As a teen, a friend got them interested in evangelical Christianity, which seemed to offer the promise of transformation. They joined a church youth group and began studying the Bible. Soon after, Markham found an online forum for a ministry that supports “those affected by unwanted homosexuality.” Markham didn’t identify as transgender at the time, but to their mentors in the conversion therapy program, Markham says, sexuality was inextricable from gender identity. “A woman being attracted to women—she was confused about her gender identity, confused about what it means to be a godly woman,” they explain. “And so what they end up doing, therapeutically, is attempting to police and reform your gender presentation.” [...] The worse Markham’s anxiety got, the more they became convinced that only God could save them. They enrolled at a small Christian college and found an outside church that offered group therapy. Other members of the group were there to overcome a variety of issues: eating disorders, alcoholism, or depression. “I was there talking about ‘gay,’” Markham recalls bitterly. The counselor, in training to become a licensed practitioner, told Markham to “write out every single same-sex attraction or gender confusion–related thought, dream, action, behavior that had ever materialized in my life per my memory, and describe the way that it hurt me, it hurt God, and hurt other people.” When they sought help from college administrators, they required Markham to attend biweekly sessions with a women’s chaplain who counseled them on “biblical womanhood” and made them read a book called God’s Little Princess.
Markham is also quoted in this article on the same topic.

I thought Mandroid's tower was supposed to affect energon-based lifeforms and that since it was established that the Terrans don't need it, just the cave water, they wouldn't be affected but oh well. guess not
they had a lot of death fakeouts that were getting pretty old by the end but damn, they really eviscerated Karen, huh. Kinda wish she'd had a bit more time to establish herself as a villain but unless this weapon actually teleported her somewhere or she's brought back some other way I guess we're done with her.
Since Mandroid probably wasn't healed, I'm guessing the source of the ancient weapon and the reason there's an energon eater down in the caves is gonna be the focus of the next season? btw are they gonna say anything about the time dilation he experienced or gd forbid have a version of him from the future but not THAT far into the future show up?
I don't have any particularly strong feelings re: Tarantulus but he was like. the only bot who was nowhere to be seen during the finale, which seems weird
the last few minutes were corny as hell but the rest of the show was great so I'll allow it
oh right I gotta check another copy of episode 24 because either the one I have is wonky or there's just a really weird cut at about 5 minutes where Thrash sees a guy running and then saves him from......nothing? I think part of why it feels so weird is the guy's running to the left and then all of a sudden it cuts to Thrash carrying him to the right. NO sign of danger and COMPLETE reversal of movement made it very jarring imo
uuuhhh what else. It's interesting that they touched on Megatron's past as a tyrant and then just. did not have that affect anything. maybe in the next season?
Why'd they name one of the Sharkticons Blitzwave lol, sounds like a ship name for Blitzwing and one of the —waves.
_________________________________________________
looking through the production bible that got posted on the tfw2005 forums and it's got concept art for the Terrans! I'm sure it's already been in the tags a zillion times by now but I think it's neat.
I think I prefer how Thrash looks in the show, but much as I like Nightshade's current aesthetic, I do like this one more
I think the final kids designs look better too
It says the kids' cyber-sleeve can retract to the size of a watchband whenever they need to hide it; I don't think we've seen that happen? If it were gonna happen it would've happened in the school episode, and I'm pretty sure it didn't so I'm guessing this ability was cut for whatever reason.
Dot apparently got a BA in Environmental Science, I don't think that's been mentioned on the show or other biographies? it's also not like. super important but it's a nice detail that links her to the park ranger job. Sadly not a lot of details on how she met Megs
It says Alex has a degree in history and used to be a professor of Human-Transformers Relations which I think changed a bit - more recent bios say he specifically studied Cybertronian history, iirc. It also mentions that after the move he teaches high school history and quickly becomes everyone's favorite instructor, but I don't think that's come up in the show. There's also Zero mention of him being Filipino which is kinda weird since the newer biographies mention that he's proud of his heritage and wants to pass it on to his kids, but I guess that just got added later. It also says Dr. Meridian was his closest friend at his old university, which makes me even sadder that the payoff for them finally meeting face-to face was kinda. Nothing.
ooh more Terran concept art as we go through the kids one at a time
jsdhflkjhgfj with the color scheme on the right she looks kinda like Flarepath
Of all the siblings, Jawbreaker is the most curious about the Terrans’ Transformer heritage and what they can learn from it. This can generate conflict, because some Terrans (Hashtag, Nightshade) want to stand apart from their Cybertronian ancestors and forge their own identities. Jawbreaker dreams of being as great as Optimus, and he’s teachers pet when it comes to Cybertronian history. [...] And yes, JB will hug his siblings with those tiny T-Rex arms!
