Ideas for future Resident Evil games:
1) “Resident Evil Zero” remake that’s a collaboration between Capcom and Hazelight Studios (A Way Out, It Takes Two). The remake is a co-op game that emphasizes Rebecca and Billy’s teamwork in order to survive.
2) “Resident Evil Outbreak” remake that’s a collaboration between Capcom and Supermassive Games (Until Dawn, The Quarry, The Dark Pictures Anthology). So it’s a choice-based game in which you’re trying to save the 8 main characters, or die trying.
3) “Resident Evil 9” in which Jill Valentine is the main lead. The story revolves around Jill investigating The Connections, a crime syndicate involved in black market bioweapons. Carlos Oliveira makes a return as well, this time as a security contractor who is brought along by Jill. The twist in the game is that the main villain, the one in charge of The Connections, is Ozwell E. Spencer, who has somehow been resurrected after being killed by Albert Wesker.
4) “Resident Evil: The Missing Files”. A third-person shooter spin-off that specifically focuses on characters who haven’t been seen in years. For example, the game could have 4 campaigns whose lead characters are Billy Coen, Carlos Oliveira, Sheva Alomar, and Jake Muller.
5) “Resident Evil: Gun Survivor” remake but instead of being a light-gun shooter, it’s done in first-person. So, same format as RE7 and RE:Village. Nolan North voices Ark Thompson.

Dear RE fandom: Leon Kennedy shouldn’t just be an omega because he was born one in a society where everybody has a “secondary gender.” This is Resident Evil, guys. Stop being so boring!
He should be an omega because he got infected with the Omega Virus strain after some genetically engineered monster licked him or whatever, and now he and all the other survivors of Raccoon City are inexplicably going into heat and/or rut and nobody knows how to contain the sudden knotting-mutation outbreak.
Less default omegaverse, more “alphas and omegas are the result of a weird mutating virus developed by an evil corporation, your omega slick might be a contagious biohazard! Oops, too late, Chris Redfield has been infected via your saliva. It’s mutated his dna and he’s an alpha now.”

GAIDEN OUTRANKED MERCS 3D
That's so fucked LMAO Mercs 3D was not that bad.
AND OPERATION RACCOON CITY OUTRANKED BOTH CHRONICLES GAMES
Men shouldn't be allowed to have opinions. My GOD.
Ashley outranking Luis, Lady D, Piers, and Billy is genuinely and legitimately shocking. I would not have seen that coming.
Oh how the mighty have fallen, re: Billy. He was once the most beloved one-off character in the series.
I'm sure he'll reclaim his throne after RE0make comes out, but wow.

She is an employee of TerraSave, an NGO that provides relief for victims of bio-terrorism and drugs. Her brother Chris taught her self-defense skills, and after escaping from Raccoon City, she acquired various combat techniques. She has the same headstrong personality as her older brother, but she has a kind heart and is devoted to the weak. Claire and Leon have fought together against bio-terrorism and are comrades-in-arms.
-- Claire Redfield Character Bio, Biohazard: Death Island
On his first day of assignment to the Raccoon City Police Department, he was caught up in a biohazard outbreak and bravely did his best to rescue the survivors. He was later recruited as a government agent and joined the DSO, an organization under the direct control of the President of the United States, where he is engaged in daily top-secret missions. He is an excellent survivor and possesses both high physical ability and good judgment. He has earned the President's trust through his successful rescue of President Graham's daughter, Ashley, who was kidnapped in the past.

— always the fool (how was i supposed to see the way?) // preview
pairing: leon kennedy x reader
running wc: 6.9k
tags: canon compliant, canon-typical violence, suicide, death (no major characters), grooming (not between main pair), manipulation, betrayal, ill-timed attraction, alternating pov, what if we kissed in the mutant-infested laboratory? haha just kidding... unless...?
synopsis: September 13, 2003 | Pueblo, Colorado — When a citywide alert warns all residents to get home, lock down, and stay away from the industrial district, the first thing you do is head for Biovance. Although officially employed as custodial staff, you know about their experimental research, and you’re not letting the company sink without getting your hands on the R-vive bacterium they’ve been developing. Unfortunately, navigating the maze of halls you’ve memorized is a lot harder when they’re crawling with strange, hostile creatures… until you run into someone who looks like he does this for a living.

An organization develops a gene-altering pathogen and causes a biohazardous outbreak… basically, just another day for Leon. His mission is simple enough: get in, take out the bioweapons, rescue survivors, destroy any chance of another outbreak, get out. The first survivor he stumbles upon, however— a scientist with an attitude and an old revolver— refuses to evacuate, insisting that there’s someone she must save. It’s a pain in the ass, but between his combat capabilities and her knowledge of the facility, they might actually make a decent team.
a/n: this story takes place after operation javier, but before the events of re4, so picture slightly-less-exhausted re4r!leon. also, no y/n here; the reader uses a fake name for most of it.

“Women,” he says with a sigh. Always so stubborn. He shakes his head. As a newer agent, he might've argued longer, might've threatened legal action. But he's done this enough times to know how it's going to end. Any time spent chasing the same points around and around is time wasted, time that other survivors might not have. “Alright, fine. You lead the way, and I’ll keep you safe. But you have to stay close to me at all times, and you have to do exactly as I say. That sound like a deal to you?”
She nods eagerly, all traces of her earlier terror now replaced with hopeful vigor. It sends a pang to his heart. If she knew what she was in for, she wouldn’t look so happy right now. “Deal.”
He extends the revolver. At first, she makes no move to take it, staring up at him with her lips slightly parted. “What? You don’t want it anymore?”
“I do,” she says quickly, holding out her hand.
“I don’t know where you got this old antique,” he says, eyes scanning over the long-discontinued model, “but you should hold onto it. Don’t try to play the hero, don’t be so trigger happy. Let me handle hostiles. This is only for emergencies.” His eyes meet hers sharply, darkening slightly. “And don’t even think about pointing it at me again.”
He places the revolver into her waiting hand and watches as she tucks it into the waistband of her skirt. Seriously, not even a holster? His eyes flicker up to meet hers once more, and she nods once. “I understand,” she says, a tinge of genuine remorse in her tone. “I’m sorry.”
He nods. Truthfully, he’s not even that mad. It’s not the first time a beautiful woman has pointed a gun at him, and somehow, he doubts it’ll be the last. That just seems to be a recurring theme in his line of work.
“Lead the way, doctor.”

Mission: Save the city.
Pairing: Carlos Oliveira x G/N reader.
Notes: English is not my first language. Random acquisition of baby. Part 1 of ?? If you show some support I might do a part two.
How did all of this happen? One moment I was clocking out of my shift at the hospital, walking home, and the next one was taking refuge in the deposit of a grocery shop. The streets of Raccoon City were filled with screams, fire and dead, or undead, to be more specific. I heard the metal curtain of the deposit being opened, a man’s voice calling out:
-”Is there anyone here? Any survivors?”
The fear was paralyzing, yet, my body moved on its own, coming into view for the man.
-”Over here.”
My words came out almost like a whisper, as if I hoped he didn’t hear me. But he did. He turned around and his eyes locked on mine.
-”My name’s Carlos Oliveira, I’m working with the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service. We’ve been sent to deal with the outbreak. Right now we are evacuating civilians out of the city. What’s your name?”
-”I’m ****. I work as an ER nurse and a first responder.”
-”I hit the damn jackpot, huh? Are you able to provide service given the appropriate supplies?”
-”Yes, I should be able to do so.”
-”Then let me take you where we are holding the civilians, we’ll need you to search for bite marks on them. If we don’t keep that in check they might infect other people.”
-”Where are you keeping them?”
-”The subway station, We are using the train to take them out of the city. Any cooperation you can offer will be welcome. I’ll take you there. Do you have any weapons?”
