Fort Lauderdale, FL is a fast growing family vacation destination with more developments and resorts catering to families and kids opening each year.
Beautiful beachside areas are constantly being redeveloped from cheap bars and fast food restaurants to upscale boutiques, seaside dining, gastro-pubs and free entertainment in public spaces all of which you can explore taking water taxis sailing through the city’s numerous scenic canals.
From the moment you land at Fort Lauderdale airport and make your way to your hotel, you and your family will be in love with the gorgeous sunshine, sunsets, beaches and sea. Here’s how to get the most out of a 3-day trip.
Day 1
Start strong with a swashbuckling sailing trip from BlueFoot Pirate adventures. They include special kid-friendly activities like role-playing, and you can sometimes get 2 for 1 tickets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call ahead and ask if the “cruise and play” special is on.
Later in the day, head over to Hollywood Beach and check out the numerous dining options. Greek Islands Taverna has a beautiful sea view, while Dave and Busters have lots of activities for kids.
Later on, take a water taxi over to Las Olas beach and enjoy the sunset, then have dinner at one of the many choices available at Las Olas Boulevard, where you can also admire the interesting architecture.
