Author's Note: As far as I know, Snipe's real name hasn't been revealed. So for the time being I've given him a name that means "straight shooter" to reference his quirk, at least until he's given a real name canonically in the series. Hope you enjoy!

Ichijiku (Tigress)
Cold, rushing water caresses my skin after a hot day in the sun. The calm, lapping waves wrap around my naked skin like silk as I wipe away the dust and grime from a busy day.
Birds and frogs serenade me from nearby trees and lily pads spinning around me in the pond. The sound of hooves trotting in the distance provides a soothing cadence to steady my wandering thoughts. I take a deep breath and duck under the water, allowing an overflow of serenity to encapsulate every inch of me.
For those few moments, my mind and body hover in a blank plane of existence where I'm untouchable from the hardships of life, until I eventually must resurface for air.
Rubbing the water off my face, I open my eyes to a stranger five feet away from me at the pond's edge. A stranger who's unable to see me as he pulls his shirt off over his head.
My heart jumps in my throat as I glide behind a large mossy rock to peek out from. I've never seen such a man before. He's so handsome. He tosses his shirt aside and then works at the buckle of his trousers. With a soft gasp, I hide with my back against the rock until I hear him step in the water.
A frog disturbs the surface tension and I stay still for a few more moments to make sure my position isn't given away before I peek around slowly again. His bare chest stretches above the surface. Chiseled muscles flex as he moves deeper into the water. Tan skin gleams with rolling droplets in the sunlight as he rubs a wet cloth over his taut skin. He closes his eyes and leans his head back, giving me a better view of his blue dreads.
I should let him know I'm here. I think, but my mouth hangs open when I try to speak. I can only hide behind my rock and ogle him. No, I shouldn't be doing this. My conscience pipes up, making me shake my head and sneak to the other side of the rock towards my clothes on shore. As I move closer, I notice some of them missing.
On the bank, a black horse rubs her nose in my shirt and then pulls my socks and undergarments closer to her along the ground. Internally, I panic, but I try to keep a calm exterior as I duck my head to reach for the clothes when I hear a deep voice.
"Kuroashi! What are you nosing into?"
Just as I reach for my shirt, the man reaches for his horse and we're suddenly a breath away from each other. I glance at the dip of his hips and his eyes droop to the valley of my chest before either of us process what's happening.
"O-Oh!" He falls back into the water with a splash before I see anything, but I'm frozen in horror for a moment before I cover my chest and tuck in the water with a squeal.
His horse remains unbothered and continues rummaging through my clothes.
"I'm sorry, ma'am! I didn't realize anyone else was here." He quickly apologizes.
"I-I should be sorry," I squeak out, submerging every part of my body up to my chin underwater. "I saw you but didn't say anything. I had hoped to make a quiet escape."
"Well, I'm mighty glad I got to see your pretty face before you did." He chuckles.
"I can't say I wasn't fond of the view myself." I smile shyly. My neck gets hot and I pull my soaking hair to the front, shading my burnt cheeks.
An awkward silence stretches between us as we peek at each other. Fantasies of swimming over to touch him skirt the edges of my mind, but I force myself to be good when the sound of munching reminds me of why we met.
"Your horse is eating my undergarments." I giggle as my bra dangles from its snout.
"Gah! She's–Ashi!" He exclaims, hopping out of the pond with everything God gave him exposed to the elements. "Give that here, you nosy thing!" He laughs when she nickers, moving back and forth to make him work for it.
I grin when he finally snatches the bra from his mischievous mare and coaxes her to walk with him so he can toss it into my pile of clothes without letting me see him naked.
"Sorry about that," He rubs the back of his neck, before patting his mare fondly. "Kuroashi can be such a busybody sometimes, but at least she ain't crowbait."
"Crowbait?" I ask as I extend my hand to her and wait to see if she'll sniff me. When she bends her head, I stroke the fur on her cheek.
"Crowbait's just another way of saying she ain't a good quality horse."
"Oh, well I agree. She isn't crowbait. She's lovely." I coo.
"She's a good girl." He gives her a good pat on her shoulder. "Just doesn't know when to keep her nose out of the dirt and mind her own business."
"Does she take after her owner?" I tease.
"I've been known to get involved in another's business a time or two." He smirks. "But only on the odd occasion."
I look down with a grin as I comb my fingers through my soaking hair. My eyes cut over to him a few times. What I wouldn't give to touch him at least once.
"What's your name?" I ask.
"Choku. Choku Dan." His goofy smile reveals a set of pearly white teeth. "And what about you?" "Ichijiku." I take a few steps toward the shore until I expose my shoulders again.
"Oh! Right. Well, Ichijiku, let me help you out." Choku moves back around the edge of the pond to his clothes before grabbing a large, red cloak. "Here, darlin', use this to cover yourself."
He holds it open for me and I gather my clothes as I step out of the water and on land. Wrapping me up in his cloak, the cool wind isn't so bad, especially when he's trapping me in his warmth being so close. He buttons the clasps and I find myself mesmerized by the look on his face.
"What were you doin' out here anyway, sweetheart?" His brown eyes sparkle under the setting sun. "It ain't often I happen upon someone as beautiful as you in this pond. It's not exactly easy to get to."
"I often come to the woods for an adventure. Sometimes I need to go for a swim; though, skinny dipping today was a first." I chuckle nervously.