I don't think we've seen the conflict over heritage all that much, I'm hoping we see more of it in season 2. I did like this latest batch of episodes but I do wish we got more of the Terrans figuring out who they are and less of the fighting. It does state he's a stygimoloch, the comment's not referring to him originally having a t-rex altmode or anything. It also doesn't have a picture that really shows off said tiny arms though so it feels a bit weird to mention that at all? w/e
Gargoyle altmode??? I get why they went for an owl instead but damn. imagine.
Nightshade is the only sibling who identifies as “Terran” and not gender coded, as they are mechanically minded and feel gender serves no function to their identity.
not really a fan of that tbh but if that's what you gotta do to get nonbinary characters in the show then go ahead, I guess
Hashtag was gonna be a News Van but tbh the GHOST van isn't really all that different from one so.
The charismatic leader of the Autobots, our version of the revered Prime is a bit like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, complete with the ability to speak magnitudes with a raised brow.
I was not. expecting that sjkdhfgjkdfghdfjkghjdg. please someone draw that
He still hasn’t quite figured out how to comfortably communicate with humans, and he often overdoes the jocular likeability with thumbs up and “okie dokies.” Dot especially finds this off-putting, and she’s in a strange friendship triangle where she gets along with Megatron, but not his one-time partner Optimus.
"one-time partner" you say 👀
He is truly reformed, so he makes every effort possible to right the wrongs of his past and show his new and improved self to humans. Despite this, Megatron will eventually discover that Optimus and Dot have been keeping secrets from him. This shattered trust, compounded by the temptation to claim the Emberstone himself to save his species, will make him turn heel once again.
hmmmmmm kinda hoping this plot point got dropped tbh. I can't even think of any secrets they'd be keeping from him atm, so if it is still gonna happen I'm guessing it'd be in the next season.
looks like Mandroid was gonna be more of a cyborg than he uh. starts off as, anyways. His shoulder kiiiinda reminds me a little bit of TFA Colossus Rhodes? It's a bit of a stretch and probably wasn't intentional, but that coulda been neat.
oh lol, in the pilot here they write that Robby wanted to compete in a gaming tournament with his friends in Philly but then the town was put under emergency weather lockdown, so he just. tries biking out there anyway
Nightshade’s wacky “improvements” make life harder for the Terrans and Maltos, and they take their experiments elsewhere, accidentally recruiting some of Mandroid’s spider-bots in the process. Ultimately, she converts the family barn into a tricked out clubhouse and HQ for the Terrans and kids!
squints. somebody fucked up
Most of the episode ideas for s1 they've got here were exectued in some fashion, but the 2 that weren't involve meeting more citizens of Witwicky and revealing how it's mtmte and full of GHOST secrets, which feels kinda similar to Griffin Rock but evil
and the other is Hashtag being part of a fan community and wanting to go to a convention in town, but she's been posing as a human (and her profile states she "low-key wants to be" one) and presumably hijinks ensue
Obviously this was like, the pitch for the show and things changed but it's always neat to see exactly how and what might come up later 👀

Can I ask what 'premillenial dispensationalism' is ?
oh no i have to explain the scofield bible
Side note, I picked a bad time to finish this, I meant to have it done earlier but I've been super busy. Everything here is dead serious, sadly. If I get another follow-up to this, as a warning I will take forever to respond because I try to make these as informative and respectful as possible.
I'm going to put this below a cut. As a content warning, this talks about end-of-the-world stuff and touches on conspiracy theories and antisemitism, so take care if that's a touchy subject for you. It's impossible to talk about this in any depth without it leading into these topics. I'm going to try and keep to the things I know about so I don't make any missteps which is why I'm focusing more on the academic/scholarly aspects.
