In Case You Didn’t Know
Part 9
(previous part here, next part here)
Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin x OFC
Summary: Jake has a surprise for you on the last day in California.
Warnings: 18+ MDNI, smut, p in v, pussy slapping, light dom/sub, etc.
•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•
The next 2 days are spent tying up loose ends and spending time with the squad who’d welcomed you with open arms.
It was your final full day in California and you’d spent the afternoon at the beach with Bradley, Natasha, and Bob, with the others planning on heading over in a bit with food and more drinks.
You notice storm clouds in the distance, so you lean back into Jake’s chest. “I think it’ll miss us, but I think it’s time.”
“Okay, where are you thinking?” Jake asks, reaching for your bag holding the small water-biodegradable flower-shaped urn with some of your mom’s ashes.
“There,” you say, nodding to the empty pier over the water.
“I’ll give you a minute alone first?”
“Perfect,” you smile, pressing a kiss to his lips before you rise.
•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•
Tears are rolling down your face as you stand at the edge of the pier, reading the letter you wrote the day before.
Hey Mom,
I’m here in California. I can see why you had it in mind when you were pregnant with me; it’s beautiful. I’m so glad you broke down where you did though.
I still can’t imagine how scared you must’ve been when you found out about me. You were so brave and always so strong. I’m in love with Jake (which you and everyone else apparently knew). I wish you were here to see how happy he makes me. I’m sorry we didn’t figure it out until after you were gone. I miss you.
“You okay?” Jake murmurs as he wraps his arms around you from behind.
“I am,” you sigh. “Just miss her.”
“Me too.”
He holds as you take a deep breath and drop the flower over the calm water, a stark contrast to the storm still in the distance. You both watch it for a few minutes before he releases you and takes a step back.
“Turn around, Charlie.”
The tears don’t stop and your heart begins to pound as you face him.
He’s down on one knee, holding a beautiful diamond ring.
“Yes!” You cry, wrapping your arms around his neck with a happy sob before he even has the chance to ask.
“I had a whole speech planned but I can’t remember any of it,” he chuckles as he places the ring on your finger, barely audible over the cheers and whistles from the squad.
“It doesn’t matter, my answer would still be yes. I love you, Jake. Always have, always will.”
“Charlie, look,” he whispers, nodding over your shoulder.
You smile through your tears as you see a stunning, vibrant rainbow over the water.
Love you too, Mom
•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•
“I promise I’d call my mama if she said yes. We’ll be back in a few,” Jake calls to the group as he pulls you towards his truck.
“If I said yes? Did you really think I’d say no?” You laugh.
He just smiles as he opens the back door of the cab and lifts you inside. He parked in the shade and left the windows cracked so the truck isn’t stifling as you get inside.
“Oh gosh, she’s gonna be so-“ you start to say but he cuts you off with a kiss.
“We’ll call her after, I need you first,” he murmurs against your lips, fumbling with the button to your shorts.
“You want to…here?” You ask as he dips his fingers into your bikini bottoms. “Yeah, okay…here’s good,” you agree when he finds your clit.
“So wet for me already,” he groans as he nudges your swim top with his nose to suck your nipple into his mouth.
“Have you seen yourself without a shirt? Been like this all day,” you pant, hands untying his shorts.
“And you didn’t tell me? Naughty, naughty girl.”
You shudder at his words. A moan is ripped from your throat when he bites down on your nipple the same time his fingers stop their circling to place a light slap to your clit.
“I…I mean, you make-fuck!” You stutter, crying out when he slaps your clit again. “Now Jake, I need you now.”
“Yes ma’am,” he growls against your breast before he lays you on the bench seat. You push your shorts off while he does the same to his before he climbs over you.
He runs the head of his cock through your slit, gathering your arousal before he pushes in with a satisfied groan.
Your legs wrap around his waist and your nails dig into his shoulders as he fucks you into the seat, pulling gasps from you with each thrust.
“Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you as my wife,” he grunts, reaching down between your bodies. “I’m gonna make you a mama…we’re gonna try out every kinky idea in that dirty mind of yours…” He slaps your clit, inhaling sharply as you clench around him. “We’ll definitely be exploring that more too. You like that?”
You whimper as you nod, on the knife’s edge of your orgasm.
“Or is it when I call you a naughty girl?” He pants, resting his head on your shoulder as his hips continue to pump into yours.
“Answer me,” he growls, biting your shoulder. He slaps your clit once more when you hesitate and that’s all it takes to push you over the edge with a muffled cry.
Unable to hold back from the sting of your nails in his back and the rhythmic tightening of your pussy, he cums too with a deep groan of his own.
•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•
“I think there are some napkins in here,” Jake says, rifling through the center console a few minutes later after you’ve both caught your breath.
You whimper as he cleans between your legs, clit still puffy and sensitive. “Later, sweetheart,” he promises.
He fixes your hair when you sit up and you look each other over before heading back to the group near the water, roasting hotdogs over the fire.
“What’d your ma say? She pretty excited?” Bradley asks his eyes on the fire.
He looks up when neither of you replies, and laughs when he sees your ruffled appearance and the way you’re looking at each other with wide eyes.
“You guys were totally fucking!”
•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•
Thankfully your embarrassment is short-lived when Natasha brings up the times she’s caught nearly all of the other guys in the act.
The rest of the night is full of laughter and reminiscing. Your eyes fill with tears as he says his goodbyes. You know he’ll see them again but you can’t help but feel guilty that he’ll be leaving some good friends.
“What’s wrong, sweetheart?” He asks, putting his arm around your shoulder on the walk back to his truck when he hears you sniff.
“I feel bad that you’re leaving some of your best friends for me.”
“Hey, it’s okay. I’ll still see ‘em. We’ll visit, they’ll visit. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them ended up transferring to Kingsville too. I’m not leaving California just for you either. Sure, you’re the big reason; I want to start a family and be closer to ours. But I’m also done with the deployments, the combat, the ejections, and nearly dying. I’m ready to teach the next gen.”
“Okay. Just don’t resent me, okay?”
“Never.”
•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•
“So when do you want to tie the knot?” You ask much later when your appetites for each other are finally sated with your head on his bare chest.
“As soon as possible. You can order a dress online, I’ll wear my dress blues or a tux and we can get married at church and have the reception in Ma and Dad’s yard by the garden,” Jake jokes, fingers playing in your hair.
“That actually sounds perfect,” you smile.
“Really?”
“I’ve been waiting my whole life for you, Jake. I’d be happy to stop at the courthouse tomorrow but I can’t imagine Ruth would forgive us if she’s not present. How mad was she when you told her about the proposal?”
“The only reason she didn’t drag me to the woodshed was because I told her about your plan to spread Lisa’s ashes. I hope you didn’t find that morbid, I just wanted you to feel like she was a part of it too.”
“Not at all, Jake. It was perfect.”
•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•
A/N: it’s me, hi, I’m the problem it’s me (I want Jake to call me naughty and spank/slap/choke/humiliate me). Fuck.
As always, any interaction is appreciated but I love hearing what you think in comments/reblogs.

OOOH! That's really nice of him. In fact, here we follow the old custom of the coffin and burial, but lately a small trend has emerged to use biodegradable urns and ashes as fertilizer for a tree seed. Personally, I've told everyone here at home that if anything happens to me, I want it. Like, peace and quiet and photosynthesis. Yes, let me go be a tree, thank you.
But for context:
Mother worked for about fifteen years in the sales sector at CORTEL, which is a company that manages a network of cemetery parks. It's all very humanized, there are lots of trees and plants and even a lake with ducks – and silence and peace, despite being somewhat close to a military brigade battalion. There is also a playground so small children don't cause chaos inside the funeral chapels during wakes, free WI-FI, as well as being right in front of the church, so the priest can always cross the street for anyone who wants to. There's a flower shop, a cafe, and a really beautiful hall for cremation ceremonies. And it's all private, so everything is always in order.