-”No, I just clocked out of work and I barely made it in here.”
-”Don’t worry. Just stay close to me, I’ll keep you safe. “
I started to walk next to Carlos, his presence calming my nerves, only slightly, but better accompanied by an armed professional than alone out there. Not only was it terrifying because of the outbreak, it was terrifying because I had just arrived to the city less than a month ago.
-”Do you have any family or friends in the city that may be in need of assistance?”
It sounded like he could read my thoughts. I looked up into his dark eyes and shaked my head.
-”No one. I just moved in. Hopefully my family is safe very fucking far away from here.”
-”Where are you from? If you don’t mind me asking.”
-”I’m not from the States, I’m from ****. How about you? Oliveira doesn’t sound very American if I say so myself.”
-”Good catch. I’m Brazilian.”
-"So we are both immigrants that work difficult jobs in a country that hates us. Seems about right."
-"Looks like we are both a little bit on the masoquistic side, huh?"
At least he had a sense of humor, just perfect for the coping mechanism my brain just came up with. His voice cut off my thoughts.
-”We’ll cut through this shop. Follow me and don’t make much noise.”
I nodded in response and moved quietly behind him. As we made our way through the building something caught my attention. A room, off to the side, its door was locked and a small group of zombies seemed to be pounding on it. I touched Carlos’ arm to get his attention and pointed to the room.
-”There may be a survivor trapped inside. Those things seem desperate to get in.”
Carlos nodded and looked around to make sure there weren't any others in the store before he took his weapon out and disposed of the group. Meanwhile, I entered the little room, it looked like the employee lounge. In one of the chairs there was a bunch of cloth, covering something. As I didn’t see anyone I turned to the door and started walking towards the exit, but I got stopped dead in my tracks by the sound of ruffling. I looked back at the pile of cloth and uncovered it. My jaw dropped as I saw a small baby inside, they didn’t look older than a couple of months. I gently picked them up and I noticed a photo next to clothes, upon further inspection I saw a woman with the same baby in her arms. It was one of the zombies Carlos took care of.
-”Oh my god, Carlos, you need to see this.”
The shock in my voice must have startled him because he walked over to me quickly. When he saw the baby in my arms it looked like he just took a punch to the gut.
-”Why is there a baby in here? Where’s their mother?”
-”She was outside, one of the undead. Looks like she was bitten and she locked herself out before she could harm them… God…”
-”It’s okay, it’s okay. We just need to take them with the other survivors.”
His voice sounded like he was convincing himself more than me. I started to look in the pile of cloth and found a baby carrier. I started to attach it to my torso and placed the small baby inside of it. I also found a pacifier and a tiny plush toy which I put in my bag, we would need them later.
-”It’s fine, we have to keep moving. Lead the way.”
My voice took Carlos out of his thoughts and he started to guide me to the subway station once again. We didn’t have many bumps along the way, just a couple of stray creatures. I sensed the baby starting to get fuzzy in the carrier, so I took out the pacifier and gave it to them to prevent them from crying.
-”Did the photo or something say what their name was?”
-”The photo was written in the back, it seems like her mom left a message. I didn’t read everything but I think she called her Kiania.”
-”Kiania? Huh. In Brazil that name means “New Dawn”, maybe she’ll live to see another one of those.”
Finally we reached the subway station. There we were received by another man in a uniform. The commander of Carlos’ group.
-”Welcome back, I’m the leader of the U.B.C.S. Delta platoon, Mikhail Viktor. Carlos reported bringing some civilians in.”
-”Not civilian, ER nurse and first responder, at your disposal. The name’s ****.”
-”That name… Did you work under the order of doctor Nathaniel Bard?”
My eyes widened a little at that mention. I know for a fact that dr. Bard had a contract with Umbrella, something had told me to walk away back then and I thought nobody else knew about my association with him.
-”Dr. Bard was one of the researchers in my hospital and I used to work for him, but I got transferred to another department.”
I wanted to cut any ties they may have on me. Something doesn’t feel right about these lines of questioning. Whatever problem Bard got himself in, I didn’t want any part of.
-”Do you know where dr. Bard may be right now?”
-”No, I don’t have any contact with him outside of my professional capacity.”
-”Sir, I don’t mean to interrupt, but the baby is getting annoyed, they both need to rest for a moment before getting to work with the rescued civilians.”
-”You are right, please rest a moment, there must be some baby formula somewhere around here. You can ask the civilians over there.”
-”Thank you sir.”
I walked over to some civilians who were nursing their babies. I managed to prepare something for Kiania to eat and I put her to sleep. Carlos approached me again.
-”I have to head out, I’ll leave the parenting to you. It looks like you have it under control already. A natural, huh?”
-”Where are you going?”
-”We received orders to save Bard, he may have a way to combat the infection.”
My eyes widened and a flash of memories came to my mind. I looked up at Carlos and said:
-”There’s a vaccine. I know how to get to it.”
-”What?! What are you talking about?”
I quickly jumped from my seat and made my way to Mikhail.
-”I know where dr. Bard is keeping the vaccine. Mikhail, if you promise to not let Umbrella have it, we can help this city.”
-”I’m sorry? Why do you think I don’t want to save this city?”
-”Don’t act innocent on me. Umbrella is up to no good, you guys are the reason this outbreak happened in the first place.”
-”You are a sharp one, huh? How did you know?”
-”Because dr. Bard had a really bad case of loud mouth. He wouldn’t stop bragging about how his research was financed by Umbrella. When Carlos mentioned he had an order to “save” the guy I realized, you were trying to get him into custody.”
-”A brilliant person like you was working under Bard? That seems like a waste. Fine, I’ll give you the chance. If you can retrieve enough of the vaccine samples for my whole platoon and an extra one to take for research purposes, I won’t hand them in to corporate. Only catch is, the U.B.C.S. can’t help you in an official capacity. You’ll have to do this on your own. Do you feel up to the task?”
A sudden surge of anxiety washed over me, for a second I looked down to the baby sleeping in my chest. For her. For her mother. For every innocent who died here. I looked up into Mikhail’s eyes with a serious face.
-”I’ll do it. I’ll get enough for it. How many men are in your platoon?”
Mikhail smiled, almost amused by my attitude.
-”As of now, there might be around thirty-five members alive.”
-”Deal. I’ll get those vaccines before you even get out of this hellhole of a city.”
-”Wait a goddamn minute. Are we really going to let them go out there all alone? Mikhail, you know how dangerous it is out there.”
-”I can’t order my soldiers to assist in this, it is not our mission. We were sent to get civilians out, and to take Bard in. Nothing more. We’ll be supplying weapons for them, but that’s the maximum I can do.”
-”You can’t really plan on risking yourself like that. You have to be crazy. Do you even know how to handle a gun?”
-”Can’t say I have the pleasure of practicing ranging often, but if my life is on the line I think I can manage it nicely enough.”
-”Why in hell would you do this?, you are risking your life here.”
-”I can’t leave this mess unattended if I have the opportunity to help. I’m a goddamn nurse, it’s kind of my job description. Besides, my life is at risk as long as I stay here. I might as well do something to help.”
-”Mikhail, you say there can be no official involvement in this, right? How about something unofficial? Just one of your platoon members who lost contact for a couple of hours and decided to help a civilian? Would that be on the table?”
-”I can’t allow you to do this Carlos, this is your job. You already have your orders.”
Mikhail interrupted me, looking directly at Carlos.
-”If I lose contact with my platoon member, I could not give him orders, now could I?”
Great, he sided with Carlos. Now there is no way I’ll be able to take him off my back.
-”Then, where should we start looking?”
-”We’ll have to go to the hospital where Bard and I worked. There are some parts that had restricted access, but I don’t think the dead would mind If we took the keys. First we should head to dr. Bard’s office, he may still be in there. He could help us get to the vaccine. Though you should probably leave behind the Umbrella logo, it’ll scare the crap out of him.”