Alright, so. The idea of the apocalypse most people in America are familiar with is the one that starts with the Rapture. Unless you've been raised in certain groups or God zaps up all the good people to the sky and then there's a bunch of bad stuff that happens and then Jesus shows up to establish a Kingdom of God and after a thousand years of perfect rule and then there's one final battle against Satan and then the world gets destroyed, and everyone either goes to Hell forever or goes to Heaven.
Anyways, that's all about like, three hundred years old, tops AFAIK? More specifically just regarding the Rapture and what comes after it, the eternal misery thing is way older. To be clear, no serious religious scholar would think that this was what anyone who scribed early transcripts that would be compiled into the Bible saw as true, and most serious religious scholars aka people who didn't go to Liberty University or its copycats OHHHHHHHHHHH BURN sorry i'm bitter don't even think that this is close to what apocalypticism was preached by Jesus and those who came soon after him.
Now, I am not stupid enough to argue that apocalypticism isn't a core part of Christian texts (again, Jesus was definitively an apocalyptic preacher, there is zero doubt about that in any serious academic environment) but Revelations was a book added in by the Nicene Council three hundred years after the death of Jesus, and it was one of many apocalyptic texts. It just happens to be the one that made the cut, and it's one of the most metaphorical ones that has lent itself to people making some....very odd interpretations. Its writer also may have been tripping on cave shrooms but, while that does make a very fun story to tell at dinner to make religious studies sound less dry as a field, much like Satre and the mescaline crabs with philosophy, it's not a generally accepted theory.
But Satre really did take a bad hit of mescaline that made him hallucinate crabs for months, that actually happened.
Anyways. Highly metaphorical text. There's a case to be made that this was deliberate, because yelling "I HOPE GOD HITS NERO WITH A LIGHTNING BOLT" in a crowded forum will not end well. For example, you may or may not be familiar with the scholarly theory that the Number of the Beast is supposed to be a numerical cipher for Nero, and a lot of apocalyptic texts were just people saying "no guys, really, everyone who fucked us over is absolutely going to get smoted by God, because God told me so" as a morale boosting exercise. It's just that the Roman Empire happened to be most of the known world at the time, and it's not like even modern people have the best conceptualization of what a global society looks like anyway because our brains are mostly incapable of doing so. This isn't far off flood myths being based on catastrophic river flooding and then things getting embellished over time. Again, that little geographic reason was their world.
Though, I mean, if they were trying to say the fall of Rome would happen, they were right, it's just that the oppressive march of time would've ensured that happened eventually.
The problem is that you end up with morons a thousand and some spare change years down the line who decide to impose entirely different geopolitical standards onto it and that's where the Scofield Reference Bible comes in.
So the Scofield Reference Bible traces its origins to just before World War I, and the sharp among you in the crowd may begin to see where this is going. World War I was a brutal, horrific experience, and it was (probably, I've only taken 200 level history courses) the first global experience. And the Book of Revelation describes plagues (Spanish Flu), horrible afflictions (side effects of chemical warfare), and...well, yeah, war. While the Scofield Bible predates the war, it exploded in popularity because at the time it felt real.
Mister Scofield Reference Bible (Cyrus Scofield) was inspired by the preacher John Nelson Darby, with whom he was roughly contemporaneous with, and don't worry, you will never need to remember those names again because that's the only real contribution they've ever made to theology. Darby wouldn't have called himself a dispensationalist, the term was coined post-publication against his will after he died by someone who didn't like him, but that's the term we landed on.
To break down the name: dispensationalism refers to the idea that you can neatly divide up the history of the world into what amounts to theological epochs defined by a cycle of divine test > failure > judgement ending with the final dispensation, which will be Judgement Day itself. The "millennial" bit does not refer to an actual millennium but rather the Millennial Kingdom, which will be the actual-factual physical Kingdom of God.
This is the one thing that's probably kind of accurate to what pre-Nicene Christians would have believed, most people assumed that the Kingdom of God was just a restored version of Israel before all the invasions happened ruled by a divinely appointed prophet. No heavenly firmament or fluffy clouds or whatever.
The part where it's not accurate is the fluffy clouds Kingdom exists and that's where all the believers go to chill while the apocalypse is happening, though. That's a core concept of things, and that's the Rapture that pretty much any American would be familiar with
The modern version of this also includes some weirdly specific things like? For some reason it's generally accepted that people will go to Heaven naked and leave their clothes behind. I don't think this is in the Scofield Reference Bible, and I honestly don't know where this originated from. Could be as recent as Hal Lindsay for all I know. It was definitely in Left Behind, which was the other thing that caused a massive resurgence despite being probably one of the worst pieces of fiction ever published, theologian/blogger/fellow Gemini (<- most important quality) Slacktivist took like eight years to get through covering the first two books both in terms of how bad the theology is, the characters not acting like actual people, the plot not making sense, and how much the books reveal about the neuroses of both writers.