And yes, I grew up in there lol
This is a super late response, but oh wow, thank you so much for sharing! That's absolutely fascinating! And becoming fertilizer for a tree seed sounds absolutely lovely and peaceful. Gives you something to look forward to watching grow every time you visit!
I'm Japanese, and in Japan pretty much everyone's cremated, and after the cremation, rather than getting individual graves, the ashes are added to the family one assuming it already exists (it's both traditional, and out of necessity, since tiny island country with lotsa people). Every funeral/personal close brush with funerary practices for me has been along these lines, so it's really fascinating to hear from other folks!
Context of this ask: this is re another ask where I said Morbs is always interested in learning about other cultures funerary practices (and turns out, I am too lol!)

JOURNAL ENTRY // AETHER.
Date: 12th August Mood: 2/10. Daily Goal: Get tea with friends. Find the energy to make something to eat. Tea isn't happening anymore.
I need to learn to hide my feelings better. If someone as oblivious as Zhongli can pick up on the fact I've been sad, I must be showing it. I wonder if he asked because he cares or because it was annoying. I think it was the latter. I don't see why anyone would care about my feelings. I don't think he and Venti are getting along right now, considering he said he wouldn't get tea with us. I didn't even ask Venti after that. I didn't see a point.
I just wanted to spend time with my friends & forget about Lumine & my parents & everything else for just one hour. It was stupid of me to ask at all.
Before he started asking me things, Zhongli was talking about biodegradable urns being a scam... I wonder when I die, what would someone do with my body? I think I'd want my ashes to be scattered by the sea. I don't think anyone would care to do that or give me a funeral, really. Those are for people who are loved. Would anyone even show up if I had one? Would anyone even visit my grave? Although, it was a bit of an odd topic for a casual conversation... I wonder why he chose it, of all things.
Maybe it's a sign.
I think that I should make something to eat and then go to bed... People always tell me writing my feelings down helps, but I don't think it does. I feel worse than I did earlier. I feel hollow, like I'm not a person. I'm not enough of a person for anyone to want around, at least. Maybe I'll make some toast. This is just a hard time, it'll pass eventually. One day I'll stop dwelling on the things that hurt me.
Tomorrow will be better. Aether of the future will be happier, I just know it!

How to Choose a Casket or Urn: Options for Every Preference and Budget
When it comes to honoring the life of a loved one, selecting the right casket or urn is a deeply personal choice that reflects their personality, values, and the special memories you shared together. With a variety of options available, choosing a casket or urn can feel overwhelming, especially when factoring in your budget and preferences. In this guide, we’ll help you navigate through the options and make a meaningful choice that fits both your emotional and financial needs.
For more information on our services, visit Faith Funeral Service.
1. Types of Caskets: Material and Design Options
Caskets come in a range of materials, each offering a unique aesthetic and price point. Here are some common types:
Metal Caskets: Metal caskets, including stainless steel, copper, and bronze, are known for their durability and sleek appearance. They can also include additional features like a gasket seal for added protection. While metal caskets are often more expensive than other options, they offer a lasting tribute for those who prioritize resilience and elegance.
Wood Caskets: Wood caskets are crafted from various hardwoods such as oak, cherry, maple, and mahogany. Each type of wood has a distinct grain and color, allowing families to choose something that reflects their loved one’s taste. Wooden caskets can range from luxurious high-end pieces to more affordable, simple designs in pine or poplar.
Eco-Friendly Caskets: For those looking to minimize their environmental impact, biodegradable caskets made from materials like bamboo, seagrass, or cardboard provide a sustainable alternative. These options are often used in green burials and are becoming increasingly popular for families who prioritize eco-conscious choices.
Personalized Caskets: Many funeral homes, including Faith Funeral Service, offer personalized options, allowing families to add specific features like custom engravings, fabric linings, or artwork that honors their loved one’s unique life story.
