Hello, all! Saludos a todos!

Coming to you from Brownsville in a bit of a kerfluffle (heh). Due to 'nanigans, I've got 11 kitties in need of permanent homes! They are all currently being privately fostered by myself and my family, but they absolutely deserve forever homes where they can get more personal attention.

These kitties all descend from two colony cat females we were unable to trap and fix before they gave birth, and have grown up inside with our family as we try to find them homes. The youngest three were an oopsie of us missing a female in heat, and not due to any intentional breeding!

I've attached a massive photo with shots of everyone, but for more information: Poofy, Peachy, Mac, Birdy, Princess, and Fuzzy are all unfixed/unaltered and have not had their rabies shots or any other medical treatment yet. However, Colby, Cheddar, Bobby (Socks), Speedy, and Mittens are all fixed and have had their rabies shots (though Cheddar's may be expired) but no other medical treatment. (Getting to a vet is. Very Difficult for us.)

All are indoor only, constantly and consistently exposed to other cats, but have no experience with dogs or children. A home visit would be required before adoption could go through, as would a rehoming fee of 20$.

Adventuresses We Love – Renata Chlumska Adventuress Renata Chlumska has accomplished some amazing things in her life. Like summiting all of the Seven Summits. Like bicycling from her home in Sweden to Nepal, where she climbed Mr. Everest – without supplemental oxygen. Like returning to Everest as part of the expedition that retrieved and removed hundreds of pounds of trash – mostly empty oxygen cannisters – left behind by other climbers. But the adventure we’re focusing on tonight took place here in the United States. On the 4th of July, 2005, Chlumska slipped her kayak into the waters of Seattle’s Lake Union and started paddling south. She worked her way down the coast, battling pounding waves and strong Pacific currents, until she reached San Diego. There, she left the water, hooked her kayak to her bike, and started pedaling. She biked her way through the desert, towing her kayak, roughly following the US-Mexico border from San Diego to Brownsville, TX. Relaunching her kayak in the Gulf of Mexico, she made her way along the Gulf Coast, mostly by water (damage from Katrina did force her onto land – and her bike – for a little bit). She kayaked down the west coast of Florida, circling around Key West, then up the east coast until she reached the border of Canada. In Maine, she hopped back on her bike and started heading west. She paddled her way through the Great Lakes, then pedaled the rest of the way back to Washington, where she put back in again. Finally, on Sept 15, 2006, 439 days after she’d started, Renata Chlumska paddled back into Lake Union, becoming one of the very few people to circumnavigate the Lower 48 entirely under their own power.
