Palermo attended elementary school at Nightingale-Bamford School in Manhattan and high school at the St. Luke's School in New Canaan. She is of Italian descent. Palermo grew up with a learning disability. Palermo interned at Quest magazine. Palermo began taking part in charity events and joined the committee of Operation Smile. Palermo began her career as part of MTV's television show, THE CITY. As part of the show, Palermo worked for Elizabeth1. In 2009, Palermo signed with a talent agency to focus full-time on development of her brand. In October 2011, Palermo launched her personal website, which consists of editorial content about fashion, beauty and lifestyle written by full-time writers and contributing editors. She also appeared as a guest judge on Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model Season 7. Later in 2012, the New York Post named Palermo as the best dressed on Page Six. In August 2011, Palermo was invited by Stuart Weitzman to design a shoe for charity. Also in 2014, Palermo collaborated with Italian shoe label Aquazzura on a line of footwear.

Probably somewhat cliché to begin my first real post here with that greeting, but I’m actually quite nervous about this whole thing. I’ve always really wanted to go ahead and create my own blog where I could just pour onto my obsession with America’s Next Top Model and the whole franchise it inspired. 

I’ve really admired the community of Top Model rankers that we have in the collective fandom, and I’m positively shitting myself that my sorry arse is even attempting to join their ranks (the ranks of the rankers, God, that’s a mouthful!). But I do like to read their posts and I’d love to share mine, even if it’s only ever one person who reads them. I remember the first time I ever stumbled upon a ANTM ranking blog here, and since then I’ve always stalked the web to find as many to binge through and now finally I will be contributing in something apart from simply reading.

I’m probably going to begin with the American series first and go chronologically from 1 to 24, though i fully intend to also venture into Britain & Ireland, Australia, Asia, and as many as tickle my fancy along the way, though the international instalments might not necessarily be in order as I have yet to watch certain cycles. Don’t be too shocked if there is a break between American posts and you suddenly find yourself staring at Holland or New Zealand.

Obvious disclaimer here, but these are clearly my own opinions and they could be quite disparate from what you might feel -I’ll admit that a lot of us in this NTM family have very strong, stubborn opinions sometimes- and these posts are meant solely for entertainment, and never with any intention for anything malicious.

With all that said, welcome (even if I doubt that anyone is reading this in the first place, who knows?) to my ramblings on the crazy world of a modelling reality show format. Call me Baby Jay or JJ if you need me!