-”What about Kiania? We can’t take her with us. It’s extremely dangerous.”
-”I’ll ask some of the survivors who have children to take her with them. we’ll reunite with them after everything is settled.”
-”Good idea. I’ll be waiting upstairs when you are ready.”
-”Actually, wait right here. If we use the subway rails, we’ll get there faster and safer.”
Carlos nods and stands there, talking with Mikhail while I go talk with some civilians to find someone to care for Kiania as we go. A woman and her partner promise to take care of her. After I give them all of her stuff I get close to her little face and kiss her on the forehead, she giggles and I feel my heart sink, a horrible feeling creeps up my back. I promise Kiania that I’ll get back to her, and just like that I turn around and make my way to Carlos. I signal him to follow me and start walking through the subway rails.
-”We’ll get back. You’ll see her again, I promise you that.”
How did he know what was on my mind?
-”I sure hope so. After losing her mom she needs someone there for her.”
-”I know how you feel. You just want to care for her, don’t you?”
-”I never thought I could feel this way. I used to say I was scared of being a parent. It’s difficult to make a good one when you don’t know how one should behave.”
-”Difficult home life?”
-”Let’s just say I don’t remember ever enjoying a hug my parents gave me. That should say everything there is to know.”
-”I won’t press ya.”
We walked in silence for a couple of minutes. Then, he spoke up again.
-”What’s the plan for when we reach the hospital?”
-”First thing. Prepare yourself for hell out there. If there is a place in this city that will be filled with those monsters it will be that hospital. Second. Doctor Bard’s office is on the second floor. We go in, see if he is still alive and get him to take us to the vaccine. He may even have a couple samples in there. If not, we’ll have to look for the keycard that opens the restricted deposit. It’s the only place where any of this may be hidden.”
-”Does the office have any security measures?”
-”Voice recognition. If we are lucky they still didn’t take me out of the system.”
-”Let’s just hope so.”
-”Alright. This is the station where we go back upstairs. Are you ready for this, Carlos?”
-”As ready as I can be.”

AiB main cast Fun Facts
Tumblr media
Ryouhei Arisu
Tumblr media
was compared to his gifted younger brother a lot
His father was so ashamed by him that he didn't even want him to meet their relatives
Due to this, Karube said he has an inferiority complex because of his brother
He also shows strong dislike for his father, even saying that he "never wants to become an adult like him"
During his freshmen year he described his "father's oppressive criticism as on its height"
His first impression of Chōta was "Idiotic, Hopeless" and somebody he had no intentions of befriending
his advisor taught him to play guitar and he was actually passionate about it for a while
his dad pressured the university to transfer the advisor and got rid of his guitar after which he threw a brick at his own house
He was implied to have been (mildly) suicidal and considered his friends as his only reason to live even before borderland.
Wanted to be a reportage writer; travel the world, gather materials and write articles for newspaper and magazine.
Arisu wished for an earthquake or biohazard outbreak to happen believing he would get more responsible this way, he also wanted time to stop and to visit Australia or a foreign country (forshadowing to his trip to borderland)
Karube
Tumblr media
Karube's mother worked as a prostitute and his dad was not in the picture
He had his own bar at 18 where Chōta and arisu would come over to drink and eat for free often
Dreamt of buying a ranch in Australia and raising sheeps with money he saved from his bar
He choose Australia because Arisu told him about his dream to visit the country
He wanted to have a son
Chōta
Tumblr media
Both Chōta and Arisu spent their first night in Borderland crying
He was described as nicest person Arisu ever met after their second meeting
Was willing to throw a brick at Arisu's house for a piece of bread
His family was poor
His mother is religious fanatic (I belive I remember it being mentioned she was part of a cult but not 100% sure on that one)
In live action, his dream was stated to be making a drone that can be controlled with just an app.
Shibuki
Tumblr media
She worked in dentist waiting room
She would bathe in Tokyo river since bathroom weren't functioning
Her parents argued about money and loans a lot while she was younger.
Her dad was implied to be alcoholic.
Has impulsive suicidal tendencies but also strong will to live that sometimes is shown
Has Survivor's guilt.
Craves to be understood, accepted and loved
Wishes to go back to "naive" way she was before borderland
Unlike in the drama, in the manga she was nearby Arisu during "hide and seek" but couldn't handle the thought of carrying the last wishes of both Chōta and Karube and choose her own death just like the other two sacrificed themselves for Arisu
In live adaptation she was shown sleeping with her boss to get a promotion

Lockdown
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is kinda an idea after seeing a lot of infection au and thought of something different and recalled the biohazard stage and its manga, the marhawa desire so before I start...
Letitia belongs to @moonartemisia Resident evil belongs to Capcom and Paradox Live belongs to Avex pictures and GCREST.
How did this happen? One minute everything was a normal day...and now...it has became a nightmare?
The whole college ground is under lockdown as outside the college are news reporters and military vehicles, Aeryn recognizes the logo in her classroom.
BSAA
She knew that his here and frown as she hug her legs close then looked back at the others who took shelter at classroom.
*Anne and Allen are trying to get a signal after it gets shut down and same time recovering from escaping, Anne doesn't wear her usual heels and switches to sneakers.
*Letitia fixes Hajun glasses after one of the infected tried to eat him by pinning him on the ground but luckily he knock the infected out.
*It was surprising that Yohei visited since Shiki was thinking of entering college once he finished high school and Ryu joined in and nearly got eaten after what they witnessed...Yohei had to grab the emergency fire axe and chop the dead college student head off and Shiki manage to grab first aid kit from inside the emergency fire axe
And last is Naoakira, he was gonna start the lecture when the outbreak strike in college.
Aeryn on the other hand had managed to run even with the weak stamina she had, she sought shelter.
Right now she prayed for the other student and faculty members manage to escape or seek shelter and not became the undead...
"Do you think..." Shiki spoke up and everyone turn to him "Do you think someone will save us?"
Aeryn wanted to say something but she didn't want to get suspicious so she calmly replied "Well the people outside have called some military, and I heard that they are known to handle this..."
Hajun spoke "Zombies?"
Aeryn nodded as Letitia decided to speak up "Look I know we are all on the edge right now especially what happened, at least were safe..."
Ryu then decided to speak up "Still I want to know..." He turn to Aeryn giving her the most uncanny look as he smile maliciously like mad hatter which made Aeryn shiver...
But what else is worse...is his question...
"How long will you keep lying?"
Aeryn swallow her breathe as she looks pale when he asked, Naoakira saw this and turn to Ryu.
"Ryu please don't....your not helping..."
"But Boss..."
"Please..."
Aeryn was relief but looked out the window again...as she looked out she saw a few undead students walking around aimlessly as she looked back at the front...
There she sees a familiar military hummer as it park in front and driver door open revealing a male.
He wore a light blue green and gray with a black sleeveless turtleneck underneath, his light green flak combat vest is darker, his knee pads are white, his pants are gray and his combat boots are black.
Dark brown hair and tired bluish brown eyes that had calm down after the storm.
Aeryn knew him well...as this man is known other than Chris Redfield.
Her heart is beating fast since he went on his own, where's Piers? Did he stay behind? Or had to do desk work...
Naoakira notice Aeryn's behavior and Hajun and Letitia too as the two couples recalls Ryu question to Aeryn...
How long will you keep lying?
Is she hiding something? But there thoughts were cut short when they heard gun shots follow by the undead groans and growls, Yohei grab the axe and protected Anne, Allen, Shiki, and Ryu.
While Hajun protects Letitia and Naoakira stood beside Aeryn held her rosary necklace as she knew that its him...his here...his here for her...
The noise slowly died down and they heard voices on the other side...
