The Read-Cap: Week of May 4, 2024
Sharing my thoughts on books I read this week and what I'm planning on reading next.
This week started off with me finishing the final book in the Zodiac Academy series then reading several books off of Kindle Unlimited that I had in my list to get to. If you are new to the Read-Cap this a weekly post I’m doing where I share what I’ve been reading in the last week and what I plan on reading next. If I finish a book and decide not to do a full post reviewing the book then I’ll…

November Reading Breakdown
Honestly not a terrible month for me book wise. I re-read the Bailey Brothers series by Claire Kingsley. I love that series! My favorite is Unraveling him (which I'm up to 8 re-reads of this year). But other notable standout books were Ice Bet by S.J. Slyvis, The Player by Nikki Summers, and Unsteady by Peyton Corinne.
I loved the first book in the Bexley U by S.J. Slyvis, Weak Side, and I was not aware that the second book was coming out this year, let alone that it was already out. So as soon as I saw it, I HAD to read it. And it wasn't disappointing. I loved the forbidden aspect with the Player x Coach's Daughter. SHOCKINGLY I have only read one or two of "Coach's Daughter" books, and this makes me so much more aware and open to a coach's daughter romance. I can't wait for Taytum and Ford's book :)
"I meant what I said earlier, Riley. You're mine, and I'm going to prove it to you." My voice was hardly above a whisper "And here I thought you were proving it to me by putting Gray in his place" He smirked. "That was just an added bonus."
The fourth book of the Soldiers of Anarchy series by Nikki Summers, The Player, was a favorite of mine for this month. The connection they shared brought me to tears and I quickly found myself invested in their relationship changing from bubbling at the surface to deep connection due to the heavy circumstances. I'll be honest, I didn't really care for Will in the other books. My favorite before this book was Adam's book, but I thought my favorite would be when we got Tyler's story because the thief has always caught my eye. But The Player is going to be hard to top.
"I didn't want anyone else," he went on. "if I didn't have your attention, I didn't want anyone else's."
I have been waiting for Unsteady by Peyton Corinne for months, ever since I saw an insta reel for it. I've been waiting very patiently for this book and I was not disappointed. It was everything I expected it to be, and more. Legit brought tears to my eyes. I was invested not only in the relationship between Rhys and Sadie, but their relationships with everyone else. I loved how much we saw each of them grow not only in their own POV and thoughts, but how they saw each other grow and make changes.
"I love you. I love everything about you. I love your anger and your snark. I love the way you skate- like you're full of fire, and it makes me remember when I fell in love with hockey. I love how you take care of your brothers, how you protect and love Aurora."

Blurb:
I thought I had nothing left to give.
It took two men to prove me wrong.
From USA Today Bestselling author, Misty Walker, comes a dark, mmf MC romance.
Cameron Bixby was in her third year of residency at UMC of Las Vegas when her entire world was stripped from her.
She was given a new name, Petra, and for two years, she was made property of the worst kind of men who abused her until she was nothing but an empty shell.
Then the Royal Bastards MC stepped in and saved her.
Sly, the treasurer and resident hacker, and Moto, the road captain and gearhead, were tasked with finding out who she was and what they should do with her.
The woman is skittish, fragile, and addicted to God knows what, so luring information from her takes… unique tactics.
But as they coax her to health, they realize she’s so much more than the timid dove they rescued.
She’s strong, intelligent, and sexy as hell.
Suddenly, they aren’t sure if making her remember is the best idea.
Because Petra belongs in the world of an MC, but Cameron Bixby doesn’t.

Sharing all the books I read this week
This week was filled with new releases. And of course, it was all things I really wanted to read so I kind of started reading everything at once. There were just too many choices! So, some things on this list I started but will finish next week or the week after as literally everything came out at the same time. If you are new to the Read-Cap this a weekly post I’m doing where I share what I’ve…

Looking Back at the Books I Read in July 2023
Discussing all the books that I read in the last month.
This month felt like every book series had a release. Granted, that’s not true as many more are releasing books next month that are on my TBR. Either way, there were a lot of things that I wanted to read. Some of them were definitely better than others, not to mention I also went on a massive hockey romance or rather college sport romance kick as I just couldn’t commit myself to reading a new…
