makes this an easy prediction to make)
Anyway loving the SF-24 so far and what it's been able to do for both drivers and very excited for upgrades at Imola!