"Area clear sir..."
"Search for survivors..."
"Yes sir..."
Aeryn wanted to approach the stairs but heard heavy footsteps approaching the door and watched as someone tried to open the barricade lock.
Letitia is worried as Hajun watch as the voice on the other end called out the leader stating that the door is lock and possible have survivors, without hesitation the door knob is shot out and heavy boots kick the door wide open.
Everyone were startled and Aeryn didn't as her eyes met the familiar blue eyes.
"Chris..." Was all she could say as Chris saw her and relief, the moment he saw her, he rush to her and hug her.
Aeryn took a whimp of his scent, cologne, blood, sweat...he was worried...his grip tighten her as he let out a sighed.
"Thank God..."
Letitia and Hajun are shock at this as Ryu grin.
"I told you...she's lying..."
After rescuing the remaining the students and faculty members, Aeryn held onto the blanket that was given to her and sat at the hummer driver seat as she is recovering from the attack.
While the rest are being check-up, Chris approach her.
"How are you?"
Aeryn look up to him as she nodded "I'm a bit shaken...but alright..."
Chris kneel down still holding his bear commando rifle as he place his hand at her lap giving a soft squeeze, Aeryn held his hand feeling the kevlar glove.
"...Chris..."
"I...I know you said that you'll be fine...but I worried for you...everyday..."
Aeryn listen more as Chris bit his bottom lip "From the moment I heard about the outbreak here...I knew your there...and worried that...that-"
"Chris you know I'm not helpless...plus I can't expose my abilities...if I showed them...I might be...."
Chris held her cheek as he didn't want to hear the last word...he understood...on the other side of the hummer, Yohei who had finish the check-up heard everything and is smoking.
He had to admit, but Ryu is right and is onto something...
Aeryn is hiding something...
The moment he threw the cigar on the ground and stomp it he walk away...unaware the shadow stayed behind.
(Timeskip is brought to you by Monstro Lounge), at hotel.
The students and faculty were told to stay in hotel until the time being, upon staying Yohei inform Naoakira and the rest in hotel room as they are gather and getting info.
"So not only does Aeryn and Chris knows each other, but she has this "Ability"?" Anne spoke as Yohei nodded.
"I know its crazy but I think Aeryn is hiding something, I mean have any of you find her...off?"
Shiki wanted to stay quite but he spoke up "Now that you mention it..when I first saw her pet..."cat...it was weird...his ears has flames, glaring at me and his tails were pitchfork...not to mention the three stuff toys she has...I swore they were moving whenever I look away....."
Allen then recalls one more "Her cousin, Sebastian...does not like me especially told me to back off from snooping on her privacy...I mean I didn't mean to look into her sketchbook...there were a lot of things and people..."
They turn to him and Hajun asked "Fictional?"
Allen shake his head and added "No real, and she even wrote some...here I'll show you the pics."
Naoakira didn't want to look but he wants to know why she's acting weird and hiding...so the moment they look into Allen's phone...they saw various sketches of males and females...and he saw one that caught his attention.
A drawing of Chris smiling and has his coat drape over his shoulder, he could see her cursive handwriting on the bottom right.
"I still remember the day we chat...whenever I look back, I can't help but to see you smile...when and you said 'It's been a while since I smile, maybe because seeing you makes me feel ease...' and I'm glad..."
Naoakira felt a bit of jealousy...he stood up and approach the door, Letitia look up and spoke "Professor?"
"Excuse me but I think I have to talk to her..."
The moment he left, they swore the atmosphere around him change...
Meanwhile, at Aeryn's room.
Aeryn wore a comfy attire with her leg warmers as she is glad she brought her stuff and Chris said he has to get Grim from her place, and when he did.
Grim rush towards her, the monster cat hug her.
"Minion!"
Aeryn hug him as she needed that "glad your okay...you and the tsums..."
Tsum! Chris hop out from her backpack still shaken, sure he and his human counterpart had witness but still shaken...even Tsum! Crewel and Claire as they gather around and cuddle at her legs.
Chris sat down on the edge of the bed and sighed as he saw how cuddly Tsum! Crewel is and it made him a bit jealous but same time recalls his arguments with him.
Aeryn looked up to Chris and asked "By the way...how's everyone back at St. Micheal?"
Chris smile at her and answered "Well, its not same when you and the rest are not around...Krauser said that he spotted Scry entering your old room and sat down on bed and misses you..."
Aeryn smile and stroke Grim ears "I miss him too along Mr. Bunny and Mr.Shadow..."
Chris cherish her cheek as he kiss her "I also miss holding you and kiss you..."
"Your such a sap you know that?" She giggles as he chuckle, sadly the wholesome moment didn't last as they were startled by a loud knock on the door.
She got out putting Grim on the bed and opens the door to see, Naoakira...his giving her a serious look in her.
"Oh...um hey professor...what's wron-"
"Aeryn...we need to talk."
His golden eyes turns to Chris giving him a glare, Aeryn is worried so she walk out of her room. Grim pop out from under the pillow and worried.
"Aeryn?"
"..."
Library room ((if you live in Philippines, chances are you heard about Palms country club, my relative often invites my family either by tennis before or event...))
The two enter a secluded area since the library is small yet quite. "Um...is something wrong?"
Naoakira pinch his nosebridge...
"...how long..."
"P-Pardon?"
"How long have you been lying?"
Aeryn flinched as Naoakira put his glasses down and glare her down, she bit her bottom lips as she spoke.
"I...I really don't kno-"
"Don't lie to me little mouse."
"Little mouse? Really? And I thought Crewel's 'puppy' is worse."
They turn to see Chris...glaring at him, Aeryn knew...
If she doesn't tells the truth...things are going south...

can u tell me abt resident evil because im sooo curious abt it from ur posts 👀👀 (the only thing i know about it is that ??? there's a really tall vampire lady everyone thirsts over ???)
ok ok <33 *cracks my knuckles* get ready for my high school presentation
Resident Evil or Biohazard (as its known in japan/asia) is a Japanese survival horror game franchise, with an over-overarching story about a pharmaceutical company named Umbrella. Which produces bio-weapons and mutagenic viruses that mutate the human body (zombies and other disgusting gory creatures)
I'll just begin from the start with the Mansion Incident and the outbreak of Raccoon city. The Mansion Incident (the first re game: Resident Evil 1996 and the remake 2002) was an operation by RPD (Raccoon police department) to investigate murders in Arkley county. And the Arkley mansion in, which the game takes place in, is found to be a secret Umbrella laboratory where they experimented with bio-weapons projects.
After that came the Raccoon city outbreak (Resident Evil 2 1998 and the remake 2019), which was a city wide viral outbreak where the 100,000 population were infected by contaminated drinking water and mutated into zombies. In the end the city was bombed to contain the infection by the USA government and after the whole incident is heavily denied by the government to cover-up their involvement in illegal bio-weapon research.
The first two games also introduced out main heroes and the faces of re: Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine; two members of Raccoons S.T.A.R.S(Special Tactics and Rescue Service) team and survivors of the Mansion Incident, and Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield; two survivors of the Raccoon city outbreak. And also the main villain, Albert Wesker, a S.T.A.R.S captain and a double agent for Umbrella.
these is just the basic two first games that im most familiar with and the ones that started the whole thing. feel free to ask if you want to know more about a certain character or other game youve seen (bc there is a LOT of ground to cover <333 mwuah

───  𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙸𝙳𝙸𝙾𝚃
Welcome to my crappy intro! I'm Liv, from the worst timezone aka the middle of Europe, and way too anxious to bother y'all on Discord so don't mind me lurking, you guys are too cool for me and I'm scared. It's been a minute since I wrote Jill but I am so so so excited. There's a lot to her character but I tried to keep everything a bit vague so I don't force any headcanons on anyone. But I'd absolutely love to plot and explore connections.