"I'm sure not complaining." His gaze shifts to my lips for half a second before his cheeks tinge pink and he looks back at me. "I-I mean, unless that makes you uncomfortable, ma'am."
"I'm more uncomfortable that you keep looking at me like that without kissing me."
I don't know where my boldness comes from but I can't say I regret it when he dips his head and closes the distance. Warm, soft lips dance with mine and I melt against him, his thin cloak the only thing separating us. It ends far too quickly, but that's probably good considering how fast my head spins when he pulls back.
"Sure didn't expect to do that when I came out here today." He presses his forehead to mine and we're close enough I hear the beat of his heart.
"I didn't either. I doubt there's anything more surprising to top it." I admit.
"Really now? What if I told you this pond is on private property and you're under arrest?" He slips his hands under the cloak to snag my wrists playfully.
I might be worried except he's smiling far too big for him to mean it.
"I'd say, 'Well, I can scratch that off my bucket list.'" I giggle.
"Who puts getting arrested on their bucket list?!" His laughter bounces off the trees as he shakes his head in amusement.
"The same lady who just kissed you wearing nothing but your cloak."
That seems to flip a switch in his head as he lets out another yelp and goes to grab his clothes and shuffle into them.
"Shit, that's right! I meant to offer you a ride back to wherever you needed to go. I'm sorry. I've been hanging fire this whole time!"
"Hanging fire?" I ask. I think I like learning about his cowboy slang.
"Delaying or getting held up." He explains as his pants zip and he throws on his shirt. "Come on, honey, Ashi and I will have you home lickety split."
"Oh, thank you. I don't mean to inconvenience you. I can walk if–"
"Nonsense. It's no trouble at all, ma'am. Let me help you up." He lifts me up as I keep his cloak secured, then he stuffs my clothes in his saddle bags.
By the time he reaches my house, the crickets sing to us as the remaining daylight wanes. He helps me off Kuroashi and I take my clothes gratefully.
"Wait here and I'll change so I can give you your cloak back." I say as I fish my keys from my jean pocket.
"Don't worry about it, ma'am. I've got more at home, I promise."
"Oh...are you sure? It's yours. It doesn't feel right to take it."
"I'm sure, darlin'. I imagine it'll give me a reason to come back." He winks.

The Return of Mr & Mrs Sinclaire – Part III A Rose By Any Other Name
Tumblr media
A Choices Desire & Decorum based AU fanfic All rights to characters and settings from the Desire & Decorum fiction belong to Pixelberry Studios Featuring: Rose Sinclair, Luke Harper, Caiden Lykel (oc), Marina Burke (oc) Rating: PG-13   Warning: Captivity, Language Word count: Long post around 3446 This takes place after Part II - The Fire Tags: @darley1101 @hopefulmoonobject @blackcatkita @speedyoperarascalparty @hellospunkiebrewster @tornbetween2loves @gardeningourmet @melodyofgraves @thequeenofcronuts @symonde @ritachacha @hellooliviaolivia @paisleylovergirl @allaboutchoices @regencylady1810   Rose was bounced hard against the floor of the wagon as the team strained for speed. The hay wagon lacked the suspension designed to add comfort for carriages. Trussed in the feed sack with her arms bound she couldn’t brace herself. Time was measured in bruises. But she could feel the fatigue of the horses even as she heard one of the men yell and the whip crack.  “Garrik, ease up mon. T’weren’t no good if yas kill tha horses.”  “Shut it Hob. I ain’t dyin on this bloody plain over no doxy. Tha horses will make it to tha farm and we can hand er over and get our quid and be done.”
She heard the edge of nervous anger in the second voice even as the whip cracked again. Rose tested her bonds and realized her luck as the rope was bound around and around her but her wrists and feet weren’t bound. She wasn’t gagged. And the bonds were all inside the sack where she could get at them. The problem was even if she could get free and manage to get out of the cart in the daylight there was no practical cover to hide in. And if she tried to get away and they caught her she knew they would secure her better.  The more the wagon slowed the more the men argued until finally Hob bellowed, “I’ll piss on you if you don’t stop, mon. I need to piss and there’s water here. You got ta let them rest and drink for a bit or we’re all gonna be walkin’. We need ta check her ladyship and gag her like you said. They was specific ‘bout her bein’ in good state. She ain’t made no sound she could be daid.”  “Fuck she ain’t daid. Don’t say that. Bloody fuck.”  They stopped.  Rose felt the wagon shift as the men got down. She did her best to relax as much as possible knowing it wouldn’t serve to struggle. She heard some rustling but couldn’t discern what was happening.  “She ain’t movin’” The man she thought was Hob sounded close. Abruptly her ankles were grabbed and she was drug to the end of the bed of the wagon. Somehow she managed not to scream fearing they would let her drop to the ground.  “She ain’t daid just fainted is all.”  She was pulled and nudged. “Come on girlie, wake up.”  She remained completely limp. “She ain’t movin’, Garrik.”  “Fuck. Come on girlie it’s time ta wake up.” He shook her again. “Fuck.” “Put on your scarf and get me some fuckin’ water, Hob. I’m gonna take er head sack off.”  “What about, ‘I gotta piss’ did you not ken? You get your own water. I told you not to go so hard. Now you broke the horses an the doxy. I knowed we was shite outta luck when you took this job haulin’ er ladyship cross tha country cause she ran away from tha high nob. Ladyships is delicate like flowers and yas broke er.”  “I’m gonna break you, ya piss fer brains.” Grunts and curses and noises of scuffling were coming from the ground close to the wagon. For a moment she considered if they really thought she was dead they might just leave her. Then she almost panicked when she considered they might try to bury her. She settled on playing senseless and incapacitated. If she could convince them they would be less likely to restrain her as well. So when the sounds of the fight changed from angry shouting to more petulant sniping and grousing she moaned softly.   “Ya bastard, ya broke me nose.” She moaned a little louder.   “Bet ya wish now ya’d got me wat..”       “Hush!” She moaned again, softer.   “I tol ya I ain’t killed er! Now get me some water for er! And put yer cloth oer yer face.” A moment later she was being shifted in the wagon remarkably gently. And the voice she had decided was Garrik was again trying to persuade her to wake up. “Come on yer ladyship just wake up a wee bit.” She thought he was untying the top of the sack she was in as he coaxed her.  “We got a commission from es highship yer husband tha Duke ta get ya back ta em.” She stayed limp but moaned in reality as he shifted her and hurt one of her many bruises. The sack over her head was removed and she concentrated on staying relaxed and resisting the nearly overwhelming desire to open her eyes. She could tell it was light out by the deep red she saw through her eyelids. He was adjusting her again then cold water was dribbled on her face. She gasped and moaned and fluttered her eyes open a moment before she rolled them up in her head closing them again and going limp.  “Fuck! Somethens wrong wit er.” He started to shake her again but almost immediately stopped when Hob yelled at him.  “Garrik, for fucks sake stop mon! She’s sore hurt cana ye ken! Prolly smashed her brains. Ain’t gonna serve ta shake her none. Leave er ta me and go tend tha horses so’s we can get ta tha farm.”  Her plan seemed to be working well as Hob tended her undoing the rest of her bonds and then patting at her face with a soaked handkerchief that made her twist away from the smell of stale sweat which only encouraged him to renew his efforts to rouse her.  “Come on Ladyship, let me know ya’s gonna be foine.”  She fluttered her eyes open again and blinked doing her best to look confused. “I.. I… “ She frowned as though trying to focus. He was dressed in workers trousers and a dirty green sack cloth shirt. A scarf covered the bottom half of his face and his left eye was swelling shut. A cut over his brow continued to seep.  She blinked and whispered softly “You’re hurt… Did, did you save me?”                                 -----------------------------------------  Marina smiled as she exited the Turks Head Tavern and saw The Captain was waiting with four horses, two of them saddled. She adjusted the pack she had put together over her shoulder and fished a couple of carrots out of her pocket breaking them into four pieces and giving each horse a piece before she walked around them trailing her hand gently over them. She checked their legs and hooves making certain of their soundness before she adjusted her tweed cap and glanced at Caiden.  “Good horses, Captain. Are they yours?”  “Aye. They’re Arabians. I first encountered Arabians on a trading expedition years ago. They’ve got the best endurance of any horse I’ve ever seen. As a boy I loved horses.” He frowned. “Then I joined the navy and had to ship them.” He trailed off and shook himself nodding at the mare that Marina was inspecting. “That’s Sheba. The one next to her is Jezebel. She bites so have a care. I’m sitting on Samson. And Zibiah is my lead.”  Curiously she turned a steady assessing gaze on him.  The Captain was not an especially large man though he had the aura of command that pulled attention and filled spaces. He possessed an elegance in his bone structure that spoke more of French or Spanish heritage than Germanic. His eyes had always fascinated her. They shifted from a dark steel gray to a blue so dark they looked black. For just a moment she allowed that he was a handsome man. The recognition bothered her. Her awareness of him bothered her. Her experience with men as a woman was not a happy tale.  “Am I sound?” His deep voice shook her from her contemplation and she dropped her eyes and adjusted her cap to hide the heat in her cheeks before taking a deep breath and meeting his dark gaze.  “Philosophers of the ages may debate that. It’s beyond my ken for certain.” She secured her pack behind the saddle and grabbed Jezebel’s lead before carefully fitting her foot to the stirrup and springing herself into the saddle. She caught his grin before he turned and led them off.  They rode silently north along the carriage road and Caiden set a steady mile eating pace. Having lost the morning they were pushing the fresh horses just a bit.
