Resident Evil 7, Village, and Shadows of Rose feels like Capcom fired the team that made RE6 after the game received mixed-to-negative reviews. So, wanting to revamp the series, they hired the Silent Hill writers who were unemployed because Konami was going through its non-gamer phase. And then instead of conforming to the style of Resident Evil games, the newly hired Silent Hill writers decided to write Silent Hill games that just so happened to take place in the world of Resident Evil.