───  𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙿𝙰𝚂𝚃
Valentine was recruited into the elite unit of the RACCOON CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT, SPECIAL TACTICS AND RESCUE SERVICE by then-captain ALBERT WESKER. She was involved in numerous operations with S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team, acting as the B&E specialist and rear guard.
Her first exposure to bioterrorism occurred while accompanying her team to investigate the disappearance of S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team in the ARKLAY MOUNTAINS. Upon arrival at the site, Alpha Team were attacked by mutant dogs. The survivors were forced to seek shelter in a nearby estate later identified as the SPENCER MANSION.
Exploring the estate, Valentine discovered the mansion and its associated underground laboratory to be overrun by humans, non-human animals, and plants mutated by the T-VIRUS. Valentine discovered the remains of several members of Bravo Team as well as evidence suggesting the facility to be owned by UMBRELLA, who Wesker appeared to be working for.
Valentine, alongside her remaining team, was able to escape the mansion via helicopter before its self-destruction.
Valentine continued her investigation into Umbrella following the Mansion Incident, remaining in Raccoon City despite being suspended from the R.P.D, while her colleagues investigated internationally. As such, Valentine was in the city during the VIRAL OUTBREAK AND DESTRUCTION INCIDENT.
During the incident, Valentine met with U.B.C.S. members. She attempted to assist with the evacuation of uninfected civilians via an underground tram, although this was unsuccessful.
While attempting to aid survivors and escape from Raccoon City, Valentine fought those mutated by the t-Virus. One, NEMESIS T-TYPE, relentlessly pursued Valentine throughout her activities in the city and infected her with the T-VIRUS.
Valentine was eventually administered a VACCINE for the t-Virus by and escaped the city via helicopter minutes before its destruction.
Following the incident in Raccoon City, Valentine travelled to EUROPE, where she continued her investigation into Umbrella which eventually lead her to join the PRIVATE ANTI-BIOHAZARD SERVICE.
Years passed, Jill went missing during a raid on the European SPENCER ESTATE. She sought to obtain information on the whereabouts of WESKER. In the castle library, Valentine discovered and fought Wesker. She tackled Wesker from a window and plummeted down the cliff face below.
Although an extensive search of the area was conducted, she could not be located. Valentine was soon declared DEAD IN ABSENTIA.
Jill was later located in KIJUJU, WEST AFRICA. She was discovered to be under the control of Wesker, a feat achieved by the continuous administration of a chemical compound via a remote-controlled device attached to her chest. It was determined that she had been kept in cryostasis and used in the development of another virus. following the raid of the Spencer Estate. Later, Jill, rendered obedient to commands and was used to fight her enemy’s battles.
After being freed from the administration of the compound, thorough medical testing of Jill was conducted in the UNITED STATES with the intention of verifying her physical stability and researching the antibodies she developed in captivity. Valentine also engaged in rehabilitation in order to resume her duties.
───  𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙵𝚄𝚃𝚄𝚁𝙴
While still battling her own demons, riddled with the guilt of her own actions, the world kept spiraling. Under the watchful eye of the government, Jill was like a ticking bomb on paper, one that could go off on either side of this hell. But apparently, it was worth taking the risk.
She watched people she cared for die and then she watched herself hurt the ones left standing. Betrayed, determined, broken, yet still standing. There's little loyalty left in her for those who broke their promise of keeping people safe. And FEDRA seems to follow in those footsteps. Different name, same agenda. And while she's trying to keep her best foot forward, fully aware someone like her couldn't possibly go under the radar, the FIREFLIES' promise of finding the light is echoing louder through her sleepless nights. COLORADO may not be the solution, but it could be her step in the right direction.

Games I Played This Month October
It’s the spooky edition.
I played some horror/horror adjacent games.
1. The Spirit and the Mouse
Tumblr media
Technically I played this last month, but I only finished it at the very very end of the month after I’d already made my post, but it’s a cute game and I wanted to make sure to mention it.
You are a cute mouse on the streets in a stormy night and somehow you end up with the abilities of a helpful electricity spirit that was sent here to help the people of this little french town. It can only go home again if you take its place and help out the various townspeople with their problems; pretty much all of which are caused by faulty electricity.
It’s a cute game with a good concept and a nice aesthetic. Most of the game is exploring and collecting and solving little exploration puzzles in order to help out the townspeople. The puzzles are all fairly straightforward, the real focus of the game on the cute dialogue between the mouse and the spirits and the overall atmosphere as you explore this little town.
2. Vampire Survivors
Tumblr media
I played this earlier in the month before the 1.0 release and reached what was very clearly a final boss so, even though I haven’t really dipped back in since the big update I’m still putting it on here.
It’s a pretty good game, a great game for engaging the part of the brain that likes to see numbers go up, and like a really good game for listening to podcasts with. Due to unrelated circumstances I ended up getting into Collegehumor/Dropout stuff recently and spent a lot of my time playing Vampire Survivors listening to a LGBT podcast hosted by Ally Beardsley. This isn’t really relevant to the game just like, idk, this is what my experience was largely fuelled by.
I mean I think it’s kind of relevant because I couldn’t play Vampire Survivors without some kind of background thing to focus on. Without another component this game would not hold my attention, and I think that’s fine.
Just on the off chance that I’m the first person you’re hearing about Vampire Survivors from. It’s a game with very simplistic graphics where you defend yourself from endless hordes of monsters using auto-attacking weapons for up to 30 minutes (generally). It’s very light on narrative though now in the most recent update it does have a bestiary that adds a little context to the game. It’s not quite an idle game you definitely can’t just leave it to do while you do something else but it’s a low attention game. You only really need to fully focus on it now and then when you pick new weapons and items or if you’re dealing with a particularly tricky kind of enemy.
3. Resident Evil 5
Tumblr media
Resident Evil 5 is a racist mess. Lets just take that statement for granted. I’ve seen arguments that try to write it off as ‘oh its just that its set in africa. if there’s an outbreak of whatever biohazard this game is about naturally lots of black people would be infected because thats the people that live in africa etc’ and ‘its not racist its essentially the same thing that resident evil 4 did with eastern europe’ and the arguments are fucking stupid.
This game is racist. Resident Evil 4 was leaning on tropes of gothic horror, what tropes what ideas are being utilized to fuel the horror in this game? Fear of the native, fear of the primative, fear of black people just in of itself. Like there’s a chapter where all the infected are wearing extremely stereotypical tribal clothing and it sucks so bad.
Spoilers for the rest of the month but I also played Resident Evil 6. In that there’s an outbreak in a fictional chinese province and you don’t see asian stereotypes trotted out. The problems of RE5 cannot be solely attributed to ‘it’s set in africa’. They don’t use africa as a setting so much as africa itself becomes the theme, the flavour of the horror.
I played through mostly for grim curiosity and also because I wanted to watch a pair of videos (one by Noah Caldwell Gervais, one by Sophie From Mars) about the Resident Evil series as a whole and so I needed to finish off the couple of mainline series games I hadn’t managed to before.
I played it on my old xbox 360 copy that I bought back when it came out because I’d loved Resident Evil 4. I remember playing like two missions and then I didn’t touch it for 10 full years. There are PC ports or more modern versions that I could have played that might have felt less stodgy, where I might have felt capable of aiming and shooting without feeling as though I was dragging myself through molasses, but fuck giving anyone any more money for this terrible video game.
4. In Sound Mind
Tumblr media
In Sound Mind is a really neat game. It’s a survivally horror actiony kind of game. In it you are a therapist trapped in your own warped mindscape and forced to enter the mindscape of some of your former patients, fight against some of their fears and insecurities made manifest and try to figure out why and what is happening in the first place.