While that's fairly harmless, it's had some pretty sinister effects. Aside from the obvious, if you keep up with global politics at all, you're aware of the fact that America is extremely interested in keeping Israel in power as a state. I am very stupid except on very specific topics that are not this (and there is so much going on with colonialist interference in the Middle East to cover), not Palestinian or Israeli, and too tired to deal with attracting the bad kind of weirdoes to my blog so I'm going to put it this way. One, apartheid is bad, free Palestine. Two, and more within my wheelhouse so I can speak more in detail about this, the only reason that this is happening is because premillennial dispensationalist Christians think that Israel needs to exist as a geographical and political concept because the battle of Judgment Day is supposed to happen there, at which point the armies of God will defeat Satan and the world ends.
Not before all the surviving Jewish people convert to Christianity, the ~*~true religion~*~, though.
If it wasn't clear, the tildes and asterixes were a sarcasm tag, I just realized if you didn't spend an unfortunate amount of your life on Livejournal that might not be clear.
So, to be blunt, these people do not give a shit about actual Jewish people. Do not mistake this for anything other than a means to an end and they'll let anything happen to make sure that end comes about. Or actively help, for that matter. I said that I would get into conspiracy theories, the bit about needing Israel so the end of the world can happen is not a conspiracy theory. The saturation rate of evangelical dispensationalists in US government is incredibly high. Evangelicals actively drive public policy. When you know what to look for it's blatantly obvious I can get together a reading list at some point or another but it might take a while and this post is already very very long and meandering and sometimes barely on topic.
Anyways. The short of it is: From a sociology of religion perspective, it's accepted that Jesus was a Jewish apocalyptic preacher. Apocalypticism was very in vogue at the time and we can say with reasonable certainty (note: when a religious studies scholar uses the term, they mean "this definitely happened, it's just we can't perform necromancy to 100% confirm it") he was not the only one running around. He's addressed as "rabbi" by his disciples if that wasn't immediately clear. A refusal to acknowledge the realities of the world circa Jesus's life and treating the Bible as an unerring word of God (except when it's convenient to ignore certain bits) instead of a historical source, and all the issues that comes with it, has led to some extremely bad things. Ammon Hennacy was right, we are in Hell.
#thanks for the ask!#sorry this took forever i was trying to not write an entire academic paper on the subject#other fun philosopher facts: john stuart mill was a wife guy#rene descartes died of not enough naps#none of these are april fools day jokes#i mean the dying of not enough naps thing is reductive b/c it was more lack of sleep killed his immune system#still technically true#wish the history of the scofield bible were a joke it wouldn't be funny but at least it wouldn't be real

Living a Faithful Life: Practical Steps for a Christian Lifestyle
Embracing a Christian lifestyle means finding ways to live out your faith in a world filled with challenges, joys, and countless opportunities. A Christian lifestyle blog isn’t just about attending church on Sundays — it’s about embodying the teachings of Christ every day, in every interaction, and every choice we make. Let’s explore some key aspects that can help you grow spiritually and maintain a faithful life.
1. Starting with Daily Prayer and Reflection
One of the most powerful ways to keep Christ at the center of your life is by dedicating time each day to prayer and reflection. Prayer doesn’t always have to be lengthy; it’s a way to reconnect with God, seek guidance, and express gratitude. Consider setting aside five minutes in the morning to pray or read a Bible verse that resonates with you. Apps like YouVersion or Bible Gateway can help you find inspiration right on your phone.
2. Nurturing Relationships with Love and Compassion
A Christian lifestyle encourages loving others just as Jesus taught. This can be practiced by extending kindness, forgiveness, and empathy to those around us. Whether it’s with family, friends, or strangers, each interaction is an opportunity to show God’s love. Practice active listening, and if a conflict arises, approach it with grace and forgiveness.