Marina found herself enjoying the opportunity to study The Captain even as they rode. Perhaps because they were leading horses and the speed they were travelling they travelled single file. Keeping to the road as much as possible for safety and speed. Still she noted how he focused on the horses and regularly would drop back to check on her.   Hours later Caiden departed the road and headed for the river Wharfe. The river had been getting closer and closer to the road for the last hour or so and now was a shimmering silver grey band winding its way beside the road.  Eventually he pulled up under a large sycamore tree by the bank. He dismounted and allowed his horses to drink while he went to her, “May I assist you?” He lifted his arms in offer.  She hesitated, lifting a brow and looking down at him. It was a strange moment for her, the first moment the Captain was treating her in a manner that proved he recognized her as a woman. She noted the afternoon sun had turned his eyes silver grey like the river and it momentarily transfixed her. At last she nodded and swung her leg over the saddle to face him. He gave her a gentle smile as he grasped her waist and lowered her carefully to the ground. Holding her a moment to be certain she was steady before he stepped back and went to pull the saddle from Samson.  “We’ll change horses here.” He spoke to her as he saw to Samson rubbing him down with sweet grass and checking his hooves. “I had fancied making Skipton when we set out but I think not now.” He paused looking at the light and back over at Marina who was pulling the saddle from Sheba. “If you allow I can saddle Jezebel for you.” His voice was soft with the offer his face hidden from her as he gave Samson a fond pat before taking his blanket and saddle to Zibiah and checking her before saddling her.  “It’s a kind offer and I thank you, but I can manage.” Marina frowned realizing that she was becoming increasingly discomfited by the Captain’s gentlemanly behavior toward her. “I’m not helpless.”    Caiden snorted with laughter and Zibiah shied a bit til he placed a calming hand on her neck speaking gently. He looked over at Marina, “Forgive me. But you are the least ‘helpless’ person I think I’ve ever encountered.” He was shaking his head. “I would not have engaged you on this had I thought you were at all helpless. That you are not helpless does not mean that you are not worthy of every consideration.” Just then Jezebel decided to try to bite Marina as she was preparing to saddle her. Marina slid her hand up on the reins to just beneath Jezebel’s mouth holding the horses head down and pushing her backwards as she spoke firmly “Ty budesh' podchinyat'sya! No! You will obey me!”  Caiden’s mouth fell open as the diminutive woman backed the horse up. He watched as she walked forward forcing the horse back with sheer strength of will and determination. Finally she stopped and stared at Jezebel for a moment sliding her hold on the reins back to a more natural lead position. Her voice was soft but firm as she addressed the mare. “Are we in accord? Good. Now come.” She led her back to the tree and the blanket and saddle.  Caiden chuckled and shook his head. “Jezebel, I could have told you not to try such foolishness with her Ladyship.”  Marina’s eyes went wide. “I’m not a Ladyship!.”  “Oh, but you most definitely are. And I am your Captain.” The words fell from his mouth without thought as some admission of his soul’s desire even as his personal measure of proper decorum was cringing at the most unsuitable retort.
He strode over to her picking up the saddle and settling it on Jezebel’s back before he reached beneath the horse to grab the cinch and fasten it. His mind was trying to formulate an apology but he wasn’t sorry.
Her black eyes were lancing him, one arm braced on her hip in agitation. “I am NOT some Ladyship to be owned by anyone, Captain. Others have tried and failed before. I may have foolishly agreed to help you; and I hold to my word. I am your employee. But mark this well when your friend is safe we are done. Do you understand me?”
His eyes went wide and locked with hers studying her carefully. Her reaction was far more extreme than he could anticipate. Finally his voice as gentle as he could manage, “Miss Burke please forgive me. Truly I intended no offense. I fear this endeavor will necessitate some levels of intimacy between us that may prove awkward for both of us. We actually know little of one another.  Be assured that I respect you in every way.”
She turned without a word and riffled through her pack pulling a couple of carrots and a cloth wrapped piece of cheese. She wordlessly handed him a carrot and then unwrapped the cheese and cut a chunk of it off handing it to him before cutting a piece for herself. She wiped her blade on the cloth before rewrapping the cheese and stowing it again.
Caiden fished a dried summer sausage out of his own pack and sliced chunks off for each of them. Then pulled a bottle of wine out of his pack and deftly pulled the cork with his teeth before offering her the bottle first.
Marina took a deep swig of the crisp summer wine before handing the bottle back to the Captain. They stood as they ate their travelling repast and walked each horse to the river allowing them to drink. At last as they were tightening their girths and checking their packs were secured on their lead horses she addressed him. “So you should tell me of your friend and this Lady I’m to impersonate.”
He looked at her a moment noting that she had not accepted his apology nor uttered a word of forgiveness. And he was still trying to fathom how his banter had so seriously offended her. He wanted to press it but thought better of it and decided to answer her question.
“Ah. Well, Earnest Sinclaire I’ve known since we were both boys. We made our maiden ship together. It was one of his father’s ships and I came aboard as cabin boy and cook’s mate. We were bound for China. Being of an age and our first time at sea we found soon enough that we got on well. We both planned to get our experience and then serve commissions in the Royal navy and fight Bonney.” He frowned looking pensive for a moment. “It sounded so grand when we would talk about the future to pass our watch hours. Then James, Earnest’s elder brother and the heir died and his father fell gravely ill. He went home. I went to the Navy commissioned as a lieutenant.” He shook his head pulling himself from the past and looked over at her.
If he hadn’t seen her when she rescued him from drowning he would never have guessed that the trouser and coarse linen shirt clad diminutive figure was aught but a boy. She was fascinating to him. Even dressed as she was, sweaty after riding steadily for the last four hours there was an energy about her and a quality that spoke of nobility. He frowned at himself so addled by this woman. As he forcibly brought his thoughts back to her question.
He’d never actually met Rose Sinclaire but Earnest had given him fair description. Miss Burke was smaller he suspected. Earnest was fairly tall and commented on how his Rose fit perfectly in his arms as they danced. Caiden met her dark gaze as she studied him.
He smiled and shrugged. “To be truthful I’ve never met Rose Sinclaire. I have her description from Earnest’s letters.” He grinned, “Hair like the sunset spun into fiery waves… Skin fair as alabaster, angel’s kisses dusting her perfect nose…”
Marina snorted shaking her head and laughing. “Your friend is drunk as a sailor just paid with a week before shipping out again on this Rose of his.”
