There's a subset of metal that just charms me endlessly. When it gets edgy, when it's a narrative about fighting chaos wizards in space, when the prose is overwrought and they use every word a poetry professor would tell you to avoid. It's so earnest. Pirate metal, symphonic metal, cheesy goofy personal and/or fantasy stuff. Leaning into what I can't really call cringe because they pull it off and make it work. I really just love it a lot.