3. Incorporating Scripture into Your Daily Life
Reading the Bible regularly not only deepens our knowledge of God’s Word but also helps us navigate life’s ups and downs with wisdom. Try integrating Bible reading into your morning or evening routine. If you’re new to daily reading, start with Proverbs or the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) to discover the teachings of Jesus firsthand.
4. Making Time for Fellowship and Community
Christianity thrives in community. Whether through church services, Bible study groups, or online Christian forums, connecting with other believers can inspire you to grow spiritually. Many churches offer small groups where members can share their experiences, ask questions, and provide support.
5. Living with Purpose and Serving Others
Jesus taught us to serve one another. Whether through volunteering, helping a neighbor, or contributing to charitable causes, acts of service allow us to be the hands and feet of Christ. Serving others not only blesses those in need but also strengthens our faith and gives life more meaning.
6. Practicing Gratitude and Positivity
Gratitude is a powerful practice that can transform our outlook on life. Each day, make it a habit to thank God for your blessings, both big and small. This habit not only helps us focus on the positive but also keeps us rooted in faith and contentment.

Do You Participate Active, on-going participation is a vital component of any message forum, blog, social network or website. Without such participation, the project will slowly wither, and will eventually die on the vine. The truth is that we cannot be lurkers, and simply depend on other members to keep things alive. We must each make an effort to do our personal part. Imagine if we all had the lurker attitude. Get the picture? So please step out, be bold, and let your presence be known in a loving, Christian manner. If you are a Christian, or have a serious interest in learning about the Christian faith, please consider joining the Bill's Bible Basics Facebook group at the URL below for inspiration, Christian fellowship and Bible study: https://www.facebook.com/groups/187741704351297 God bless you, and thanks so much! https://www.billkochman.com/Blog/index.php/do-you-participate/?feed_id=236605&Do%20You%20Participate

Is Our Reality a Simulation? Cosmic Video Game Theory Revealed
The idea that the world could be something else has gained ground among futurists, philosophers and physicists recently. Is this a real idea or is it just an imaginative thought? Reddit forums like r/Are We Living in a Simulacrum or r/Glitch in The Matrix are among the most viewed sites to study this concept. The idea is well-known outside these communities. What exactly is the Simulation Hypothesis? Many thinkers outside the box -- from philosophers, tech entrepreneurs and astrophysicists to astrophysicists - have suggested that the reality may be a hyper-realistic high-tech computer simulation overseen a higher consciousness. This is known as the simulation hypothesis. The theory proposes that in order to reduce computational complexity, a system running the simulation could render only the parts of the universe an observer participant wants to see at any given time in a similar way to how it renders in a video game. The theory has one major flaw: it isn't a convincing reason that an advanced civilization should play a simulation of its ancient history. Philosopher Nick Bostrom is a major proponent of the simulation theory, which he describes as the "alt-reality hypothesis." The theory he lays out is that once humans attain the state of being posthuman and acquire the technology to create machines that are capable of running advanced simulations of our ancestors, there's absolutely no reason why they wouldn't also develop their own simulation worlds for themselves. The Matrix Movie The film's basic premise is that the real world and the fictional one are two worlds, which are populated by humans who live in an alternate universe which is controlled by evil computer software. Keanu Reeves is Thomas Anderson, a hacker who goes by the name of Neo In a film that blends Alice in Wonderland with Hong Kong martial arts, the Bible and science fiction. During virtual training sessions, Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) informs Neo that the Oracle has foretold the arrival of The One, who will be able to free mankind from the machines. However, when Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) jumps into the Matrix and enters the Matrix, she discovers that the death in the simulation also kills the physical body in addition. Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) is able to capture Neo at a nightclub and is saved by Trinity who inserts a worm in his neck to prevent Neo from being killed the blue-suited robot that is known as Sentinel. Sentinel. Trinity and her team -which includes Switch, Apoc, and Mouse and Apoc, then lead Neo on a dangerous journey to the Matrix's central power source. Second Law of Information Dynamics Researchers have suggested that reality may be a computer simulation. This is akin to Plato's Allegory of the Cave, and Gnosticism's notion that real-world reality is created by the mind. John Wheeler, Nick Bostrom and other physicists have published important papers that suggest that our universe could be a computer-generated simulation. The theories they propose are fascinating, but they require further testing to establish their credibility. Researchers at the University of Portsmouth, however are looking at alternatives that could assist us in determining if we are living in a virtual reality. The Second Law of Information Dynamics or infodynamics is the name they've created. This is a novel theory that frames physical phenomena as the result of an informational process rather than an undefined type of material energy or matter. The principal conclusion is that, unlike the second law, which states that entropy or chaos in any system will grow over time, information entropy will decrease.