2. Choosing an Urn: Styles and Materials
If you’ve chosen cremation, selecting an urn that suits your loved one’s personality and preferences can provide a meaningful keepsake. Here’s an overview of urn options:
Ceramic and Glass Urns: These urns are often chosen for their beauty and artistic qualities. Crafted by skilled artisans, ceramic and glass urns can be customized with colors and patterns that reflect a loved one’s interests or personality. However, they can be delicate, so they’re best suited for display in a protected area.
Metal Urns: Metal urns, including those made from brass, bronze, or stainless steel, are durable and can feature intricate designs or engravings. They are a popular choice for families who prefer a more contemporary look, and they offer longevity, whether for display or burial.
Wooden Urns: Similar to wooden caskets, wooden urns offer a warm, natural appearance. They can be crafted from a variety of woods and may include engravings or inlays that add a personal touch. Wooden urns are versatile and can be displayed at home or interred.
Biodegradable Urns: For families who prefer a more environmentally friendly option, biodegradable urns made from materials like paper, salt, or sand are suitable for burial or water releases. These urns are designed to break down naturally, making them ideal for honoring a loved one’s commitment to sustainability.
Keepsake and Miniature Urns: Keepsake urns are small urns that hold a portion of the ashes. They’re often chosen by families who want to share the ashes among family members or keep a small, personal memento. These can be a meaningful way to feel close to a loved one even if they are interred elsewhere.
3. Budget Considerations
Choosing a casket or urn doesn’t have to mean sacrificing quality or beauty due to budget. Here are some considerations to help you balance cost with a fitting tribute:
Simple and Affordable Options: Funeral homes offer a range of basic models for both caskets and urns. For example, simpler wood or metal caskets, as well as classic urn designs, can provide a dignified option at a lower cost.
Personalization on a Budget: If you’re looking to add a personal touch without a high cost, consider simple enhancements like custom nameplates, a meaningful inscription, or selecting a color or finish that reflects the personality of your loved one.
Direct Purchase Options: Some families explore purchasing caskets or urns directly from online retailers, which can sometimes be more cost-effective. However, always ensure these items meet your funeral home’s requirements.
Pre-Planning to Lock in Prices: Many families are choosing to pre-plan their funeral arrangements, including casket or urn selection. By pre-planning, you can lock in current prices and avoid future price increases, providing both financial and emotional relief.
4. Making the Choice: Balancing Practicality with Emotion
Choosing a casket or urn is as much an emotional decision as a practical one. Here are a few tips to help guide the process:
Reflect on the Loved One’s Personality: Think about the characteristics, hobbies, or passions of your loved one. Would they prefer something traditional or unique? Bold or understated? Eco-friendly or long-lasting? Let their personality guide you in selecting a fitting tribute.
Consult with Family Members: This decision can often bring families closer together, allowing everyone to feel involved in the planning process. Encourage open conversations to find a consensus on what feels most meaningful to honor your loved one.
Consider the Purpose of the Item: If the casket or urn is intended for display, consider a design and material that fits your home or a specific memorial location. For burial, durability and long-lasting materials might be more important factors.

A Guide to Ashes Scattering Ceremonies: Honoring Loved Ones with Meaningful Farewells
Ashes scattering ceremonies have become an increasingly popular way for families to say goodbye to loved ones in a deeply personal and meaningful way. Whether conducted at sea, in a cherished natural setting, or at a location that held special significance to the deceased, these ashes scattering ceremonies offer a serene way to celebrate a life and let go.
The Significance of Ashes Scattering
Scattering ashes is not just a final act of farewell but a symbolic return of the body to nature. This process reflects the cycle of life and death, where a person's physical remains return to the earth or sea, becoming part of the broader environment. Many people find comfort in knowing their loved one's ashes will be scattered in a place that holds sentimental value or where they felt at peace.