I had this from PS Plus/a bundle I got a while back and the main thing that enticed me to play was some of the screenshots from the steam page. The game has some really interesting aesthetics, each of the different mindscapes you end up going to has it’s own colour palette and theming and it just generally has a lot more going for it than I might have expected.
There’s just some really creative stuff, like your melee weapon when you obtain it is a broken shard of a mirror, which also serves as a sort of difficult to use radar. You can hold it up in front of you and enemies or important items or collectibles will be glowing slightly in its reflection. Difficult to use because of course it’s showing you the area behind you so it still requires some thought to make good use of it.
Each level has a sort of central presence, an embodiment of the insecurities of that person and each manifests in a very different way and requires different kinds of behaviour in response.
My only big issue is that, after you’ve defeated whatever boss enemy is in a mindscape you’re then free to roam the level and pick up any collectibles you missed in safety. I learned this from the first level and so in the second level I didn’t meticulously comb for collectibles before defeating the boss of the area and then found out there were certain items only accessible by using the boss’ attacks as a puzzle solving mechanic. I ended up having to replay that entire level to get to the one item I was missing. It does allow that option though, so it’s not a game breaking issue or anything like that, just a sort of mismatch or miscommunication between my expectations as they were set by the end of the first level and then the reality of the second.
5. The Other Side
Tumblr media
A short game about living in a sealed off industrial world, where nobody ever leaves. Discussion of the outside world is a crime punishable by death. Through some unlikely chance you caught a glimpse of an outside world and managed to slip through the cracks and you’ve been plotting how to make your escape.
The game boils down to operation of a drill in order to cut through the outer walls. You have to perform various maintenance on the drill, such as recharging its batteries, refuelling it, changing the broken drill bits and this whole process comes with a certain amount of tension. A feeling that you could be discovered at any moment and killed without question. Its an interesting mechanical experience, a sense of you must perform these actions perfectly or fail, though I’m not sure how much of an allowance there is for hesitation, or confusion, for forgetting a vital step.
It’s neat, it’s just a little game but it is pretty interesting.
6. Alleyway
Tumblr media
An extremely short horror game with ps1 era vibes. It’s a game where you walk down an alleyway and god only knows what its implied larger narrative is. Has a little bit of jumpscare kind of horror in there but primarily I was mostly enjoying the tension and ambient feeling of wrongness that works so well with ps1 style graphics.
7. Sally Face - Episode One: Strange Neighbours
Tumblr media
I was sort of hoping that this one would give me similar vibes to Fran Bow or Little Misfortune. It didn’t really. It’s an adventure game with a child protagonist getting into some messed up situations but it hasn’t really clicked with me so far. I admit I only played the first episode, it was all that was part of the itchio bundle for Reproductive Rights I got earlier in the year.
It follows Sal (Sally Face appears to be a nickname based on the mask he wears) as he recounts one of the first times he saw a dead body. You explore the apartment complex that you have just moved to and meet a number of weird and unpleasant characters. Solve a couple of inventory puzzles you know how this kind of thing goes and solve (?) a murder. There’s the implication that something worse and darker is going on behind the scenes but it’s mostly just an implication at this stage in the narrative and I don’t know where it goes just yet.
Don’t know whether I’ll follow this one up. It didn’t really grab me like the previous games I mentioned and I’d have to purchase the full game in order to see where it goes from here.
8. Zombie Admin
Tumblr media
Fun little arcade game where even though it’s the Zombie Apocalypse you’re still expected to go to work and perform your tasks. Fight your way through I think about 10 different procedurally generated levels, completing tasks and fighting zombies and it’s a pretty fun time that gets really difficult towards the back half. Especially if you’re just playing alone. It does have multiplayer functionality though. It’s not bad for a little silly top down shooter kind of game.
9. Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs
Tumblr media
I’d been so excited to play this one for a long time because I was convinced, solely by the name, that this was going to be like Victorian Saw or something. It’s not that.
I guess it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that it plays very similarly to the first Amnesia game in terms of exploring, finding notes and hiding from monsters. This is a victorian manor with an enormous industrial factory attached to it rather than a decrepit gothic castle. The major mechanical difference is that you don’t have a limited number of matches, i.e. a finite amount of time where you are permitted to see what the fuck is going on. And like there is more of a set path for you to follow in this one. In The Dark Descent sometimes you would get a moment where to progress you’d need a couple of different things and you could tackle these different areas in whatever order you pleased. That never happens in Machine For Pigs. I think that there might also be less actual interactions with the monsters and less of a variety of monsters, but it’s been too long since I played The Dark Descent and I immediately forgot everything about it when I was done.
I should say spoilers ahead though like I should be clear that I’m reiterating things from my understanding of them which is shaky at best.
A Machine For Pigs, the narrative is that your character went on some vision quest to South America (?) I think, and had some sort of lovecraftian encounter there where you came to the conclusion that all humanity is filth and failed and deserves to be wiped from the planet so you came back and built an enormous meat factory to turn people into pigmen so you could unleash them and destroy the world or something. But maybe as you get close to enact this you get cold feet and then amnesia and so the physical embodiment of the machine you built keeps phone calling you telling you to go down and turn the machine on and god the narrative of this game is so shaky to begin with but all of it is told with victorian era language that is tricky to parse and I feel like so much of it is told through implication or maybe as an environmental detail. I didn’t jibe with the story of this one at all unfortunately. I mean I didn’t super jibe with The Dark Descent either. I don’t know why I am still playing Amnesia games, except for, you know, the misunderstanding about this being a Victorian era Saw game.
10. Resident Evil 6
Tumblr media
(pictured above: chris redfield, and his good friend piers, in the middle of an outbreak stopping to sit on a children’s springy toy thing at a playground (i.e. the only moment of joy in the entire video game))
For the first of the four campaigns in this fucking overlong video game I was convinced that I was going to become the RE6 apologist. After coming off of xbox 360 era Resident Evil 5 it felt so good to play. The controls were responsive, like the actual moment to moment feel of the game was good. I wasn’t fighting for resources against my AI partner any more. The zombies were back and were fun to fight. The narrative mostly worked, or at least made internal sense. And then it was all downhill from there.
Which like isn’t to say that Leon and Helena’s campaign was flawless. The opening cutscene where the zombie president shambles towards him as he struggles to bring himself to shoot is pretty silly. The early game is pretty slow. When you do get to the church (your first primary objective) the puzzles you have to solve to get to the secret lab underneath felt extremely arbitrary and just weren’t fun. And the less said about Helena’s sister turning into a sexy spider monster the better. And yes I hated every section of the game where I had to fight against the ever respawning rakspalajes or whatever they were called. And that’s to say nothing of the fight against Fucking Derek which went on for an absolutely interminable length of time. So like, yeah, there are some flaws but Leon’s campaign is still the best the game has to offer.
After that Forgie accompanied me to play through Jake and Sherry’s campaign (we went out of sequence at her suggestion so as to ease me through the game as painlessly as possible) and it is... well... Jake and Sherry’s campaign is a fucking mess. They spend most of their time getting captured and then rescued by Chris and having the same boss fight again with the game’s piss poor version of the Nemesis, the Ustinak. Their campaign the most feels like it was written last, like it was just the flimsiest justifications for them being in the spots where the campaigns could overlap that the writers could be bothered to come up with. They’re being hunted by the Nemesis equivalent (I think the justification is supposed to be because whoever sent the Ustinak after them wants to wipe out Jake’s C-Virus immune genes) and they spent six months held captive somewhere and all I can think of is what the fuck the Ustinak spent doing for those six months. Making the long journey from whatever vaguely eastern european country they first encountered it in to china on foot I guess. Oh and they have ‘romantic tension’ and it sucks.
Oh and Jake is supposed to be Wesker’s secret son and he and Chris have this fucking stupid scene where Jake’s pissed that Chris killed the dad he’d never met and wouldn’t have gotten along with anyway because Wesker was a fucking psychopath.