youtube
Melvin Vopson Melvin Vopson's research breaks down the wall of materialism with mathematical proof that our universe is a computational system with properties similar to a vast quantum simulation. Melvin Vopson's second law on information dynamic reopens the way to the spiritual and scientific worlds, as well as bringing a new resonance to philosophical ideas that depict real-world reality as an illusion. To test his new law Vopson studied two distinct information systems: digital data storage and an RNA genome. Both showed an increase in the entropy of information over time, which is the signature of the second law. It is clear that the universe is simulation and uses an algorithm to aid in optimizing and compressing data. This theory could turn out to be the most important scientific discovery since Einstein's theory of relativity. It would also confirm the notion that reality is a fictional construct the concept that was popularized in The Matrix and by Elon Musk and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Credits to YouTube

Is Christianity Exclusive?
Is Christianity exclusive? Short answer yes…..and no. Let’s talk about the “no” part first. Christianity welcomes everyone. You need not come from a family of Christian believers nor live in a particular part of the world. Your skin color or any other attribute of who you are does not matter. Jesus welcomes all as John clarified in John 3:16. In this aspect, Christianity is not exclusive. However, Christianity is exclusive when it comes to the truth. Consider this verse in the Gospel of John: John 14:6 (ESV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Exclusivity in a Postmodern World If you are a Christian and read this verse, you would hopefully come away believing that there is one single way to God, and that is through accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. However, in a recent Pew Forum study, 57% of self-professing Christians believe there is more than one way to heaven, despite the verse above that undoubtedly is in their Bible as well. How could this be? Unfortunately, the religious landscape has changed dramatically over the past couple of decades and quite a few pew sitters today have adopted a postmodern view that is built around tolerance and relativism. These individuals and church leaders do not want to offend anyone and build their message around acceptance and universalism. The message from the pulpit becomes a watered-down feel-good message instead of proclaiming the truth of God’s Word. After all, we do not want to seem out of harmony with the world, do we? We might lose some members of our church…… In our postmodern world, being too harsh and judgmental is an affront to society. Those who say Christianity is the only way to salvation feel it is not fair or it’s too arrogant to make such a claim. Relativism, the belief that truth is merely the opinion of an individual and can be different for others, is the mantra of today. Truth is Exclusive However, truth by its nature is exclusive. When one says they have the truth, they are also saying all other contradictory claims are false. This is the basic tenet of the Law of Non-Contradiction. Either A is true and B is false or vice versa, but not both. For example, both Christianity and Islam claim exclusivity to the truth. Only one of these claims is true. Given that the population of non-Christians in the world is at approximately 70%, Matthew 7:13-14 seems extremely prophetic: 13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” If you hold fast to believing the Bible is God’s Word and that Jesus Christ is the only way, then you must stand against the majority of the world. We cannot and must not alter this message to appease the sensitivity of the postmodernists. This also means we should not remain silent when asked to defend our faith. Silence can easily be perceived as acceptance. I think many of us have a fear of losing friendships if we take a stand, and thus take the easy way out by simply tolerating the individual, which in essence, affirms their belief. Nowhere in Scripture does it say we are to be tolerant to a message in contrast to the claims of Christ. We are to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44), but not a message that clearly is against Scripture. Judgment on our part, however, is reserved only for a fellow believer, and not for the rest of the world (1 Corinthians 5:12). Christianity is being attacked from all directions today, just as it always has been. While we focus much concern on the external forces trying to destroy the church of Christ, we must not overlook the internal efforts within our own congregation that attempt to alter the Word of God so that it fits in today’s postmodern world. This can be particularly devastating, especially in a church that does not practice biblical discipline. John MacArthur said this, “We need to regain our confidence in the power of God's truth. And we need to proclaim boldly that Christ is the only true hope for the people of this world. That may not be what people want to hear in this pseudo-tolerant age of postmodernism. But it is true nonetheless. And precisely because it is true and the gospel of Christ is the only hope for a lost world, it is all the more urgent that we rise above all the voices of confusion in the world and say so.” Here is a great article for further study.