Choosing the Perfect Location
The location is often the heart of an ashes scattering ceremony. Some popular options include
At Sea: Scattering ashes at sea can evoke feelings of freedom and peace. Many coastal towns offer boat services to take families to a secluded spot for the ceremony.
In Nature: Forests, meadows, mountaintops, or gardens can provide a serene and beautiful environment to scatter ashes. National parks and natural reserves are often sought-after locations, though it’s important to check local regulations beforehand.
Special Places: For some, the ideal location may be a spot that held personal meaning to the deceased, such as a family home, a vacation destination, or a beloved hiking trail.
Planning the Ceremony
Planning an ashes scattering ceremony can be as simple or as detailed as you desire. Some families prefer an intimate gathering, while others opt for a more formal service with readings, prayers, or music. Here are a few steps to help organize the event:
Permits and Regulations: Before scattering ashes, check local laws and regulations. Some locations, such as national parks or public beaches, may require permits.
Symbolic Acts: Incorporating rituals, like lighting candles, saying prayers, or reading poetry, can create a reflective and peaceful atmosphere.
Biodegradable Urns: If you plan to scatter ashes at sea or in nature, consider using a biodegradable urn designed to break down naturally after being submerged or placed in the environment.
Personal Touches: Music, photographs, and even the deceased’s favorite foods can be included to make the ceremony feel more personal.
Inviting Guests
Ashes scattering ceremonies are often smaller, intimate gatherings with close family and friends, but you can invite as many or as few people as you wish. For larger gatherings, consider hiring a celebrant or officiant to guide the ceremony, or ask a family member to say a few words in memory of the deceased.
After the Ceremony
After scattering the ashes, some families like to leave behind a marker or plaque at the site, if allowed, or plant a tree in memory of their loved one. Others may take a moment to reflect on the day and keep it as a memory of closure and celebration.

Compassionate Animal Cremation Services: Honoring Your Pet’s Memory
The loss of a beloved pet can be an emotional and difficult time for any pet owner. Animals become more than just companions; they are part of the family, offering unconditional love, loyalty, and joy throughout their lives. When they pass away, it is natural to want to honor their memory in a respectful and meaningful way. Animal cremation services provide a thoughtful option for those seeking to say goodbye to their pets with dignity.
Understanding Animal Cremation
Cremation for animals is a process similar to human cremation. It involves subjecting the body of the pet to high temperatures, reducing it to ashes. This method is preferred by many because it offers a clean, environmentally friendly way to handle remains. The ashes are returned to the pet owner, who can choose to keep them in an urn, scatter them in a meaningful location, or incorporate them into keepsakes as a way to hold onto cherished memories.
There are two main types of animal cremation services: communal cremation and private cremation. Understanding the differences between these options can help pet owners make the best choice for their circumstances.
Private Cremation
In a private cremation, the pet is cremated individually, ensuring that the ashes returned to the owner belong solely to their pet. This option is often chosen by those who want to keep or memorialize the remains in a special way. Some facilities offer viewing rooms where owners can witness the cremation process, which can provide closure and allow for a final farewell. Private cremations can also include personalized urns, plaques, or other memorial items to commemorate the pet’s life.
Communal Cremation
In a communal cremation, multiple animals are cremated together. While this option is more affordable, it does not allow for the return of individual ashes. Many pet owners choose this option when they prefer not to keep the ashes or when finances are a concern. The ashes from communal cremations are often scattered in dedicated memorial gardens or other meaningful locations.
Choosing the Right Service Provider
When deciding on animal cremation, it is important to choose a reputable service provider. Transparency in their process and pricing should be key factors. Some cremation services offer additional support, such as grief counseling or memorial services, which can be beneficial for families going through the loss of a pet. Asking questions about how the cremation is handled, the timeline, and options for memorialization can ensure the service meets the family’s expectations and needs.