Caiden chuckled feeling his heart lift at the pure joy of her laugh. He was having his own moment caught again in his own fascination with one Marina Burke.
She continued, “So does she have an accent? You said they are new married now? I know we are in haste to Gretna Green. Then we assume their names and leisurely journey back to where? Hoping as a fisherman teases for fish to lure those who would collect this bounty out to attack us?” She lifted her brow.
Caiden was contemplating the perfection of her tiny rosebud mouth. He finally managed to process what she had asked him and nodded. “That’s the plan so far.” His voice was warm and soft as he met the rich darkness of her gaze.
She cocked her head slightly puzzled by the delay in his response and the strange note in his tone. “And you think we can manage this impersonation?”
“Aye.” He was certain in that moment he could convince any observer that he was besotted with this woman. He was leaning toward her and caught himself. He cleared his throat and noticed the length of the shadows. “We need to go, Marina.”
She nodded and took a small hop setting her left foot flawlessly into the stirrup and vaulting into the saddle.
He took an extra minute to check the cinch on his saddle girth before mounting. “Let’s make for Addingham while we have the light.”
“As you lead, Captain.” And they were off again.
This leg they did not push their mounts and it was well after the sun had slipped below the horizon that they made their way into the village of Addingham and found stable at The Fleece Inn.
Caiden went first to secure a room at the inn and was pleased to find they had one to let with stabling for their four horses. He paid for the room and extra rations for the horses then went out to join Marina and lead the horses around to the stable. As they were tending them he kept watching her as she fed them and gently cared for them.
“You have a hand with horses, Marina.” His voice was whisper soft as he looked over the stall wall at her brushing Jezebel.
He frowned. “It would be good if I had a name to call you besides your own. Introducing you as my stable lad Marina won’t do.”
“You shouldn’t introduce me.” She lifted her brow at him as she looked over Jezebel’s back. “If you introduce me I’ll have to remember to answer to it. Just call me Boy for this journey.”
It made perfect sense and Caiden hated it. She deserved so much more than this hell paced ride to swap places and put herself in mortal danger. But he knew better than to argue with her so he nodded and went back to brushing Zibiah.
When he was finished Caiden went around to the stall where she was putting up the tack. “There’s lamb stew in the common room.” He waited for her and she looked up at him and smirked.
“I don’t think you escorting me in to dinner is going to be good for our cover, Captain.”
He fidgeted suppressing his inclination to offer her his arm. Then he met her dark eyes, his voice soft and sincere, “Marina… I am sorry to put you through this. I want you know… I appreciate this.. I appreciate you…” His voice dropped to a whisper, “so much.”
She turned from him ducking her head to put her cap between her flushed cheeks and the warmth of his gaze.
“Apology accepted Captain.” She nodded toward the opening of the stable. “Lead and I shall follow you.”

YNSAAAW-Masterlist
 Part 3
She had just played the God of Mischief, who was still staying in the middle of the seating-area a baffled look on his face.
Rays of sunshine woke her up, the warmth tickling her face.
She felt refreshed and started to stretch her limbs, looking around in her room.
After getting out of the comforts of her bed, she walked to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
When she reached the door, that let to the bathroom, she halted, Lokis bed had been empty and there was no noise coming out of the bathroom.
Not wanting to disturb him, (y/n) glanced inside the closet on noticing it was empty, she decided to pick her clothes first, letting Loki have his peace a little bit more.
Content with changing her morning routine, to make this whole thing easier on both of them, she turned around, nearly bumping in a leather covered chest.
Jumping back in alarm ( and because she was scared shittless in the sudden appearance- she blamed her just woken up state of mind) she lost her footing and stumbled backwards.
But the anticipated land on the floor never came, instead a strong arm sneaked around her waist and steadied her.
She must have looked like a dear in headlights, because she looked at Loki´s grinning face.
Where did he come from?
“Uhm-Thanks for the catch I guess.” She mumbled blushing on the situation.
He was clearly amused by the situation.
“We don´t want you to get hurt, do we?” He said with a big smirk on his face.
“Wasn´t my intention-no.” She said with a small stutter in her voice.
“Then what were your intentions, my Love?” He still hat his arm around her back, his green eyes were staring into hers waiting for an answer.
Damn, that’s a green.
“You surprised me and I lost my footing.” She answered short, not trusting her voice at the moment.
“That’s not want I meant. And I am sure you are well aware of that.” He said.
It´s to early for my poker face, pretty sure it won´t work again on him.
“I thought you were in the bathroom and didn´t want to disturb you. I wanted to get my clothes settled in the meantime.” She explained him sincere.
“Afraid of me?”
“No” This timer her voice was firm. She had never been afraid of him. Sure, he attacked the earth and nearly caused the destruction of NY. But she has always been sure there was more to it then everybody thought. He wasn´t the monster everybody ( and maybe he himself) thought he was.
And the knowledge, that the spell would protect her ( should her appraisement be wrong), helped as well.
She thought he saw astonishment flicker in his eyes, it was gone so fast that it could have been her imagination.
“I new what I signed up to, well most of it. I was prepared to be around you 24/7. You did not. I wanted to give you some time alone, before you are stuck with me again for the day. I figured you were in there, because you weren´t in your bed anymore and I couldn´t see you elsewhere in the room.” (y/n) couldn´t stand the stare, combined with the silence anymore and looked away. She would have tried to step back as well, but she knew his grip was to strong, not using any force.