And it’s full of terrible gimmick levels. Like the terrible snowmobiles section and a bit where you need to drive a motorbike. Awful enforced stealth sequences where you essentially need to perform an action and then run back and hide in a bin again and again and again. This is a trend that continues in Chris’ section including a bit where you have to fly a fucking plane. In resident evil.
Forgie attempted to accompany me through the Chris campaign also, but bounced after a single chapter because good god it’s terrible. It’s an absolute slog of a campaign where the game is just like ‘what if we were call of duty with monsters’ and then stretched each individual level out to absolute breaking point.
It does this really stupid thing where Chris has amnesia (unclear just how much he is supposed to have forgotten) and you start the game in the chinese outbreak and then have a level that flashes back to the repressed events of six months prior where Chris team was killed by evil ada wong in a blue dress. It’s so nothing. The whole narrative is so nothing. I think it’s situated where it is to try to break up the interminably long adventures of Chris Redfield in China, but it comes too quickly in the story, making the entire amnesia subplot look completely pointless and it’s not interesting or impactful enough for it to come as a revelation or to be the motivating factor for Chris for the next four to five hours.
Finally in Ada’s campaign it’s revealed that Ada in a red dress who is generally helpful (ish, she still doesn’t ever explain what is going on) and Ada in a blue dress who is evil are actually two different people and some fucking nonsense about Derek using a virus to turn people into Ada clones because he’s fucking horny for her or something. Ada’s campaign also feels like she’s just being whiplashed back and forth to wherever the plot needs her. Oh she was here helping Leon and Helena fight Helena’s sister so she’s gotta be there and oh she was here sniping while Jake and Sherry run away from a random fucking super enemy that has a flesh and bone chainsaw for some fucking reason I guess she’s there now. It’s supposed to be the campaign where you find out what’s actually been happening for the rest of the story but it’s main revelation is that Blue Ada and Red Ada are different women, a reveal I guessed the moment after I watched a clip of Blue Ada being born from a virus pod back in the Leon and Helena campaign. It also has some fucking awkward forced stealth sequences but overall is not as intolerable as Chris’ awful campaign. The worst part of Ada’s campaign is having to redo half of the Derek boss fight all over again because well I guess she was there so just do this again.
In summary I hate Resident Evil 6.
11. Murdered: Soul Suspect
Tumblr media
Murdered: Soul Suspect is sort of a spooky game. You are a ghost. There are other ghosts. There are some ‘demons’. It’s spooky. It counts.
It’s a game where you are the ghost of this cop and you must solve your own murder in order to move on. I started playing this game back in 2015 and then got distracted for seven years but I finally came back and it was pretty okay. It’s kind of janky. The way you solve the mysteries is kind of like ‘guess what the developer was thinking’. And like there’s kind of not a lot to this game. I accept that it’s not like a masterpiece or anything but I find this game to be charming.
The game has some good visual design, like the design of the main protagonist is very distinctive. The world that you traverse as a ghost is a hybrid of the physical world and the spiritual world. In the physical world only the outer walls of buildings stand as barrier to you, but there are spiritual ruins, the ghostly remains of fallen buildings, that you have to navigate around. It makes kind of a confused environment to explore, one that doesn’t always work.
There are side missions, you can meet like four or five different ghosts who need your help as a detective to figure out how they died or something similar. They’re sort of interesting if extremely shallow experiences, but they’re so few in number and so simple to solve.
Without going into in depth spoilers of the game, the final reveal did have some elements that I hadn’t anticipated. The funniest part of the game for me was that okay this is a game set in Salem. There’s been a string of murders and like one of the girls was burned at the stake, one was drowned with a ducking stool etc etc and it takes so so long for anyone to go ‘hey we’re in Salem the place where the witch trials happened and these sort of have similar vibes going on, maybe that’s something’ and you even have to go around the Salem Historical Museum before anybody can make the connection.
12. Resident Evil: Revelations
Tumblr media
The first resident evil game I’ve sort of enjoyed this month. It’s a side story set in between 4 and 5 and it’s all about the destruction of a floating city called Terragrigia and that’s kind of a fucking wild idea to introduce in your side content.
The game is mostly set on an adrift cruise ship, empty except for the infected that roam its halls. It’s a really neat setting that really suits the resident evil format. This has a blend of styles, with combat that feels like one of the mid series games but puzzles and exploration that feel closer to an earlier resident evil. And it’s mostly focused around Jill. Occasionally you get a chapter where you play as Chris and regrettably there are times you play as a pair of weirdos called Jackass and Grinder who feel like they’ve fallen out of a different game series altogether.
These side missions, whenever the game leaves the ship, are kind of the worst parts of the game. There’s a couple of flashbacks to the fall of Terragrigia and you play as Parker, a former agent for a different government organization that is supposed to respond to biohazard situations, and both of these are kind of intolerable. Especially the one right at the end of the game, after you’ve faced what already felt like a final boss fight and you have this awful war of attrition against seemingly endless hunters with not enough ammunition and an incredibly slow moving npc to support.
Overall the biggest disappointment of this game is that you never get to visit the half sunken Terragrigia. Not really. Only in flashback. Its a concept that holds such promise, an entire city half sunken and potentially full of infected. The Queen Zenobia is great and I loved exploring it but it was something of a let down that this concept goes unexplored and, like the rest of Resident Evil’s middle period, will not be revisited.
13. Scorn
Tumblr media
I wish I’d been able to enjoy this game. It’s a recently released game, available on Game Pass if you’re at all interested. It’s main selling point is it’s art style, inspired by the works of HR Gieger, everything is fleshy, visceral, unpleasantly meaty. I saw a trailer for it back in like fake E3 earlier this year and came out of it like ‘oh a weird shooter game with an aesthetic that I kind of hate to look at’ and didn’t think any more on it until I heard people describe it as like ‘Myst constructed out of flesh and goo’ or something. I don’t know how to find the tweet that I saw now. Later I learned that it does in fact have combat as well and wow it really shouldn’t.
I like the puzzles of the game. They really do have that feel of operating a machine. For the earliest one in the game you wander this large space with various rails and switches and things you can operate and slowly you piece together how the machine works and do so.
I even enjoy how it presents items to you, with very little context and its only through experimentation that you work out what does what. This is all stuff that I enjoy.
Then combat inevitably has to happen. It sucks. And granted its not supposed to be a fps game but its not as though you can opt out of combat, it is something you have to engage with to a greater or lesser extent. Honestly it’s not even that I’m opposed to having combat in the game, it just feels like the numbers are off.
Like eventually you gain a melee attack. It’s this weird piston punch that hits enemies only right in front of you, and it has two shots before it has to do a long cooldown. The weakest actual enemies take at least three shots before they go down, and for a long time the melee attack is all you have. These things can very easily hit you, at range, and the other big problem is that healing is such a scarce resource in this game. More so than probably any other game I’ve played. Whenever you find a healing recharge station it gives you like four charges. Each charge replenishes two of ten health points. There’s like I’d estimate about ten healing recharge stations in the game, maybe slightly more but not much more. Your health doesn’t recharge, the stations don’t recharge. You have an extremely finite amount of healing you can do in this entire game.
It’s so easy to end up checkpoint saved in a situation where you’re a single hit point from death and there’s nothing you can do about it except load an earlier save game (one at the start of every chapter so maybe about up to an hours worth of replaying) and hope you do better this time.
This is all to say nothing of the terrible boss fight that caps off the video game. Ultimately I had a worse time with this than with Resident Evil 6, which is fucking saying something.
