hc: While shanks can cut an onion... He's not great at it (and even worse after losing an arm). The poor onion ends up mutilated in a little pile of rough uneven chunks. He also has absolutely no idea about any tricks like wetting the knife, so they end up lightly salted with his tears the first few times because he's too stubborn/delusional to admit defeat. In a self-described "stroke of genius" he ends up wearing swimming goggles to chop them.