They were quiet for a few more seconds.
“Very thoughtful of you. But I was on the balcony. You may have the bath to yourself. I advise you to hurry, mother doesn´t like to be waiting.”
Loki let go of her and returned back towards the seating area and began reading in one of her books.
Well, let´s get ready then.
It took her merely twenty minutes to leave for breakfast, using the sink, to wash her hair.
Not bothering with drying her hair, she put it in a simple braid. The weather on Asgard was warm enough, she wouldn´t fetch a cold.
She wore a simple pair of black trousers, with a lose shirt and her comfortable chucks.
“I am ready to go.” She exclaimed exiting the bath.
Quickly he looked her over, laid the book aside and sauntered over to her.
“Do you have anything you want to do?” She asked her husband on their way to the royal dining hall.
He only lifted an eyebrow in question, glancing at her from the side.
“I mean. You just sat in a jail-cell for nearly five years, there must have been something you missed. I on the other hand, just want to look around the city and maybe relax a bit later. God knows that’s a rare occurrence for me to be able to do that.” (y/n) smiled.
He had not time to answer, they had just entered the dining hall, where the rest of the Family was already seated.
“Brother! Sister! Good to see you this morning.” The god of thunder boomed with a happy voice.
“Good morning to you too Thor. How was the rest of the feast?” She asked him politely.
“Good morning to you as well, Lady Frigga, Allfather, Jane.”
Loki only nodded as a greeting.
“It was good. I hope you didn´t left this early because of those bilge snipes.” Anger still in his voice.
“I forgot them as soon as they left. I was just tired that’s all.” She answered him with a smile.
She saw Loki look in her direction.
“Why, what happened.” Jane wanted to know.
“When I was on the balcony, I overheard a group of soldiers expressing their displeasure about the feast and other things. I asked them to leave and they did.”
(y/n) answered her with a shrug.
“Nonsense.  You gave them a piece of your mind. You did good.”
“I blame it on the mead I drank.” The young woman answered, starting to feel uncomfortable with being the centre of attention.
“What are your plans for today my dear?” The queen asked her, sensing she didn´t like the current situation.
Not better.
“Library and a tour around Asgard.” Her Husband answered for her and she only nodded in agreement biting down on her breakfast.
Knew he would choose that.
For the rest of the meal, the others were talking about their plans.
“Library huh?” She whispered, leaning a bit towards the dark haired man.
“Unlike others I like to keep my mind occupied.”
Assbutt
“This is awesome. Loki. I never saw a room like this.” She awed.
They had entered the private library and Loki strode straight towards one of the bookshelves, his wife was forgotten.
It reminded her on the library of the Harry Potter movies- old wooden shelves stood in rows on one side of the room was a little alcove, with two big ottoman and an armchair in front of an fire place.
Lady Frigga´s colours were predominant, giving it a homely and warm atmosphere.
I could get used to this.
“Do you think, your mother would mind me taking a look at one or two of these?”
(y/n) had found a lovely looking book, with illustrations of different animals on the cover.
This looks interesting.
Her Husband didn´t even bother to look at her, or give any indication that he had heard her.
But she knew, he had only decided that he simply couldn´t be bothered with giving an answer.
“I take this as a ´No, she doesn´t mind.` If I am wrong, that’s on you.” She informed him with an innocent smile.
She took a seat in the armchair, opposite to the ottoman Loki had taken residence in.
Careful, not wanting to ruin the book she had chosen, she opened it and gasped in awe.
The first side was a beautiful illustration of the Asgardian palace in front of a changing night sky.
Wow. That’s magical.
The next pages showed different landscapes, all lovely illustrated and she was sure magic was used, because they where moving in a way that made them look animated.
Turning another page, her eyes fell on the picture of something she always wanted to see.
A huge black wolf grinned at her.
Next to his fury body was the sketch of a humanoid ( probably an Ase) body.
The shoulders of the canine and those of the Ase were on one high, indicating the wolf was the same high as a big horse. It seemed to have the body proportions of a draft horse.
Hell yeah!
“Typical for a Midgardian to get excited over a children’s book.” Lokis monotone voice brought her out of the excitement.
“Well, this is all new to me. So excuse me that I get excited by a magical picture of a wolf with the proportions of a draft horse.”
He cocked an eyebrow at her.
His eyes were still looking at her, an amused glimmer in them.
“Glad I am of your amusement.” (y/n) mumbled.
That caused his lips to turn into a smirk.
It seemed like he was smiling about something only he knew before returning back to the book he was reading.
Two hours later, a growling sound interrupted the peace again resulting in the young woman blushing, it happened from time to time, that she forgot to eat because she was engulfed in work.
When she looked up, her eyes met those of her husband.
“Sorry.”
“It seems, I need to feed you.” He sighted.
“I am not a pet, you know.”
Loki only rolled his eyes and put the book he was reading aside.
“There should be food served in the dining toom.”
Loki was right, the table was filled with different kind of food.
“Eat.”
After a quick lunch, (y/n) decided to eat a salat, that had a wonderful fruity dressing and fresh breadsticks, Loki held word and they wandered around the palace grounds.
Their first stop was a wonderful garden, that could be found in a concluded area.
