Top 5 old-to-me authors of 2024
Hello friends!! Welcome to Top 5 Tuesday!! This week’s topic is top 5 old-to-me authors of 2024!! OK, so I am fully aware that ‘old authors’ sounds not so great. Mainly because no one wants to be thought of as OLD. However, we always do a top 5 new authors, and last year I thought “why aren’t we celebrating our fave authors that we read books from each year?” And so top 5 old authors was…

Review at AudioGals: The Wake-Up Call by Beth O'Leary, narrated by Jessie Cave & Lino Facioli.
I’m over at AudioGals with a review of The Wake-Up Call by Beth O’Leary, narrated by Jessie Cave & Lino Facioli. The story was better than the narration.

The Wake-Up Call by Beth O'Leary | Book Review
Beth O’Leary is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. The Wake-Up Call is O’Leary’s latest book — an excellent addition to her list. It is the second I’ve  read by O’Leary, however, it felt just as great as The No-Show. Well, in a different way. The Wake-Up Call is about two hotel receptionists – Izzy and Lucas. The two get along as well as oil and water. It wasn’t quite always that way…

Books I'm Excited To Read in 2021
Books I'm Excited To Read in 2021 #bookblogger #bookpost #bookstagrammer #booklover
I’m so glad that I’ve rediscovered my love for reading again – growing up I used to read all the time, just sit in my room reading Jacqueline Wilson books all day. In the last 4 months of 2020 I read about 12 books – a record for me! This year I’m aiming to read 2 books a month to break my record from last year. As I’m spending more time at home I would expect to be reading more but I’m not, I…

TOP FIVE HYPED BOOKS I DIDN'T LIKE
TOP FIVE HYPED BOOKS I DIDN’T LIKE
Mabuhay, friends! This has been a great month of going through all the hyped books I’ve come across. Of course, despite the hype, despite many of our close friends enjoying the book, some books just don’t work for us. I don’t necessarily think this is a bad thing though! I believe that when we find out we don’t like a book, it gives us more insight in to our reading habits. When we ask…

Top 5 books that made me sob in 2024
Hello friends!! Welcome to Top 5 Tuesday!! This week’s topic is a freebie, and I am writing about the top 5 books that made me sob in 2024!! I don’t know about anyone else, but if a book makes me sob my eyes out, it’s automatically a favourite. Yes, if I am reaching for the tissues because I can barely see the pages, it’s going to be pretty hard not to rate it a 5 star read. Just saying. A…

‘The Wake-Up Call’ by Beth O’Leary
Genre: Adult Fiction – Chic Lit Published: 2023 Format: Paperback Rating: ★★★★ Another brilliant novel from Beth O’Leary! Izzy and Lucas work at Forest Manor Hotel which is under threat of closure. The pair are usually put on different shifts, so they don’t have to work together but in the run-up to Christmas the pair have to work together. What follows is lots of competition, comedy, and…

giving authors a second chance | alice oseman, beth o'leary, elle kennedy & tessa bailey
giving authors a second chance | alice oseman, beth o’leary, elle kennedy & tessa bailey
Hey everyone, welcome or welcome back to my blog! Today I’m introducing a new series to my blog where I give authors a “second” chance and read another one of their books to see if I might actually like their writing, just with a different story. This post is definitely inspired by Booksandlala so it’s not an original idea but I loved seeing her give other authors another chance so I thought I’d…