14. Resident Evil Revelations 2
Tumblr media
Me and Forgie once tried to play this game co-op like a couple of years ago. The co-op system in this game is interesting in concept. There are two sets of protagonists. Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, and the other set Barry Burton and Natalia. Claire and Barry both play like typical resident evil protagonists. Moira and Natalia are much more limited in what they can do. Moira can shine a flashlight around and find hidden items, and potentially use her flashlight to blind and disorient enemies and even do a melee attack. Natalia on the other hand is like eight. She has psychic abilities and can see the auras of enemies from a distance, and point at hidden items in the world to make them collectible.
It’s interesting this asymmetrical co-op, at least in theory. We gave up after a single episode after it became clear that one of us was always going to have extremely little to actually do.
To be fair, Natalia does sometimes have useful abilities in her psychic vision. There are enemies called revenants that won’t die until you shoot their hidden core, hidden most often on one of their legs or their head. Natalia can see where it is located so you can focus your fire there as Barry and thus save ammunition. And later you encounter the Glasp, completely invisible and instant death if they touch you, but Natalia can see them and point them out. Sort of interesting concepts but they do not work in practice.
Overall this game is. Okay. More tolerable than 5 or 6. Not as interesting as Revelations 1. Its set on a mysterious island and it has a little bit of a deathgame vibe, at least towards the beginning. Claire and Moira wake up in an abandoned prison and they have these mysterious bracelets on, and a voice keeps talking to them as though they are part of a game or an experiment or something. Its not a consistent vibe and I might be mostly projecting that onto it.
The game wants to talk about Kafka a lot. Each of the chapters makes reference to one of his works. For a game that is obsessed with Kafka it really doesn’t seem to understand the vibe though. Kafka is all about absurd and cruel things happening to the protagonists or reasons that will never be known to them if they do exist at all. I think in order to have that kind of vibe you can’t really have a character who isn’t capable, at least not in the way that would deliver them from their situation. I’d love to see a video game that did lean into this influence in a more concrete way. It’d be tough to do but not impossible.
I also played through the two DLC stories. They were both uniquely terrible. The Struggle is all about surviving off the land for a year as Moira. Its worst feature was the necessary collection of rations to serve as your tries on missions, coupled with the idea that if you ever ran out of these tries your game and progress would be erased. But its worst worst feature was the forced stealth of the third mission which straight up did not work. This was not designed first and foremost as a stealth experience and it just didn’t work. I tried avoiding enemies, I tried killing enemies with stealth attacks, ultimately I just had to be detected and run through the level as quickly as possible to reach the exit and give up on getting any rations for the upcoming horde fight in the last mission. It sucked. The worst video game experience I’ve had all month.
Little Miss was comparitively fine, even if it is a story about Natalia looking for an evil version of her teddy bear while doing more awful stealth sequences. At least it never threatened to delete my progress.
15. Frog Detective 3: Corruption at Cowboy County
Tumblr media
You might think that this breaks the trend of spooky games, but let me assure you there is a ghost in this game so it’s perfectly in keeping with this month’s theme.
I love the Frog Detective series. It’s such a wholesome series of games. Short and cute and with a great sense of humour. This one is just as good as any of the others, with a little extra drama to end the trilogy. A great game. Very spooky and seasonally appropriate.
16. a pet shop after dark
Tumblr media
The most recent (i believe?) game from npckc, the creator of the Year of Springs series of visual novels. This is a point and click adventure where you’ve been hired to watch a pet store for a night and a day and you’ve been given very simple instructions. Feed the pets, water the plants and don’t turn off the lights.
The puzzles in this game are pretty neat, and there’s a good in built hint system to help steer you towards the correct answer if you need it. And there were a couple of times where I needed it. Once where I’d messed up a puzzle and it wasn’t clear that I’d made an error and needed to reset it and once where there was a secondary element to a puzzle that I wouldn’t have reached the correct conclusion if I’d spent all week trying to figure it out.
It’s a little creepy and the narrative is left a little ambiguous even at the end, but overall it’s a fun little experience with some interesting puzzle design.
17. Adios
Tumblr media
Adios is a game about being a farmer who disposes of dead bodies for the mob, and you have decided that you want out. It follows you as you have the difficult conversation with your contact and as you carry out your chores for the day. It’s a really strong narrative. I enjoyed it a lot. The only thing that I thought kind of let it down was it could have had more engaging activities for you to be doing.
There was one scene where you play horseshoes with your contact and that one is neat, but most of the rest of them only require like a limited amount of effort. Like there’s one where you’re moving some manure and you only move a single wheelbarrow full before the game refuses to let you engage with the mechanics any more. Either tailor the conversations to be the length of whatever little interactive thing I have that I can do, or give me the opportunity to continue doing things as we talk.
Idk I just have adhd. I just want to be doing a little thing. Really good game otherwise.

BioHazard Gun Survivor (2000) TV commercial - AI Enhanced 60fps
"Biohazard Gun Survivor," known as "Resident Evil Survivor" outside Japan, is a first-person shooter spinoff of the Resident Evil series. The game immerses players in a world overrun by bioweapons engineered through the T-Virus and G-Virus, offering a fertile ground for an in-depth military and virology commentary. This analysis will explore the fictional viral strains within the game, comparing them to real-world viruses, and incorporate insights from famous virologists. By examining the military implications and biological nuances of these viruses, we can gain a deeper understanding of the game's narrative and its broader implications. Set in the Resident Evil universe, "Biohazard Gun Survivor" follows the protagonist, Ark Thompson, as he navigates the aftermath of a viral outbreak caused by Umbrella Corporation's T-Virus and G-Virus. These fictional viruses serve as central antagonists, transforming humans and animals into monstrous bioweapons. This premise draws parallels to real-world concerns about bioterrorism and the weaponization of pathogens, emphasizing the need for a deeper exploration of the biological and military aspects of these viral threats.
The T-Virus, or Tyrant Virus, is designed to create super-soldiers and biological weapons, turning hosts into zombies and other grotesque creatures. The G-Virus, or Golgotha Virus, takes this further by inducing rapid mutation and regenerative capabilities, creating powerful and uncontrollable monsters. In the game, these viruses represent the ultimate military bioweapon, reflecting fears of uncontrollable biological warfare. The portrayal of these viruses raises questions about the ethical implications of genetic engineering and the potential consequences of using viruses as weapons.
In contrast to the fictional T-Virus and G-Virus, real-world viruses such as Ebola, Zika, and Influenza present significant but different threats. Famous virologists like Dr. Peter Piot, who co-discovered the Ebola virus, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, a leading expert on infectious diseases, have extensively studied these pathogens. Real viruses lack the dramatic mutations seen in the game but pose significant risks through their transmission, morbidity, and mortality rates. The comparison highlights the game's exaggeration for dramatic effect while underscoring genuine concerns about viral outbreaks and their potential for societal disruption.
The use of viruses as bioweapons has been a subject of military interest and ethical debate for decades. The Geneva Protocol of 1925 and the Biological Weapons Convention of 1972 aimed to prohibit such practices, yet the fictional depiction in "Biohazard Gun Survivor" reflects persistent anxieties about biological warfare. Military strategists and virologists alike understand that while fictional viruses like the T-Virus and G-Virus provide a sensational narrative, the real threat lies in the intentional release of highly contagious and lethal pathogens, which could lead to widespread chaos and casualties, far beyond the control envisioned by their creators.
"Biohazard Gun Survivor" offers a thrilling yet cautionary tale about the dangers of viral weaponization. By contrasting the game's fictional T-Virus and G-Virus with real-world viruses studied by virologists like Dr. Piot and Dr. Fauci, we gain insights into the exaggerated nature of the game's threats while appreciating the genuine risks posed by viral outbreaks. The military and ethical implications of such bioweapons underscore the importance of global cooperation in preventing the misuse of biological research. Ultimately, the game challenges players to consider the responsibilities that come with scientific advancement and the potential consequences of crossing ethical boundaries in pursuit of power.