Flowers of different colours and heights were in full bloom. Birds and other small animals ( like bunnies and she thought she saw the glimmer of a snake) were bathing in the warm sunlight.
“This isn´t like anything I saw before.”
“It is quite beautiful.” He hummed in agreement and (y/n) thought he saw him relax a bit.
Once or twice a group of three soldiers passed them of their patrol without any incident but when the third patrol passed, things were different.
It consisted of three of the soldiers, Thor had described as bilge snipes earlier this day, and they still seemed to be pissed at her.
“They let him roam free. What a disgrace.” One of them whispered to his fellow comrades, thinking she wasn´t able to hear them, but she was, and her husband was able as well.
His whole posture stiffed, and his eyes got darker.
He tried to stay calm and to look like he wasn´t bothered at all my that comment, but (y/n) new he was.
“I won´t tell if you won´t.” She whispered towards her husband, looking around.
But he had a confused looked on his face.
Really?
“I mean. You still can use magic right? You are the god of mischief, why don´t you cause a little bit of it? Odin knows they deserve it.” The last part was said with anger in her voice.
“You are even duller than the green goblin. The spell hinders me from using my abilities.”
“He hinders you from causing harm with them. But I am sure there is still something you can do with them?”  She said with an eyeroll- fed up with his behaviour towards her.
Her words seem to land on fertile soil, Loki´s face lost a bit of the annoyed look.
“I mean, a little illusion never hurt anyone, right?”
The god of mischief didn´t bother to answer her. But it wasn´t necessary, just a few seconds later a shrill scream was heard from the soldiers, who only stood fifty meters away.
They were jumping and shaking, in a manner like they tried to get something out of their armour.
(y/n) started giggling and soon was laughing out loud.
After a long minute, the guards seemed to get a hold on what was moving inside their uniforms. One of them threw something that looked like a snake, before it dissolved into green smoke.
With a furious look on their faces they stomped over towards the pair.
“You! That was your doing, wasn´t it?” One of them growled.
Loki´s demeanour changed immediately. His eyes darkened and jaw tensed, fist clenched so powerful, they durned white.
“Who do you think you are? Talking to me in such a manner?” Her Husband growled. “I still am a prince of Asgard. You shall not speak like this to me.”
“You are nothing else than a monster. Odin should have never listen to Lady Frigga and killed you instead of letting you roam free, only under the supervision of a puny mortal.”
They where face to face now, Loki still a few centimetres taller than the soldier.
“This puny mortal is a princess of Asgard. You better get your head out of your ass and leave.” (y/n) told them calm, but with anger in her voice. She wouldn´t mind, should one of them get hurt, but she didn´t want her husband to lose his tamper and the spell to kick in. He had tried to keep calm, and she told him to cause a little mischief.
“I don´t listen to a whore that willingly marries a monster. I told you that yesterday.” He sneered towards her and pushed her away.
Aesir were a lot stronger than Midgardians resulting in (y/n) flying a few metres and landing in the middle of a flower- beet.
Shiiit. That hurt.
After a short check for major injuries, she stood up.
Loki and the guards were surrounded by newly arrived soldiers.
The scream must have attracted them.
He was trembling in anger and his look was murderous.
One of the newly arrived soldiers stepped forward.
“M´Lady. What happened.”
“Your comrades over there insulted me and my husband and then pushed me. Just because some insect was lost in his uniform.” (y/n) told him with an professional voice.
“We will escort them to our superior. We apologise. M´lord.”  He nodded towards Loki and then pushed the suspects towards the palace, other soldiers following him, leaving her husband and her alone in the garden.
“Too quote my favourite TV Angel, that guy was an Assbutt.” She tried to ease the tension.
But he was still staring angry at nothing. His eyes still filled with green fire (and a glimmer of red?).
“Loki. You alright?”
His only answer was a pointed look in her direction.
“I will sit down. Just tell me when you want to leave.” (y/n) told him with a sight.
Her shoulder and back hurt, probably bruised and the pain had started to ache as well.
Damn. He looked pissed. Why couldn´t I get the body strength of an Asgardian? That Asshole could have broken my shoulder!
Around half an hour later, the God of Mischief turned towards her and held an hand out, to help his wife back to her feet.
Oh- Gentleman.
“Thank you. Can we get back in hour room? I think I have flowers and dirt in my hair. And my body hurts, need to check for bruises.” She smiled at him.
He bowed his head in approval.
Back in their room, (y/n) excused herself to grab a change of clothes and head towards the bath to get dirt out of her hair.
Getting out of the clothes was complicated then anticipated, her shoulder gave her problems.
Only wearing her underwear, she turned around to take a look in the mirror, to check on her back.
Her shoulder was already black where he pushed her and the back wasn´t really better. Where her body had connected to the ground it was starting to turn black as well.
She remembered, Natasha had given her a ointment, she always used when she was hurt on missions.
Just in case She had said. You never know what will happen!
And of course, the ex-assassin had to be right. Just take a warm bath or a hot shower and then put that on overnight. It doesn´t smell the best but it works.
Following Natasha´s tip, she was staring to let water flow into the pool, before poking her head out of the door, not wanting to be seen by Loki, only wearing her underwear.
He is probably on the balcony.
Quick and as silent as possible, she ran to the little trunk in front of her bed and pulled a little tube out, before returning to the bath.
“What´s that on your back?” Loki´s voice stopped her dead in the tracks.