It’s also worth considering how the pet’s remains will be returned. Some facilities offer standard containers for the ashes, while others provide various options, such as biodegradable urns or decorative containers. Many companies now offer creative ways to memorialize pets, such as incorporating ashes into jewelry, sculptures, or planting trees as living memorials.
Honoring Your Pet’s Memory
Choosing Cat Cremation allows pet owners to honor the life of their pet in a way that feels personal and significant. Whether the ashes are scattered in a favorite park, kept in a special place in the home, or made into a lasting keepsake, cremation offers a sense of closure. Many owners find peace in creating a lasting tribute to their pet, preserving their memory for years to come.

Creating a Heartfelt Tribute: Your Guide to Choosing a Cremation Urn
Choosing a cremation urn is a meaningful step in honoring the life and legacy of a loved one. This process, while often difficult, can provide comfort and serve as a lasting tribute to treasured memories. This guide will help you navigate the selection of an urn that truly reflects the essence of your loved one.
The Role of a Cremation Urn in Remembering a Loved One
A cremation urn serves a significant purpose beyond simply holding ashes; it embodies remembrance and respect. Here are important considerations when selecting an urn:
Functional Aspects of an Urn
The primary role of an urn is to securely contain the ashes of the deceased. It’s essential to choose one that is both durable and appropriately sized. Generally, an urn should hold one cubic inch of ash for each pound of body weight. Make sure the urn you select can comfortably accommodate this volume, ensuring the ashes are safeguarded.
Reflecting Their Essence
The urn should resonate with your loved one’s personality and life story. Consider their passions, hobbies, and characteristics when choosing a design. For example, if they cherished nature, an urn with earthy motifs might be fitting, while a sleek, modern design could reflect someone with contemporary tastes. This personal touch transforms the urn into a cherished memorial.
Material Choices for Cremation Urns
Cremation urns are available in various materials, each offering unique aesthetics and meanings. Here’s a breakdown of popular options to assist in your decision-making:
Sustainable Options
Eco-friendly urns made from biodegradable materials such as bamboo, recycled paper, or natural fibers are excellent choices for those who prioritize sustainability. These urns naturally decompose over time, making them ideal for natural burials or scattering ceremonies. Opting for an eco-friendly urn can also symbolize your loved one’s connection to the environment.
The Classic Appeal of Metal Urns
Metal urns, crafted from materials like bronze, brass, copper, or stainless steel, are known for their durability and intricate designs. Many feature detailed engravings, making them elegant and long-lasting choices. The strength of metal ensures that the memory of your loved one will endure for generations.
The Beauty of Ceramic Urns
Ceramic urns are celebrated for their artistic versatility. They come in various shapes, sizes, and finishes, allowing for customization that reflects your loved one’s personality. Hand-painted designs or unique glazes can add a special touch, resulting in a tribute that is both beautiful and meaningful.
The Timelessness of Stone Urns
Stone urns, made from granite or marble, offer a sturdy and classic option for memorialization. Their natural beauty and durability ensure they withstand the test of time. Available in various textures and colors, stone urns evoke a sense of permanence, making them suitable for those who led impactful lives.
Modern Elegance with Glass Urns
For a contemporary touch, glass urns provide an elegant option. Available in clear, colored, or etched designs, these urns serve as modern artistic expressions of remembrance. Their transparency allows for a beautiful display of the ashes, creating a striking centerpiece in any setting.

Whether it’s a vibrant floral motif for a garden enthusiast or a minimalist design for a modern aesthetic, customization options are plentiful.
Meaningful Engravings
Incorporating engravings can add a personal touch that enhances the tribute. Many urns allow for custom engravings of names, dates, or heartfelt messages. This detail transforms the urn into a cherished keepsake, capturing the essence of your loved one’s life and legacy.
Additional Keepsakes and Accessories
Consider including keepsakes or accessories that can enhance the memorial experience. Some urns feature compartments for mementos such as jewelry, photos, or letters. These personal touches can provide comfort and help keep the memory of your loved one alive in meaningful ways.