“Bruises.” She answered silent. “Got them when I fell.”
No need to lie to him.
“Do they hurt?” His voice was closer now.
“What do you think? A bit. I just wanted to take a warm bath and then put this on them.” She showed him the tube.” Natasha gave it to me.”
His fingertips brushed over them, causing her to shiver and to hiss in pain.
“Take your bath. I will send a message, that we will not attempt the dinner because you are not feeling well.” Loki said, nearly ordered, with a gentle tone in his voice.
“Thank you Loki.”

found human flesh in the ruins of a burnt house, added it to my diet hahahaha added a human taste to bear meat and chewy snail shells ive earned muh name too now they call me 'Sumner the cannibal' visit that forest at night without jake and crew? NOPE! but ive been avoiding those tempting near by farms and sniping any strays i see sadly its not the same sport as hunting with treachery too easy boredom has set in as ive wiped out the majority of the gators, started wiping out small villages searching for new plague bearing rats but sickened by how weak and soft this land is now, not worth conquerin or even robbin Instead ive been wasting days locked in my house trying and failing to think up "AART nostalgia tour favorites" currently locked in my "meditation room" getting invasion plans from every direction, this village is weak as anything and theres dozens of fat sheep full of bone marrow and blood me on solid ground ahead of a potential alligator attack THEY wont be expecting a thing??!' ^ good news! seems like old charlie has found his purpose again, attacking while theyre eating will obliterate half before they can even react oooooOOOOOoooooo Just jumped to close to the boy and he caught me!!!!!!! my custom ballcutter caught on his armor and now hes furiously shredding it off scraping it along my own underside as--- GAAAH! too late ive been sliced across the eyes NOW what am I gonna do --oops he just slid off trembling waiting to regenerate He was delicious but I was starving back after a regenerative meal, war's been on my mind a lot lately seems everytime mama stomps off in one of her moods now me and pops end up running raids, setting villages alight and raiding conquests for a time gotta say I love being on the attack, bringing fear to other humans never bores me and neither does killing I've certainly had my taste during this long winter guess I've been developing a taste for blood in general too humans are tasty after all no rest for the wicked Where was I? oooh yes Here I am consumed with vile bloodlust and the energy it gives but a quick jot of prose rest the mind and brring clarity Let me tell you all about my dear friend charlie, in fact he was the first one among my recent friends ive not killed or eaten The man gave himself the name "charley horse" Finally managed to settle into a good rhythm with these deranged people and I get the sneaking suspicion charley horse was involved in getting humans to raid my homeland! really rubs me the wrong way Why has he not been killed yet?? hes never done anithing right! Ahem sorry one moment regenerating like nobodies business OOoooooh that feels better!! where were we? oh yes charley horse Pretty sure he's been sabotaging my every effort to fit in with the rest of the humans, those raiders were bad enough but to think he's been actively getting them to target home makes my scales itch I assume hes been organizing these raids from the south up near new aggressor territory so thats where Ive headed Finally caught up to him, and ambushed his band of ambitious little opportunists only to watch him escape Those humans were all loaded down with fur and hide armor so Im guessing charley has been organizing things with the bears as wel guess I'll have to get rid of him This act of kindness is gonna hurt him more than a little bat to the head since Ive had enough of his traitorous actions surprise surprise the raiders are organizing up there and have been recruiting humans from all the way down south, (even near the ruins of DC) those wackos seem to pop up everywhere don't they? Oh and charley horse is organizing things with them !!!! The little turncoat definitely has to die Ive had just about enough of his act I'm gonna need to get in deep and hasta muerte* That was interesting, ive been trying to get in good with the bear brutas for weeks now and I finally managed it by getting captured by a bunch of destroyer robots and had my mind probed and my body royally mangled! I hate robots! But in the end I got accepted like I wanted :) the bear brutas are pretty good folks once you get past their gruff exterior theyre kinda just like us scaly folk even if their primarily carniverous shhh! im supposed to be hiding by pretending to be one of them :) One of the girls just came around, ooooooh shes cute!! Gotta remember to keep an eye on charley horse *Hasta muerte means "until death" in spanish Comment too long Click here to view the full text Seeing alot of robots lately, makes me miss the old world and the old ways before all this new technology showed up, I almost long for the unified church inquisitors to hammer on my door again tough not nearly as tough as the old coalition or Enclave hunts Ive actually managed to become friends with a guy named Zero and his gang of repurposed robot killclowns, funny bunch of guys that love to joke around but they mean business when it counts Done a couple of jobs with them actually, never followed carly's rule of just sticking to one weapon and ive found its been quite helpful having access to an entire armory! I think in this crazy new world theres nothing better than a huge pile of weapons to pick from Keep coming across these fur clothes wearing tribals too, they actually seem to revere charley horse as some sort of deity or greatest warrior or something Theres more to him than meets the eye, good thing ive been getting on his good side :) The wish i could find out more about him but he just vanishes for days at a time some odd instinct tells me its best not to ask questions Its funny how im not the only one keeping a watch out for him its like all of us scaly types have this mutual understanding, hes the man but none of us want him to get too big for his boots, also because we all have our own agendas and jobs to do Just like old times back in the coalition! And now ive finally made my move just like old times! I cant even believe ive pulled it off either, took a while to set up and almost got caught a couple times but it all payed off! Was actually stupidly easy if i do say so myself!
